‘How Would Teri Feel About That, Jack??’ Monday's Two-Hour Seventh-Season 24 Finale!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
The bioweapon won’t kill Jack Bauer (nothing can kill Jack Bauer except peace, love and understanding), but his recovery, which will take place between seasons seven and eight, is going to take at least a year.
We’ve also word that while Renee Walker will be hanging around next season for the CTU reboot in Manhattan, Janis Gold won’t be making that journey up the coast.
Right now we’re back in season-one territory, with powerful forces using Kim Bauer to force daddy Jack to do their bidding.
Will Soul-Patch Tony die, escape or grow better understood before episode’s end?
Fox says:
After 22 hellacious hours underscored by the loss of innocent lives, the evil betrayal of Tony Almeida, the First Gentleman's kidnapping and shooting, a vicious siege on the White House, heroic sacrifices, a conspiracy, exposure to a lethal pathogen and an unthinkable bio-weapon attack, Jack Bauer reaches an emotional breaking point as this remarkable day reaches its climactic conclusion. Guest Cast: Jon Voight as Jonas Hodges; Sprague Grayden as Olivia Taylor; Elisha Cuthbert as Kim Bauer; Glenn Morshower as Aaron Pierce; Will Patton as Alan Wilson; Leland Orser as Martin Collier; Ryan Cutrona as Admiral Smith; Frank John Hughes as Tim Woods; Amy Price-Francis as Cara Bowden; Ravi Kapoor as Muhtadi Gohar.
8 p.m. Monday. Fox.

This show is as implausible as ever... yet I cannot look away
-
Ratings are gonna be low tonight.
-
We don't want those dvd leaks spoiling those of us that live blog the show.
-
You know it will happen. And it will be glorious.
-
WHAT A GUY!
-
I NEVER THOUGHT ID SEE THE DAY THEY ACTUALLY KILL JACK OFF JUST LIKE THEY HAVE ALWAYS TEASED. I FEEL NUMB RIGHT NOW.
-
He keeps coming back.
-
What possible motivation did Tony have to tell Bill and Chloe that he needed to help expose a conspiracy in the government? Given all that we know about Tony now, it seems he didn't really have to do it and that his energies would have better been spent elsewhere.........I'm not enough of a deep thinker to figure this out.
-
There are sandwiches here.
-
With cheese I hope?
-
Please tell me they still have meat in them. REAL MEAT. I heard it was gonna be all "Soy Meat" and "Vegetable Protein" shit.
-
If you want ep 23 and 24 spoilers, read what's on the link below and it tells you everything.
http://tonyalmeidajunkie.blogspot.
com/2009/05/major-spoilers-synopsis-of-23-and-24.html -
I'm going to be avoiding this talkback today, methinks.
-
It will be hard going though life without her.
-
Yeah, it is. Don't delude yourselves. This season was POOR. From the bullshit African storyline in which our stupid Prez decides to risk the lives of her country for a bunch of Africans, to the dumb, dumb, dumb attack on the White House ("Hey, did you just see a SWAT team hiding under that bridge?" "Nope") to everything that's happened with Tony "If only you'd stayed dead" Almeida... this was terrible. Please get better soon "24". You were good once.
-
The Tony turn as a villain has just not worked. And it's not because I wanted to see him as a hero, it's just that it makes zero sense. He'd have to have a dozen things go right to have any chance of his mater plan working. And we haven't been given any explanation why he's doing this.
-
the only weak season was season 6. otherwise its been stellar. and you wouldn't be posting in a season finale talkback if you hadn't been watching all the way through.
-
I understand some of the concerns about the last few eps but come on, Tony is fun as a badass. And how can anyone say 'after the White House'?!? Hodges was fantastic!
-
Both episodes have been leaked online...
-
and FOX is retarded.
They just don't get the internet. They bitch about the Wolverine print being leaked, and it opens huge. Then they release the 24 DVD/Blu-Ray set before the TV episodes have finished airing. And no doubt bitch about the ratings taking a hit, and piracy being responsible.
God damn fucktards... -
Naked Mandy!?! I've always wanted to know more about her...Who she works for, what she does exactly, etc. I'd like her to actually have a few lines of dialogue maybe? You guys think she'll ever re-emerge as a baddy for one of the final seasons? I sure hope so, one of the more intriguing characters they created in the early 24 seasons.
-
I think I'll be avoiding the blog until showtime tonight.
Fucking spoilers. -
Season 8 needs Mandy. And this season started off strong but flew off the rail after the White House invasion.
And to the poster who said Hodges was great... uh --- yeah, I guess he WAS cool. But he died and mass Tony and Kim silliness ensued. -
sets up the unfinished business for Season 8 no ?
-
Which series can uphold the quality for such a long time? Love or Hate it. You are still watching it,ain't you? Probably the only thing to look forward to next to Lost in 2010.
-
You see this in a lot of bad TV and movies. A character who has been on one side for a fairly long period of time suddenly announces that they have been working for the other side this entire time, even though they have never ever shown any signs of going the other way at all. It's a fairly easy and lazy way to get out of a corner the writers have painted themselves into. Sometimes the double agent thing works, and mostly it's because the writers have given subtle hints that this was going to happen. Ruby in Supernatural is a good example of this. But more often than not, the character suddenly announces he's the bad guy and has been the whole time which means that the character in question is both an amazing liar and an better actor than Olivier. The truth is in the real world maybe one out of a thousand people could actually pull off the kind of con that these characters pull off all of the time. So when something happens like what happened with Tony this year, my suspension of disbelief is shattered because it was so obvious that this was not an idea that was though of when they started writing the series, but something they pulled out of their asses at the last minute to get another "twist" out of the season.
-
I still care more about Kim than I did about the off-screen deaths of thousands of people due to some terrorist attack using some magical device. And I don't really give a shit a bout Kim, so that tells you how much I cared about everything else this season.
Now, to the bittorrent client! -
I think wherever he is, he's enjoyed this season more often than not. I know I have.
-
motorboat Rack's glorious bosom. That is all.
-
Only two hours left.
-
May 18, 2009 11:30:51 AM CDT
Kim will die and Jack will be knocked out trying to save her.
by ihaveseeneveryepisodeofprisonbreak
Rack Bauer will have Kim's DNA used to save jack after her death! That is my guess at least!
-
For the first time in a long time I just don't give a shit what happens. The last quarter of this season has been dreadful. It can be saved by the finale but it will take a miracle.
-
Glad she is not coming back. Can't stand Janine Garafalololo. Can't even understand why she was in this show anyway.
-
Just saying.
-
Kim escapes with a pen, jack is the new bio weapon, Tony wants revenge on Wilson for controlling Logan... gets shot in the hand. President daughter arrested, Rack goes into torture mode, kim saves jack.
-
The last half hour is particularly slow.
-
3 stars nothing more nothing less.
dont know about the imam in the end though. always unsure about islam good guys on 24. There is a reason Fox broadcasts it... -
since I'm too lazy to hit the torrents or buy the DVD and will have to wait for broadcast: Kim dies, they use her baby's DNA to cure Jack, Tony gets away, Rack gets caught in the rain wearing naught but a wet t-shirt, Chloe stabs Janis in the face with a letter opener, and next season's big villain will be revealed to be Harrison Ford as himself.
-
DUH!
-
I will throw my JackSack at the screen...
-
I was a bit miffed that they sold the season as TONY vs. JACK! and we got like, what, two episodes out of it? Then they bailed on it. However, the show did get you invested in Tony again for almost the entire season, which was a smartly cruel move to THEN have him go evil again. The Tony Twist does come off as the last-minute rewrite of the back 6 episodes they did, but I dig it because Tony vs. Jack is some pretty emotionally heavy stuff. I think it could have lasted the full year, but I'll take the 8 or so episodes that were Evil Tony. Fun fact: Tony Almeda is the ONLY bad guy from episode 1 (that you knew was the main bad guy) to last through episode 24 in any season. Sure, they kinda cheated in the middle there, but I guess it works. Poor Tony is probably dead, but I'd like to see Carlos Bernard brought back for the Big Bad of Season 8. Somehow I doubt it. Tony dies again, but he's been walking dead for awhile.
-
I would if I was not a bastard, which I am. I won't spoil anything, I will only give you my reaction in general terms- excellent acting, some very deep character moments, a couple of fun surprises and a pretty good wrap-up. If you're stuck on Tony being good or evil, you're going to be disappointed with an ambiguous answer. I personally think they fucked up the character, but that's like my opinion, man.
Oh and Rack Bauer has the hottest action scenes imaginable. -
For everyone who trashed the unrealism and inconsistency of the silly show "heroes" yet swear by 24, I ask you this, "Where is the realism of this show this year?" Everything that has been done in this season was done before, and it was better then. There is nothing at all original or plausible here. Nothing. Every possible plot twist or character change has been done before with better actors in better stories. This show flat. Sutherland looks tired. There are points when they get to the morality of what Jack does. There, and only there, it is compelling. Otherwise, this show should have stopped after season 5. Yes, "Heroes" is silly and very inconsistent. So is "24."
-
but all the stuff with president's daughter...? even though retired agent of s.h.i.e.l.d. was kind of involved with that subplot, it made me awfully sleepy.
-
Well done to all involved!
-
have had strong seasons this year, but to help me God, if either crowd out Breaking Bad for a best drama Emmy, there will be hell to pay.
-

