The Producer Of WATCHMEN To Bring Us ECHO??

Published at:  Jul 21, 2009 6:50:49 PM CDT

Merrick here...

Lloyd Levin, producer of WATCHMEN, the HELLBOY films, and Lara Croft movies, may soon be tackling Terry Moore's ECHO comics (amassed HERE and HERE). He's nabbed the film rights for six figures.

"Echo" tells the story of a photographer who is preoccupied with her personal problems until she gets doused by liquid metal from a military experiment gone awry. She discovers she can now harness the power of a nuclear bomb, and soon the military wants its walking weapon.

in a few years y'all will be talking about my shit. sometimes when i write, i think...will the audience really buy this? then i realized...the majority of my generation thinks time travel could one day be possible, because they saw it in movies. it didnt take me long to figure out time travel is the most ridiculous thing. yet everyone thinks its plausible. why? movies. check and mate. i hardly have to try. big money here i come!

"Echo" by Trapt. It's kind of haunting imo and may sync well with a trailer. Also, just like they replaced a radioactive spider with a genetically enhanced spider biting Peter Parker, I agree thaat they should change the whole getting doused with liquid metal giving her powers origin. Unless that liquid metal resembles Robert Patrick circa 1991. ;)-

    time travel

    by stonedwriter88

this should be a time travel debate. because it is not possible. everything is interconnected, you cant disconnect something then reconnect it earlier. we'll never have the ability to process all the information about all the particles at any given moment, and then physically connect them to a particle present much earlier. it defies even the already ridiculous state of physics logic.

    not many well known comics

    by stonedwriter88

one of the above comments made me realize how few popular comics there seems to be. xmen, spider man, batman, superman, fantastic four, hulk, iron man, avengers,...mostly marvel. some graphic novels i know about like watchmen, hellboy, tmnt, usagi. but it does seem like theres already more movies from comics i know about than comics. funny cause the writer part of my name is currently involved on an epic new fantasy graphic novel series. i always say, i write, that doesnt mean i read much

Its a very simple sci-fi/unlikely hero story mixed in with symbiote/ghost living in the metal fused to her body. Its hard to explain, but its a great indy comic- it would make a great indy film, but im not too sure about a blockbuster.

My casting for this is either Emmanuelle Chriqui , Natalie Portman, or Rachel Mcadams....

However, they might do this as Jessica Alba's comeback project.

    by anakinsdiapers

..by Steve Ditko. He had a revamp in the 80's. And the book was pretty damn good. He was Steve Rogers with Quantum powers. That is, he was a man out of time, and had the whole culture shock thing going on. Not to mention his superior officer General Eiling was raising his children with them being taught he was a murderer who was court martialed for his crimes.
Captain Atom, The Question, and Giffen and maquires Justice league america were the first DC comics i really got into. They were my DC gateway comics.
