Goodbye, Farrah...
Merrick here...
Farrah Fawcett passed away today after a protracted battle with cancer. She was 62.
Farrah appeared on TV's SPIN CITY, MURDER IN TEXAS, and was Emmy nominated for her performance in THE BURNING BED.
Her film work includes the 1986 adaptation of William Mastrosimone's play EXTREMITIES, THE CANNONBALL RUN, and Stanley Donen's SATURN 3 - in which she costarred with Kirk Douglas and Harvey Keitel.
She was also Holly, the hostess of the New You Shop in the 1976 film adaptation of William F. Nolan's LOGAN'S RUN.
Farrah may be best remembered as Jill Munroe on CHARLIE'S ANGELS, and for a swimsuit poster which became one of its decades most memorable icons.
Thank you for everything, Farrah.
Peace.

I didn't mean to sound selfish. But that was my first reaction. hehe. I said "first".
-
Man, that fucking sucks.
R.I.P. -
Bye Farrah.
-
was just reading today how family were gathering to prepare for the end...figured she had a couple weeks left at least. thats too bad, can't say i was ever a fan and i'm too young to appreciate her sex symbol status from the 70s but she seemed like a nice sweet person.
-
but I've been seen with Farrah
RIP
-
And another doorway to my youth closes.
-
I remember watching it on Beta one Thanksgiving. It was a double-feature with Scanners.
That's the kind of childhood I had. -

Can't believe someone that fit could get cancer, you know? The grin was always kind of scary though.

...and now the media can stop pimping images of the poor woman dying in the hospital.

seeing her about ten years ago & thinking she still looked good. Then again, I'm okay with GILFs. I'm sick that way.

Yeah, I'm that old fellas. But trust me, back in the day - There was NOTHING LIKE HER.

I remember first seeing the iconic poster on Eight is Enough
by orionsangels
On Tommy Bradford's bedroom wall. I saw her in Saturn 3 and also grew up watching Charlie's Angel. She always stood out. She had a unique look about her. I saw her in the Burning Bed as well. You rocked our world! Will always love you Farrah!
-
Rest in peace Farrah.
-
iconic to a kid from the 70's
-
I was at the Charles Umlauf Sculpture Gardens in Austin a few years back and noticed a bust of her that he sculpted. She was one of his students, I believe.BoggyCreekBeast (awesome handle) You're right. The one line I remember from "Crystal Skull" is "We've reached the point when life starts taking things away instead of giving them to us."Rest in peace, Farrah.
-
Only one year on CHARLIE'S ANGELS, but what a glorious year that was.
-
Ugh.
-
A better actress than she ever seemed to get credit for, she had brilliant turns on three of my favourite movies from my teens, Cannonball Runs 1 and 2 and Saturn 3. She was great in Charlie's Angels too. Cancer fucking sucks man. RIP beautiful, thanks for the work. And Krod, I seem to remember Kietel's voiceover was done by Roy Dotrice but I might be wrong.
-
Even though you knew she was pretty much terminal it still hits you because of all that shit that's been going on in her family.
-
Just kidding. Goodbye, Farrah....
-
any confirms?
-
In your prime, Megan Fox couldn't hold a candle to you...and, more importantly, you could act.
-
R.I.P. Farrah. At least sh'e sno longer suffering...but that's little comfort...I know I'll never forget her...or the POSTER!!!
-
She was smokin back in the day. Her tight shirt in Cannonball Run is all the proof you need. All that and married to the Six Million Dollar Man, too!
RIP Farrah! -
Always feels worse when it's a genuine icon that summed up a decade somehow. RIP
-
When I think of being a kid in the summer back in the 70s a few things stand out. Feathered hair. ELO on my dad's car radio. Roller skates. Coconut smelling suntan lotion and that poster with the red swimsuit.
We can joke all we want about "such and such filmmaker raped my childhood" but part of mine actually did die today. -
Doesn't like one in three Americans get cancer at sometime in their lives?RIP
-
R.I.P Farrah
-
She did dent the dumb blonde persona later in a very classy way.

-
...but I've been feeling the urge to cry since hearing the news. Maybe it's the sad way that she went out, or that another of my '70s childhood icons has died. Maybe both... Very sad, and she didn't deserve to die this way... Cancer is the worst.

Jaclyn Smith and Kate jackson get breast cancer before and 50 and the Farrah a few years later. Too much coincidence too have something not cancer related on the Fox lot.
-
Makes a change to see an RIP talkback that hasn't had a single negative comment so far. Testament to the girl, alright - she was beautiful and sweet, never seemed to leave a bad mark in public - final Letterman appearance aside, and even that wasn't too bad. Going to put in a triple today in tribute - Cannonball Runs and Saturn 3. She was one of the things that made being a kid in the 70's great and she will be missed - along with Roy Scheider, she's one of the few celebrities I genuinely feel a bit of a loss about their passing. God bless, Farrah.

