Red Band trailer for upcoming horror flick THE COLLECTOR bloodies up the interwebs... a little bit...
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. IGN has the exclusive on the Red Band trailer for the directorial debut of Marcus Dunstan, primarily known as a writer on FEAST and the SAW flicks (IV through current) I'm not a huge fan of anything he's written up to this point to be perfectly honest (or at least the films themselves), but I like the set-up for this one... a thief breaks into a house and stumbles onto something much worse.
The trailer's not bad, but don't get your hopes up for super gore or nudity or cursing... you know, what you think of when you click on a Red Band trailer. It really seems to only be Red Band because there's red blood glimpsed. I'm glad to not have any of the gags ruined, don't get me wrong, but I'm getting a little tired of Red Band trailers not taking advantage of the R-rated material... especially in horror flicks.
Anyway, here's the trailer:
I know the Fantastic Fest guys really dug the movie and are even hosting a free screening of it July 22nd (Click here for more information). Unfortunately, I'll be in San Diego gearing up for Comic-Con (and probably losing my mind just a little bit), so I'll probably catch the flick sometime after that. I hope it's as fun as the premise.

I thought Hollywood was remaking William Wyler's the Collector, starring Terrance Stamp and Samantha Eggar. I was about to scream bloody fucking murder and go on a shooting rampage if that was the case.

It looks alright...I guess...You know, it's pretty pathetic and sad that we live in a world where people will see, "From the makers of Saw IV, V, and VI," and think, "OH shit, we've gotta go see that!" Does anybody remember good horror anymore?

Who are these 'Fantastic Fest Guys' and why did they dig this movie? That is what I want to know. I have a sneaking suspicion that these might not be the guys that you want to base your viewing choices on...
