SARAH CONNOR Terminated!!
I am – Hercules!!
It won’t be back.
Fox, which announces its 2009-2010 schedules today, has formally pulled the plug on “Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.”
We’ll never find out now what liquid-metal Shirley Manson was planning with John Henry and his Turk chess-computer innards. Maybe John Connor will reveal this via flashback in “Terminator: Salvation,” opening Friday. But probably not.
In other cancellation news, ABC’s “The Unusuals” is officially dead, and CBS’ long-running “Without A Trace” appears be circling the drain.

FUCK YOU
-
...awesomeness of the new movies will make this show redundant.
but whatever happens... just "STOP BULLSHITTIN' AND FUCKIN' AROUND!!" -
Seriously, like any of the reality TV bullshit they air is better than this?
This is just one of the many shows in a long line they have canned too early.
Firefly
Family Guy
The Tick
Wondefalls
Arrested Development
Assholes. I'm done watching 24. I'll bittorrent it from here on out. -
At first, I was really reluctant about it, but after a couple of episodes I was hooked for good. Too bad we never get a third season. :(
-
Come on FOX--just 3-4 hours just to wrap it up! Or a DTV movie...
Sarah Conner Chronicles: CODA would be awesome... -
The producers and the writers had an incling they wouldnt get a 3rd series in fact they were lucky to get a 2nd so they should have written a proper ending to wrap up any loose ends. Terminator Salvation doesnt follow this timeline anyway so i dont care. Hasta lasagne fellas.
-
Motherfuckers! That's actually funny, as opposed to Castle.
-
If I had a choice between Terminator and Dollhouse, I'd choose Terminator. I would've LOVED to see the bizarro madness created by the (now) series finale. It just felt like a much fuller show. Granted, it had a solid foundation to begin with, but it was handled well. I don't think I can invest myself in the season two DVD knowing that nothing gets resolved on the show now. Feels like wasted time and money to me. I could live with a single season of Dollhouse as there doesn't feel to be GIANT threads hanging like T:SCC now has. Oh well, it's shit canned now. Can't change that. I'm sure Knight Rider is toast, too. Why do I bother watching network TV? Over the last ten years, they've canceled anything with potential. I still miss Brimstone!
-NJM -
This gets cancelled and shit like DOLLHOUSE gets another season?
Fuck you fox, motherfucking pricks. -
When TV was the dreck of entertainment and any old shit would get a full 10 season run. Now, something of high quality and standard...will get shafted if it doesn't pull good numbers in a week. It is a fucking joke, a travesty and a big steaming shit on all the creative talent producing quality entertainment. It pisses me off. Fucking righteously. It doesn't help either when these god damn fucking retarded execs of our networks decide to screen these programmes ten o'clock at night on a sunday. God it makes me freaking angry!
-
Now give us a TV movie to wrap it up.
Also, Tom Rothman is a cunt. I know that has no bearing on this, but it warranted saying. -
....when John had yet another teary-eyed showdown with Sarah (when he brought that girl home) about how he doesn't get "any ME time". Seriously, THIS wuss is supposed to grow up to be Christian "Fucking" Bale? Wasn't buying it.
-
If I have only watched T1 and T2, and non of the tv series, should I know who Marcus is? People keep mentionaing him the Terminator related talkbacks but I have no idea who he is. Is he a character in T1 or T2? I don't remember any Marcus in the 2 movies.
-
only because it's owned by Fox and therefore gets any cut of the profits from DVD sales. WB owns Terminator, so Fox gets jack shit from that.
-

Is there any possibility this gets picked up by another network?
by amy chasing
And why do all promotional photos of Summer Glau's character try to give her cleavage? She's a terminator, not Major Kusanagi. Talk about fatal attraction.
-
I hate FOX!!!! And Dollhouse sucks!
-
Surely it makes sense to renew this show for one more season, given there's a huge Summer movie coming out that will drive interest in this television show... no?
-
And T:SCC was easily the better show.
-
Other than 24,(which is getting very long in the tooth)Sarah Connor was the only other show I watched on Fox. Even if they bring back 24 for another season, I may end up skipping since it had all but lost it's edge. Maybe the Sci-Fi channel should look into picking up SC. God knows they could use a decent show now that BSG has finished up.