This show is a parody of itself
by guy who got a headache and accidentally
You people are still brainwashed from the adrenaline high you somehow still miraculously get from it, despite it being the most predictable shit on tv. It is literally a comedy. If you played a drinking game where you took a shot everytime kiefer says "he's our only lead, you'd be fucking dead in the first five minutes of any episode.
-
24 and Lost were at there worst this year. I really feel like when it comes to television I'm the only one who can see how full of shit these shows are, everyone else, I don't know, maybe they don't want to feel like all the years of watching have been for nothing or something, beats the hell out of me. It's really turned into a fucking chore to watch these shows.
-
Look out for it. There's something funny about how she waves her hand frantically.
-
Nothing more, nothing less. I watched the first hour of the finale, and it's pretty damn good, so I'm looking forward to hour 2. This season was a nice return to form after the horrible season 6. It's nowhere near as good as seasons 1,2, or 5, but I'd put it ahead of 3, 4 and 6. It may not be the watercooler show it once was, but at least it's entertaining again. I'll pick up the blu-ray for sure.

My Favourite Season Finals This Year
by christian_bale_trashed_my_lights
1. Fringe2. Lost3. 244. Supernatural10. HeroesDon't like it? Fuck you, it's my list (and yeah, I missed out 5 - 9, but I couldn't think of anything to bridge the gap between the awesomeness of 'Supernatural' and the shitiness of 'Heroes')
-
..from what I hear, 'Smallville' had a worse season final than 'Heroes'. Who would have thought that'd be possible? Oh, wait. It's fucking 'Smallville'.It's possible.
-
... but your placement of LOST as number 2 is a good choice. It could have been a LOT better...
-
30 rock had a great one: band aid +
"we sure had quite a year"
"what are you talking about? it's may"
office would've had a great finale if it wasn't rushed in half an episode.
scrubs had a good series finale, but now that we know that there's gonna be more, it feels somehow less... good.
chuck probably deserves #5 on that list. if for no other reason, then for "I know kung fu." and "chuck me!"
T:TSCC finale was also very good, but just as knowing that there will be more scurbs takes it away from their finale, knowing that SCC is canceled makes me think that it could've been better (more plots resolved, no GIANT cliffhanger/gamechanger at the end)
in the "meh" category we have bones, house, united states of tara and FNL (which is, in my opinion, on of the best series on TV that no one is watching. it's just that I thing that penultimate episode -yes, I went there- was better season finale then the actual one).
and then we have prison break season/series finale. which makes heroes/smallville seem like golden globe material. the sheer amount of bullshit launched at the viewers (were there any?) in the last season culminated with that 2 hour finale to that degree that, while forcing myself to watch, I felt like I was at bukkake party gone horribly wrong. and to think wow good the first and second (before the shitty and unnecessary ending) seasons were...
and just for the record: I loved BSG finale, and would put it on top of the list. I also understand that not all people think like me (yet! my synchromind device is almost complete...), and that lots of people hated/disliked it. -
Here we go. Jack's body count BETTER be up above 10.
-
With this weak finale, 24 has officially jumped the shark. Despite a few nice character moments (primarily the final conversation between Jack and Rack), this wrap-up demonstrated how far 24's storytelling quality has slid... or how weak a showrunner that Howard Gordon is... you take your pick. Season 6 notwithstanding, 24 has clearly suffered from the creative absence of Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran. Normally, we'd get a real shocker ending with some very moving emotional moments. Instead, we got 1) story developments so obvious, they were lifted from the weaker years of Mission: Impossible; 2) PC pandering to Muslims with Jack's sudden interest in Islam; 3) the typical "I'm going to tell you everything about why I want to kill you, so that the good guys have enough time to stop me from doing so" scene with Tony and Wilson; 4) too much time at the end spent with this season's White House family vs. any time with Jack and Kim, the latter of which is more fundamental to the series; and finally 5) NO PAYOFF! Just HINTS of what COULD happen... if you stick around for next season. After a 24-episode buildup, that is totally LAME. It's clear the new writing staff doesn't have the balls to GO THERE with the characters like in previous seasons. It's almost as if they're trying to absolve themselves from the controversial positions the series has taken in prior seasons under Surnow's leadership. By doing so, they've neutered the series... which is an appropriate analogy. The entire two-hour finale was just a huge jackoff session with no cum shot. 24 is officially impotent.
-
That's ABSURD!!!!
-
not with a bang but a whimper
-
Mary Page... Kim Finally put down a Cougar.
-
Awesome.
-
And that was a nice "DAMMIT!" from Kim.
-
from Kim.
-
Just my observation.
-
That's a rarity...take three shots of Patron and do a line of blow off of a hooker's tits.
-
A Kim Bauer "Dammit!"
It must run in the family!
-
That was an awesome "dammit!" from Kim.
-
...from the Scooby-Doo Mystery plot with Aaron and Ethan. I smell sitcom!
-
May 18, 2009 7:29:42 PM CDT
It's like I'm watching a comedy skit of the show
by guy who got a headache and accidentally
This shit with Kim is hilarious
-
Long Haired bad guy gets shot in the knee and runs away? Seriously? That's real?
-
standing out in the open, giving the shooter free, easy looks at them. Kim Bauer "dammit!" was pretty epic though.
-
Kim Bauer is "Jaqueline Bauer; CTU Agent-at-Large"!!!!! DAMN IT!!!!!!
-
Jaqueline Bauer and Rack Bauer in bed together.....Yuummmm....
-
To catch the long-hair fuck. See? She isn't going to be tied to railroad tracks.
-
Loved the Kim Bauer DAMMIT!
-
I love that guy!
-
Dammit was off the charts awesome...
Tony is awfully pushy in meeting the HDIC. -
...Is a good guy.
-
Why did they need Jack alive to rebuild the virus?
-
He knows whats up.
-
...last 20 mins are really just lo-key setup for season 8. The only really great part of this was when the daughter goes a bit nutso with her "he stole my property" schitck. It made me so psyched to see her get her ass handed to her, which is the mark of a good villain. The rest... not so exciting. And yeah, way to end on the kind of lukewarm action scene you'd expect with 20 mins to go... then give us nothing but season 8 setup, only after which do we realise that yes, that really WAS the climax in that warehouse. Really?? :-(
-
It's exciting!
-
Stop Spoiling! :^P
-
I forgot that Kim wasn't a complete idiot when written that way.
-
Jack's sick so the women do all the heavy lifting.
-
Redshirts on 24 are pretty good this season...
-
Anyone who doesn't think so is a fuckin' FAGGOT.
-
Sorry that was too easy. You have to admit, for Hollywood standards, she's a little above average size wise.
-
...she's on fire!!
That was pretty funny. -
is almost as good as Rack's bouncy run. Almost.
-
Had something like four bullets in him, he drives a car, strongly grabs Kim. Even better, the car catches fire? Guess I am missing something about the excitement.
-
That's how Bauer's roll
-
...if more than one person thinks of it. Bleh.
And ol' Kimmy is the perfect size to satisfy all of my desires. -
Kim sure looking gooood tonight, and with Renee... Rack Jr & Rack Sr!!
MMMMMMMMM -
Don't know why you guys are complaining. Unless, of course, it's all downhill from here, with a touching moment between Tony and Jack looking lovingly into eachothers' eyes...
@ZoeyFan...
Sure, she's made her way around the NHL, but what woman her age hasn't been porked a few times?
Also, as far as big asses go? I like 'em. I cannot lie. -
at the Compton Swap Meet- Baby Weight or no Baby Weight. ;^)
-
Kim: "Technobabble gobbledygoop technobabble." Rack: "Zuh?"
-
Kim Bauer sloppy seconds.
-
I'm getting a Genesis now!
-
in spinal fluid alone, nice. Oh and I've uploaded it
-
Tony's going to reveal he's a double double agent!
-
Fuck with JACK BAUER!
Sack or no sack.
Jack body count: 3. -
zombie jack, hell stab you in the god damn throat
-
Who do you "JACK" to more often?
-
Reminds me of when he died and came back to life.
-
Even with a seziure inducing pathogen level of +10 Jack can drop 3 evil dr's in under 60 seconds
