New Mondo Posters have been released! Tyler Stout's TOTAL RECALL, Alex Pardee's RE-ANIMATOR and Daniel Danger's TENENBAUMS!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I'm geeky for a lot of things, but movie posters and art at at the top of the heap... so maybe you'll understand why I have such an obsession over the incredible work being commissioned regularly by MondoTees for Alamo Drafthouse events.
They have commissioned three new pieces which are available for sale and if you like what you see, I highly recommend acting fast as these pieces always tend to be snatched up really quickly. Especially with Stout's TOTAL RECALL piece, which I predict will be spoken for within 48 hours.
Check 'em out below and click through to head to the MondoTees website! I know for a fact that at least one of these pieces will be framed and on my wall in the very near future.

I LOVE that Re-Animator poster! All three of them are top notch. It always feels like Christmas when Mondo announces a new poster design!

Man I haven't seen that in years. Time for a re-watch. Cool poster too!!
-
It's no Drew Struzan. The Total Recall is my favourite!
-
Arnold made some really top notch movies back then. Clearly the best of the action stars.
-
...but the TR poster is dreadful. Like something scribbled on the back of an exercise book or an ill-advised Governator fan's tattoo. That is all.
-
I love that film.
-
No room for the chick with three tits????
Other than that, great work! -

You got a lot of nerve showing your face around here

Look who's talking.
-
One of Arnie's best/worst deliveries.
-
sets the tone for the entire film.

in game of life.
-
screw you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I wonder how much it costs to commission artwork?
-
...but it sure smells good!
-
fuck you you asshole.
-
Fucking deep, Quaid!
-
ONE IS PRETTY COOL.What a great fucknig film that is.
-
CLASSIC Arnold line. Just below you-know-what.
-
I don't see thrice-tit on there though.
-
That's the greatest bad line delivery in movie history.
-
Looks like the cover to an issue of Weird Tales. I'm on the fence about Total Recall, though. It brings back bad memories of Hell Ride.
-
they'll be here any mintue! they'll kill you all!
-
and do it with panache!
-
How can I get my hands on a print of these?
-
I like the line drawings. But just reproducing images from the movie seems like a bit of a cheat.
-
Be honest ... the simple pyramid poster was better than that busy mess. Lest all copy images from movies onto paper and pretend we can create art!
-
FREE PAUL VERHOVAN!!!
-
Really? I mean, they're very cool designs and all, but they're posters for movies that, at the most recent, came out almost a decade ago and they're for screenings at a theatre most of us will miss. Where's the real news? And frankly, what HAPPENED to this site? Are they counting their money? Raising their babies? Apathetic? I'm serious, here. Even 3 years ago they were on the ball, and now they're DUST. What ever HAPPENED?
-
While I agree the site is basically in the shitter, I still think this post is cool. All of the input these guys have had on the movie poster scene (not that there is one, don't get me wrong) has been at the least very cool.Anyway, all the cool guys play at aintitbale these days anyway.
-
or is the fucking mondotees site down? I really wanted the Re-animator one.
-
Total Recall one is printed with metallic inks too, v. nice.
-
should have been the threetittied mutant girl and arnies deformed oxygenless face with the buphthalmic eyes. God! Sharon Stone was so hot in those days!!!! Please, i want one like her in heaven, i beg you Allah
-
SCREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEW YOUUUUUUUUUU!!!!!!!"
-
Hope you enjoyed the ride!
-
Because movies are products to those who produce them. To those who appreciate them, movies are an astounding achievement of mankind.
-
Of Verhoeven's SF efforts, it was easily the weakest. It looked cheap and was a hamfisted, moronic take on PK Dick.
Is this one of those "it blew me away when I was five so it must be great" things? I saw it in my twenties and was laughing at how cringe-inducingly bad it was. -
What the hell?
-
its going to look kick ass hanging in my office
-
Was at her hottest..that long curly hair..laying in bed in the beginning..Arnold was the King as well....those were the days. I wish I could go back.
-
Expand their market.

fuck a mutant?
-
...get a grip, son!
-
The poses look like exact frame rips from certain scene in the movie. It doesn't exclude it from being art. The composition and the color choices are inspiring. I had a shitload of comicbook characters penciled onto the walls of my bedroom when I was in my teens. I borrowed an art projector from a friend of my dads to do it. That shit is fun.
-
It is.
-
I mean, Two...Weeeks!

You realize these are limited edition silk-screen prints.

Not just jpegs on your computer monitor. I for one am pissed that the Tenenbaums one is already sold out.
-
I could be wrong, but the viewer is supposed to be "shocked" to find out kuato is part of another guy's body. I suppose if you haven't seen the film, the "guy pictured with a thing coming out of his stomach" could just be another random mutant. lol ;)
-
Wow was I disappointed after walking out of that one.
-
do you pay with Pay Pal on Mondotees?
-
Well, here's a GIANT FUCKING HINT so you can enjoy it the next time it's on cable: The bugs are the good guys, just trying to protect their planet. The asteroid that hits Earth is "wagging the dog"...the planet had a defense system in place when it somehow snuck through and gave the humans an excuse for a land invasion. The bugs are ground-bound...they can't launch asteroids anymore than the Vietnamese could launch ICBMs in the Vietnam War.
It's a brilliant piece of political satire on how fascism can take hold and corrupt. TOTAL RECALL is just stumbling around in the snowy footprints BLADE RUNNER created (even if our memories are "fake", could that make them preferable to reality?). Also (oddly enough) ANGEL HEART. It's a weak effort by a smart director, further weakened by Arnie's laughable "everyman with gigantic muscles" casting. -
its like that HP fan who killed himself because somebody ruined the new film for him! the books are out years now..catch up and shuffle off this mortal coil.
-
My wife keeps saying that, and she's never seen the film!
-
....would make a very kick-ass shirt
-
And Hollow Man was the weakest Verhoeven "syfy" movie.
-
Was by far the weakest of Verhoeven's sci-fi efforts. Little of his personality in it, apart from the provocative rape scene. Robocop, Total Recall, and Starship Troopers are a triptych of terrific sci fi movies, outrageously graphic and full of sly humor and satire. Come on, Quaid gets lobotomised at the end of Recall - how's that for a 'happy' ending?
-
I know its low level Verhoeven, but damn, I'm sucked in everytime I come across it on TV. Maybe its the concept, Goldsimth's score (always a sucker for Goldsmith), or the effects work, which still holds up for me.
-
...average movie, but filled with great one liners from Shwartzenturd.
-
I just got my hands on the Re-animator one. Definately a framing job.
-
Fuck, i hope he prints more
-
she cranked-out TOTAL RECALL. And ALL of her movies, released subsequent to BASIC INSTINCT, tanked at the boxoffice. She earned a CASINO Oscar for screaming, bitching and hyperventilating (that's a stretch, what with Stone duplicating her demeanor whenever the cameras weren't rolling). She's now only functional as an intoxicated seat-warmer at film conventions--and she's guaranteed to embarrass her sponsors with unconstrained ignorance (and racism).
Oh, the RE-ANIMATOR rendering? Nice, but how about compromising a nude Barbara Crampton into a pulp image? A decapitated head is entirely too predictable (but, what the hell, I can't draw a match stick). RE-ANIMTOR is among the BEST B-films ever made, what with NIGHT (CURSE) OF THE DEMON, CARNIVAL OF SOULS, BURN, WITCH, BURN -

What an epic sci-fi action masterpiece. Great fun.
-
No shit.