Not that I ever watched the show, but thank the scum that likes
by jackpumpkinhead
Fox executives are clearing the air to make more space for more moronic garbage from the slime responsible for "Family Guy" - they already destroyed "King of the Hill" to make room for some "new" cartoon that imbecile is cooking right now. So, viewers of this Terminator series, thank the masses of cretins who like "Family Guy" and make it a success.
-
Fuck you up your stupid asses. Truthfully, I'll probably forget about this show if Summer Glau gets another series.
-
If they were willing to give Dollhouse another season why not this? Stupid Fox. Hopefully Reaper will get renewed and fuck up their new show starring Tyler Labine.
-
nothing against the show, just the hoards of jackass internet fans that honestly felt this show was the best thing since sliced bread. Considering FOX's drama's, it was easily the worst show they had to offer... MAYBE better than Lie To Me. Hope Supernatural goes down next year, then the only ultra passionate fans left will be those of actually good shows like, Lost, 24, Chuck and Dollhouse. Cheers on this one, FOX.
-
typical,
hope another network picks it up but i doubt it...
massively popular everywher other than the Us so it seems...
blue sky thinking eh?
bunch of cunts -
They've planned it that way. So I guess you'll get one wish anyway.
-
The show had a kick ass first season finale but just got dull afterwards. I think the absence of 24 last year helped it big time, especially because it was on Monday nights in 24's time slot. I wanted to like Terminator, but just stopped giving a damn.
-
To be honest season 2 felt long and the story was stretched so thin it became transparent but the last 5 episodes were fantastic. And one of the best cliffhangers ever. Dammit!
-
Maybe then all those Buffy loving zombies woulda tuned in. Jesus I'm bitter!
-
Fucking morons. Just when it was looking like it might actually be going somewhere. Fucking idiots.
-
NO! NOOOOO!!! DON'T FUCKING CALM ME DOWN! I KNOW WE GET IT - FOX DOES NOT GET IT! FOX! DOES! NOT! GET! IT!
JESUS CHRIST, THEY'RE FUCKING AMATEURS. I NEVER HAD A NETWORK FUCKING ACT LIKE THIS, MAN.
**pauses, remembers Fox cancelling FIREFLY and WB not picking up GLOBAL FREQUENCY**
FUCKING AMATEURS. THAT'S NOT FUCKING PROFESSIONAL!!! -
Well, since Alan Tudyk and Morena Baccarin are both in the V remake, my money for FIREFLY regulars without a job is the new V series. Adam Baldwin is on CHUCK, Nathan Fillion has CASTLE, so there's really ony Summer, Sean Maher, Gina Torres and the Shepherd guy to find a home for.
Help a Browncoat out... Cast FIREFLY actors TODAY! You KNOW it makes sense! -
Truer words have never been spoken. Or typed on an internet forum.
-
Why dont you put on yet another dumb ass reality show...Fucking idiots!
-
That was actually the series finale (ending in a cliffhanger when ALF was captured by the government)
-
me suspects it'll have a lot over the new film too
-
Why now? This show was just getting interesting!(SPOILERS for anyone who has not been following it)The John Henry StuffCameron's shaky handWeaver being on our sideSkynet in the presentIt was ALL good Fox - WHAT DON'T YOU FUCKIN' UNDERSTAND?Oh well, I will just keep on convincing myself that the series 2 finale was a great headfuck conclusion to the story - All of Sarah's efforts were in vain and a lot of innocent people died for nothing. It turns out that John never WAS that important and the future resistance was born anyway with someone else taking the lead.At least FUX won't be giving me the old reacharound by taking my money for the DVD box sets of series 3, 4 etc.Oh - and BAG's going out in Weavers house was awesome. It just happened so quickly - one minute there, next second gone. Left me really quite shaken. I have been looking left, right AND left again when crossing the street after seeing that.
-
You'd think that the FOX people would wait to see how well the new Terminator movie fares at the box office before pulling the plug permanently. If the movie is as big a hit as sources predict it might bring in new viewers after their interest in the franchise was renewed. Now we'll never have any closure after the excellent second season and that awesome season/series finale. Freakin' Fox boneheads. I'm officially done with that channel. They've cancelled way too many good shows and left on all the garbage. It's done, son!
-
The fascination with this show... it had nothing on the original movies in general and to be honest, the writing and the acting sucked. I am just shocked that you all didn't see this coming. I knew it was getting canceled back when they aired the episode with Hot Terminator in the library looking for the terminator who was in the wall. Seriously, this season was hella lame.
-
TSCC was the only network show I actually gave a shit about. Thanks Fox, now I have one less reason to watch the TV or visit your shit website. FUCK YOU. On a side note, if TSCC doesn't get picked up elsewhere, I hope the creators spill the beans on what their season3 plans were.
-
...I agree..the beginning of the season was kind of embarrassing to watch, but it really seemed to gain it's footing in the last month of the show...I thought it was getting really good..In retrosepect though, if they had to end it, I think they ended it at a perfect spot. It kind of goes seamlessly into the movie..makes me wonder if that was the plan all along.
-
It really was getting good at the end there. Too bad. I realize it's all about ratings, but it still sucks. Damn all this cable TV. Back in the olden timey days, only a coupla networks usually allowed giving a show a more of a chance. I just hope there's some way of tying up loose ends. A TV movie or something...Oh, and I was really liking "The Unusuals". I feel that the show could've gotten picked up if it had a Fall premiere. It seems unfair to expect a show to succeed with a little-hyped March/April premiere. Dumb networks. I really wish we would once see cable channels picking up network cancellations like everyone seems to talk about, but we never see.
-
Since the target demographic is generally proficient in downloading this show, the ratings would never be a true indication of how popular this show was. Its a damn shame and I just wish that the good old days would return when the top rated shows didnt involve a Reality or a Celebrity trying to grab their 15 seconds of fame.
-
But fuck this sucks. Yeah, it was under performing in the ratings and the show was losing it's thunder with me when it abandoned every storyline from the first season to introduce and dismiss new characters every episode, but it still had potential to be great. I was really excited to see where it would go from the season finale. Here's to you, SCC.
-
How can the director of "Vaginatown" be Kyle XY's brother?
We'll never know now. They cancelled that show too. -
That show decreased in quality BIG TIME. Only the final offered any kind of redemption but by then it was FAR TOO LATE.
-
and I really want Nathan Fillion to succeed, but I was checking out both shows this weekend online, and The Unusuals is definitely the better of the two.
-
Because they set the show up to some how feel like it was a prequel for the new flick. They knew.
-
I rest my case.
-
oh oh please watch life on mars. cancelled. please watch unusuals cancelled please watch terminator on friday. cancelled. gimme my REAL HOUSEWIVES, they will never cancel that shit.
-
Most people would try to make money off a movie that'll lead the box office this year, but Fox is very "outside the box".
-
As for Fox, screw them. I'm sure they'll replace Terminator with some stupid fucking reality show.
-
and not been such a dick and called it racist. I'm sure The Unusuals was such a better experience for him. Jerk.
And yeah, Summer Glau will definitely end up on Dollhouse, and it will still suck, but make me want to watch a tiny bit more. Glau + Dushku = Boner -
I have never seen Firefly or Serenity for that matter, but it's the apparent lack of charisma from each and every actor in that series that kills every project they're attached to.
-
Yes, clearly you have never seen Firely.

BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
by tile_mcgillus
Well that sucks. It was expected but it still sucks. I guess Summer Glau will now move her hot ass to another TV show that gets canceled in its prime. Sadface.
-
Who wants to watch John Connor protected by his mommy? It worked in T2 because he was so little but this kid was 17 going on looking 28. Her obsessive relationship with her son creeped me out.
-
and they blew it. The idea was great and there was a lot of potential. I tried to like the show and some episodes were good but other episodes were just weak. All that potential wasted. SAd.