-
where you at? I'm Fondy
-
Jack just had a spinal tap, has 2 hours to live from a prion-variant virus, and was shot with a severe dose of muscle relaxant. And he gets up and owns 3 doctors and escapes? That's almost as impossibly ridiculous as the First Gentleman killing a youthful, militarily-trained SS agent while in a drug-induced stupor.
But god help me, I'm loving this episode. -
Are we live blogging Glee next week?
What? -
Living the dream.
-
did the sun just rise in the last 5 minutes?
-
Jack just had his spine tapped and he gets up and kills the bad guys, including Carson. Can't wait for the explanation there. Though it is interesting to see Kim. By the show' chronologically, she must be in her 40sby now.
-
finally has something to do.
-
And we'd be making DC Cab jokes.
-
Tony is going for the head of the snake. He's double-secret-probation undercover!
-
would have been awesome. And by "that" I mean a garage door decapitation for Soulpatch Ratboy.
-
Who the fuck DOESN'T like this guy? I'd watch an Aaron Pierce: AoS spinoff.
-
Yeah.
-
Really?... REALLY?... I'm NOT liking this turn.
-
Finally, the truth.
-
reveald
-
LOST Finale anyone?
-
a la Return of the Jedi.
-
meant to add "in order to redeem himself". Predictable, but maybe he'll go out with a bang...like Mayday at the end of A View To A Kill!
-
But damn. Nice.
-
or Darth Almeida or Darth Ratboy probably sound better.
-
using Jack as a human bomb to kill the guy? Interested in seeing how Jack is going to get out of this one. Tony ain't good nor evil. He's just one crazy, vindictive fucker.
-
I didn't like it... but I'll live with it.
-
...were fucking behind the season 5 plot?!? Cummings, Henderson, Logan, Bluetooth Bauer, Senior Bauer...CHRIST.
-
better security than the good guys on this show
-
can Tony kill him with a cellphone?
-
Do you know why you won't fight? Because you have nothing to fight for! You don't care about anything! You don't value anything! You don't believe in anything! That's what makes me better!
-
I'm so turned on right now....
-
thank you exploding barrels
-
Is find a flight of stairs to run down. Sheesh.
-
Who keeps barrels of fuel just lying around outside of 24 and video games?
-
just pulled one heck of a stunt roll.
-
Rack and I are going to have some... intimate moments... later tonight.
-
"I can't let you go Daddy" Just when I hoped they would wrap up the loose ends, it endded abrubtly, just like that. And Tony's ulterior motive for betraying his country was a bit cliche. Please Fux, just kill this series already.
-
with those hands, imagine what else she can do.
-
arrrrg
-
Whoo!
That must be how BSB feels when typing! -
You killed my wife. Prepare to die.
-
Yowza.
-
Even a spastic Jack Bauer is a DEAD EYE shot...
This show is ridiculous, but awesome, all at once. -
Need to just pull the damn trigger
-
has redeemed the last few episodes. Maybe that's what the rewrites were for. Nice little twist there.
-
KLINGON BASTARDS KILLED MY SON!
-
that was almost too painful to watch, he did a good job with that scene
-
Do those two have a past?
-
Oh, ho ho! You sly dog!
-
Straight out of "The Princess Bride" only better. Good scene there.
-
awesome 20 minutes there! Emmy
-
with that last scene. 30 minutes left, too...wonder what will happen next?
-
Stand the guy up against the post and be done with it...
-
I should have kept track of Rack's body count..
Jack's BodyCount still sits at: 3. -
He's not even fun to watch anymore. Breaking the rules and killing for the greater good is okay when you got a badge and your name is Jack Bauer but nobody else can do it. It's pretty fucking irritating at this point. Do people really like watching this guy anymore? Some fucking "hero" he is.
-
...didn't Jack just shoot Curtis in the fucking hand?
-
Just one more reason Season Six SUCKED.
-
Let him finish the job already! Will Patton deserves a nasty death for appearing in The Postman, anyway.
-
of Olivia's contact...or maybe she'll "do whatever is necessary"
-
Jack did NOT have that shot on Curtis... the only shot he had was the neck; Curtis was using the hotsage as a shield. Not as an Agent of SHIELD.
-
Excellent point on Curtis. Shoot him in the hand, why kill a friend?
-
But I can tell how we did it when Bush and Cheney were in office...
-
and did not deserve that death. If the writers can return Tony from the dead, then they can get BLACK JACK BACK!
-
Costner gets too much undeserved shit.
-
The Chinese have a tanker waiting for you"
-
Liked that scene with Jack and Renee. Really thoughtful.
-
I will say this... the writer's NAILED this aspect of their story in the end.
-
Sandra Bullock would need Ryan Reynolds to help her open a movie
-
We have beewn waiting a very rong time!
-
In my book, we got it. I will keep my soul patch.
-
Was Renee Zellweger already booked?
-
And they wonder why TV is dying?
-
Yep. I'd still hit the first daughter.
-
May 18, 2009 8:40:02 PM CDT
So what, CTU agents don't swear any oaths
by guy who got a headache and accidentally
They just get a license to kill?
-
If you liked Jack's speech you might like the following:
http://townhall.com/columnists/ CharlesKrauthammer/2009/05/15/ the_torture_debate,_continued -
but it's SOOO much fun to make fun of.
-
Gotta love it
-
and yes, I meant to say 'man'.
-
I lover her awkward compliments.
Mostly, I love her Baby Boobs. -
nooo, we're running out of time!
-
he just needs some of that sweet Rack Bauer nectar.
-
Just like Cat Stevens - oh, too old of a reference
-
a muslim in season 8.
-
Perfect delivery
-
Except Rack Bauer's polka dot lingerie...
-
...time to adminster the stem cell treatment
-
You know you want to see it! A pistol in one hand, a copy of the Koran in the other.
-
I got the Cat Stevens reference. But I'm old.
-
Only that can save Mr. Bauer. :(
-
Don't think it was mentioned...anyone?
-
I seemd to think we did... thought there was a reference to Michelle's murder being a double homicide... then again, I could TOTALY be mixing things up.
-
Sounded a little to sincere
-
Went from being a great ending to the season, could've had a cliffhanger leaving us wondering if Jack lives or dies, and could've ended having Jack leaving words of wisdom to Rack Bauer and then going into the ambulance. Instead, we watch a man in his supposed death throes begging for forgiveness for what he's done. And, still 15 minutes remain.
-
will be returning next season?
-
How are they going to have Jack get healed to fight the next terrorist who holds the White house hostage next year?
-
But still outstanding, just in a different way!
-
Although I'm surprised her parents named her Adam
-
Rack Bauer and the muslim cleric clumsily fighting terrorism and lecturing in New York while Jack recouperates and munches jello in the hospital.
-
I'd assume.
-
...Time to indict Olivia for conspiracy to commit murder
-
Shit, this daughter story has been going on since Feb
-
is really moving slow. Like molasses slow.
-
Just does his job. He'll stab a mofo if he has to, but he just does his job.
-
Didn't think so.
Chrth - good on ya -
Going the single President route again?
-
but not for her cellmate. Yay-er!
-
Can't she just turn around and Pardon her?
-
That this is why a chick wouldn't make a good PResident, right?
-
The brilliant writers at 24 will keep things fresh by now having an evil President's husband!
-
A mother daughter Michelle Yeoh Zhyi Zhang style swordfight?
-
Can't torture out a confession in 5 minutes..
-
Just grand.
-
I've got a Pole you can secure your hands to...
-
Is Rack Bauer evil?
-
Of Rack Bauer 2.0...
Rack Bauer 2: Even Rackier?
Rack Bauer 2: Yeah... I'm at a loss. -
execute him.
-
"No, he's still alive Kim."
Not the, er... best written line. -
and runs off with General Bethlehem.
-
I bet no one took her seriously in med school
-
does that mean that Jack will be weak against Cougars?
-
Fuck that bitch.
-
Having died saving Jack.
-
Jack could still kill 3 evil doctors in under 60 seconds
-
WHAT THE EVER LOVING FUCK????
-
next season?
-
That kind of sucked.
-
I'm imagining that "Sunny" slept her way to the top.
-
will be this season's finale.
-
...when we finally found out who was behind Charles Logan! It can't end with Wilson! IT HAS TO GO HIGHER AND HIGHER, AND DEEPER AND DEEPER, UNTIL EVERYONE IS IMPLICATED IN THE MOST SECRET CONSPIRACY EVER!
-
Suddenly I feel like it's May 21 1980.
-
Maybe next year you'll be free, Jack
-
This felt like a mid season episode.
-
What a terrible ending... as anticlimactic as you can get. BUT
It did hammer their point that Torture is good. And I'm all for more ass kicking Rack Bauer. -
Hmmmm

