Published at:  May 29, 2009 1:03:15 PM CDT

Greetings! ScoreKeeper here as promised with five copies of the CD soundtrack for HEROES (2006-2009) composed and performed by Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin which need to find new homes. I just wrapped up a fabulous interview with them where they discussed scoring the show and what it has done for their careers.

Here is a track listing of the album couresty of La-La Land Records.

1. HEROES Title (0:14)*
2. Peter (6:12)*
3. Claire (6:43)
4. Hiro (7:30)

The requirements for entry into the giveaway pool will, as usual, be quite simple. Just email me at scorekeeper@aintitcool.com with the subject YOU’RE MY HEROES! and include your full name, mailing address, a valid email address, and a tell me what superpower you would like to have for day.

I’ll drop all email entries into a pot and randomly pick out five winners who will then receive a brand new, factory sealed CD soundtrack of HEROES composed by Lisa Coleman and Wendy Melvoin. The deadline will be Wednesday, June 3rd, at 11:59PM EST. The winners will be picked on Thursday, June 4th, and then announced here on Ain’t It Cool News shortly thereafter. Only one entry per person please. Any duplicates will be discarded. International entries accepted.

Enjoy the interview. Enjoy the music!

Heroes had a good bit of score this season

    by d.vader

I can't remember which episode it was, but I was shocked to hear a bit of original score that sounded fantastic. I wish I remember the episode. Coulda been when Nikki froze everyone and "died". Or when the plane started crashing. I wish I could remember... Its also worth noting that the episode where Sylar and Dvenko (The Hunter) teamed up together had the best soundtrack of the entire series, with moments transpiring that mirrored the lyrics of the moody songs playing over the action. Example, the opening had Del Shannon's "Runaway" playing as Dvenko considered smoking a cigarette in his car. Sylar then teleports in, says his business about working together, then teleports out into the rain, just as the lyrics about "I'm walking in the rain," kick in. And the episode ends with Nathan and Claire deciding to leave Mexico (while still on the run) to find their mom. The Animals' "We Gotta Get Out of This Place" plays as the episode ends. Great quality stuff. Which had been missing for much of Season 3.

That cover art is beyond the pale of all that is lame.

And the Voice of Shenkar can kiss my flabby ass. Pretentious fuck.

Thought the Doyle sound was pleasantly creepy...

    by kevin holsinger

...though a bit on the short side. I'm curious how they're supposed to stretch these songs out this long, though. But it could be a good score.

If that's the composers on the cover...

    by amy chasing

it's case-in-point why composers should remain legends of the film industry who barely get recognised on the street.

    by squarebird

The Season 1 Heroes DVD includes an excellent interview with these composers. They used to work with Prince on-stage. Great soundtrack befitting an excellent show. Cannot wait for both Heroes and 24 in the Fall. Thank goodness for DVR.