The human genome has been mapped, yet we still have cancer?
by soylentmean
The medical industry, if it had any fuckin' decency, should have completely eradicated cancer from our collective memories. It should be a fucking myth, a legend, a boogeyman to scare children around campfires. Yet it's still here, because there's no fuckin' money in a cure, only in "prevention" and "treatment".
I lost my dad to cancer, or in reality, to chemo therapy. If people would actually wake up, pay attention, read a fuckin' book, and not dutifully believe every fuckin' lie told them by their governments or so called authorities they might start to question the inconsistencies presented by an avenue of research being conquered and the continued threat of curable diseases and conditions.
Fuck you cancer and fuck you medical community, ostensibly playing god to fill your coffers.
My thoughts go out to Mrs. Fawcett's family, because she most certainly didn't have to die from this. -
ya bunch of 12-year olds.
-
She was the first. First gal I had on my wall...followed by many more.
I was just getting ready to begin high school when she hit big. To say that red one piece bathing suit was hotter than any bikini...is an understatement.
I followed her career and life after that. Always pulling for her. I even watched that NBC special a month or so back. Some folks thought it was depressing..but I saw it was her way of dealing. She was "Farrah" to the end.
Sad day folks. Just like another vestige of our youth is gone. Are we so very far behind?
Rest in Peace, good lady. I hope it's everything you hoped and dreamed for. You tried to live a good life...it's all any of us can do.
Peace. -
She had a rough road the last 3 years.
What happened to her is sad, but at least her suffering has come to an end.
Hope her family heals and puts aside their addictions. -
She was beautiful and could act
-
Whose sense of humor and inner beauty was more important to her than the glamourous facade. That's why a lot of women bleached their hair and got that hairstyle back then. They didn't just want to look like her. They wanted to be like her.And that Logan's Run clip reminds me how much I love Jenny Agutter. Now there's a natural beauty. I'd trade you a dozen Megan Foxes for one Jenny Agutter.
-
...was top notch spanking material. These days your average twelve year old probably needs at least sixty seconds high-res of something involving three girls from Tajikistan, a two foot long string of pearls, and an unusually frisky goat. Simpler times man. Godspeed.

First David C., then Ed M., now Farrah F.
-
Ever.
-
. . . look out, Burt!!!!
-
im going to hell..i know.
-
Weirdly affected when I heard this. She seemed like a sweet person, very very human, and her struggle against cancer was a brave one - but I think the real answer is that some people are so identified with a time in your life that losing them feels like the shutting of a door. To be that iconic for a generation of lovelorn, hormone-infused boys is not a bad legacy, not bad at all.
-
You're right. They have all these treatments for diseases yet no cures. What was the last one cured, fucking polio?
The money's in keeping you alive as long as they can with the disease and keeping you in constant treatment.