BYOBkenobi: You clearly have no idea what you're talking about
by mistergreen
-
I'd like ti try the Summer Glau model.
-
I agree. The show was shite, move on twats.
-
Way to go FOX, you screwed up another one. The movie is coming out and I'm pretty certain it'd drive more viewers to watch your show, especially considering future episodes would be set... in the future; not in continuity with, but at least the same time as the movie.
-
As for The Unusuals ill miss it. It was a bit dumb at times plot wise but it was clearly about characters and not proceedure and ill miss its freshness in cookie cutter Law & Order-land.
-
guess that stint on the big bang theory didn't help
-
But Dollhouse is pretty strong in one sitting.
-
to cable show ratings. It seems like the major networks are constantly cancelling decent shows. When on cable, shows like Burn Notice, Eureka, etc. get many seasons yet I don't know a single person in real life that watches these shows. Then you have networks like Discovery that have a few new episodes a week, but play those same episodes a dozen times. Yet these cable networks are still making money. So why the fuck can't a decent show be given a chance. After a dip in the ratings a few good eps could get it back on the radar. I almost don't want to get invested in any prime time shows because they could be gone in a year if the ratings fall. Retarded.
-
Caught T3 again on cable over the weekend and it only reinforced how much better I like the actors on TSSC. If T:S is a hit they should retool the TV series and try again.
-
boom boom
-
Yeah.
-
This dumbass move reminds me of STAR TREK: NEMESIS where Data is killed off only to be immediately replaced by his dumber, lamer brother B-4.
I don't suppose there's a chance FX could pick up TSCC instead?
-
Dollhouse, writing, or even ratings.
It was pure economics.
Especially when faced with the prospect of the show being set in a dystopic future, TSCC was a show that was too expensive. Between the various location shoots for action scenes, CG & makeup effects, and growing cast, TSCC was not the type of show supportable by a large network in a bad economy.
Anybody who watched S2 would have to agree that it improved dramatically in the back 1/2. The show was ramping up in some new and exciting ways. I can't blame the writing.
I can't even blame Dollhouse's renewal. They serve the same demo, but they have decidedly different economic models. Financially, Dollhouse might as well be 91210 to Terminator's BSG.
The fact is, FOX torpedoed this show in a knowingly and with purpose. The Friday night "death slot" never works. It hasn't since the early days of the X-Files.
Still, FOX insists on putting its expensive sci-fi shows in this death trap. Friday nights has doomed MANY legitimately good, but expensive sci-fi shows on FOX.
Firefly, Dark Angel, Millennium, Freaky Links, John Doe, Strange Luck, etc.
FOX should have NEVER stuck a sci-fi show on Fridays. For one thing, it's a genre that appeals to a hardcore minority. To stick it on a Friday where even fewer viewers will see it is suicide. More over, to move it from a moderately successful Monday slot to a slot that never works shows some malicious intent on the part of their programming execs.
This reeks of backroom politics. It really does.
FOX had zero reason to move it to the new slot. They could have paired it up with 24 to make "Action Mondays" or some shit like that. The ratings would have been dynamite, especially as a 24 lead-in. More over, Terminator would have made a more appropriate lead in than House.
The bottom line is... FOX HATES SCI-FI. They talk a good game. The pretend to support the genre, but their pockets are way too shallow for them to pony up.
Just you watch. FOX is going to get the "brilliant" idea to have Fringe be the cornerstone of their new Fridays. Just you watch as Fringe gets canceled.
FOX is a bunch of twats.
This is NOT... I repeat.... NOT the same FOX that innovated and challenged primetime TV conventions back in 1987. The network that broke the mold and gave the one finger salute to the other 3 big networks is DEAD.
FOX is now just another tool for a society that happily consumes easily digestible formulaic comedies and reality shows. FOX is no better than CBS, NBC, or ABC. I can understand the economics behind the cancellation. What I can't understand is why FOX does this shit on purpose. It's like repeatedly going back to the boyfriend who abuses you.
FOX wants people to stay home Friday? Stick America Idol on Friday. I can guarantee you, if Idol's as popular as they think, Friday's will come alive again. If not, no big loss.
I'm thinking that the only way to save TSCC is to rename it "Law & Order Terminator", "CSI Terminator", or "Sarah Connor The Bachelorette"
FUCK YOU FOX! Damn dirty network twats. -
Predator: That Columbian Chick Chronicles with Summer Glau as "The Columbian Chick" (The forest, it came alive and took him!)
Alien: The Ripley's Great Great Grandmother Chronicles, with Summer Glau as Ripley's Grandmother who works at Safeway. (This week's episode, Paper or Plastic).
Jaws The Revenge: The Ellen Brody's Donated Egg Test Tube Daughter For Another Infertile Couple Chronicles, with Summer Glau as Maria, the girl who once went to an aquarium and looked at sand sharks. (Is the giftshop open? I'd like a new hat.)
And for the relentless, foaming, hair yanking, wankers who love all things Firefly, Summer Glau can't/couldn't act and Firefly was poorly written. Why not make a nice noose out of your novelty brown jacket and end it all as a form of protest? We who remain in the talkbacks will plant flowers at your grave in thanks... (we won't actually).
-
This was confirmed by Terry O'Quinn.
-
Do you feel better now that you have posted that rant? Do you really believe Summer cares what you think?
-
A big thanks to everyone who worked on the show, I loved it!
-
no sweety, I care what you think. And, if you had half a brain (but that's not likely) you'd see more that I was poking fun at the rejiggering of 80s franchise movies into TV fodder. And while everyone here is creating spittle flecked talkback posts you'll notice that 99% of them mention their undying love of Summer Glau. You included, apparently.
-
Just when my pecker was getting harder for Lena and Summer. Oh well.......
-
Stop confusing the issue with facts.... j/k....... Well said....
-
Even the Big Bang Theory episode she was in was shit (but not because of her, it was just boring). There is something HUGE waiting for her just around the corner. My cock. Oh, and a big smash movie too. She wants to stay away from Dollhouse IMO.
-
Terminator needs a shitload of money and great CGI work. Something it wasn't going to get while on TV. The CGI effects sucked, like BSG Cylons CGI effects, which sucked btw.
Good riddance TSCC. -
Seriously, man. 4400. Firefly. Now TSCC.
Poor Glau has no luck.
I'm a big fan, but she might as well bet Nathan Fillion. Both seem to get stuck on shows on the decline or destined to canceled quickly. -
Then you lost me.
To claim that a network "hates" a particular genre is ridiculous. Stop personalizing. Yes, it was economics: Dollhouse is cheaper (and had to agree to cost cuts to stay alive) than TSCC.
As for the Friday death slot...look, SOMETHING has to go there, right? So which target group is more likely to be at home on Fridays: the young hipsters or mainstream adults watching the reality crap, or sci-fi fans?
Seems obvious when you think about it. -
Look, there's no conspiracy here. Dollhouse was the better show, it's cheaper, and had far more potential with DVD sales than Terminator. While Terminator had some interesting plot points, the extremely plodding writing took forever to get anywhere, and entire episodes had very little happening, except for Heroes-esque over-dramatic voice overs with little meaning. Plus, killing one of the leads without any leadup or consequence? He's just shot dead? It was just boring and depressing. Everybody dies, the future is fucked. The end. If you're a Terminator fan, at least you have the new movies. The franchise is by no means dead. The show was just redundant.
Whereas Dollhouse is creative, original programming with dynamic characters and writing, and an original concept that could go anywhere. The future is open wide for the Dollhouse and I can't wait for season 2. Finally, Fox does something right. -
You can believe me or don't, I don't really care, but I work in the entertainment industry as a writer and I heard something really interesting from ABC Family the other day. A director/producer team has one of my screenplays, a mature 'R' rated thriller. Recently this team pitched a show idea to ABC Family and they said "We have too many 'girl' shows, we need a 'boy' show like "Kyle XY". The director/producer team told me this and wanted me to rewrite my screenplay so they can pitch it to family friendly ABC Family as a 'boy' show. I told them "What the fuck!? They asstards on ABC Family think Kyle XY was a BOY show?"
I started watching Kyle XY for about the first 3/4 of the season and the star, the ultra pretty boy gay actor Matt Dallas, kinda turned me off. And the execs talking about Kyle XY being a boy show are out of their mind. The only people who watch this show are girls and gay fans of Matt Dalls. Which is fine, but boys DO NOT watch this show. The execs and my director/producer team were surprised to hear that.
So what is my point? My point is that when you're casting a show to attract MEN and TEENAGE BOYS you don't cast gay-looking pretty boys. The gay-looking pretty boys attracts GIRLS and GAY FANS of that acctor. DOH! As cute as Thomas Dekker is, he still is a pretty boy who doesn't look in any manner like the future John Connor, and I think a lot of men and older boys were turned off by this. In fact, they even cast Kyle Reese as a freakin' pretty boy. Now I could be completely wrong, but I think I may be at least partially correct. Straight men, whom you're trying to attract, don't appreciate pretty boys. Apparently the Terminator casting director did. Now don't get me wrong, I enjoyed nearly every episode of Terminator, but as pretty as Thomas Dekker was, and gave me warm fuzzy cougar feelings, he was wrong for the role. Now if some how a miracle occurs and they like my retake on my screenplay, it doesn't matter how good it is if they cast another pretty boy in the role. The male demographic won't be there. Anyway, just a theory. Sorry so long. I've had too much coffee today, and now I have to get to work. -
right
-
and didn't it go after lost? how can it not get ratings?
-
Eliza wins by virtue of her dopey look and fine ass.
-
Since it isn't a Fox property someone can pick it up...but it is doubtful. As much as I loved the show it is expensive to make..and never really proved to be a hit (not that Fox, err I mean Fucks.. gave it a chance).
I just coined a new phrase '20th Century Fucks'...its mine..you can use it. -
I'm not too sure about KyleXY..but adult males, like myself, simply like The Terminator mythos, and adding tail like Summer and Lena helped a whole lot. I wasn't turned off by Thomas Dekker..I thought he was good.
Working in the LOTR circles for almost a decade, I can tell you that you are 100% spot on that boys aren't attracted to leading males/boys as much as young women are. In fact, the majority of LOTR fans I've come across are young women.
The logical step, making a show full of young hot females also doesn't attract young men either, since they write it off as a 'girl' show...there is a very fine line TV execs need to find to make a show enticing to boys/men. -

