    Superstars is a sports show

    by mr spork

Eight pro athletes and eight celebrities are paired up and compete in various events. Eight teams, one athlete and celebrity to a team. One pair will be eliminated each week.

Terrell Owens is on it. I'm going to watch to see if he makes an ass of himself.

    Torchwood Addendum...

    by rhuragh

I forgot to mention this part. This season of Torchwood is only going to be five episodes airing on CONSECUTIVE NIGHTS STARTING THE 15TH. It will be OVER four nights later on the 19th! This, along with the final three specials on Doctor Who are the LAST time we will have to tolerate RTD's management of Doctor Who.

    Torchwood

    by don lockwood

Actually, we don't have to use torrents or newsgroups since it was announced today that BBCAmerica will be showing Torchwood on the same day as it is being shown in the UK.

Not coincidentally, that date is also when BBC America HD goes live.

Torchwood is as good as over.

    by v'shael

Russell loved putting stupid silly plots, usually with every character and their aunty going bisexual. When he leaves the show, it might have been possible to salvage something decent from it.
But rather than watch someone else make a less-campy more successful version of something he worked on, he's adopted a scorched-earth policy, and salted the ground for those who come after him.

Just watch. Torchwood will be an unsalvageable mess at the end of the 5 episodes.

    Don Lockwood, V'Shael

    by rhuragh

Don, unfortunately that doesn't appear to be accurate. The BBCA site itself says that Torchwood will air on July 20th a little over a month later. V'Shael, while I agree that the first season had some big issues, I really enjoyed the majority of the second season. I also think you're probably correct about the scorched-earth policy. It was obvious that they killed Owen and Toshiko because they weren't family-friendly enough to participate in the crossover in the Doctor Who finale. Owen in particular would NOT have translated well. It's such a shame too. Owen's flashback scenes in his penultimate episode made him an incredibly complex character. It's really unfortunate that they threw that away just so the rest of the Torchwood crew could participate in that abortion of a Doctor Who finale.

    by huelya

It's redicilous to think, that they killed Owen und Tosh, because they didn't fit into the season 4 finale of Doctor Who. Especially after seeing the last episode of Children of Earth. Which was by the way one of the best tv events of the year.