jack is revived from his coma in 2032 and has to kill wesley snipes with the help of rack bauer's daughter.
-
behind EVERYTHING.
-
With Palner passed out. Then, in Season 3 they ignore it. WTF?
-
Not ENTIRELY happy with the Tony resolution, but once he killed Larry, it was about as good as they could do. It made sense that he was trying to draw out somebody higher up in the conspiracy, and the Michelle card AND the unborn son card sold it better than expected. The Kim-as-victim thing wasn't dragged out, so that wasn't so bad. Overall, I think it was a pretty fucking good season marred somewhat by some lackluster late episodes, and only partially redeemed in the end. But definitely worth the ride. I'll be here for Season 8.
-
You are right about that. Season 1's closing was a classic. Obviously, in this case, the stem cell stuff will heal Jack. I agree with Chrth. It looked like Jack was going to die. Then someone else could be the star. That would be cool.
-
SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! SHIT! That's the END?!? MUDDERFUCKERSSS!!!!!!
-
Yeah, a little drawn out and neatly wrapped up at the end of the 24 hours, but I'm intrigued with what would've happened with Freckles and Wilson, and what the President have up her sleeves with Wilson as well.
-
with Rack closing the door. Oh well.
-
I can't believe this awful shit
-
The pathogen in Jack's blood turns out to be the rage virus and Jack awakes to a post apocolyptic DC filled with speed zombies. Jack then has to battle his way out of DC using all his past training except torture doesn't work on zombie's

RACK BAUER 3: The Evil Deep in Me
-
They should have swapped that scene with the Kim/Jack scene...would have felt much better.
-
Renee: "Will this do a thing to change him? Am I better off kidnapping Kim? Or is Jack Bauer too far gone to care?"
Janis: "What if Bauer can't defeat them?"
Chloe: "Beady-eyes is right let's help him ... or we could just sit around and glare."
All: "We'll see it through that's what we're always here to do so we will walk through the fire" -
that Tony killed Larry?
-
I want a REAL FUCKING ENDING!!
-
Would be Jack & Kim... almost HAD to be. But RACK just about going Jack was the little twist at the end for everyone... Glad she's back in S8!
-
GOD DAMMIT... now I've got to put in the OMWF disc and burn through that tonight.
Which means that, yep... it's a Buffy marathon. -
He has better ideas than the writer, director and editor do. Well done!
-
Fuck. Maybe next season.
-
... was an overlaying theme from the movie right on through.
-
an entire score for Once More ... With Torture, well you don't know me very well ;)
-
HAHA... Sign me up for the newsletter.
-
Definitely better than last one. We'll be back in January, in NYC.
-
...Almeida's super-villain-esque ending - being dragged away, in custody, whilst screaming at the hero. "YOU'LL LIVE TO REGRET THIS! YOU HAVEN'T SEEN THE LAST OF ME!" etc.

seagrass, I was thinking the same thing re: Rack being evil.
by pennsydeux
Something about her body language.
-
At least Burn Notice comes back on June 4th.
-
Ever notice that? In every season finale, he never gets to say the last word.
-
But he did get the last scene...and he shouldn't have.
-
Mucho gracias, Kiefer and Company. Now get yer anger management issues under wraps and let's have a farewell tour (season 8) to remember.
-
gross
-
She gave the -Evil I'm a dirty whore and more is going on than I really am letting on- smile/look. She's a baddy.
-
about that ending? They've set up a lot of threads to deal with next season. It's a low key cliffhanger but it's still a cliffhanger. And Almeida will be back next year. They would have just killed him if they didn't have plans to use him.
-
She's well on her way to becoming the next Jack. White t-shirt and braless next season. And it rains all day. Fuuuuck.
-
she's just going rogue like Jack does on occasion. It would be fun to have a season begin right where the previous season left off but with the move to NYC I doubt it.
-
I believe he did in Season 3. Answered a call after he was crying, or something like that. Might've been 4.Next, the haters can suck it. I liked the finale, EVEN Kim's part. Get that long-haired motherfucker, girl!!!! And yes, it sets up a good premise for 8.

Jack needs to recover and the First Lady has to disappear (Ethan and Allison sitting in a tree?). Although it would be great if Tony was in a coma at the start of the next season and they had to wake him up from it.
-
Although if both of them were in a coma ...
-
Jack will spend most of next season recuperating and directing CTU: NY, while Rack Bauer will end up as the field agent (assuming she isn't evil, which would kinda suck).
-
those last few episodes. Definitely one of my favorite seasons! Jonas still went out like a bitch, though...he deserved better (or worse).
-
Disappointing final 30 mins. I liked the fact that the President finally sacked up though. Ethan's getting some the next morning, for sure. Tony and Jack are going down Mr White/Mr Orange style at the end of next season - I'm calling it now.
-
Because that would be EPIC.
-
Not the best or even close to the worst. I'm sure Jack will live and the next one will probably be a month or two later if I had to guess. I kind of zoned out when Rack was chaining up Janice. I saw her put her badge down and face Wilson. Did she go in and do anything after that or did it just end with us not knowing what she did? Please help me out someone, I know its dumb, I just can't remember if there was anything after...
I agree she could get her own series. -
Think of the possibilites a Jack/Rack torture team up could bring.
Jack: "How do you want to begin, sweetie? Bullet to the knee?"
Rack: "Nah, too loud, too sudden. How about we break each finger?"
Jack: *smiles* "that's my girl." -

the 24 movie comes out, correct? Or has that been canceled, too?
-
They pulled her back in for the final humiliation. After the redemption scene with Chloe, I commented to my wife that it was the moment that she had signed out for (and suffered) the whole season...and then the scene with Freckles comes on.
-
Jack's going down next season. Either in glorious bullet time, or he and Tony will huddle close and detonate some bomb taking down the entire conspiracy.
-
Her big break and she gets upstaged by the same old Chloe Bullshit.
-
When Kiefer will need a work release job from jail?? :)
-
GOD DAMN THAT WAS BRILLIANT FROM START TO FINISH. ONE OF THE BEST TWO HOURS THIS SHOW HAS EVER PRODUCED! I'M AGASP. PERFECT.
-
They took extra time to write that crap for an ending to the season. I could have reached into a service station commode and came up with better $hit!

