Exclusive: You can fill your THIRST at the end of July!!
Hey folks, Harry here... Three people that I absolutely trust that saw THIRST in Cannes flat out LOVE the movie. Just love love love the movie. Now usually when we hear about a movie at a prestigious International festival - it means we're 6-18 months from actually seeing the film theatrically, if ever. Other than the occassional film fest. Well FOCUS FEATURES picked up Park Chan Wook's THIRST, his first active horror genre Vampire tale, has decided to release THIRST on July 31st, 2009! Meaning we have at least one more great film for the summer! Personally, I can't wait to screen this hear in Austin! So, that means we should be seeing a domestic One Sheet and Trailer anytime now, right?

Been waiting a while for this.
-
Hell, I'd settle for ONE great film this summer. And maybe this will be it. (Sorry, been a long day.)

ONE more great film? Uhhhh.....Public Enemies.
by dannyglovers_dickblood
There is nothing else capable of getting my dick hard in 2009.
-
Or look like constipated 16 year olds?
-
This summer kicks asssss!
-
it's 30 minutes too long. At 2h13 Park Chan-Wook could have trimmed the fat. It has great moments but it's far from "Vengence" or "Old Boy" brio. More in the "Cyborg" sub-par category. Still better than "Twilight" I'm afraid, Harry...
-
Well, why not?!
-
Can't wait to see it finished
-
Well TWILIGHT got a lot of love at the MTV Movie Awards... perhaps Harry will feel vindicated in his love for it... 'down with the kids' and all that bullshit...
I did very much enjoy seeing BRUNO fall from the sky with his buttcheeks on Eminems face however and the song about tough guys not looking at explosions. -
Some of the shots were real pretty.
I would bang the lead chick.
That's about it. -
As for THIRST what is it? Korean, Japanese, English-language?
Little info, apart from the fact it involves Vampires would be appreciated... -

Or, at the very least, post the list of Cannes winners
by seppukudkurosawa
I know that Cannes is no less hypocritical than Hollywood (just because you clap until your hands bleed, that doesn't make you a bigger film fan than your average 1-minute clappers), but this year's looked like one of the best lineups in years. If you can do SXSW and Comic Con coverage, surely you could have fit in Cannes, too.

Its going great.

VAMPIRE THIS AND VAMPIRE THAT. NEWSFLASH: VAMPIRES ARE BORING AS A MOTHERFUCKER AND DONE TO FUCKING DEATH. GOOD CHRIST. IF IT'S NOT A VAMPIRE MOVIE IT'S ANOTHER GODAWFUL ROBOT MOVIE.
SERIOUSLY, IF WE ARE GOING TO KEEP DIPPING INTO THE WELL, HOW ABOUT MORE ZOMBIE FLICKS. JESUS. AT LEAST ZOMBIES NEVER FUCKING GET BORING. BUT VAMPIRES? OH I CAN'T WAIT. MORE HOMOEROTIC GOTH TRYPE FUCKING LAZY WRITING THAT SPAWNS RETARDS. -
FFS. GET A REAL MONSTER MOVIE GOING FOR ONCE.
-
not "hear", Harry. Just letting you know. Ta.
-
Uhh, that wasn't a chick. That was Robert Pattinson.
-
I believe it's Korean.
& TITBAG, you don't see the irony in saying Vampires are "done to death" do ya? -
For a dollar!
-
NIce. I live in LA and it should be no problem finding a viewing of this
somewhere. Goodness. -
burned, skidmarked and teabagged by horrible english dubbing. Subtitled is the only way!
-
...but it sure smells good!
-
Can't wait to see this!!!
-
SO THAT WE CAN HAVE 3X THE IDIOCY BECAUSE FILM MAKERS THESE DAYS ARE FUCKING MORONS WHO DON'T KNOW HOW TO TELL A DULL STORY IN JUST ONE EPISODE.
-
IS THAT TRAILER TRASH ACTRESS IN THE LEAD ROLE WHO LOOKS READY AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT TO GET A THUMB SHOVED UP HER FILTHY ASSHOLE AND THEN PUT INTO HER MOUTH LIKE A PACIFIER.
-
hellsing ultimate rules all of this junk. ever want to see a gun shoved through a tit? hellsing has it too.

So I just don't watch em'.
-
good movie?
-
Why isn't Ain't-it-cool reporting this news from E3?
-
This film isn;t based on the Robert R. McCammon novel (vastly underated horror author). If you haven't read anything from him, try "The Wolf's Hour," or "Swan Song."
-
and it was fucking terrible so I don't trust what anyone says
-
James Cameron talks AVATAR at E3 2009.
-
James Cameron was on stage hours ago, talking about Avatar - more then he has done at all. Plus there are screenshots of the game, which gives a good look at the world, creatures and mech's.
Same goes for any other event, such as Cannes or Sundance. AICN remains dead whilst the rest of the film/geek websites a reporting everything like crazy.
I still love AICN and frequent often, though unfortunately it seems AICN operates like a site from 1999, not 2009.
There is one exception, and that is Comic Con... which AICN covers well... but kind of sums up how narrow minded AICN has become.
A classic was when Thirst, Inglourious Basterds etc were being screened at Cannes, and the leading story at AICN was about some bloody Disneyland ride... wtf? -
Dark Shite thanks for the info (is it the same director who did the one with the mutant fish monster, because that was pretty good?).
Nice headshot on TITBAG/Scotsman75 too... as ever the nonce sets himself up and u knock him down. -
Park is so, so, so good. Cannot wait to see this.

AGAIN. GOOD LORD YOU FUCKING MONG, HAVE YOU HUNG YOUR BLACKLIGHT POSTERS ON THE WALLS OF HIS SHITPIPE YET?
-
I'd like to see a version of McCammon's "They Thirst." It was kinda like Salem's Lot writ large, set in LA.
-
The Dark Shite doesn't have a shitpipe. He IS the shit.
nonce. -
something for everyone.
-
Your caplock seems to be turned on.
-
..SOMEONE'S ASSHOLE, IT SIMPLY IS NOT WORTH WATCHING.
-
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK
-
Suuuuuuuuure it will. Watch for no poster to materialize, no trailer to be cut, and for the film to vanish from the schedule and never be spoken of on this website again. Remember how awesome The Good, The Bad, And The Weird was? No, you don't, because they never fucking released it and none of the websites hyping it up bothered asking "Um, where'd that movie go again?" THIRST is headed down the memory hole.
-
I'm pretty sure this is it...