Just look at Fox's track record with sci-fi. Apart from X-Files, they're not doing too well, quality be damned. Their logic behind the pushing such shows on the death slot is beyond infantile. Friday should be the night to stick those cheap to produce, easy to maintain reality shows. You don't stick a high cost show in a slot where nobody's going to see it. So, yeah. Fox DOES hate sci-fi. Their programming people aren't idiots. They know what's going to happen. It's called pandering. They think that they can throw us a token season of sci-fi, watch it fail (their doing), and throw up their hands saying, "We tried. We have NO idea what happened." Can you honestly believe that Fox had no idea what would have happened. They've had 20+ years doing this already. They know what Fridays are like. This was done with a purpose. Fox doesn't directly gain from the big screen WB Terminator flick, especially since TSCC's season was over before the movie premiere and the S2 DVD isn't out yet.
Fox deliberately ignored the tie-in potential, the improved story quality, the S3 possibilities, the DVR stats, fan support, and critic acclaim.
For somebody to suggest that Fox didn't torpedo this show is just crazy. Fox doesn't support sci-fi beyond a superficial level. Fringe will suffer as every other such series before has. Dollhouse would be lucky to make it past S2.
Fox execs area sci-fi hating, reality tv loving, monkey humping TWATS. -
What's the point of watching a new show these days? Had I known that Terminator was going to be canceled on season 2 with a cliffhanger ending that would never be explained I would not have watched. I think showrunners and studios should work out multi-season deals with a definitive ending planned. That way there are no surprises when the series ends. At the very LEAST let them film a last episode to wrap things up.
-
The CG terminators were up there with BG toasters on the suckage scale but (Weavers T-1000 aside) I don't remember seeing a lot of it.I remember a Cromartie full Endo before his new skin in series one - perhaps I missed an episode (I still haven't seen the Mexico one with the showdown with Cromartie). The make-up effects were GREAT though. Cameron in the final episode looked as good as anything in the films.
-
See here: http://www.variety.com/review/VE1117940262.html?categoryid=31&cs=1
-
Multi-season deals are impossible, not even a Whedon or Abrams would be able to convince a studio to give them a guaranteed muti-season show from day 1. A show needs to do one thing, and that thing is NOT be creative, original, inventive, challenging or even just plain good, a show needs to make MONEY, thats all any studio cares about, marketability.
-
wasn't mediocre because the VFX studios or the artists were bad. They were mediocre because of time constraints and shifts in technology. TV and movie VFX overlap in most respects, but they differ in others.
By profession, I'm a CG artist/animator myself. I can tell you that these things would have gotten better as thing progressed. The studios would have been able to reuse assets and streamline the process. In movies, this is something that only happens with sequels.
This streamlining, reuse stuff is exactly what happened with Buffy. Look at how the CG evolved over the course of the series. It was miserable in S1. The studio only improved and streamlined the effects. More over, these things start off as costly, but work their way down to doable levels.
TSCC's visual did improve over season 1. It even improved withing S2, as Weaver's morphing tech changed from the 1st reveal to the finale.
The VFX might have actually gotten cheaper in S3 since the VFX house wouldn't have to spend more R&D money to develop the tech again. -
Get some tinyurl in your life, bitch.

Multi-season deals aren't impossible. They're just improbable. Some shows do and have gotten renewed for multiple seasons. I'm not just talking about cheap reality shows either. I'm not even talking about low-vfx shows like Desperate Housewives or Bones. I'm talking about some serious continuity heavy, location-based, VFX filled shows like 24 & Lost.
The fact that Fox wouldn't multi-renew more than one or two VFX/action filled shows goes to show how deep their pockets are NOT.
This is exactly why Dark Angel got bumped for Firefly. The former was actually expected to be renewed, but wasn't because Fox didn't have enough money for the both.
Fox is a pauper trying to live like a rich man. They're like that poseur at your highschool reunioun. They flaunt their shiny baubles and Armanis, but but still have the price tags cleverly hidden so that the can return them when the game is over.
That's Fox. -
Great show...it was picking up steam, and with the new movies it would have picked up more audience too...stupid, stupid decision...
-
Just read on TV Guide's Twitter that the Fox boss would not bring back TSCC even if T4 turned out to be a huge hit.
Again, there's nothing in it for them, financially. T4 is WB. -
is trapped in someones basement and needs help!!!!
-
the WB owned CW to pick up TSCC? I doubt that they had the money, but they actually WOULD gain. Stick TSCC as a mid-season, pair it with Smallville's final season and CW would have a big hit.
Low ratings on Fox would look like world shattering stats on the CW. -
Seriously you and me we're fucking done professionally.
-
I have noticed that there are a decent contingent of men who are okay with the kid playing John Connor. My husband liked the show as well, thought Thomas Dekker was okay, and liked the drama and the acting (and he doesn't like much of anything, and he HATES Fringe). Heh. My 14 year old son started out liking T:SCC and enjoyed the action, but he didn't stick with it. And when I asked him he said he didn't really like the 'guy playing John Connor seems too wimpy'. A lot of people said they just couldn't see that kid as the future savior of the human race. I myself thought Thomas Dekker was good, but they waited to long to 'man him up'. We got glimpses, and the older crowd who grew up on Terminator flicks, were fine watching Sarah's part of the story pan out. I truly believed if they had made John Connor a little tougher and a little rougher and gave him more to do and didn't take so long about it, it would have attracted MORE of the male demographics. And yes, Summer Glau and Lena Headly were big draws, but I think there had to be more than a few pretty faces. It had to be... grittier... I hate that word but I can't think of another one. Anyway, doesn't matter since the show is sadly cancelled. And I'm a bit shocked Dollhouse got 13 more episodes. Eliza Dushku is a horrible actress but not as bad as Anna Torv... hmmm... maybe they're about equal. Anna Torv is just so... vapid and Eliza comes off as a bubbleheaded dipshit even when she's spewing implanted techobabble. I loved Summer and Lena.

Not surprise! This season took too long to get good!
by hollywoodhellraiser
By the time anyone cared(writers, tptb) the audience was gone!IReily, Jesse, or whatever their names bored everyone with their lame stories! The complaints were valids and people Terminator.
-
If tiny Urinary Rod Length is what floats your boat that's fine, but I don't have that problem.Queer.
-
is her inability to fully cloak that accent. The guy playing Walter does a much better job. It's just so distracting whenever she slips back into Aussie mode.
-
my bad. :)
http://tinyurl.com/r395xs -
This really sucks, TSCC was one of the 2 Fox shows I watched. Come fall when 24's not on I won't be watching. Summer!
-
theres a new movie coming out and this show is a classic cult following type of show...you know the ones that make a ton of money off merchandisewell i hope FOX pulls there head out of their asses and picks up "shovin' buddies" its the only funny show on their fall lineup right now
-
Ellison, John Henry, and T-1000 chick. Was so glad when they killed off John's girl from the future and toughened him up. Show was getting really good and then BOOM. done. Fucking Fox... dickheads!
-
Fuck you, Fox- you cancelled a better-performing, tremendously-better-reviewed show over a show that "might get good". WTF? Let's see another channel scoop it up.
-
Really they seem to have the talent and adult edge.
-
Do you think that people who just saw Bale as Connor will buy Connor stuff with Dekker's mug? Would they buy action figures on that new Marcus terminator dude or the Glauminator?
They may buy the more generic stuff, but the film fans will likely stick with the stuff that has nothing to do with the show. The TV fans might buy both, but I'm not sure that it works the other way around.
I don't even know if Fox has any merchandising rights to T4. I'm guessing that the major parties involved would be WB in the USA and Sony worldwide. -