I LOVE the grand conspiracy running through all the seasons!
by dogmatic
I was beginning to think this season was gonna be starting over and letting Pa Bauer's death in Season 6 be the end of it...but no! This ep's revelations keep it going deeper!
It goes all the way back to Season 1...when Mandy heads off on her first terrorism involved assigment. She appeared at the end of season 2 to kill Palmer and she appeared in Season 4 in signifigant role as well...always used to help further the "shadow groups" plans. She is a connecting link. Obviously these evil forces are looking to drive up all their oil interests and create a world war 3 in the process with the endgame as yet unclear. Season 1 was about taking out a Presidential candidate that was obviously gonna mess things up for them. Season 2 was about starting a nuclear war and driving up oil prices...followed by another attempt to kill Prez Palmer. Season 3 was about undermining the President's (Saunders was obviously released by the shadow powers that be to wreak havoc)authority. Season 4 was about handing over a Mid-East extremist a chance to blow up L.A. and basically do what they were tyring to do in Season 2 PLUS offing the President in the meantime and getting Charles Logan into power. Season 5 was about tying up loose ends that knew about the conspiracy and getting the Russians to start WW3 with an attack from the U.S. and protecting their puppet Prez's position. Season 6 was about one of the patriarchs of the conspiracy (Pa Bauer) trying to protect his legacy and once again setting things up for Mid-East terrorists to start WW3 once again. Was Pa Bauer the end??
NO! Season 7 was about revealing more of these shadow guys and in Will Patton revealing the biggest highest ranking shadow conspiracy guy yet! Here we saw the beginnings of another plan as opposed to reacting to the results of another plan. They were trying to creat their latest weapon and this time Jack and Rack and (mostly vengeful Tony) caught them in the act, stopped it, and caught a Big Fish!!! And the end had Rack getting ready to get some juicy details out of him about the conspiracy (finally!!!) and Jack getting ready to get revived and prepare to take on the BIG conspiracy finallly!!!! With the end of Season 8 possibly leading to an end-all blast-all feature film finale?? I tell you people it's good times to be a 24 fan!!! -
But in my pathetic prowess, couldn't finish the fucking chapter where you are chasing the car through LA to a specific place (does anyone know what I am talking about?). I am normally pretty good at video games but I just could not force that MF into where I needed him to go. So...I missed the season 2 payoff that came with that. What a fucking loser.
-
Shit for sure (though I do like the atmo jub that they do), but it does remind me of the Mitch Rapp novels. Who on this chat is the champion of those those? It's a girl, I'm fairly sure. AllyCat, maybe? Anyway, I started reading them and they are great.
-
the more I really liked the finale. 8/10 from me.
-
Best part of the show.
That, and we got to hear the words "weaponized" and "pathogen" again. I could hear shot glasses 'round the world hitting the tables. -
That's what that last hour was. I think Wilson reports to Jonathan Winters -- in full Maude Frickard regalia, natch.
-
It wasn't chock full of action, twists, or craziness, but it was full of character. Very different for this show. The whole "who killed Palmer" thing is so convoluted now it's not even worth thinking about, so I won't. I'm sure the writers wish they could redo season 6. Tony's final confrontation (while pretty awesome) would have had even more impact w/ Graem. Too bad they blew that opportunity last season. Oh well, I thought this finale was a nice wrap up for the season. It explained Tony's actions earlier in the day (as well as they can be explained), and it wrapped up some of the thematic issues as well. Loved the ambiguous ending w/ Renee. In fact, everything involving Rack Bauer was pure gold. I have to admit I kept expecting some crazy twist at the end, but, you know what? I'm glad they didn't go there. This was very good. Especially hour 24.
-
I am thinking it would be flat out AWESOME if Donald Sutherland (the real Pa Bauer) was the main baddie at the top of the whole conspiracy. He has been perfect as smarmy evil heavies in the past and it would be sweetly poetic. Or, if that is too gimmicky then get a real heavy actor like Robert DeNiro or Gene Hackman or Morgan Freeman to be the main baddie. Imagine Donald or one of those others giving the whole diatribe about why they have done what they have done and all this....and Jack like accusing them of every life theyve taken like Terry, Chappele, Michelle, Edgar,Curtis, Prez Palmer etc. and taking him down!
-
The David Palmer conspiracy from 24, or the Laura Palmer conspiracy from Twin Peaks?
-
Even with Tony, my initial reaction was that they ruined the character, but watching it again, I thought about it some more and while he is truly "fallen" his acts are not outlandish. He is a man with nothing to lose. All he has to live for was the hope of getting his revenge. Good people lose their moral code all of the time. Tony is a killer. That's what's left of the once-heroic Almeida. And ya know what, I'm fine with that outcome because it jives with a man of his background and experiences.
Jack Bauer has evolved too. I was critical of the "Jack is dying" plot for a while because the outcome never seemed in doubt. But what the writers managed was show that Jack Bauer is not the same man Heller chewed out at the end of Season 6. This Bauer has faced his demons in light of his imminent death. His conversation with Renee was poignant- great acting there too. Bauer is the focus of this show, not Almeida. And Bauer's soul was saved this season. And fuck the right-wing backlash, but his scene with the Imam was also moving. Maybe the human weapon died tonight and the new Jack will be a wiser, less impulsive man. I would like to see them explore something along those lines.
Solid writing, great acting, I enjoyed this more thoughtful 2-part finale. -
I don't remember the ending, but the game was fun. I think I took care of it during one weekend.
-
Does the chick in the airport count as the second time a COUGAR attacked Kim?!?!
-
We covered that in the last talkback, but yes, it does.
-
of the finale over at USA Today. He also enjoyed the more quiet, reflective ending. I just finished watching it again, and it's even better when you're not expecting some crazy 24 plot twist.
-
Jack's spiritual awakening is real. As the most qualified former member of CTU, he's heading up their largest bureau, but the first part of the day, he's trying to rein in his out-of-control protege, a disgraced former FBI agent whose recklesness reminds him of everything he ever did wrong. But sometime, in the latter half of the day, something happens that causes him to snap, to return to the old ways, and talkbacks around the Internet clamor to the cheers of "Jack's Back!"

so yea i love that ending honestly. good shit. Ill be back with final thoughts.
-
that Tony shit was hard to watch. the man is just a shell.yeah, anti-climatic ending, but it's all setup for season 8. i'll be watching.
-
Seriously, apart from Olivia getting it from mom, there is more tension in an apple that falls from a tree.
-
OK, that made a certain amount of sense. Evidently the dressing-down Heller gave Jack at the end of Season 6 had a lingering effect(and it's worth noting that both Heller then and Tony in this season's finale used the memory of Teri to knock some sense into his head). If Jack has finally reached the stage of regret that makes it necessary for him to come to terms with all the debris he's left in his wake, then(IMO)the best way to give his character closure is to kill him off in Season 8. Send him out in a Pyrrhic victory and call it good.
-
All these points are moot because 24 does relatively well in the ratings and I can't see a network like Fox, or any major network actually, give notes to a show about quality if the ratings are doing well. Anyway: 1. Write out the stories in advanced: 24 is notorious for being the only serialized show that makes up the story as they go along. It is painfully obvious that they know that they'll have two archs and they'll fill in the gap in between. Sometimes, it even seems that the second arch in the second half of the season is built out of the holes they wrote themselves in in the first half of the season. Sit down with your writers, work out the beats for the season (you know...like a beginning, middle and end) and try to make sense of it. 2. Establish new recurring/staple characters: Remember Palmer, Sherri, Nina, etc.? Those were characters we cared about and, despite msotly bad acting and irrational character decisions, we were emotionally invested in them. The problem is that the rate of staple characters they are killing off is exceeding the rate of new characters they are succesfully establishing. I'm glad they kept Tony alive and I hope they keep this new big bad alive..even Rack Bauer can prove to have some potential. 3. Make it more personal: The plot doesn't have to involve national security anymore. The zeitgeist has changed, and with it, what people want to see has changed as well. Tonight's finale was interesting because there was a lot of quiet moments where Jack would pontificate about moral ambiguity in the twilight of his life. Those are interesting concepts to address in a life of a man who has done so much wrong for the greater good. Build your plot so it is conducive to address the personal sturggles with the characters. Get rid of the endless faceless bad guys, the long listed criminal conspiracies, the 20 different government agencies involved, and even the President (doesn't have to be a regular cast member). 4. And finally, make Jack a morally ambiguous "bad" guy: Yeah I said it. Want to get your old fans back? Do what is the logical next step. Have Jack go vigilante rogue for what he believes is the greater good. Every season has little bits and pieces of this theme, but it's always to the extent where the audience is on his side. I've always imagined a season akin to 'Watchmen', with Jack finally finding the big bad, and pulling a Dr. Manhattan and deciding that the things he is now fighting for has changed and he no longer believes in them. He'll listen to what the Big Bad has to say, turn over to the "dark side", turn to Rack Bauer, and shoot her in the heart. SILENT CLOCK. The subsequent season will deal with what he'll be doing with the big bad and in the last season, his eventual redemption when he sacrifices himself for the greater good.

