Learn Which GALACTICA Icon Just Joined Jack Bauer At CTU!!

Katee Sackhoff on “24’s” eighth season will play Dana Walsh, “a highly respected and down-to-earth data analyst at the new and improved New York branch of CTU,” according to Entertainment Weekly’s Michael Ausiello.
Her character will be putting the bone to CTU field agent Davis Cole, played by Freddie Prinze Jr., and “she apparently has a skeleton in her closet she's trying desperately to keep hidden,” according to Ausiello.
Also joining the cast are the fabulous Jennifer Westfeldt (“Kissing Jessica Stein”), who plays a journalist, and Mykelti Williamson (“Forrest Gump”).
Wrong Williamson, if you’re asking me!!
Since Saturday’s episode of “Pushing Daisies” demonstrates that Fred Williamson remains available for TV work, somebody at “24” needs to reach out and put the “Boss” and “From Dusk Till Dawn” star back in the field.

This, or a future season, will have Jack tracking down a serial killer who plans to kill on the hour, every hour, until his demands are met. A cat and mouse game over 24 eps would be awesome - especially if they cast someone brilliant (Fichtner) as the antagonist.

I think the actor that played Baltar on BSG would be a WICKED cool Doctor in Doctor Who. I'm not sold on the new castings announced for Who basd on pics alone... but I trust Moffatt and we'll see where he's goin with the new series. After all... everyone hated Tate when she was announced and she went on to be one of the Doctor's most beloved companions! Oh... I hate 24... how many bad fucking days can this Bauer character have!?!?

... Not that Katee shouldn't be on the show. Far from it - in fact she is exactly what this show needs! But not in the above described role (analyst?!?!). A much more logical (and exciting) role for her to play would be the FPJ character. And in keeping with the spirit of last season's soul searching, we could have Starb (errr) Katee play the role as an even more hardcore (read: damaged) agent than Jack. Someone who is not only willing to do whatever it takes to get the job done, but someone who is VERY good at it, and maybe even derives a bit of satisfaction from it (a la Martin Riggs). This would allow the writer's to paint Jack as the more cool headed agent of the two (a la Roger Murtaugh). Yeah, Freckles Bauer has some acting chops and a nice rack. But in a fire fight, dog fight, knife fight, or a fist fight, compared to Starbuck? Getthefuckouttahere!

For some totally good guy reason (like some crazy ass torture damage that is done to him in the last few eps, or because he loses his lower torso in a brutal accident that saves the city, or, well, you get the general idea).

Though I get the feeling she'll want to play against type in this series, if only to do something different. However, I'm sure everyone would love to see her kick ass in the field instead of behind a fucking computer screen like 90% of the 24 cast have to put up with for 24 episodes (seriously, how many times can someone say 'I'm patching it to your cell' or whatever, these guys are being PAID to reel off that shit while Kiefer busts his ass day in day out!). Katee could easily carry this entire show, replace the Bauer, no problem. She is gorgeous and could kick your ass into touch any given second. Brilliant actress, one of the most natural on TV.

You have one or two main dudes (Bauer, Tony, other main agent) at the helm and who get to go out to have all the fun (the away team). Most of the rest are stuck at CTU/the Enterprise/DS9 fingering keyboards and buttons all day. The only difference is no cougars on Trek unless you count Majal Rodenberry.

This season should primarily be about fan service and seeing the things we always wanted to see. Tony should be redeemed somehow. Aaron helps save the day. Jack sacrifices himself for Kim (and the world). Not so much political bullshit (is it too much to ask to have a competent president without family issues and a mortal threat to their life?). A final revenge scene where Jack gets to give a huge speech about what his job has cost him and all the people he's lost (it would be a long list).
What is shouldn't have is the usual chiches:
*political family troubles
*a mole in CTU (please no)
*pointless asides with Kim
*Jack going rogue and being wanted by authorities
*ridiculous McGuffins (CIP device, that over-ride device from S4)
*starting at noon or so, so the final arc isn't at boring night time.
God I would love to write this show! The crazy shit you could do.

Loved her. Hot as hell (and I'm not usually partial to blondes), and whoever said she can't act... are we talking about the same person? That said, I don't think even she could get me to watch 24 (and I also love Keifer Sutherland). That shit just seems like jack-off material for guys who would love nothing better than to go through life punching the shit out of everything that moves and who are bored and/or confused by nuance and conflict.

That's honestly the more likely option with these writers. Can't wait to hear how compelling this season is going to be because it's "going back to basics" and will get "personal" for Jack like season 1, then it starts out with a bomb that'll blow up the whole northern hemisphere and the ads are going on how "THE STAKES HAVE NEVER BEEN HIGHER" before it's four episodes in, and that's just the first of at least 8 highly convoluted plots, each having bigger bombs