Summar Glau is starting a small penis collection via AICN
by evilwizardglick
Easy to spot them here.
-
Now that Cutter is dropped will people still buy the action figure?
-
...put American Idol there. Please. Then give us back the other weeknights.
TSCC was getting better and better and left us with one of the best damn cliff-hangers ever. -
originating from the AICN server. And fuck fox in the face! how dare they cancel this show and waste our time like this, now we'll never know how it ends! Where's the respect for the audience? What about our expectations? I'll never bittorrent another fox show again, those inconsiderate pricks!
-
It had a promising 1st season, FOX gave them a chance and the second season mostly consisted of them running in place. Nothing at all happened for vast periods of the season. Sure the last 3 episodes picked up the pace, but damn, they meandered their way through the year. The only good thing about the show was Summer Glau. Instead of getting pissed at FOX for making a sound business decision, get mad at the producers for slowing the pace of the show to a crawl.
-
Love the movies, but this just seemed all over the place in terms of screwing up the continuity. Way overblown.
-
is either off his meds or the intricacies of posting on internet message boards are beyond him.
-
Network tv is dead.
The new business model will be downloadable individual shows paid for by advertisers.
Sure reality shows/sports/daytime tv all will still exist but scripted ( depending if you assume the previous are unscripted) will go downloadable.
It makes no sense to pay for unnecessary services. With a doomed world economy, a REAL fix isn't for generations, ala carte individual downloadable programming will have much more appeal. Someone will profit from these low rated but still enjoyed shows.
Wait and see. The first company that can create such programming will be the next Google.
-
the casting and acting was far from perfect but it was poor writing that killed this one
-
What does Summer Glau have to do with small penises?
-
and not full of 'splosions and car chases. Lena Heady was pitch perfect as a woman and mother who has this role and knowledge that she does not want for herself or her son, and found the right mix of resigned acceptance, melancholy, and fierce/protective determination. The Kid was growing up, from being an annoying teenage tool to accepting his role, starting to step into it, taking ownership away from his mom.And I echo the commenter above: This is not the Fox network that was cutting edge, daring, bold back in the day. Who knew they could get so stodgy so fast? Might as well dump all their programming, poach Leno, Martha Stewart, and show Lawrence Welk reruns--oh, and "reality" stuff: Who Wants To Marry a Millionaire Bachelor Celebrity To Get Off A Jungle Island And Race To An Amazing Wedding and Recpetion Catered By The American Iron Chefs?
-
The last third of the season was some of the best television on network broadcast. I do think the show shot itself in the foot a bit with the middle episodes this season, which all seemed painfully boring and pointless... but the writers really pulled it together and gave some great stories by the end.
-
saw a commercial the other day for that "help i'm a celebrity" reality show and it aired during the SNL short special and i shit you not, i swear i thought it was an SNL short until the end when it announced the title and starting date. it felt so cheap and "skit-like", i couldnt believe it was an actual promo. as for Alf, least they got a tv movie to show the aftermath of that cliffhanger ending.
-
no - they'll just a new machine at the factory that squeezes the heads slightly.Bingo - Jason Flemying figures instead!
-
Seeing John fall in love with human Cameron. Watch him learn from his dad. Damn damn damn. At least we got Dollhouse. But damn...
-
After Episode 5 Dollhouse did more in those last six episodes than Terminator did in two seasons. Dollhouse wins.
-
...picking it up?
-
I just finished watching season 2 on Fox.com. They CAN"T end it there! There's way too many questions to answer. FOX is retarded. Get rid of Dollhouse and Fringe.
-
You know, it seems as if you've had it in for TSCC from the beginning. I question your taste -- this show was faithful to the mythology, thoughtfully written, and SO much better than it could have been on a schmaltzy network like FOX. And you've been just too cool to admit that it might be good. They can't get the movies right, and as far as I'm concerned, this was the closest thing to a faithful sequel as we were EVER going to get. So, thanks a lot. Keep watching DANCING WITH THE STARS and AMERICAN IDOL. For a "geek," Hercules, I am very surprised. You're my least favorite writer on AICN.
Oh yeah, and screw the Nielsen ratings. SARAH CONNOR proves that Americans just can't handle anything outside the safe tripe that is spoonfed to them, especially if it might involve SCIENCE FICTION...which might explain why Blockbuster Video doesn't have a Science Fiction section anymore...
Forgive me, I am venting. But MAN, this sucks. I loved this show. -
T3 remains Canon.
If only they'd cancelled Highlander early. -
U FOK DicS FLOM GAZZ BI FOX !!!!!!!!!!FUCK FUCK FUCK!!!!!!!!FUCK!!!!!!
-
It was a good show but the pace was meandering and the budget (or lack thereof) showed at times. They could've covered the story so far in about 12 episodes rather than stretching it out over two seasons. Also, Lena Headey's character was sorely under-written. They should have made Sarah stronger and more pro-active.
-
Thanks for nothing you dim witted turd. You have single handily destroyed all the great sci fi materials that passed through your door. Bring back Alan Ladd Jr, and don't let the door hit you on the way out you fucking cocksucker
-
This was one of very few shows where I not only knew what had happened so far, but actually wanted to know what happened next. Not that I didn't expect it to be canceled, not that it was a work of outstanding genius, but it was actually worth watching. Those people I know who actually found it all liked it. Besides which, I actually thought they'd keep it going for the boost from the new movie franchise. Had I known it was going to cut off at the end of Season 2, I would never have bothered watching the damn thing. Episodic tv is really starting to piss me off and this sums up why. If I start watching it, chances are it's going to get canceled after one season; if it doesn't get canceled, it goes down the shitter, then it gets canceled. Meanwhile it's all karaoke and quiz shows for the terminally brain dead. Utter drivel. Some of it's polished till it glows, but no matter how much you polish a turd it's still a turd. Cheap sodding tv. I don't have a single thing series linked on Sky anymore, I actually think I could ditch not only Sky but tv altogether. Watch the occasional thing on iplayer and bittorrent. Fringe? Lost? I'll get the DVDs. But I'm sick of pouring money, no matter how indirectly, into the coffers of people who produce about as many quality products as my dog's ass. I'll take what I save in Sky and TV license and spend it on DVDs. And strippers. And Fox, you and me are done, professionally. Nerd goddamn rage is right.
-
Did you not pay attention? She went back in time to create a force of rebel terminators to take down Skynet. John Henry was part of her "reverse engineering" the tech to start building the army.
-
more so I hate fox network, but I feel I do rather well watching shows by Japanese standards. Cancellations rarely happen.
-
Stretched out to 22 eps, it bogged down in the middle, and returned to form too late to turn ratings around. I think it's high time U.S. scripted shows took a page from the U.K. model and limited seasons to 13 eps or less. Particularly for expensive shows like this one.
-
I'm going to take my frustration out on Dollhouse and refuse to give it a chance - anyone else w/ me? ;)
-
"We did see it trailing off a bit, and ultimately we made the bet on Dollhouse. That's it for Terminator. If we canceled Joss Whedon's show I would have got 110 million emails from his fans today."
-
just another reason why no one watches the "three" anymore; they can't keep a show. First Life and now TSSC-big fat juicey finger Fox. Blhotz, I will join you in the Dollhouse boycott. It really isn't that good. I watched the whole season and with the exception of ONE show the whole season, it sucked balls
-
bored to tears. no reason to see again. end of story.
-
Terminator was really expensive to produce. Dollhouse is actually lowering their production costs.
-
Long live the "Terminator: The John Connor Chronicles"
-
should DIAF.
Watch Dollhouse? Not now. -
I shall download anything they have that I want to watch... which amounts to 24 and nothing else.
-
...and Fox throws away the perfect tie-in! After TS comes out, I fully expect people to be willing to drag their nuts across a football field full of broken glass just to catch a glimpse of anything Terminator until T5. Fox had the perfect setup and a great show on their hands and they FUCKED UP!!! If it wasn't for the fact I love House and the Sunday night lineup, I'd stop watching Fux (not a typo!) entirely!
-
And two (relatively) inexpensive DVD sets (the first season is only, like, two or three discs) to sit beside T2. It does kind of wrap up rather neatly at the end. Not the cleanest ending ever, but I think it works as an ending. Sad to see it go, because in was the only show my sister and bro-in-law all agreed on to watch. But it had a decent run.
-
Fox, I fart in your general direction.
-
how bloody rubbish. does seem crazy to dump it so close to the world going terminator crazy. but since when have fox made sane choices? although ill happily eat my words and admit im incredibly happy that dollhouse is renewed.
-
STUUUPIID!
Without even waiting to see how badly Salvation will blow Trek out of the water.
TV execs have absolutely no foreskin-uh...I mean...Foresight- yeah that. -
Come on now. Somebody HAD to say it!
-
you can bet that this series will be dragged back from the depths of hell. Probably as a mini series. To be honest, I don't care. Bring on the CG and robot mayhem of Salvation.
And will people please calm down? -
While dollhouse being poorly written show is cheaper to produce.
-
haha make way for the movie, kinda stupid of them to start this show now when a movie was on the way.
-
A new "Terminator" movie is about to be released and they cancel the show? Even if the movie isn't a smash success it still is putting the Terminator universe back out into people's consciousness in a huge way. The middle episodes of SCC sucked but the first 3 or 4 episodes and the last 3 or 4 episodes of Season 2 were great and worthy of a 3rd go.
-
As much as I wanted to like it the last 5 or 6 episodes were total shit.
-
*dependant on a mixture of cult reaction/success of the new trilogy/Joss Whedon writing the damn thing.
-
I hope SciFi or some other network picks it up. Or even a bunch of direct-to-blu-ray movies like Futurama did would be great.
-
well written, directed and acted
And a damn good story -
But at least that is supposedly to have a few extra eps on the DVD set that ties things up. Let's see what happens with the upcoming DVD set
-
The show had some problems with pacing and some of the acting, but it tried hard to present itself as something deeper than a purely action-oriented series, and often succeeded. I am glad I took the time to watch it. The last few episodes, in particular, were quite good. I would have really liked to see where they would have taken the "will you join us" storylines. The series definitely ended at a high point. Television is a business, though, and I know the ratings couldn't justify another season. Maybe if the show had started a year or two later it could have benefitted from a movie bump.
-
I gave up on this show at the time someone above mentioned, when John brought the girl home, Sarah told her to get lost, and he cried "When do I get ME time?" I actually yelled at the TV, "You don't! You NEVER get me time! That's your burden, you little prick!" I hated Sarah and John in the hands of those actors, and that was the essential problem with the show. When you're rooting for the deaths of Sarah & John Connor, the show has missed the point entirely. That being said, I wish Summer Glau all the success in the world, because that's the kind of loyalty that a GREAT show like Firefly generates.
-
Damn you Fox! But I guess this show is in good company of shows that Fox has canceled....
-
I admit that TSCC could seem plodding and directionless at times, but I've found that if you watched long enough, all the threads would start to come together. There may have only been 31 episodes, but if you think about how much ground they covered in season two, it feels like a lot more than that. Now, since we're not going to get a third season, I'll expound on where I think the show was heading. I do not believe that, as one poster said above, that Weaver's T-1000 was on Connor's side. Instead, I think that she made the decision not to help the Resistance kill Skynet, but to change Skynet such that the Resistance would be unnecessary. That's why she asked Agent Ellison and Dr. Sherman to teach John Henry morality (my one quibble with the show was that the writers chose to have them teach John Henry about Christianity and religion instead of something more machine-understandable like secular humanism). My assumption is that in one past Weaver was captured by Connor and given the offer of survival if she would help the Resistance. She was then frozen until during the war when she was picked up by Jesse. She then escaped and found a time machine to go into the past where she set her plan in motion. I believe, given her conversations in 2x19, she was grooming John Henry to either join with and change the Skynet lurking in the background in the last few episodes, or to fight and destroy that nascent Skynet, and ultimately usher in a peaceful coexistence between humanity and AI. Maybe if we're lucky the show-runners will reveal their long term plans once they run out of networks to shop the show to.
-
thats the rumours coming out of the SCC camp. Apparently WB (who owns the franchise and show) isn't ready to just give up on terminator on the small screen, The CW is the front runner, butUSA has also showed interest in airing the show if the cost per episode can be decreasedso in other words there is still hope we may get a season 3
-
That's a shame. I hope the writers let us know what they woulda' done.
-
you said: "i like it in my asshole as long as the dick is small..." why would you say that man and what does that gotta do with TSCC? u must be one of those AICN weirdos.
-
All for nothing I guess... I agree with the opinion that TSCC > T3. The show had flaws but I thought the good outweighed the bad. Some of the storylines seemed out of place (what was the deal with the ep where Cameron and the crippled librarian investigate terminators in the 1930s???) but I thought the casting/acting was good. Good action, nice violence for network TV (probably more than we'll see out of T4)...I hope another network picks it up...
-
Just do a mini-series to finish it... Like someone else said, it's beyond stupid to completely pull the plug on this when T4 is coming out this week!!!
-
Going into the future and destroying all the present-day sets may have been brilliant thematically, but it was total poison budget-wise.
To do a 3rd season, they'd essentially have to start over with new sets, props, etc.
Compare that to a show where the set is built and adding a new scenario is much easier. Not as much CGI either. So, it mostly comes down to money.
Sad, but true -
Have you managed to complete your goal of sucking-off every single member (tee-hee) of the Stargate casts yet?
-
i dont do conversations with people who mutilate their asshole for pleasure like yourself.
-
I understand you're still feeling vulnerable after the way Lou Diamond Phillips treated you.
-
Spent shows like "Dollhouse" and "Chuck" survive while shows hitting their stride like TSCC and Reaper perish?
KHAAAAAANNN!!!! -
If not for 24 which has been pretty damn good this year. I will not invest my TV watching time with Fox for ANY series that needs a resolution to the outcome.
I will watch Simpsons ,24, but I'm afraid that I will not follow through with Fringe as I'm sure once I get involved Fox will cancel it -
thats it, me you outside NOW!
-
I haven't been on a Stargate show!
-
and replaced with something that makes more sense at least something that the audience can suspend their disbelief to.
-
No offense intended toward any chimps reading this talkback page. But I mean seriously, this show was the BEST thing they had going for them and they cancelled it? Brainless. That move was like the network equivalent of stopping in the middle of crossing a busy highway to tie your shoe. :P Now, especially with the Terminator movie coming out right now, other networks are gonna be scrambling to pick up this series. Fox should just stick to making films and sell the network... then command all it's employees to jump out of windows and require all executives wear pink tutus to work. Loopy bastards.
-
fuck you sizzle dick, i wanted to beat the shit out of you personal cold street style in front of the whole world. normally i would just fuck ur mom, sister, wife, but you need a to get face-punched.
-
how to stretch a boring concept out. The Turk? Fuck that. Should have been resolved long ago.
-
FOX is the only channel worth watching now!!!!!!!
-
Is that I had JUST FINALLY bought a portable DVD player, downloaded season 2, and was all prepared to get caught up during downtime in my graveyard shift at work. Bastards @ FOX. They didn't even give it a chance, putting it on Friday nights. I was ALWAYS able to catch it when it was on Sundays, during season 1. Why didn't they try changing it's night when they saw ratings fall? Morons. May as well un-program that channel from the remote control now. There's nothing worth watching on FOX anymore.
-
ewwwwwww you work in a graveyard! say hi to granny for me!
-
Waaa... waaa... waaaaaaaaaaah.... :P
STATLER: I wonder if there really is life on another planet.
WALDORF: Why do you care? You don’t have a life on this one! -
no wonder the world hates fox, and america.
-
shhhhh! lets see if he gets it
-
Firefly was ok, but everything else blew! Sid and Marty Kroft campiness mixed with Nancy Drew storylines. Definitely stuff for the Twilight set. Dollhouse was a decent idea and Eliza is hot but the show was hard to watch. The focus needed to be on Eliza and her kick ass hotness. She should have been uber sexual and cold as ice. She's pretty to look at and bitchy at times. The show was more Mean Girls than La Femme Nikita. TSCC was a good show getting better. Fox shit the bed on this one and earned their Whedon kneepads at the same time.
-
I understand that ratings started to dip and I get that this is a business but you have to look at the big picture here. Terminator: Salvation will be released in only DAYS! This is one of the only shows that I actually rush home to watch and the season finale had such a great twist in moving the series into the future and actually introducing John Connor to his own DEAD DADDY! There has to be a way to bring this back on the table for consideration, at least see how well the movie does to determine if one more season should be attempted to ride the stea train! Come on Fox!
-
haha yeah they do that from time to time, they dont learn. and whedon does suck. a hack who made a name for himself.
-
fox blows donkey bawls only shows i like on there are cartoons now. it even won save one show on eonline..
-
seriously needs to be canceled and also LOST should get canceled.
-
It was a good show, not a great show - but it definitely had its moments. The "T-1000 clean-up" this year was awesome.
But, with Salvation just around the corner, I can live with this alternate history being put to bed.
I'd love to see Lena Headey fly a boat in Serenity verse. That woman rocks harder than AC/DC on a fault-line. -
Someone will pick this up. Execs aren't stupid. Sure, they'll retool it to look more like, and have more ties to Salvation, but it'll be back.
-
Fuckers! Fuck everyone who doesn't share my pain!
-
or FX channel. They need a hit.
-
You all say "FUCK FOX" - quoting Harry Knowles..yet you losers obviously spend an hour (or more) of your week watching FOX.
-
House and Bones are weekly exercises into boredom, and who gives a shit about Dollhouse, really?
-
not really. fuckers
-
24 jumped the shark by the end of its 1st season. I haven't been interested in it since. Repetative 1-trick pony. Simpsons is like the retirement community's Family Guy. So what do they have? Reality shit? BLAH! Great way to boost your ratings, morons, cancel your best show. :P
-
I haven't given the show much of a chance yet. I saw most of the first episode, missed the 2nd and haven't wanted to watch any others since I hate watching shows out of order. So besides this season of T:TSCC, I've also been downloading Dollhouse. Everyone I know says it kicks ass. I'm not worried, really. I give it a week, maybe two, before it's announced that another network has picked up the show. It's like history repeating. Remember Buffy the Vampire Slayer?
-
I remember that from when I was just a couple years old! lol I think... wasn't there also around that same time a similarly animated cartoon but with Gilligan & everyone? Gilligan's Planet! That's what it was called! lol I miss both those cartoons. And the Tarzan cartoon from way back in the mid/late 70s. Ah... the Saturday mornings of yesteryear....
-
Jason of Star Command...
...can anyone else think of some great cartoons from back then? I know it's off topic but yeah. Wasn't there a really good Batman & Robin cartoon on Saturday mornings back then too? I vaguely remember an episode in which they were frozen inside ice cubes... I'm guessing Mr Freeze must've been in that episode. -
I just wish the Summer Glau character was played by Megan Fox. If they want a female action series, why not remake Wonder Woman and cast Megan Fox to take on Islamic Nazis?

