Ahoy, squirts! Quint here with a pair of spy pics nabbed by one sharp eyed reader during filming of Kevin Smith's newest flick A COUPLE OF DICKS. I believe this is the first time we've seen Seann William Scott's elusive "Shit Bandit." And then there's also Tracy Morgan looking totally like Tracy Morgan in a blue shirt!
Smith catches a lot of shit, but I like his stuff. And this one looks to be throwing a bunch of great people together. Seeing a buddy cop movie with Bruce Willis and Tracy Morgan has enough potential just by itself that the rest of the movie could just be icing on the cake.

the blurring between the two ebs and flows, it's fascinating. when they had Jordan appear on local news shows yelling about nonsense just so they could use it in a Tracy Jordan montage on 30 Rock, I remember thinking, "how sure am I that this is actually the truth?"funny is funny, no matter how they go about it, I guess. Tracy (both names) is the best part of 30 Rock, and I'm loving it.

Kevin Smith is basically Larry the Cable Guy for people who read comic books. That probably sounds more derisive then I intended...but, I think they're both talented individuals who use substandard material out of laziness or contempt for their audience.

His humor has gotten old, but the fact that he's directing someone elses script has me somewhat excited. The guy knows comedic timing and his actors and directs them well. Add Tracy Morgan to the mix and you have me excited about this movie.

since Dogma. I think Kevin has talent, but he needs to work with a strong producer that also has an eye for good comedy. Scott Mosier is his friend first, producer second. That rarely produces great movies.

Mosier as a weak producer? Maybe .. I don't know how many viewskus he has done .. however, I think a 20 million $ clerks would have been better too. I am a fanboy .. I will admit. flame me. But I just connect with his shit more than I connect with top 10 cineplex bs constantly vomited out each season.

I'm sensing a lot of jealosy in you tbers rage against K.Smith. Yeah, he's was a "slacker", put together some cash to film his own movie. Clerks made like a hundred times more than it cost to make. Studios continue to let Kev make what he wants cause they're all relatively low budget, they always see some return. As far as talent, I like dick and fart jokes. I think Smith was went to that well once too many times. But as the joker said, "if you're good at something, never do it for free."

There are times in many of Smith's films where it is readily evident they don't have much budget, but I will always be impressed that Mosier produced Chasing Amy for $250,000. That is quite an accomplishment.

I've done my share of Kevin Smith bashing in the past, but when I laid eyes on the outrageous hijinks in these set pics I know I'll feel empty and inadequate inside if I miss this one. I mean, that shot of the guys with the black masks just standing around? I spewed my coffee all over my keyboard! And that pic of Tracy Jordon calling his coke dealer in between scenes? I think I sprung a new 'roid or two trying to stifle my near-uncontrollable laughter. See? THIS is what this site is all about, getting the scoop, telling it like it is, and showing the media in it's earliest, most embryonic stages so we can all sit, climb on our respective bitch buggies and whip those horses straight through to hate town. Somebody go, my lead threw a shoe!

That would be great-Morgans 1960ish martini cool over sexed spacedman. Funny as shit. Also his other character, 'BRIAN FELLOWS SAFARI PLANET' is hilarious as well. Those two characters alone are worth the price of admission. Make it so...

Smith's limitations show up when you compare him to a peer like, say Linklater. Both same generation, outside Hollywood mainstream, a certain quirky geek sensibility. They start off with Slacker (or Dazed & Confused if you like) on the one hand and Clerks on the other. Good start for both, right? Enjoyed by critics and fans alike, proclaimed for showing tons of potential. Okay. Then Linklater goes on to make Before Sunrise, Waking Life, and A Scanner Darkly, to name a few. Smith goes on to give us Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma, JSBSB and Jersey Girl (to hit the highlights.) Except for the imagination shown by Dogma, you don't see a lot of evolution or breadth in Kevin Smith's stuff.

It wasn't called the Jersey Trilogy for nothing...but now there's 6 of them. So, I'm not sure what to call it anymore.Point is, they didn't wander too far from each other with creativity in characters or ideas ..except Dogma,bc obviously Alyssa (C.A) wasn't God or an angel, but you get the idea.

for me he is clerks / mallrats / chasing amy / dogma .. everything else .. miss fires .. but this will be something I will look forward to .. if not to just see where Kevin is at in his head

Evening with Kevin Smith and Smodcast are fucking hysterical. The man is a fantastic storyteller. As a director, he hasn't been able to top Chasing Amy, which was brilliant. Otherwise, fuck all of you whiny bitches. If you don't like Kevin Smith's movies, then I'd like to see your shitty attempt at film making. At least he actually has the balls to make something and put it out there to be ripped apart.
