CEMETARY JUNCTION teaser trailer is pretty damn funny! Ricky Gervais & Ralph Fiennes & Stephen Merchant...
Hey folks, Harry here and here's a teaser trailer for the next Ricky Gervais project - where he treats people like the peasants they are. At least in the teaser trailer he does. This doesn't tell us much of anything about the actual film, but it is a bit of fun on a Friday to enjoy. So enjoy...

Gervais = magic
-
I've no doubt it's funny...
-
They keep churning these suckers out don't they?
-
Borat 3? What shitty troll post. Anyways I can't wait for this film so far Gervais is 2-2 with The Office and Extras. If this is even 78 percent as good as those two it should be amazing.
-
Can't wait.
-
I wasn't sure if Cemetery Junction was going to be an actual comedy, or more of a dramatic thing. So, this is good news for me, as I was hoping for a comedy.
Also, "2-2" looks like "2 wins, 2 losses". Not "2 out of 2". -
I am "underemployed"!

it's shameful to see what passes for "pretty damn funny"
by swivile bobble fizz fizz
really
-
I think everything I have seen him in has been gold. Probably the weakest was that Ghost Town
-
it's more like a video announcement to put the film on radar...I guess?
-
maybe the next one will feature someone slipping on a banana peel or memorable catch phrase like Git 'er Done, or a pie in the face, something like that.
-
Didn't see anything that revealed anything actually about the movie, unless it is a movie about mini hate on's for ralphie
-
gavdiggity .. no love for Ricky?
-
Yeah I coined the phrase "Apatow-Jewmedian"
-
I love Gervais... I've liked everything he and Merchant have done. I was being feces-ish...
-
not an apatow fan? I really don't understand the comedian jewish hate thing. They self hate, no? Isn't that enough?
-
I see gavdiggity .. I know no one on here .. and I guess you guys post a lot on here .. just ignore me heheh .. I might not pick up on the subtle hints.
-
I think he needs to cast some new guys.
The Hangover felt so awesome because there was no Will Ferell, Seth Rogen, Paul Rudd etc. No Apatow involvement either. I miss American Comedies like that. You know what I mean? I still enjoy 40 year old Virgin from time to time, but meh, I want different. -
It's cool, no offense taken. New here, huh?
May god have mercy on your soul... -
Everybody take a good look at that stupid, good for nothing post and remember who wrote it. He's an utterly useless Talkbacker.
-
hasn't seen In Bruges. Fiennes is hilarious in that.
-
The hangover was a good'ol'merican comedy. He does need a larger group to cast from and I think his bigger audience will mean a bigger pool to choose from, or atleast feel comfortable approaching for a project.
And thank you gavdiggity, I am one from the north .. canada that is .. apparently we hate 'mericans and say eh -
Never saw it, want to though. Something about Euro that I like. Lived there for a bit maybe that was it? Dunno ....
Now, could you use Jewmedia? as a co-usage with jewmedian? -

Another surfire hit from Gervais - the king of surfire hits
by juansanchez
I don't think I've actually seen Gervais in anything outside of Talk Show appearances - and I'm already sick of him. Send him on vacation and give Eddie Izzard some more work.
-
Not that I'm gay, but if I had to, I mean absolutely had to, it'd be Ralph.
And by "had to" I mean if it was either that or be gently chastised. -
a draw
-
that was funny
-
well, I can see the bridge between the two .. for sure .. but is ricky a new eddie? or something else?
-
And what I say is all important for I am the true ruler of this world. Only my nemesis Kathy Bates can defeat me.
-
Only Izzard is actually really funny.
-
...just like everything Gervais and Merchant touch. Missing Karl though.
-
Only funny guy in that 'teaser' was Ralph... Ricky can suck it, with his twitchy-talking stuffitude. Peasants indeed, bahhh!
-
They are only part way through principal photography. Just finished the outdoor scenes according to Ricky's blog.
-
It will begin at 3PM PDT on 7/23 and run until 4:15. Fox switched spots with Summit Entertainment's fall/winter preview, so that will go off at 1:45. The reason was that, per Mori's HitFix site, is "fearing the 'Twilight' faithful would go manic if they had to wait too long in Hall H (after no doubt camping out all night), Summit Entertainment has smartly switched Thursday preview slots with 20th Century Fox."
-
where'd you get this info?
-
Mori's HitFlix site. gotcha...
-
Just watched it again, not a fan of Clive Owen but fuck me is he great in that scene. Also a funny scene from George Michael. Gervais and Merchant can do no wrong for me.
-
...square in his fat, smug, simpering face. Talk about a one trick pony; the same character in every fucking one of his programmes/movies/appearances. It was fresh and original in The Office and, to an extent, in Extras, but now it's just fucking annoying. CHANGE THE FUCKING RECORD.
-
and nothing but mad love for Rickey and Stephen. I'm in the theater already.