By now most of you have heard the news that T:SCC is cancelled. I received a call earlier today from Peter Roth at Warner Bros. and I appreciate both his personal and professional support throughout this show’s life. I know a lot of you are angry about the cancellation and want to find a place to direct your anger and to that I say do yourself a favor and find a way to move past it. Every network wants a big fat hit, especially one with a brand name behind it, and Fox was/is no different. They supported the show, they supported my vision of the show, and they gave it plenty of time to find an audience.
And what an audience we found: passionate, intelligent, kind of nuts in a good way. My only complaint about the T:SCC fans is that there aren’t ten million of them. But I prefer to be happy for the ones we had instead of lamenting the ones we didn’t.
Good shows are cancelled every year; smart shows, worthy shows, shows which move their viewers to write blogs and have viewing parties and create action figures and bury executives’ email accounts under thousands of messages. I miss Deadwood and The Wire and Arrested Development but thank God that I still have Rescue Me and The Office and a recently renewed Party Down written by ex-T:SCC writer John Enbom.
Bad shows are cancelled, too. And certainly there are those who did not like what we did and had their own vision for what a Terminator TV show should be. It’s easy to look at low ratings or cancellation as “failure” and for those who believe we’ve gone about this all wrong I’m sure today’s news will only serve to confirm a world view that I would never try to change. We’ve written the show as best we can, executed it to the best of our abilities, and sent it out in the world knowing that we worked out asses off to do something that wouldn’t be a waste of anybody’s forty-three minutes.
Thanks to a brave and talented cast, a feature crew working on a TV schedule, and everyone else who I could list but won’t because they know who they are. Mostly I’d like to thank those of you who’ve supported us and fought for us and given up hours of your life to watch our show. At the end of the day, that’s what it’s about. The watching.
Hope we do it again soon.

