Hey folks, here's Grant to clarify on some of the small inaccuracies that were posted in that DUNGEONS AND DRAGONS report from yesterday. And the man does know of what he speaks. Here ya go...

I thought I'd just clear up a few slight inaccuracies from the report today. Feel free to pass this on to your readers.

1) I mentioned a Showest trailer as only my opinion, based on my experience on films like Titanic. While I think my guess is logical, it has no basis in fact, so should not be taken with any more accuracy than that. In other words, nobody had better hold Joel Silver or SweetPea to the hot coals if no trailer appears until they are darn good and ready. Nuff said.

2) The number of creatures mentioned is innaccurate, as neither Dave or I gave a figure for that. I think someone heard the number of spells guesses (like 10-20 maybe) and attributed that to creatures. Fair enough. For the record, there aren't 20 different creature types in the movie (budget obviously). It is Corey's contention that a handful of creatures done flawlessly is better than a score of cheesy critters. As reported in the trades, there are occasions when scores of dragons are battling on screen at one time though. :)

Anything else was either dead on or not off enough to worry about. Well done, Dungeon Master!

Also, your readers should take note that Dave Arneson owns no rights to D&D anymore. They were sold some time ago and he has no vested financial interest in the D&D franchise or the movie. He volunteered his own seminar time at the show to give his impressions of the film and I was there just to read the PR boilerplate and help out my friend. Dave is also well known as an outspoken critic of gaming industry happenings when they weren't to his liking, so anyone who wants to claim that Dave would never say anything but good things about a D&D movie might want to check their facts first.

I feel this film is going to surprise a lot of people. I am already proud I had a small part in making it happen. I hope the Movie Gods continue to bless it.