-
all the good seats in Hall H and the Avatar faithful would be shut out. Remember last year, when the Twilighters showed up at 4PM the prior day to camp out for Hall H?
-
Watch it and be amazed! Fiennes is funny, but its Brendon Gleason you wont believe. His acting shops in that are amazing! What. A. Film.
-
I played a bear called Barnabus in the school play when I was 9, and I was fucking hilarious; all the parents thought so.
-
The junction in Reading, england that Gervais has named this film after. Ho hum.
-
That made no sense.. His character in The Office was completely different than in Extras. He was actually playing a character in The Office, while he was basically playing himself the comedian in Extras. And I'm guessing you haven't seen anything else he's done.. soo.. nice call.
-
...he has exactly the same mannerisms, and plays basically the same character - himself, to varying degrees. Anyone who seen his early work on The 11 O'Clock Show and Rick Gervais Meets... will agree, he's made a career out of it - fuck, even in Stardust he was the exact same. Now I'm not saying he's without talent - I was a big fan of The Office and Extras, but when I see him doing the exact same schtick ten years down the line, it fucks me right off.
-
I liked it and I laughed.
-
About him being a one-trick-pony. But it's a damned funny pony. Don't like his stand-up for some reason, but the shows - and especially the XFM radio shows - are comedy gold. Karl's arm-wrestle with the down syndrome kid, the hippo that swallowed a circus midget, Karl's father sticking the Forest Gump kid in a wheely bin...the list goes on.
-
David Brent from the Office and Andy Millman from Extras are completly different characters in every way apart from the voice. Did you even watch the shows?
-
they look the same...it ends there though I'm afraid. In fact Andy Millman is more Tim from the office than brent.
-
And I'm not saying that the character aren't different, but Ricky still employs the same acting style to personify both. He basically never stops being Ricky Gervais. Unlike say Peter Sellars who completely inhibited the various characters he played. Ricky is always Ricky. He even acknowledges himself on the radio show - refers to himself as a one trick pony (admittedly in jest). That all said, he is great in all his shows. I actually liked the second season of extras more than the first. Poor old Lenny Henry...
-
like larry david is always larry david. Like larry sanders is always larry sanders. like jeffery is jeffrey tambor. That's no bad thing eh.
-
A big screen adventure for Ricky, Stephen, and Pilky would be like the greatest movie EVER. Please heed these words, Hollywood. I demand to see Karl's perfectly round head on the silver screen for 90 minutes.
-
his schtick is getting pretty tired.
-
That's right. Tommy Lee Jones in "The Fugitive". Where's he been lately? Anywhoo Emily "Goddess" Watson is in this. That's all I need to know.
-
Of course, with Ricky and Stephen working together. I know that some of his comedy seems familiar sometimes, but it's his delivery; I just laugh and laugh. And Ralph Fiennes looks like he's going to be a perfect addition to the group. :)
-
Perhaps they can reprise their Red Dragon scene where she sucks him off.
-
Is he havin a laugh?
-
...is right. loafroaster is wrong. David Brent and Andy Millman are not even slightly the same characters. I've never seen anything else he's done though and have no opinions on those.
-
...we do have those half hour animated episodes on HBO that use the audio from the podcasts coming later this year i think, so thats something.
-
For those with Mac computers, fine, great - it will go through and play properly. However, when you direct link a .mov file like that it means it has to pre-download on a PC platform. Which means it appears nothing is really happening on a PC system.
-
Or are you serious? Man, I can't wait for that.
-
I could watch a 90 minute movie of just this. And Merchant should be getting the same attention as Gervais.