I honestly cannot believe that people do not see through all this 'research' and these fucking endless fundraisers and other bullshit. How much money is being poured into this, and yet they're no closer to a cure? It's all about treatment, isn't it? This kind of goes with what I saw of Obama's medical plan last night. This country is fucked in the ass by one thing - greed. Neverending, perpetual, disgusting GREED. All the questions are like, "But what about our company needing to make $2500 per family, what do we say to our shareholders?" Ummm, that yoking healthcare to profits was a mistake of capitalism to begin with, you fucktard. Are we never supposed to say, "Ok, this doesn't work, sorry guys, you shouldn't be making this much money off of HEALTHCARE." And nobody wants to hear this talk of preventative medicine either. In other words, saying to a patient - "your problem is not enough sun, no exercise, and you eat shit. Stop all that and you won't need any medical care, hence no money spent, no money for big pharma, etc." IS COMPLETELY OUT OF THE QUESTION because there's no money in it.Sorry, but this is something that makes me angrier than anything else as I watched my sister-in-law suffer through treatments for breast cancer all of last year, and get two conflicting reports about it near the end, and they always, ALWAYS find something else just when you think you're finally ok. Of course people are scared to play russian roulette with their life, but you know what? that's exactly what your'e doing by LISTENING to these fucking idiots. I don't go to the doctor because they HAVE tof ind something wrong with you... that's their job. And even for doctors who don't want to prescribe something or just want to say, "You know what your problem is? You're a hypochondriac, now go home, take some advil, and stop complaining," at least 50% of their patients are paying so much for healthcare that they go to the doctor every time they have an itch because 'Hey... I"m spending all this money, might as well get something for it.' Is this the correct attitude to have about OUR HEALTH? give me a fucking break... I don't like Michael Moore, but Sicko made some damn fine points about how fucked up things are.Another medical story - my grandfather, who is built like an ox, worked his ass off his whole life as a construction foreman and was a junk collector (the dude could strip copper wire all day just for the fun of it), and is about as old school as you could get (had a pigeon coup in his yard his whole life), had some heart problems about ten years ago and the doctors told him if he didn't get a quadruple bypass, he wouldn't live another year. Yeah... he's EIGHTY-EIGHT NOW. He told them to fuck off, that of course they'd say that because there's money in it and who's going to argue with the doctors, and that the surgery alone would probably kill him. The big guy is still alive and kicking. R.I.P. Farrah... maybe someday, people will stop dying from cancer because of greed.
-
To the guys poo pooing medical research. We really really want to "cure cancer", but it is a far more complex disease than polio for example. You should really think of each type of cancer as a different disease as each type of cancer functions very differently from each other. Each type of cancer has a very specific treatment and we researchers usually study one form of cancer, not just cancer in general. Another problem is, cancer is part of you. With polio, at least we were attacking an invading entity that our immune system had some resistance to. With cancer, we have to fight essentially our own cells that are diseased and not kill the healthy cells. But you guys know all this. My point is we are working very hard to cure cancer. Please give to a cancer research facility. Farrah, God bless you and rest in peace.

RIP Ed and Farrah -
I remember watching Charlie's Angels as a wee one, on our old tv that used to get really hot at the back. By the way it was Roy Dotrice who dubbed Keitel in Saturn 3.
-
if we find a cure, it will destroy a multi-billion dollar industry. Many, many people will be out of jobs. Money for all those researchers and facilities will dry up. No more excuses for lavish fundraisers. How many people depend upon cancer in order to feed themselves and their families? This was essentially the argument about the health plan last night. 'But we depend upon overpriced healthcare and skyrocketing costs for our 10% annualized returns. How can we compete with 'free'?' The correlative in health care to the auto industry might very well one day be, Who Killed the Cure for Cancer?I'm open-minded, but I find it very difficult to believe that I should trust the answers of the same people who would have to rethink their livelihoods should they find an answer to the problem they're trying to solve.
-
I read an interesting article in Wired a few months ago that talked about funding early detection research. Kind of makes me wonder what strides they're making in that area. The sooner they catch it the easier it is to kill. I suppose this applies more specifically to the most common types of cancer but it could save a lot of lives.
-
Really loved her appearance on Cannonball Run. That whole cast seemed to be enjoying themselves making that movie.
Also, loved Charlie's Angels. Her two castmates and her had some great chemistry on that show. When she left it just wasn't the same. Missing one side of that triangle made it incompleter from there on out.My best to her family and friends. RIP. -
Here I am reading a touching goodbye to Farrah Faucett and I am distracted by an ad on the page featuring two thong-cleaved fat asses advertising cellulite removal! Geez...
Anyway...goodbye Farrah. -
To the twit pooh-pooing research, there ARE cures. Not just endless, expensive 'treatments'. Heck, my late father had been diagnosed as being in the terminal phase of cancer of the lymph nodes and there was nothing to do ... except they just came out with a new form of radiation therapy which shrank the tumour just enough that they were able to operate and rid him of it. He wound up living cancer-free for another fifteen years. Trouble is, what worked against that cancer doesn't necessarily work against other types. Early detection really does matter.
-
It was confirmed they never married. So sad.