They have the only shows I care to watch. Fox is full of shit. Television as the whole is just going down the tubes and I really blame women. Shows like Idol and you think you can dance make me want to murder people but every chick I knows loves them. So I'm basically saying we need to look at Saudi Arabia and take a page from tha book. Don't let many express how they feel and don't let them watch television and shows will get better... I'm kidding of course, I think.
-
on the same panel with the Lost guys, and they slammed the Lost guys. WTF!
-
It's a shame it happened just as John Connor grew a pair.
-
Spose it's there own fucken fault by having such high budgets.

Funny shit...
-
... so I stopped caring about the show. I loved the TV show ... some great concepts in there. But when uncle Derek got shot down, I was pissed and couldn't care to watch it any more anyway.
-
Hot robot, finest milf on tv, John Connor actor was awesome. Great story. Yup- they canned it.
-
Whedon farts better stories than anything Stargate's ever offered (aside from the original movie, of course). You're a joke. Stargate's a joke. The only reason it's still on is because it costs about ten bucks an episode.
-
Derek came back in the final episode... kinda like Starbuck.
-
The character with the tumor cracked me up. I hated the constant guitar riffs, though. That was annoying.

You morons-- you ended a great show when it was ONLY getting better.
The new movie will do ONE thing-- increase interest in Terminator plotlines and make people hungry for more !!! Ratings would increase, very likely. At LEAST you could have arranged for 10 more episode or so in light of the large internet backlash at this.
-
didn't DesiLu and whomever owned Family Guy learn their lessons-- wake up!! SCC was excellent and the last episode make people ravenous for more. So come on !! give it to us.

It's a cruel, cruel Summer...now you're gone...(#2)
by dreamseasonbobby
Yes, Terminator: SCC is no more, and it leaves behind some dangling plot threads from it's otherwise awesome finale. But, that's what Hulu channels showing original multimedia motion-comic/graphic video hybrid webics with inbedded cgi music videos are for and I...oh, wait. Darnit, that's right, that's so 2011 of me.

