It's time for the people of Chicago to get high! Capone has details on an advanced screening of Pixar's UP!!!
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here.
The second of our two big AICN screenings in Chicago next week will be the glorious, moving, funny, adventurous new film from Pixar called UP, from MONSTERS INC. director Pete Docter, who I spoke with a couple weeks ago (I'll have that interview for you next week). I've only seen the film in 2-D so far, and I fell in love with everything about this movie. But our screening will be in all three dimensions. Oh yeah, 3-D baby!
The exclusive AICN screening of UP will take place Wednesday, May 27 at 7:30 pm at a theater in downtown Chicago (the exact location will only be given to contest winners).
Here's how to secure a pass good for you and one guest: Send me an email at capone@aintitcoolmail.com with the subject line "SQUIRREL!" In the body of the email, I need your name (guests' names are not required, but let me know if you're bringing somebody or not), and a BRIEF answer to the following question: "What adventure did you always want to pursue as a child?" Where did you want to go? What did you want to do? Do you still want to try to make your dream come true? I'm being deliberately vague, but I'll looking to tap into the ambitions of youth.
Keep your answer brief--limit your answers to 75 words or less. Winners will receive an email from me over the weekend with the screening details. I'll be honest, people who bring their kids to this might get slightly preferential treatment, but you better be sure your child can handle 3-D; I've heard the stories about kids' first exposure to 3-D. Good luck, everyone! Hope to see you there.
And stay tuned to the site; I've already got several films lined up for June that I think you're going to like, including one or two smaller works that you may never have heard of, but I promise you'll flip for. See you soon.

My clone baby of Swaney is my plus one! Sometimes it pays to have insomnia.

Looks contrived and lame.
-
Has ever truly sucked, granted there have been some that were not as good as others, but there is no Pixar movie yet that anyone with any sense could call "lame".

Have your kleenex ready for your date during the first 15 minutes. Put your arm around, share your popcorn. And if you can't get laid by the end of the night, god help you...go see that piece of shit Wolverine.