dixieflyer, it's not the researchers that are the problem
by soylentmean
it's the people who "fund" the research. Pharmaceutical companies exist to make a PROFIT and have no interest in CURING anything.
That's like believing tobacco companies are really and for true pursuing a tobacco that doesn't have addictive qualities.
If pure, non-profit driven research were actually behind the search for a cure for cancer, well then I would support the cause. I just can't help thinking that cancer has been cured and that cure was buried right with the person (or persons) whom discovered it.
It's a suspicious thing, to say the least. And I most certainly tend to say way more than the least. -
The swimsuit poster may have sold more, but I preferred the one of her in that thin white top as she looked right into the camera. Do the words 'steaming hot' ring a bell?
I'm just glad she was able to show her real acting talents in THE BURNING BED. A lot more people took her seriously after that. -
The next great stride in genetic blueprinting will most likely aid insurance companies, rather than potential cancer victims. Early detection is great, if you haven't been dropped from your insurance because you might, some day perhaps slightly possibly develop cancer.
-
I had her poster on my wall before I even knew what masturbation was: I just thought she was a sunny, sexy, cute blonde in a red bathing suit. Later I saw her in movies and thought she had a great presence in everything she did. She was a icon for the 70's and will be missed.
-
Fine. If each cancer is like a different disease then shouldn't they have cured at least one by now?
I'm not saying there's nobody in the medical research profession who doesn't care it's just we have thousands of drugs for every thing from crazy leg syndrome to erectial disfunction. It seems most of the time and money is spent on short term prevention or long term treatment.
I want to pick up the paper one day and "Cure for Cancer found, and it's free!" And every once in a while I do read about some study in Finland or some such place where they managed to eradicate cancer cells from a group of twenty mice with no reaccurance of the disease, then I never hear another word about it.
If all the money that went to continuing treament went to finding a cure I'm sure they'd come up with something pretty quick. -
I mean yes it is sad to lose a loved one...but if nobody ever died we would be an over populated, over run planet and would just eventually destroy ourselves (something we are doing now anyways). Cancer is the universe’s answer to thinning out the population because we has humans are greedy and don't know when to stop repopulating the species (why must some people have 7 or 8 kids, it should be limited to no more then 3 for the next 50 to 60 years to combat over population)Trust me, you cry now but when the world has gone post apocalyptic you'll be begging for more cancer deaths if only to eliminate potential competition for the scarce oxygen and resources the earth is left with
-
I've got a "C" word for you.
Cunt. Watch a loved one die from cancer and then spout that shit. -
Sure there are people getting rich off of treatments for cancer but there are many many more of us who take very little in the form of wages and work many hours of over time each week for free because we care about what we are doing. Give to a non-profit research group and you will usually be supporting people that really care about helping their fellow man and not getting rich. The majority of researchers are good people who put their lives into their work and don't ask for or make a large salary. Look for and accentuate the positive as well as debase the corruption and greed. Also, there is no conspiracy stopping the "cure". If we cure a cancer, we will still have to cure all the other forms of cancer and those cancers will more than likely evolve to become resistant to what ever "cure" we come up with. Finding one cure will not put people out of work, if anything more people will be hired to find out why that cure worked and how we can apply it to other forms of cancer. Even if all cancer was magically cured tomorrow all the researchers would just focus on something else, like MRSA, the common cold, HIV or erectile dysfunction. And this is good, because at any given moment we really do not have enough scientist working on all the problems that plague mankind.

When you read of cancer cells being cured in mice, that is usually proof of concept. We are able to control every aspect of the mice physiology and even control exactly what their cancer is like. If a treatment works in mice it usually means in this perfectly controlled situation this cure has a proof of concept. Now translating that treatment into the far far more complex physiology of humans causes many problems. The treatment may not respond at all in humans. Cancer is one of the last things to be cured because it is seriously the most complex disease we encounter. Remember we are seeing up to 90% and better recovery rates in some forms of cancer that were 99.9% fatal 60 years ago. That is not a 100% cure but it is a sign of hard work moving in the right direction.
-
Cancer isn't "the universe’s answer to thinning out the population" (big rocks from space is).I understand your mentality, I'm a bit of a misanthrope myself (more of a Inhumanist actually), but I've worked at a health food store for years and have had to see people go thru cancer and would never wish the shit on anyone. I understand that we are overpopulated and a culling of the herd in inevitable, but cancer doesn't really kill anyone, it just slowy eats away at a person till they can't live. It (depending on which form) is fucking awful.Cancer isn't necessary to lower the population, if you really wanted to go balls out and declare what would be "good" to the human population overall in order for survival, go with killing off the Catholic church/faith (no offense to anyone, I'm alluding to the no contriceptive/abortion rules).
-
you have something against GRODIN???he was in midnight fuckin run!!!
-
yeah go fuck yourself
-
IndyAbbey Jones = cunt.
-
Yeah, the theory that the earth is going to be overpopulated and we'll be fighting for food and resources is not a new thing. Back in 1968 there was a book called "The Population Bomb" by Paul Ehrlich that said: "in the 1970s and 1980s hundreds of millions of people will starve to death" due to overpopulation. This of course, didn't happen. The major epidemic in western society is now obesity, not starvation. Sure, there are pockets of the world where starvation is still a threat, but no where near as bad as it was 40 years ago.
Also, cancer is a poor way to cut down the population. I doubt it's really nature's doing. Nature likes the big pandemics that wipe out big swaths of humanity in a short amount of time. Cancer is something different. But who really knows.
But perhaps someone such as yourself with no empathy at all will just wipe us out with The Bomb or something. I've seen less evolved people like you that think that empathy as being an asset, when of course it isn't at all.
But anyway, weak troll. Try harder. -
I'll give him Midnight Run. Fuck the rest of him.

i still have Lost theories to check up on.
-
We are gathered here today. Would anyone like to say a few words on behalf of IndyAbbeyJones?