Carlose Bernard Did Great, Awesome Scene
by theenderreturnstosmiteoncemore
However, overall it was disappointing for me. Swami Salami coming in to pray with Jack, was stupid. I was hoping Jack would tell him to lean in closer and just whisper "I regret nothing you terrorist fuck" And use his not quite a Yamaka to shove down his throat and choke him to death. Fuck that bullshit. Anyway, Im glad Kim came back with her big tittied cells to save him. Kiefer said they havent shot their perfect season yet ( I beg to differ and I point to season 2) so Im hoping 8 will destroy my asshole with its fist and cum all over my balls. Kims arm being on fire was retarded too. And that airport had the worst security of all fucking time. Ever. It actually pissed me off, I couldn't suspend disbelief right there. I was just like....okay who the fuck wrote this, and why do they have jobs. I got accepted to film school, I hope to get into this shit within the next 3 years. And the idiots who insist on doing this bullshit, have taught me vicariously how to avoid annoying your core audience. Anyway, tits, cunts, twats, fuck you, eat shit. And long live Jack Bauer.
-
I kept count all the way through Season 4 to Season 6 and I couldn't do it this year. I think it was somewhat lower, even though Keifer said it would be higher. There's a Jack Count and a Other Character Count for a total count. I think the other characters may have had more DAMMIT'S this year than Jack, but I didn't keep count.
-
I can take either. As long as he's an antagonist to Jack and really pissed off and willing to kill innocent people, he makes a great bad guy. Have no idea how they'd use him in Season 8. Probably not at all, which would be a shame. Bernard rules, esp. when he's completely broken down. I thought Jack was going to flat-out shoot him in the face, though. Woulda been pretty powerful stuff, but him being dragged away ranting like a Scooby Doo villain wasn't that bad either.

Holy Shit......The New Me Is BlackJackBauer2
by theenderreturnstosmiteoncemore
Hats off to you for keeping it down with the foul language, point by point dissections, Titty appreciation, Dick references, use of the words fuck and cunt, and above all else...loyalty to Jack. Fuck yeah man!
-
This is going to be the longest fucking stretch between seasons for me not knowing your thoughts on women, politics and general popular culture. Dude, you gotta promise us you're coming back and also that you're going to make appearances during the off season. Do you have a website? An agent? A radio program? Your recap was actually better than the finale, which I liked anyway.
-
Yeah boy!
-
I wasn't really satisfied by how Tony's arc was handled and resolved. It was always doubtful that he was truly 'evil', but strapping a bomb to Jack was OTT. Jack's strange conversion to Islam was a little out of left-field too.
Saying that, some good moments. Kim was finally sensible and not completely annoying. Jack and Rack's dialogue towards the end was good.
Most of the White House scenes seemed superfluous.
All in all. It was okay. -
or get on the phone to max and tell max they have him season 2 was the only seroius good ending to 24 hated the chinese one this one lame last like 6 eps sucked pine cones well we will see who they blame for palmers death next season i think it will be shoe ki kim or lee harvey or freckles bauer

She's turned to the dark side.It did kind of fizzle at the end, didn't it? Kim's predicament didn't turn out anywhere nearly as badly as it could have; her dammit was nice, as was her jiggly run. The revelation about Almeida Jr. was a nice touch as well. But on the whole, this season did prove that 24 could still do what it does, even if it's too formulaic for some. No question it was better than last season.

I think Im too immature to be able to run a blog properly to compile my 3rd grade thoughts, but Ill be around. I hate that shit this is over tho, I feel like a fuckin giant black bear that by nature has to hibernate til 2010 but my dick tells me it still wants to fuck bitches daily, Im confused and lost and dont have a home. There should be a hidden season they havent shown us yet or sometihg, a fuckin prequel with my nigga then Senator David FUCKING Palmer and Bauer. the fuck else do I have to watch? Entourage, Dexter...cool shit but NOT FUCKING WITH THE POWER HOUR. fuck man yall got me depressed. this shit feels like the end of Meatballs. ahaha fuckin Rudy was the SHIT one day on one summer of his life and i bet when he went back home all he could do is sit there and plot and plan til next year. well I guess that makes me Rudy '09 bitches.... BUT FUCK THAT IM GONNA STALK AGENT FRECKLES and suck on those delicious connect the red dot TITTAYS
-
Granted, he co-wrote it with Manny Coto, and granted there were story editors to polish it up.
-
From Kim's "Dammit" to Tony's "losing it" scene at the end there, fucking top-notch. A huge improvement over last season, and the way they ended it with Chesty Freckles...nice.
-
I weep for Obama-America.
-
Kim and Renee..... *has weaponized virus seizure*
-
why any of you liked that pile of garbage. This was a solid season up until about two weeks ago and then they just dropped the ball. Last night’s finale was soft and the writing was sophomoric.
-
such a disappointment. Even though I'd love to put a bullet between Kim's eyes, it was nice to hear her fill in for her ailing father.
Overall, this felt like a bad soap opera. I think Jack has cried more this season than he ever has. His badassery is waining. -
I completely disagree. I don't think this show renounced ANYTHING last night. You know what I do think? I think that it's a big setup for Season Eight events to cause a renunciation of what appeared to be renounced; that totally makes sense if you read it 5 times, I think. Here's what I think happens:1. Season Eight begins with a new, anti-torture Jack...who, over the course of the season, realizes that his going soft costs more innocent lives than doing things the other way. 2. Jack befriending Mr. Muslim just stinks of conservative propaganda. A kind of "See? We can all get along!" type thing...it felt very cheap this season, that whole two-episode mini-arc that ends with Mr. Muslim and Jack having a gay nod of "Hey, you're all right" to each other. 3. The stem cell treatment could very well be revealed to have compromised Kim's health or maybe even killed her by the time next season starts. And we all know what kind of message THAT would send...Bottom line is, don't get your hopes up. I'm definitely looking at it glass-half-empty, but there's no reason for the show to change, so why would it? Hell, I'll still watch. I could give a damn about political agendas. But I'm not blind, either.

the plot for S8 is actually more plausible than usual for 24. We'll see how that pans out, LOL.
-
More like PC Liberal propaganda, imo. The whole ep was a sharp hard-turn to the Left (Stem Cells, Jack/Mr Muslim, evil defense contracters, etc). Now, maybe they're just setting things up for the "real" Jack to come back but looking at last night's conclusion on it's own, the show will be VERY liberal next season.

Hot racks? - Check! Gunfights? - Check! Helicopter stunts? - Check! Great emotional moments? - Check! Lot's of "Dammit"? - Check! Intelligent plots?... Intelligent plots?... Bueller?... Bauer?... ANYONE? This season went downhill with plot "twists" once again, beginning with the White House stupidity! They had a great beginning and I had hope they would throw away those stupid "action plots" from prior seasons 5 AND 6! But in the end there'll always be the GREAT season 2! AND the beatiful finale of season 4 with a family, functional but departed. And Jack walking off the sunset! Season 5 opener marked the beginning of trashy plots and stupid kill-offs of familiar characters. They never recovered from that trash! The conspiracy laid out with Max and friends back in season 2 was so great and they missed the opportunity totally! Instead they brought in the chinese AND the rogue Bauer family - what a waste of script paper and continuity! They could have thrown in good ol' cold bitch Mandy anytime for a guest ppearance now and then, but they DIDN'T! What a shame! Now they really have to go DEEPER and DEEPER to dig up that bloody conspiracy thing they should have followed more intensely before instead of blowing up everything they see to feed us with action, action, action! Next season though I'll be back again with Jack, Rack and Co. Because I WANT to love it! And because I'm an optimist! And I want Tony back on Jack's side - though I fear it will be next to impossible! But GET Mandy AND Max BACK! For a great series finale!!!
-
Gang-banged with a strap-on!!! She'll come out fully dilated.

