Tron was cool movie of its time, but does it really have this gigantic underground, cult following that this site claims it has? Honestly, up until news of a sequel started to surface, wasn't this just a forgotten, dated, cheesy Disney movie? I remember that I loved it when I seven or eight and it first hit VHS rental stores, I remember how fucking cool the arcade game was (remember arcades?), but does it merit this viral campaign and two year build-up? Jesus Christ, I re-watched Tron a few years back and...well...it didn't age very well. The script reports I've seen don't sound too promising for the sequel, either. Hey, I hope I'm wrong and that it kicks all form of ass, but I think this site is overdoing it in gauging the public's anticipation. No other site has cracked half the stories on this film that AICN has. What gives?

Lots of folks love it. I love it. Loved it 25 years ago, love it now. Can't wait to see it the sequel. But it's not for everybody. Especially not people who didn't try to solder crap onto their TRS-80 Color Computer that didn't belong and ended up setting it on fire.

They already made a sequel to Tron. It was called Antitrust. It was kinda jarring to see Tim Robbins playing Flynn but I thought him to be a most serviceable replacement. It won several awards if I remember correctly. Ryan Phillippe's Oscar acceptance speech was quite moving. Does no one remember this?

The "articles" on the site all credit Flynn as creating Tron, which he didn't, and one even seems to suggest Tron refers to the lightcycle game, which it doesn't. Both of these things should be obvious to anyone who bothered to watch the movie, which should be a prerequisite before throwing up a website about it.

I mean, fuck me. Seriously. I've been reading this site for going on 12 years, posting for far less... It really has become "Aint It Links-to-other-sites". I remember when THIS was the place EVERY geek came to on the net, for the first rumblings, the first rumours, the first scoops, the first pics. Harry, guys, seriously - wake UP. You're being left in the dust. EVERY movie I site I visit (out of the air, say, Dark Horizons and IESB, just for argument's sake) have at LEAST a 24 hour beat on you all on pretty much ALL the best news. I love this site, I love reading the talkbacks, but Christ - it's such a pale shadow of its former self, it's really disheartening.

Actually I'm a little disappointed by that site... you could do so much more with that. But I'm not complaining... I can't wait from Tron 2 *IF* Disney wises up and realizes what really worked for Tron and what didn't. Don't bother making a sequel if you don't know these things.

I was able to see TRON in 70mm at our local big screen theatre when it was first released and WOW was it awesome. Does anyone remember the video arcade game that came out at the same time? The light cycle portion was amazing and I tried to find one to buy, but alas, no luck...would be a cool reissue when the new film comes out.

TRON ages extremely well. It's amazing how far-sighted the film was. It featured avatars decades before the concept existed, among other things. Plus it's TRIPPY. Everything come together properly and I'm glad there are people who can't appreciate it. Those are the same people who ruin everything they profess to love by being elitist pricks about it. Do us all a favor and "help kill" TRON by steering clear of these talkbacks. Go watch The TRON RIP-OFF Matrix again or whatever.

Seems all the studios do them now and honestly I think they suck. They all seem to be cookie cutter from the same mold now. That being said I am of course very much looking forward to this movie.

He's too busy being Sting. It takes a good 4 hours of concentrating on his own visage just to make it down the stairs to make some coffee. He's THAT deep. He furrows his brow and concentrates, deeply (cause he's deep) about what it means to be Sting. The inherent Stingness of the Sting that makes Sting such a hot commodity amongst consumers of good music (The Police) and bad music (everything he's done since) alike. It takes Herculean will to join these opposing poles -- his good material from his youth, and the steaming piles of shit he periodically drops on humanity now -- without his ego going Supernova and destroying a cityblock and/or his wing at the convalescent home.