Bye, Farrah... sorry you had such bad taste in men. :(
by theghostwholurks
Seriously... you make The Burning Bed and latch onto Ryan O'Neal for the rest of your life??? But despite your poor romantic judgment, we still loved you and you'll be missed. You deserved better.
-
I remember the posters of her advertised in the comics I had in 70's. Watched her in Charlie's Angels and loved her in Extrematies. God bles you my dear. I hope your at peace. x
-
:( :( :(
-
I remember seeing the Saturn 3 trailer as a kid. That eye thing with Farrah FREAKED me out. Still does.
-
i must have been 12 when i saw it the first time.creepy scifi movie.
-
Did you actually just spam an obituary column with a link to your stupid fucking website? You truly are the lowest form of human filth I have ever seen.
-
my homepage is CNN and every time I open it I always think "Here it comes...Farrah's obit on the front page" and have been thinking this for months now. Every single day, several times a day and today was the day. Weird I know but...trueNow that it has happened I am sad. I was just starting my career of jacking off when Farrah's poster came out. Now, I actually didn't think she was all that hot like most of my friends back then did but I still liked those nipples of hers. I always preferred jerking to Jaclyn Smith pics.So long Farrah. No more suffering.

by dannyglovers_dickblood
And in the Carradine board the whole fucking place was lobbing handfuls of shit at the man with no problem? Please. Give me a fucking break you fake ass holier than thou douchebag.
-
is that it was directed by Stanley Donen. The director behind Singin In The Rain, Charade, Bedazzled, and Two For The Road, to name just a few. As big an early '80s WTF as John Huston directing Annie...what the fuck.

There are numerous beautiful women, but she had a sweetness too
by brokenheath
...an innocence that often labelled her ditzy or dumb. But as she showed was able to take on tough roles in The Burning Bed and Extremeties among others. I just saw footage of Ryan O'Neal leaving the hospital after her death and paparazzi are yelling questions at him. Don't those assholes have any respect for people in grief?
-
It's a shame about IndyAbbeyJones and DANNYGLOVERS_DICKFORBRAIN but at least everyone else is showing respect here.
-
I've been meaning to ask you this. How does Barry feel about your internet antics, especially all the times you've done it from work? Do you think he's proud?
-
horrendous, just horrendous. Basically said that cancer was good and useful as population control. So, it was ejaculate from a useless cunt, and it went too far.
Yes, that was a squirting analogy. -
So sad. I was surprised she was 62, I remember the poster well, it hung in my bedroom for years. I remember a cameo she made in the last scene of the Fall Guy pilot - a bittersweet scene with ex-husband Lee Majors. Rest in Peace.
-
Jun 25, 2009 4:00:41 PM CDT
Sure, I respect her just fine but let's be fucking real here
by stuntcock mike
Her career has been shit since she got off the Bionic cock. Fucking relax.
-
Farrah will be remembered forever. She was a hottie. Get over it.
-
Gerbil boy and oisin -now who's being inappropriate?
idiots in glass houses... -
I never thought I'd say that.
-
I said it already...

goodbye farrah

I'll make it quick. RIP Farrah.

I whacked it to that poster several hundred times...

I'm being honest.

none of those dumbfucks would think to bring any rocks. Just a bag of Nerf Turbos.
-
perhaps now is the time to break in the morgue while it's still warm. :(
-
Why are you inappropriately trying to start a flame war here? This is an OBITUARY.If your mother should perish of cancer in the near future and is lucky enough to have a messageboard devoted to them, I hope you're EQUALLY forgiving of someone stating exactly what IndyAbbeyJones said earlier, and someone else spamming the same board with a link to their website.I'm not posting on here again out of respect for the deceased.