I will respectfully disagree with most of your opinions. While this day ended with no cliffhanger and more of an epilogue, I'm good with that and think it's a nice change to a pattern '24' had fallen into, despite those cliffhangers being pulled off effectively.
How could the season end without Jack in a coma from a virus he was infected with, and dealing with the fallout of an amazing action-packed day?!
I thought the emotion Carlos Bernard showed during his speech to the villain was exceptional. At first, I thought it seemed cliché too, but what would you say to the man responsible for the death of your wife and unborn child. After Tony coldly capped the chick he used to get to Wilson, flashed an evil Tony-glare...he just charged at Wilson showing that raw anger and hatred! If anything, the speech and reveal about Michelle's pregnancy served to explain to viewers his motivation for everything. This is a TV show after all, and on '24' the characters have always been larger than life.
The First Family drama is just as fundamental to the series as Jack & Kim...it's just a different First Family than the Palmer's. We got plenty of issues with Sherry and the kids back in the day. I'm willing to see where the Taylor's story goes.
As for the writers having "no balls", I think they showed a ton of sack over the season with the "Butcher of Sangala" Dubaku and the tragic death of Marika, Samantha Roth's chest full of blade, Rack Bauer being buried alive, the remarkable Jonas Hodges and his laid back approach to genocide, the shocking sacrifice by Buchanan, and Tony's smothering of everybody's favourite by-the-book-FBI-asshole...Larry "The Rules Make Us Better" Moss.
Using your analogy of a "jackoff session with no cum shot", I had already shot my load a dozen times this season and didn't have any more juice to give! HAHA! And if you believe '24' to be "impotent", that means you didn't get hard in the first place and maybe '24' just doesn't turn you on anymore. It's okay, people change. But '24' stays the same...kicking ass and swinging a giant Jack-sack along the way! -
I just don't really care about this show anymore, Jack and every other storyline or character has become so predictable. Like an old dog, it's way past it's prime and needs to be taken out to the woods. I hope next season will be it's last and they come up with something near as good as the first few seasons.
-
I bet Martin won't mind his new predicament.
-
Olivia ends up in a halfway house next door to Charles Logan and the two of them plot revenge!
I was going to give Under Your Spell to the President and Ethan, but now I'm thinking Logan and Olivia. Although Logan might be better as Spike to Olivia's Buffy. What does everybody think? -
"Goin' through the motion" comes painfully in mind. Sung by Dear Jack when attached to Tony's bomb!
-
"Hey, I'm not wearin' underwear!"
-
please her "mother"!
-
I don't understand. Did you guys not pay attention the last 30 minutes. She wanted to know what to do and Jack told her not to do what he does because once you start....you can't stop. She saw an opportunity and decided to interrogate Wilson (or not interrogate him.....it was ambiguous).
She wasn't becoming a bad guy or showing that she was working with Wilson. She just made the final step to being like Jack Bauer and doing what you need to do to get the info you need. I can't believe people think she was working with Wilson. -
Dogmatic - great points about the links from each of the seasons. There is so much to a season of '24', but breaking it down like that does draw some nice comparisons.
YackBacker - I agree, everything with Tony was spot-on in terms of development. After the finale, I went back and watched some classic Day 3 moments with Tony & Michelle. I thought Carlos nailed the anger, hatred and sadness in those final moments brilliantly. There's a lot of history behind his motivations, and in many ways Day 7 was more about Tony than Jack. But your analysis of today's Jack Bauer compared to the man Heller was so cruel to was perfect...great points!
BlackJackBauer - you're fuckin' awesome! thanks for your posts this season, cheers to '24' fans like you! "homie got sliced across the throat" HAHA! that's why we watch, seeing Jack bite the neck outta some terrorist to escape or slicing up doctors who would probably let him go if Jack just looked at 'em with the scalpel and sneered...but no, they needed killin'! Don't leave sharp objects around Bauer when you just gave him a spinal tap! -

...for overcoming the mess that was the sixth season and giving us something as good as season one and four (my faves).
I really liked how the Tony's revenge motives created a morality play between him and Jack. 24 usually has such black and white morality but they really went to the grey zone this time. Evil never feels real to me, unless you show the evildoers capacity for good. In fact, I think good and evil are antiquated concepts.
This show loves to deify Jack Bauer way too much. But last night they left him hanging there, really wondering who'd done the right thing. Ultimately, Tony was responsible for catching the bad guy of the show yet did horrible things himself. I like how they really left it to the viewer to decide who was right and wrong. I'm really glad they didn't kill him. I can't wait to see how they use him next season.
And if anyone wants to go back in time and look at old 24 posts, they'll notice that I've been saying that Tony's death was a sham ever since they killed him in season 5. I wonder of Carlos Bernard gets a kick out of the fact that the sucky season was the one where he didn't appear. -

...It's like Colonel Tigh said in the finale of Galactica, "If she'd done that to my Ellen, I'd have done the same frakkin' thing."
Anyone who doesn't understand Tony has obviously never really understood what its like to desire vengeance... -

...Wilson hired Philip to tell Graem to talk to Logan about asking Henderson to discuss things with Walt Cummings about finding a guy to kill David Palmer, along with three other people...one of whom is the wife of the guy he later helped fake his own death so he could hire him in the future and then meet face to face with him to discuss salary expectations in his career as a professional...conspirator? Zuh?
-
...WHO'S PULLING WILSON'S STRINGS?!?
-
was the best thing on TV.
-
Cara was dead, so they had access to her phone. She was a known operative (was witnessed by several picking up Tony and Jack, plus going to see Hodges). Her phone was used to call Wilson. While they could not tie him directly to the conspiracy as a result, the phone contact plus his presence there would get them enough leverage for warrants ... and no matter how much he might think there'd be no evidence, there's always evidence to be found. Especially if communication was done on genuine Cisco networking equipment.
So Remaque may have been premature with her Bauerizing.
Jack definitely will open the season with Going Through the Motions; I mean, that's the whole point of Once More ... With Torture -- Jack coming to terms with being alive. -
Yes, the on-going conspiracy seems far fetched...but none of that is more ridiculous than the idea of Henderson purposely missing a vital artery when he stabbed Almeida with the syringe, only to have Emerson revive Tony and turn his hatred against Jack & CTU. That is, if Tony was telling Jack the truth in that scene. Maybe that was so far fetched because Tony was covering his real motivations this season?
Either way, as much of a stretch this conspiracy seems to be, the writers do try to connect the dots. Jack originally took down Henderson for selling secrets to defence contractors, which must have included Papa Bauer, Jonas and this Wilson guy.
I've always wanted to know more about the evil guys on the boat in Day 3 that I think Saunders reported to...that was always a sticking point for me that was never resolved. Now it seems like that door wasn't closed for good reason, and I'd love to see Logan back next season to help Jack find those old guys from the boat and Wilson's other associates from the secret chat room! -
That's the plot "twist" since season 5! In season 8 we actually learn about the guy who hired Wilson! Hopefully that next guy has Max and Mandy in his chain of command...
-
You mean other than Lost, right? I know what a big fan you are.
-
It must be BUNNIES!
-
this season. But it was not in a restaurant - just in a lobby. Would have been great to hear him say: "They got the mustard out!"
-
i would like to see that
-
Chloe: "It could be Muslims, some evil Muslims (glare from Jack) ... which is ridiculous because Muslims have been persecuted, Quran good, praise Allah and I'll be over there"
-
I'm with you on Tony's epic return this season! I loved how he truly believes he was the hero, telling Jack so in the finale. "You see, I'm the one who saved lives today, Jack, not you. I'm the one who helped you recover the CIP device. I'm the one who warned you about the White House attacks! I'm the one who stopped Jonas Hodges from launching those missiles!"
Great points about the grey area of morality this season. I loved the dialogue between Jack and Sen. Mayer too, setting up some of those scenes with Jack & Rack, and Jack and Tony debating what's right and wrong. -
Season 8 - The Beginning: Jack to Kim (probably with offspring): "I died So many weeks ago But you can make me feel Like it isn't so"
-
Boring. Jack and Rack should have let Tony shoot Wilson. The President should have tried to protect her daughter. Oh, it's fine for us to give a mass murderer a deal and let him go free, but when it comes to my blood I have to stick to my ideals. Worse 24 President ever!!! Charles Logan could run presidential circles around this clown. Jack should have die in the end. We're supposed to believe that a man with an incurable disease who has an hour to live can be miraculously saved by a complicated experimental stem cell procedure. I call BULLSHIT. I am officially done with 24. I will not be sucked in again next year, even if bot Rack Bauers play their roles completely in the nude for the entire 24 hours.
-
...those claims of Tony's being "good." That equivocating he did about saving lives was a load of crap. How many people's sons did he help kill in day 7? The man was crazy.
-