I dont get all the hate with Dollhouse. cool premise,it got better with each episode.and ther is actually alot they can do with it. tssc on the other hand, had a kick ass strong first season and then got worse with each ep in the 2nd season. there were only a hand full of ok eps in this season, including the finale..which was good, but in no way made me wanna waste more of my time coming back for a 3rd season. ive seen comments in the tb about "it was just starting to get good", well,it had 3 quartes of the season to "get good" and didnt till the end. it seems like the writers had a "great idea" for a 3rd season and just decided to coast through the 2nd having only enough. mabey there season was too long for them to properly write, and should of only run half as many eps??idk. the acting was bad by just about the whole cast(core cast anyway) john was a little bitch, cameron was the machine yet came off oddly more human than sarah..i was rooting for the show, but really guys, come on.
-
I will never watch another episode of Dollhouse, because they canceled Sarah Connor Chronicles. I doubt I'll be watching anything on Fox. Like the syfy channel, it's dead to me.
-
everything becomes funnier when you had three little letters. Watch, Summer Glau is gonna get hotter career-wise yet even though she started off playing badasses like River Tam in Serenity and Cameryn (purposely mispelled) in SCC, she's gonna end up playing meaningless eye-candy roles just like Jessica Alba when she started off getting hot playing Max Guevera on Dark Angel and slowly degenerated into f4 garbage. And not the Shirley Manson kind either. And i don't like Dollhouse because it's creator unceremoniously got rid of Charisma Carpenter from Angel. Fat bald bastard. That's why no one wants to see you do anything cinematically.
-
Last time I heard of her (literally) was as a doctor/scientist type that helped put Mr. Freeze in another body in Batman Beyond
-
Space Above and Beyond, and now this.
-
I was really enjoying this show.
-
I don't understand why he has such ardent followers. I have never been able to get much into anything he's done. Sarah Connor wasn't perfect but it had things in it I liked a lot, mostly anything that didn't have to do with John or Sarah Connor. And any show that managed to make Brian Austin Green kind of cool was doing something right.
-
Firefly/Serenity were decent, but not OMG!
-
There was never any real effort made to establish plot continuity between Connor Chronicles and Salvation.
When James Cameron made the first two Terminator films, they were meant as allegories to warn against the perils of nuclear war. Skynet was a metaphor for humanities need to be the self-fulfilling prophecy that finally brings us to the collective death we seem to crave through our wars.
CC was a great show because it expanded that mythology into an awareness that there was more to Skynet. Human beings can be very evil. It used the interactions between the characters as well as the prospect of the apocalypse to delve into the grey zone. The first two Terminator movies were more than action films and so was the show.
Salvation is a McG film however. And the only amazing accomplishment McG has ever made is that he still hasn't been sued by McDonalds for stealing their logo. -
Yet another reason to go out on Saturday night...
-
that she (Charisma) was fired for getting pregnant, then she could have sued them to oblivion.
You may not be aware of this, but you can't fire a woman for getting pregnant. Look at a show like "How I met your mother". BOTH female leads in the show were pregnant at the same time. They weren't fired, and the pregnancies were not written into the storyline.
Firing someone because they got pregnant, isn't how it works. -
Is anyone going to blame that on her recent boob-ectomy?
In a world where Felicity's audience stopped watching because she changed her freaking hair-style, can anyone doubt that audiences would be shallow enough to stop watching if the main female character suddenly lost her boobs? -
I seem to remember him planning all along for Cordelia to give birth to Jasmine and have that quasi-incestuous storyline with Connor and for her to pretty much die after that, correct me if I'm wrong. he knew he fucked up that's why when he brought her back for the 100th episode You're Welcome he busted his ass writing a good episode (and it was despite what I think of him). CC even said he gave her a big bouquet of flowers to smooth things over with her re: her exit. Anyway, why did you call it Emo Terminator? I've only seen the first year on dvd and not the second and it didn't quite strike me as Emo, maybe you can point out what you saw or were you just stating the general vibe you got from the show? I wouldn't call it Emo Terminator; I would call it Inconsistenator the way Cameryn (STILL Purposely mispelled ;)- ) acts very normal in the first episode and then a social retard later on. Maybe it's explained in year 2 why she's like that? Like I said in my earlier post I thought adding the word emo to terminator and pretty much any word makes it funny even just a little bit.

What was the budget of Battlestar Galactica?
Come on Sci-Fi pick this up, please!!! -
I think people are losing sight, of what the original 2 terminator films were. They both still stand as landmarks in scifi action films, which actually define the genre. All the SCC was, was a very poor imitation. I have to say, at first, Lena Headley excelled, in here role, but in the 2nd season, looked bored, and stiff. As for the story itself, apart from the redeeming final episodes, it was piss poor. Another example of coked up screenwriters, boxed in a corner, trying to please everyone, and ending u0p pleasing no one. I haven't seen Salvation yet, but come on. James Cameron VS McG ? Its like Picasso VS some cunt who illustrates comics. Who in their right mind, expects Mcg to actually come anywhere near Cameron ? I am sick of mediocrity these days, being marketed as the dogs fucking bollocks, by cunts who know they are pedalling shit. Nothing better exemplifies this, than the current PR, and marketing drive that is propelling Salvation. There are cunts out there, who are so brainwashed with this ubiquitous onslaught of the Salvation people, that no matter how bad it is, they will like it. Rant over.
-
Was too damn whiny in the tv series.
-
should have hooked up TSCC with a Pizza Hut deal!
-
another brilliant move from the people who invented the "results show" format.
-
Sucks bigtime. Even though i liked dollhouse as well. Terminator was way better than Dollhouse. And that dit get another season. Guess Josh sent Elisa in and Terminator forgot to send Summer. So many loose ends left to ponder over.
-
I must never watch Dollhouse again.
-
Their finale was the best way possible to wrap up the series. It gave us answers to all of the central unanswered questions and opened up so many new ones. Just like the entire series, it won't get the respect deserves.
-
I'm just making the prediction on T4 as I haven't seen it, but T3 is laughably bad. T1&2 are brilliant, though I think we ought to all remember it was T2 that caused the reverence for the franchise. If T2 had sucked, T1 would have simply been a cool movie and that would be the end of it. SCC did have plenty of weak spots, but give it credit. It took a beloved Movie franchise and successfully integrated itself into it.
Offhand, I think it's the best Movie universe brought to TV ever, second only to MASH.
( with a nod to Stargate for its success, not its quality )
-
FOX doesn't give a shit because they have AMERICAN IDOL and 24. That's all they care about. Everything else is just filler to them.
I'll continue to watch House M.D., but that's about all that appeals to me on the FOX schedule... I'm not going to invest myself in Fringe now, because I know they'll shitcan it like they always do with scifi. The mouth-breathing American Idol audience doesn't "get" scifi. -
but kept missing the last 3 or 4 minutes as ABC likes to run shows long. I hate that they do that so I gave up on the show. I figured what's the point of watching the show if I don't get to see the whole thing. Recording longer would interfere with what I could record at 10:00; I wasn't about to miss the first few minutes of something that came on after on another network. If they are not going to air it in the given time-frame, I'm not going to watch it. Of course they do the same thing with Lost, but I'm invested in Lost so I'll make the effort; for a sitcom that I found moderately amusing I couldn't be bothered.
-
TSCC was a festering, sweaty turd.
-
but I think the end was perfect and it does not need to go on. Continuing the show would have been messy the way they left it.
-
Damn! Damn! Damn!
-
It's a long shot, but it's possible that Scifi channel, TNT, or USA MIGHT pick up the show and move it to Vancouver to save on the budget. Chances are the show is dead, but there may at least be a glimmer of hope.
http://twitter.com/Craigatscifi/status/1839918505 -
time to go back in time and terminate the whackjobs that made this decision so it will never happen. (mmm where did we see this kind of reasoning before?)
-
Why didn't that get the same treatment as TSCC!!! Lame after two seasons!.
Oh. Just watched season 3. Damn that's good. Thankyou WB!!! -
strangely, I don't really care
-
....who decided to cancel Family Guy. FUCK YOU, FOX!
-
And they pickup Dollhouse for S2!? Are you fucking kidding me?
-
You cancelled a great show that had a lot more promise. I'm disappointed but not surprised - not enough people watched it. Final thoughts: Lena Headey OWNED the role of Sarah Connor. Cameron was under-used, being the most interesting character on the show. Brian Austin Green kicked ass, I hope he has a long film career, yeah, he is that good. John Connor started out wimpy, but that was the point of the show - to see him grow into his own, it wouldn't have made sense to have him an alpha male from the beginning. Some episodes of season 2 weren't so great - the '3 dots' plot device which spawned 4 episodes of Sarah investigating them just were not that great, just a plot device to fill out the season & during this time their viewership really tanked. I heard the movie is a mess with little-to-no character development, but it is summertime and the movie is called Terminator, so it goes. Seems to me like sci-fi fans want strong character development on par with the action, it just makes the action more meaningful (ala BSG). Looking forward to picking up Season 2 on blu-ray.
-
is pretty damn good... They gotta bring this show back...
-
IMHO anyway...in no particular order
Futurama
FireFly
Family Guy
Andy Richter Controls the Universe
Arrested Development
The Tick ( the live action one )
Sarah Conner Chronicles
I'm sure their reasoning was sound to them... ( money ), but its disappointing that they never give shows a chance to really get a strong core audience going. ( SCC did get its chance I suppose )
You'd think with the internet viewership growing so much you could find a solid niche for alot of these. Any one f these shows I would buy new episodes of off of (insert your itunes/hulu like service here )