I didn't say a single bad thing about Farrah...
by dannyglovers_dickblood
....in here. Yet everyone is gettin' crazy. Fuck this.
-
...ah this site never gets old...
-
Nothing is sacred to you motherfuckers, yet when someone dies you're all over the first person who isn't crying their eyes out. Fuck you. You don't give a shit about Farrah Fawcett. You don't give a shit about anything and you're not fooling me. If Shia LeWhatever died tomorrow, you'd all be sucking his postmortem 4 inch dick pretending like you loved him all along. What a joke.

today according to TMZ. Wow. What a crazy week.

http://www.tmz.com/2009/06/25/michael-jackson-rushed-to-the-hospital/
-
Yeah, talkbackers will talk shit about all that and more. But a human life? We have some empathy.
-
Cancer is a beast. It left an indelible mark on my family.
I have no idea if there are conspiracies, but what dixieflyer said is true. Every cancer is different and so research and treatments must differ. Support research and, most of all, support sufferers.
By the way, being "old school" and denial and disdaining treatment is not a viable plan. No doubt there are folks who go into remission. God blessed them. Do not count on being so lucky yourself. -
Most don't have empathy, honestly. It's all a ploy. These people are the lowest of the low. I'm done here.
-
First Farrah, now Michael Jackson just suffered from Cardiac Arrest. FUUUUUCK!!!!!
-
growltiger, it left a mark on many of our families.
OLAPARIB is a new drug, literally announced today that showed amazing results in prelim tests. it closes down one of the bodies own primary cellular repair routes, which means that the body uses a secondary route - this alternate is causing the tumours to stabilize and in many cases to actually shrink.
News report here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/8116790.stm -
What is happening today?
-
should i feel sorry for someone who may have molested some children. I am so conflicted. Oh fuck it Long live MJ!
-
Maybe. Always in three"s....
-
Wow, that's fucking crazy.
-
Fuck, is Michael Jackson dead???
Local broadcaster KABC has said the 50-year-old singer was taken by ambulance to the UCLA Medical Center.
The Los Angeles Times has reported he was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his home.
The paramedics performed CPR and took him to the medical centre, the newspaper says. No further details were available.
-
Is it lonely up there on your pedastil?
-
She seemed to be a nice, humble person and not just a pretty face. I think I still have my Charlie's Angels cards.
-
And she had it detected way before, but the doctors said it was ok to just take out the small cancerous speck and chemo wasn't necessary. Bad diagnosis. Turns out there was still some undetected and grew unknown for four years. So take it from someone who knows: if a doctor says chemo isn't needed, call them and your HMO on their bullshit.
-
Farrah gone, Michael to follow?
-

A real icon of the '70's is gone, and she worked hard to carve out a creditable TV film career(Burning Bed, etc) in the '80's. Sorry she's gone.

You were an instrumental part of my youth. Your beauty will be everlasting as we will remember you. You would have made the perfect Dagny Taggert.

Michael Jackson Dies! This is the celebrity death of our lifetim
by orionsangels
Wow I can't believe it!
-
'Sez the Jacko was rushed to UCLA medical center this afternoon after suffering cardiac problems. No report of death however: "Michael Jackson rushed to hospital (Updated) 2:06 PM June 25, 2009 Pop star Michael Jackson was rushed to a hospital this afternoon by Los Angeles Fire Department paramedics. Capt. Steve Ruda said paramedics responded to a call at Jackson's home around 12:26 p.m. He was not breathing when they arrived. The parademics performed CPR and took him to UCLA Medical Center, Ruda told The Times. Updated at 2:12 p.m.: Paramedics were called to a home on the 100 block of Carolwood Drive off Sunset Boulevard. Jackson rented the Bel Air home for $100,000 a month. It was described as a French chateau estate built in 2002 with seven bedrooms, 13 bathrooms, 12 fireplaces and a theater. The home is about 2 1/2 miles, about a six-minute drive, from UCLA Medical Center. An earlier version of this post incorrectly described the time to travel between the home and hospital as two minutes."
-
"never got his color back"
-
No one knows what's going on! Crazy! Damn, what a sad day.
-
TMZ broke the news. Sky News is confirming it now.
-
Beat it!
-
Wait for somewhere more reliable to confirm it. And no, not Sky News.
-
Abe Vigoda will outlive everyone!! The man drinks goat's blood and communes with Satan!!! All hail the great Abe Vigoda!!
-
So they're not confirming it after all.
-
They said he died like an hour ago.
-
I can't handle all of this. David Carradine, Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett and Michael Jackson. God Fucking dammit.
-
TMZ.
-
according to TMZ
-
Is not a reliable source.
-
With papery skin. They are still operating under the assumption that Jackson is alive. I think...
-
I'd trade 10 of her to get Michael Jackson off the planet and still call it a bargain. Seriously, she was early puberty fapping material for many (myself included) and a valuable commodity even with a cancer filled bung hole but he's been a recurring nightmare for millions for as long as his zombie albino ass has been stalking children to cuddle with. Deal or No Deal? I say Deal!
-
This year is just terrible.
-
My childhood hero is dead !
-
I'm going to go somewhere and get drunk (from the physical pain, I wasn't joking the Box TB last about my toe. I completely ripped off my toe nail on my big toe) hopefully no one else will die in the mean time.
-
For two reasons... Reputable sources have to (sometimes) follow the law, (such as Federal Privacy Law) and so have to wait for a Doctor to officially call it, and sometimes for the next of kin to be told before the public can be informed. And second, because TMZ is not "reputable", they can rely on the phone-call tips, which are often accurate though not-official.
You can bet that the guy lugging doctor equipment around the ward for minimum wage, isn't going to pass the chance up to sell the confirmation to one of the only sites that will run it. -
This mufucker pulls this shit every time he has to do something important. Remember when he was admitted to the hospital during his trial. All I got to say is, keep him away from the pediatric ward.
-
Because he was a kiddie fiddler? Or do we just not mention that and talk about the great entertainer that he was?
Just want to know what the TB is gonna look like... -
Well, apparently Jeff Goldblum died too.
-
This news hit me harder than I thought it would. As an adult, I haven't spent much time thinking about Farrah at all, but when I was a kid I had a huge crush on her.
She was a goddess to 1970s kids -- the hottest woman in the solar system and married to the coolest guy on the planet, Lee motherfucking Majors.
As for THAT poster, I saved up money and bought it a Wynn's five and dime in Austin back in 1977. I still have the poster and have considered framing it every now and then, but promptly forgotten about it soon after. I may just have to do it now.
Man, I feel old.
R.I.P. -
I'm not broken up over it. Would never say he didn't have talent... I can even listen to Thriller... but I don't have to like the man.
-
to the test, and tell us if he's dead? URI fucking GELLAR is on BBC spouting his bullshit at the moment...
-
Previously they reported Jackson was in a coma. Now, dead.
-
Or something.
-
If they change it, or call it, please provide a link.