...of calling the plot twist that Tony's death in season five was a sham, as the explanation given was so amazingly plausible!
-
I may have to rethink my solid, dependable 'ignore 24' policy. My favorite part was possibly Kim inheriting her father's "Dammit!" It was a little un-actiony and the last part felt incomplete, but a lot of good stuffs happened in the meantime that I can't in good conscience ignore.

Jack: Hey I've died twice
-
has Jack swearing like a drunk sailor, and Rack getting naked several times. Oh, and a full-frontal shot of Naked Mandy. None of this side-boob shot business.
-
I must admit... I'm anxiously awaiting this.
-
I do have some limits to my time. However, I will be sure to pepper next year's talkback with snippets. It's a shame Bill Buchanan is dead because he'd be perfect for the Giles role.

"And for 8000$ this question: How do You get the right information from a suspect within 30 seconds? by a) Asking? b) Humiliating? c) Torturing? Killing?

Despite for the medical implausibilties throughout the season it all made for good TV. If I'm willing to buy that the first gentleman would be out of the hospital (and fully conscious no less) I guess I'm willing to buy the stem cell miracle cure. I just hope Jack has a permanent malady as result so our intelligence isn't completely insulted.
-
Kind of felt sorry for Tony when he crawled to the gun on his bullet wounds. All that murder and he doesn't even get to taste his revenge.
-
Why the fuck do you have to monologue, you ass?
-
Bad episode. And making Jack (who blew away his wife's killer without a second thought) stop Tony from doing the same... bleah.
-
I have never watched this show. I'm curious as to TB reaction of what I read on a conservative blog:"The real terrorists aren't foreign haters of America but U.S. defense contractors, stem cells offer the hope of miracle cures for biological-weapon attacks, and when Jack Bauer seeks deathbed counsel he calls a Muslim imam."Go ahead and hate on me personally. Don't care. This is a liberal forum and I respect that. Again, just wondering what the AICN response would be.
-
Not sure what you're asking- but I'll give you my read on those bullet points: The real terrorists = U.S. defense firms: this has been a continuing thread of "24" from very early on. The idea that corruption from within exists is a much more compelling storyline than simply blaming terror on foreigners. And "24" mixes it up, even this season with an African dictator being a key player. As for stem cell treatment, I don't see any real political message being promoted by the show on that issue. And finally, the Muslim imam was actually a poetic juxtaposition. Having Jack Bauer, representative of U.S. counterterrorism in the eyes of people around the world (as a pop culture icon) taking confession with an Imam was a nice touch. There is a political point being made there, no doubt. At the start of this season, Bauer was being questioned before Congress about his use of torture on Muslims to fight specific attacks. The scene at the end of the finale was Jack making amends for whatever wrongs he feels he committed. But again, Jack would have probably done the same thing all over again, so I don't think it was a remediation on racial profiling, etc. It was simply one man at death's door seking redemption.
-
Chrth: you're killing me dude! "And what's with all the moles, why do they wanna get into CTU anywaaay"Did Freckles smile all season. I've been hoping we'd see her finally smile in the finale, but it never happened! :(
-
Janis told her Jack cleared scurity and was back at FBI HQ after being "exposed." She looked like a doe-eyed high-school girl running to see the QB.
-
Am I the only one who thinks Jack was a bit of a hypocrite?
He tells Tony that he's only doing this for revenge, but he can't kill Wilson because he's part of the larger conspiracy. Isn't that exactly what Jack did? Jack killed Nina purely for revenge, even though she was also part of a bigger conspiracy. Who knows? She was most likely working for the same people Wilson is, since it's becoming clear that this organization is pretty much behind everything that's happened over the past seven seasons. -
You both make good points about Jack being hypocritical, not letting Tony seek revenge. But that is perhaps the point, and through Jack's time in Africa and back in Washington, he's a changed man. He not only killed Nina in cold blood, but Henderson as well. He REALLY wanted to kill Logan when he while he was President, but even Jack knew better in the end.
I do feel for Tony, but his theory that Wilson was to blame may have just been a one-man mission to kill anyone he thought had a part in Michelle's death. When Tony made those accusations, I wondered why we were going down that route again when we've had multiple villains blamed for the deaths of Palmer & company. From Henderson, Logan, Graem and Philip Bauer...now Wilson.
All I know is that Henderson's warning to Jack in Day 5 is even more significant. "You don't want to know what I know. You get me to talk, I promise you you'll just be opening Pandora's box." -
I just fact-checked my own post from earlier about those dudes on a boat who I thought would make interesting villains to return to...they were actually from Day 2, not 3 like I thought. And Wayne Palmer had a line of dialogue in Day 3 which explained the fate of those men and the attempt on Palmer's life at the end of Day 2.
So it seems only Eugene Robert Glazer's character of Alexander Trepkos is alive and in custody for the attempt on David Palmer's life. I would love for '24' to bring Glazer back...a great actor who is another Nikita alumni on the long list of Surnow & Cochran's actors brought into the '24' universe. I met Carlo Rota (Morris) after his first season on '24' and he was great in person too! I also had the privilege of working closely with Don Francks (Walter on Nikita) for months, so I'm always eager to see familiar faces on '24', and the other great Canadians they have cast over the years. -
It seems that in order for this narrative to work, they will have to have a special 24 movie event kind of thing like this year to cap off the less that final finale. Otherwise, next season will be the 25th hour and we will get to see thrilling shots of Jack recuperating while everything else happens. I don't think we want an entire season of Jack lying in a bed. Unless, of course they bring back blinded Ricky Schroder agent or something.
-
Hey chrth, id like to hear more of your once more with torture personally, ill even add in a few im thinking of, its bloody brilliant if you ask me
-
every season they don't do a prequel it becomes less possible. they need to kill this show now more than ever. go away and come back as a movie like x-files. this show has no idea what it's trying to achieve anymore.
-
You're forgetting about the underwater backdoor to the White House, the APB that led to the immediate arrest of Jack and Freckles, the immediate victim protection of Jonas and the immediate investigation into Jonas' death to name just a few more. Also, this may have not been the worst season ever (that honor goes to last year), but it definitely was the worst finale.
-
I was totally with Tony on killing Wilson. The only thing I was against him about was betraying his friend. Jack should know that Wilson wouldn't talk. Also, he should have put Tony out of his misery instead of shooting him in the hand and arresting him.
-
Until Kim stuck that knife into her leg and she got shot! I'm surprised nobody noticed that!
-
Jack spends next season in a wheelchair, calling the shots to Rack Bauer. However, he'll at least have a power hour in which Rack brings him a terrorist for him to toy around with.
-
Conservatives are pretty stupid if they think somehow Jack being saved by stem cells is some kind of liberal propaganda. Jack is being treated with adult stem cells taken from his daughter. The stem cell research that many conservatives deplore is fetal stem cell research. Last time I checked Kim Bauer is not an unborn fetus, so give the fucking liberal conspiracies a rest already.
If you want to be angry about the stem cell plotline, then be angry because it was fucking retarded. But don't assign a political agenda to something that's just a lame plot point used to re-introduce Kim Bauer and provide Jack with yet another lifesaving miracle.
