Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I had the chance to talk with ZOMBIELAND's director Ruben Fleischer yesterday (look for that to hit this weekend) and he talks the talk. Horror comedies are incredibly hard to pull off... Too many go way too hard into the comedy world and lose their way. I think Fleischer has assembled a great cast to throw into a post-apocalyptic zombie infested world. You not only have those listed in the headline, but also the lovely Amber Heard and the rumored undead-appearance of one Mr. Bill Murray.
We have a few exclusive images from the flick which gives us our first look (that I'm aware of) of Woody Harrelson as the zombie-killing badass, Jesse Eisenberg as the... well Jesse Eisenbergian neurotic and the lovely Emma Stone, complete with shotgun. Oh, yeah... and some dead things. Click for the super high-res versions of each image.

like every good Horror movie should get? I hope it is good, but obviously the benchmark for zombie comedies is Shaun of the Dead. That's a huge (and awesome) act to follow. So I say good luck and godspeed, but don't be surprised when nobody sees this.

(CNN) -- Woody Harrelson defended his clash with a photographer at a New York airport Wednesday night as a case of mistaken identity -- he says he mistook the cameraman for a zombie.
Woody Harrelson says he got into a clash with a photographer because he mistook him for a zombie.
"I wrapped a movie called 'Zombieland,' in which I was constantly under assault by zombies, then flew to New York, still very much in character," Harrelson said in a statement issued Friday by his publicist.
"With my daughter at the airport I was startled by a paparazzo, who I quite understandably mistook for a zombie," he said.
Way to go Woody! Kick the shit out of all of those TMZ pricks! -

It would be really cool if this ends up being the american answer to Shaun of the Dead. American culture is so obsessed with the end of the world right now that it seems like only foreign comedies can really take the piss out of the apocolypse. Apoco-comedies here in the states are few and far between, Return of the Living Dead, Slither was an uderappreciated gem, much like it's "predecessor" Night of the Creeps, and hopefully this movie will follow more in that pantheon.

It was filmed in a few locations just north of ATL. Not sure exactly where. There's a ton of shit filming here right now because Georgia just voted in a HUGE tax break for movie studios. It's kind of bizarre having Ashtons and Woodys running around the dirty south. Not sure if I like it.
Incidentally, Woody was hanging out at a bar in midtown Atlanta a few nights while he was filming ZOMBIELAND and was constantly being yelled at by the staff for smoking pot on the patio. The legends are true! -
Much of the movie was filmed around Atlanta, but a sizeable part was filmed at a theme park in Valdosta, GA. I'm hoping to see zombies on rollercoasters and Tilt-A-Whirls.

First Adventureland, then Zombieland... what will be the title of the 3rd Land film! How will it end? Will any loose threads be tied up from movie to movie?? Will Nick Nolte and Gary Busey be zombies attacking each other while screaming???

You just have to combine the 'space seed' origins of Fido --a fantastically funny Canadian Zombie movie--with Kevin Andersen's 'Assemblers of Infinity'. Zombies as nano-technology parasites!

I hope this movie is two things. I hope it is a great zombie movie, worthy of addition to my shelf. I also hope that this is the zombie movie to kill all future zombie movies, at least looking as far ahead as the next ten years. I mean, I don't want to see any more "new takes" on the genre, and I don't want to be asked to be in another crummy homemade "tribute". I would need ten years to sift through the thousands of zombie movies that currently exist, but I would surely kill myself rather than submit to that fate. So I'm being cautiously optimistic when I say this movie looks like the film that can do all that for me. Oh, and this is coming from a guy living in Pittsburgh. You think you're sick of zombies?

...didn't it finish filming about eight months or so ago? It just seems to have slipped off the radar. Last I heard they hadn't even decided on the it's final title. I enjoy the zom-coms as much as anybody, but I needs me some red-meat in my diet.

I'm not a pot smoker or a green peace kind of guy but i've always thought Harrelson was a great actor. We need more movies like Dusk Til Dawn, the original,not the sequels. Also, I think the DOTD remake a couple of years back balanced comedy and horror pretty well. That may not have been the intention but it was a solid film .