Awesome movie. Completely retarded and awful, but compelling nevertheless. A Kirk Douglas disco-era sci-fi movie. Fan-fucking-tastic.
And Hector is one creepy ass robot. Something hideous and disturbing about the way he/it moved or something. Could never put my finger on it. -
The L.A. Times report only said Jacko was not breathing when paramedics arrived at his palatial estate. We don't know how long he was in that condition before they got there. May be some brain damage there, in which case he'd be better off dead than in a vegetative state.
-
Main headline at latimes dot com.
-
Complete digression, sorry, but amidst these heady times I am stunned that Jim Moray still collects a paycheck.
-
CNN & Fox News are still on the fence. The former states the pop star is in a coma.
-
Reports via L.A. Times that Michael Jackson dies. Pending confirmation I guess.
-
masturbatory fantasy figure died today. And he's not talking about Farrah Fawcett.
-
and haven't given it back yet. Expect to see it on ebay soon.
-
but as a Brit I'll wait till the BBC confirm it.
-
www.msnbc.com
-
But BBC still waiting to hear from a representative of the hospital

I am not superstitious, but, well, there it is.

"The *other* white meat."
-
The Grim Reaper sure has been busy lately!
-
They're gonna have some words on the other side I'm sure.
-
That's all kinds of fucked up.
-
I'll now believe it. The news has just been announced at the Glastonbury Festival. A lot of Jacko covers being played there tomorrow I'll bet.
-
I blame it on the bogey.
-
Jack Elam's been dead since 2003... so that leaves Burt Reynolds. Your gum-chewing days are numbered, Burt!

