CAPRICA!! DOLLHOUSE!! FRINGE!! LOST!! THE PRISONER!! TRUE BLOOD!! V!! The Trib’s Mo Ryan Has A List Of 23 Comic-Con TV Panels!!

Published at:  Jun 12, 2009 2:36:03 AM CDT

I am – Hercules!!

Chicago Tribune TV critic Maureen Ryan has compiled a list of 23 panels publicizing new and returning TV series at San Diego Comic-Con this year.

Apparently absent is a “Heroes” panel, presumably because producers fear the unanswerable fan question: "Why isn’t Bryan Fuller running this show?" They fear that, plus all the booing. (“Heroes” will however “have a presence” at the con, according to series mastermind Tim Kring.)

From the Trib:

I thought it might be worthwhile to list every show that's been confirmed, either by myself, by Seat42f or Eonline's Watch With Kristin.

Below are all the Comic-Con TV panels that have been confirmed so far, in alphabetical order:

"Battlestar Galactica: The Plan" (this is at the "likely" stage, it's not 100 percent confirmed)
"Big Bang Theory"
"Caprica"
"Chuck"
"Dexter"
"Dollhouse"
"Eastwick"
"Eureka"
"Flash Forward"
"Fringe"
"Human Target"
"Legend of the Seeker"
"Lost"
"MythBusters"
"Past Life"
"The Prisoner"
"Psych"
"Sanctuary"
"Smallville"
"Stargate Universe"
"Supernatural"
"True Blood"
"V"
"Vampire Diaries"
"Warehouse 13"

Among the "maybes," as reported by those sites mentioned above: "24," "Glee," "Ghost Whisperer" and "Bones."

Comic-Con this year runs July 22-26.

"Glee" seems like it would be an odd fit for Comic-con...

    by flickchick85

But I would totally go that panel if I weren't on the east coast. Despite Herc's non-recommendation, I loved that pilot, and the cast and crew seem to have actual talent - a rare commodity on network tv these days.

Not surprised, I have to admit at no 'Heroes' panel.

    by pennsydeux

Kring and company would've been booed out of San Diego, much less the convention center.

Who is actually going to show up to...

    by judge briggs

Vampire Diaries? (I bet the panel is moved to a conference room that holds 12).

    Dollhouse..

    by engelhast

Anyone that is passing judgment on that show without having seen the last three episodes of the season needs to shut the fuck up. Those three alone were easily among some of Joss Whedon's best work. Yes the show started weak which I blame Fox for that mostly but it has shapped up to be a damn good show.

    No DOCTOR WHO panel?

    by spyguy

I understand if Steven Moffat is busy getting ready for Series Five in 2010, but did they even try to get upcoming Doctor Matt Smith or new companion Karen Gillan? Or is there a combined BBC America panel since they're showing better sci-fi than Siffy these days?

No Heroes is not big surprise

    by shutupfanboy

I heard they were actually filming this week, so they have other things to worry about then answering meaningless fanboy questions. You can thank that really great internet should have been canceled Chuck for the early start. I fucking hate Chuck and their idiot fans. I will say the guest list so far this year is a big letdown. Maybe the panels will change that, but I don't expect the guest to do autographs or even take pictures with, so I pass.

I agree with Engelhast, Dollhouse's three episodes were better then Lost's entire season. People are shitting on it, because its the trendy new internet thing to do like now bashing Star Trek. Fucking sheep.

    Engelhast, I respectfully disagree

    by toasterslayer

The last three episodes of Dollhouse (and the first season in general) wasn't better than any single episode of Firefly and didn't even come close to matching the greatness that was BtVS or Angel. "Man on the Street" and "Spy in the House of Love" started to gain momentum but those last three lost it for me. I still have high hopes for season two though and am glad to see it coming back.

  • Shutupfanboy, what color is the sky in your world? People aren't shitting on DOLLHOUSE because it's the "trendy internet thing to do." They're shitting on it because it's a poorly executed show centered around unlikeable characters and putting Eliza Dushku in kinky outfits.

    No Interesting characters = Lost

    by shutupfanboy

The color is blue, because I actually get out of my house which I own to see the world as opposed to some of you in your parent's basement. The characters are interesting and there is nothing wrong with Eliza in kinky outfits unless you are a gay man which I am not. And yes, Lost is the great example of pussy ass characters with no hope of any resolution for this show. I expect the St. Eleswhere ending for Lost and then we will see how much you fanboys love it. You say its not trendy, but I guarantee I will have ten posts on this thread that have nothing to do with the panel, but bash Dollhouse for no reason. Just like you did.

Ok, I like Firefly too, but lets be honest, Mal was a joke at times. He was either bad ass one minute or pussy the other. And there were a number of episodes/season of Angel and Buffy that were terrible. I cite Season 5 Buffy and season 3 Angel as great examples. Hell, Buffy season one had some clunkers in it too, but finished well. I see the same for Dollhouse, but they got their shit together after the network was fucking shit up.

The genius of this post will re-awaken the human spirit for the recent of the century. The originality of that post will live forever in the history of literature. I am stunned.

    by i am_notreal

one of the better bitchfests in TB. Please keep it up, it's very entertaining. I dig Lost well enough I suppose, but I ain't gonna bother to stand up for it here. You're either into it or you're not, no big deal to me either way since an ending is now guaranteed. Haven't seen a minute of Dollhouse and I don't expect I'll be changing that anytime soon, but one never knows. Anyway, it's still funny.

She came outta nowhere like 2-3 years ago..into a Chicago wasteland of decent TV coverage...and is a joy to have around. Of course, it's probby because she's a Whedon/Who/Torchwood/Galactica/Lost lovin' nerd...like me. I like Bianco, too.

    by sailingmaster

Oh dear god, won't someone put this piece of shit out of its misery? I'm sorry. I know that there is a large group of people who are cast and crew for this show. They aren't trying to make a bad show. However, what they've got is bad writing, mediocre acting and wishy-washy production values. Too many people who work on this show phone it in and it shows. Kill it. Please.
