‘It Wasn’t Just The Winning!! It Was The Constant Winning!!’ Herc Laughs At Tonight’s First New BETTER OFF TED Of June!!

Just a reminder here that ABC is running new episodes of “Better Off Ted,” from the creator of “Andy Richter Controls The Universe,” starting Tuesday night. The previous new episode was aired May 5.
Once the sitcom finishes its summer run, it goes away until its second season launches in early 2010.
ABC says of tonight’s installment:
EXECUTIVES TED AND VERONICA TRY MINGLING WITH THE WORKER BEES, WITH MIXED RESULTS, ON THE RETURN OF ABC'S "BETTER OFF TED"
"You Are the Boss of Me" With daughter Rose out of town, Ted tries socializing with Lem and Phil. They reluctantly invite him to their Medieval Fight Club, held in Veridian's basement. Once Ted's sucked into the action, he finds he can't stop, oblivious to the fact that his presence is making everyone else feel like they're still on the clock. Meanwhile, Linda attempts to befriend Veronica and realizes they might be better off staying in a boss/employee relationship. Written by Dan O'Shannon. Directed by Paul Lazarus.
I saw it and I laughed. Ted almost kills a guy. And Andrea Anders cavorts in a Xena outfit.

I do watch the show. I just don't think its anything special. If it gets cancelled no big whoop. Also Wipeout is a lot funnier then this. Its just like Andy Richer Controls the Universe. Also I work in a huge corporation, so its not like I don't get the joke.

I can't find any information on whether or not the new Wiseguy season set will have the original music included. The previous company produced the DVD's with the music replaced, obviously to save $$. I'd grab that season set if I knew what the deal with the music on the set was.

this show was renewed. The quirkiness of it has kept me laughing every time I see it.

I had assumed the previous pricey DVDs had had the original music and this new one didn't (since it seems to be much cheaper). But you're saying the first set didn't have it; makes me think this one won't either.

can't say whether these new releases will have the music--I hope the REASON for the new releases is that they worked thru whatever rights/usage issues they had previously, and now the original is back. I pre-ordered, anyway--12.99 is not too big a risk to take, I think.

PS I ordered the new D&D cartoon set today from Amazon, but didn't click through from AICN because Herc keeps leaving the talkback closed. That'll learn 'em. -

Was about to shit on 'Ted', but I could only suffer through the first three ep's. Hope it was funnier, because what I saw was brutal.

Or whatever episode it was where they installed new sensors that couldn't see black people. I watch it for Portia de Rossi and the two dorks. Veronica might be the greatest female character in comedy. The Ted and Linda stuff is less interesting.

...comedies I've seen in a long time. And not better than Rescue Me now? Hmmm...apples and oranges, but if you told me I had to choose two episodes of Ted or one of this season's Me and spend the next hour watching it...yeah, I'm watching Better Off Ted.

the next three. The show pretty much improved episode by episode, with the exception (I thought) being the last ep, which wasn't as good as the preceding three.

If you have your DVR set to record, you might want to make sure it's actually recording tonight... Time Warner here in San Diego thinks it's a repeat.

This episode was so, so good. The writing on this show is really working so hard and getting like no attention.

at being the first black mayor of tiny town 'fingers crossed'. Funny. I used to feed my sister in her sleep so she wouldn't be skinnier then me. This was by far the best episode of the season.

Patrick Troughton is also quite dead. So, they'll either have to digitize the first three or repurpose old footage. Also, I will be shocked if they get Eccleston back. -
I recorded it from the Buffalo ABC station but on watching it this morning, a minute into it, I was watching what looked like a public-access show called (I think) Entertainment Toronto. I thought the feed was taken over by the Canadian station, the wrong button was pushed and instead of getting Better Off Ted with Canadian ads we were subjected to some Rogers original programing. However, in checking next week's listing it seems the Canadian channel that carries BoT airs it at 9:00, not 9:30. So there's no reason anyone should have been monkeying with the feed.Anyone else experience this? Know what happened?

Another great ep. "I hate the doppler project!" "and I hate Joe! So everybody wins." Also, I'm really diggin' Andrea Anders as a comedic actress. I like her delivery and timing. And that Xena ain't bad either;-)

It's subtle, it's working up to its comedy, and not everything has to be BIG IN YOUR FACE SLAM DUNK humor, some are thinkers, some are enjoying being stupid, and some are sight gags. This show is what sitcoms should be, even when they're not immediate hits, and I was shocked, SHOCKED to see ABC pick it up for another season. Good for them, and good for us. And good for Veronica, feeding her sister in her sleep, that is some fucked up awesome evil chick shit!!!

the funniest part of that one for me was the drinking fountain. like it wasnt bad enough they had to install another one for them to use, it actually had a sign that said "colored people" or something to that effect. that's just funny.

That was indeed funny, but the entire ep had me floored. All the black dudes stuck in the elevator: "we should never have let that white guy off".

It's really an awesome combo, and I hate anything even remotely sitcom=like. I'm going to enjoy however many episodes they make before they stupidly cancel it. -