nothing about Farrah. Jackson FTW.
-
to find out that Michael Jackson was a black guy.
-
poor farrah.
-
RIP Farrah......you've always been an angel, just now one with wings. I still have that poster, and a cup with the same design. The thing that impressed me the most was what a gifted artist she was. Her paintings and sculptures were absolutely amazing. She will be missed, and had beauty in more ways than one. Rest in peace and thank you for all the beauty you brought into our lives.
-
62...way too young and you never wanna see one of your childhood crushes die
-
Amen. Ditto about Jax--though he's best remembered singing 'ABC' or 'Rock With You' than post Thriller.
-
Got to give 'em credit...
-
Bless her and her family.
-
went out with a fight..we should all be so brave when we face it.
-
No way I would go through treatment like that. No Px drugs or anything except pain killers, booze and dope and go out rocking!
-
My first crush.
-
Farrah and MJ? Wow, watch your back Micheal Bay...God is ANGRY!!
-
Someone had to say it. RIP Farrah, you angel.
-
This just gets worse and worse.
-
And so is Brandon Routh. Thank God
-
this talkback is getting wiped out by the MJ talkback, just wanted to give her a sympathy vote.
-
Hope she is at peace.
-
She was a decent actress, who sadly was forever typecast by a poster, and by all accounts a decent and humble human. Even more, her work in documenting her own illness was incredibly honest and brave. It really is too bad her passing and contributions are overshadowed by the circus across town.
-
Abe Vigoda will outlive everyone!! All hail the great Abe Vigoda!!
-
I was first in the Michael Jackson death article. Just thought that you should know. Because it's important, ya know? That's ok though. I have a small penis. I'm just compensating.
-
Dang
-
I know I shouldn't. I'm not exactly a fan and I'm too young to be turned on by her when she was young (born in '81). But, it's just such a terrible way to go, and it hit me waaaaaay too close to home.
Last year, my mom got sick at the end of June with liver cancer. It couldn't be removed because it started to spread. The doctors said they'd try to nuke it with chemotherapy once she recovered from surgery.
Only, she got worse. She found it harder to walk, talk, and even move her hands. She contracted type II diabetes and we had to move her around in a wheelchair and keep a commode near her wherever she was.
Each week was a nightmare. Eventually she lost the ability to speak altogether. Then she couldn't even nod her head. Then she heard voices and started talking to no one in particular. Then she couldn't speak again. In her last week, she couldn't even swallow.
She died at the University of Chicago Hospital on Sept. 20th at 9:30 pm. A month or so afterwards, the doctors found out she also had pancreatic cancer.
The entire period of her being sick was the very end of June to near the end of September. She was just a month shy of 62 years of age, and she had both liver and pancreatic cancer. Farrah had liver and anal cancer and was 62 when she died.
It's a horrible, awful thing her family is going through. I should know. I really wish I could offer my condolences. -
Whick sucks beacause her poster *was* bitchin in the 80s
Times tickin fellas-what have you done lately?
-
I totally forgot about that shit!!!
Goddamit-she even had hardcore geek cred despite all the crap in later life...
Fuck somebody post that old school sexy poster she published circa 1979 maybe 82-damn
and to have all the tabloid shit as you succumb to cancer-fucking papparazi= -
Damn, I'm afraid to wake up tomorrow.
-
Because last Friday I lost a dear Aunt to Pancreatic cancer, what a terrible ordeal, to see someone go from healthy to death in a short three months, I feel for Ryan O'Neil and his family, unfortunately I know exactly what they are going through.
-
FUCK cancer man
-
the wall of the bedroom we shared. I obsessed over those nipples for hours at a time. OK, more like minutes. Good memory. RIP Farrah. Oh yeah, fuck Michael Jackson.
-
has left the building...too....
Jeff Goldblum fell off a cliff while filming a movie in New Zealand this morning...I think he deserves some of this attention too.
-
awwww, i'm so sweet.

R.I.P. Farrah

...and may you know joy there, in God's arms!!!

I think it was TV GUIDE which had anarticle where, at one point, described her famous hairdo as "...hair which looked as though she'd just got out of bed, and was ready to climb right back in again..." Yeah, that was about right. Then one looks at the mostly short, dull hairstyles of today and ... :p
-
her hairdos. R.I.P.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned her small but important role in this fine movie. By all accounts she was a fine and gentle person. A class act.RIP

leave their husbands for their husband's best friend.
-
Farrah, you will be missed. You always came off as such beautiful person, both inside and out. And not like some of the wannabe whore's or social sluts of our time. You came across as someone who emitted real class whoever you went. As someone who had the whole package, not just part of the picture. You are one of the the very last of a golden era for women. When women, could still be women, and not have to pretend to be like men or something else. You showed us, beauty, brains, and courage. You showed us that there was still something decent left in the world in a time when chaos and disillusion was pretty high. It hurts so damn much to know that you have passed. So very damn much. I dreaded hearing about this. You were won of the best Farrah. There will never be anyone else like you. Thanks for everything.
D.L. Stahl -
Wednesday nights at 9pm on ABC never have been the same since she left.
-
It sucks that Michael Jackson’s death is totally over shadowing Farah Fawcett’s. This could have been an opportunity to get the word out and get some support for cancer research but now she’s just sort of disappeared. I feel bad for her family too. And yes I posted this on the MJ talk back too.
-
I only met Farrah once but she seemed like a wonderful person. Rest in peace Farrah. My heart goes out to her family. Peace.
-
Did I shout that loud enough? I loved that poor show.

Tough week huh?

AND GETS AIDS ALSO THAT LITTLE BITCH.
