Cool News
UPDATE! Hannibal Lecter returns? And brings Ridley Scott as his dinner... guest?
So, it has been brought to my attention (in a dickish way) that this rumor seems to be a recycled one from back in 2000. Check this out:
"And actress Cate Blanchett has been tipped to take over the role of Clarice Starling after Jodie Foster pulled out to direct Claire Danes in the forthcoming Flora Plum.
A spokesperson for film-makers Universal says, "Hopkins and Scott are both very committed. We like what we've got, and the revised script is really, really good.""
That's from ContactMusic and this is from Hollywood.com... from January of 2000:
"Universal has confirmed its intentions to stick by the "Silence of the Lambs" sequel, laying to rest reports on Entertainment Weekly Online last week that the studio was considering canning the project after Jodie Foster bailed out to instead direct Claire Danes in "Flora Plum."
"As far as we know, [this project] is alive," a Universal spokeswoman says. "[Star Anthony] Hopkins and [director Ridley] Scott are both very committed. We like what we've got, and the revised script is really, really good.""
That Flora Plum bit is probably what confused ContactMusic as that flick got put on hold and Jodie Foster is still attached to direct to this day.
Hollywood.com's story also mentions Blanchett as the frontrunner. So, since I still haven't heard back from Universal (it is after hours) we'll just assume this is a buzzkill article. I think it's pretty obvious this ain't gonna happen.
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. I hesitate in posting this because there doesn't seem to be a solid source, yet everybody online is talking about it... which smacks of a rumor out of control. In fact, the best I can do to find a solid statement is from Universal in the original story at ContactMusic.
The talk is that Anthony Hopkins is returning to the screen as Hannibal Lecter in the near future, with HANNIBAL's Ridley Scott in tow. The scuttlebutt also has Cate Blanchett coming in to hold Clarice Starling's badge.
Like I said, this sounds all kinds of unreliable... they'd be doing this without a Thomas Harris novel to follow, a first for this series. And I love Hopkins, but I don't know if we need to see him return to that character.
The Contact News story has what appears to be a quote from Universal confirming the story, but again there aren't any specifics. I have my own inquiries into the studio at the moment. If I get something back fast I'll update this story with the confirmation or denial. Up until then, consider this a giant, honking rumor.

Why go for yet another Starling?
-
Really AICN?!?! Really?!
-
not happening.
-
Really hope this stays at the 'rumor' stage, and that this is some fanboy's wet dream. The books are masterpieces, but the films have successively watered down the character.
-
Should have stopped with Silence of the Lambs. 1 great movie does not a franchise make!
-
Do they really think recasting Clarice a second time makes it any less moronic?
-
Hannibal Rising was shite. I wouldn't mind revisiting the character with the right director and script.
-
would've been way better than uberpale julianne moore.
-
...will be pursuing this nonsense with every ounce of his rapidly decaying being.
-
whatever? the hannibal movie copped out on the ending so badly, it really pissed me off. I would like to see a sequel from the book's ending with hannibal and clarice in south america raining destruction on some scumbags. that would be fun. sorry for the ee cummings but i'm typing with one hand in protest.

they deviated from the novels at the end, to leave it open
by badmrwonka
SPOILERS FOR THE BOOK AND THE MOVIE!!!
In the end of the novel, Hannibal, Starling, in a sort of continuous drug and hypnotized haze, enters into a continuing love affair with Lecter, and they elope to Argentina.but that didn't leave open the possibility of a sequel (Harris' intent was to end the book series there without question) so they concocted this idiotic hand slicing scene. (why the fuck didn't he just lop off a finger or two, and slip out? Or why not at least TRY hacking at the CHAIN of the handcuffs?)now they're going forward WITHOUT a novel as a base, without Foster, (again), and with no conceivable way to bring the characters together again without copying 50% of the plot to Hannibal.brilliant idea...just brilliant. -
His last performance of Lecter seemed to border dangerously on self-parody, and outside of the Harris-verse, he hasn't made anything of note in years.
-
he did write Hannibal Rising later.
-
The movies have all been better than the coinciding books, (excluding rising as I didn't read or watch that piece of shit) and that is just embarrassing.
-
It's probably just a movie starring Anthony Hopkins directed by Ridley Scott. I seriously doubt this has anything to do with Hannibal Lector.
-
That woman knows how to manage a career. Sure, she hasn't had a great role in a while but she jumped ship on this franchise when she knew it was going under and she has had quite a few hits under her belt since Silence of the Lambs. Now all she needs is a decent character to play.
-
Ridley Scott tried with Hannibal, but that was a terribly written piece of crap. Hell, Dan Brown has written better books, and he's an embarrassment to the English language.
-
Actually the movie doesn't say whether or not he cuts off his hand. This is left up to personal interpretation.
-
massive hits. Don't kid yourself, Foster has little taste in the movies she picks lately.
-
It just didn't feel right to me after finishing the book. I'm not saying the movie ending was that much better, but it made more sense.
Probably should let this series stop. -
Who really likes her? Well besides Brad Pitt.
-
As long as he doesn't pull a Pachino and start starring in Jon Avnet film that he poops out.
-
I don't think Contact Music is the original source of this story. It's from the WENN wire service so hundreds of sites are aggregating the same story at the same time. I guess C.M. lucked out that half the web is now crediting them for a cut/paste.
-
Them living together, constantly unsure of what the other is truly feeling. It's a whole LOT better than ending on a fucking "You are what you eat" joke on a plane!
-
Foster has been in some terrible films, but since Hannibal she has chosen more hits than misses. For an actress her age, she does a fine job of carrying a film. Panic Room, Flightplan and Inside Man all made a healthy profit, and even The Brave One made almost $70 million worldwide. She made the right choice to leave this franchise, and she has made some smart financial choices, but I don't believe she has made some good creative choices. My previous post is purely from a financial perspective, and since Hannibal I think her box office numbers have shown that she can still draw an audience.
-
I've been screaming this for many years. I watched Hannibel and Alien back to back. Thoughs movies have the same beats and feel, that are almost identical in feel. I think even the JUMP scenes happen around the same minute in both films. Someone go watch them back to back and tell me. I don't own Hannibel terrible movie.
-
...And sadly, fuck Ridley Scott if he gets on that train again.
They could've made something really special if they'd stayed true to the HANNIBAL novel, including the no-compromise ending and the flashbacks...instead, that money-grubbing fool De Laurentiis decided to milk the series, and Scott went along with it.
Might as well release it straight to DVD...it's totally played out and stale by now. -
The one that IMDB ran? The one that said Spielberg has been meeting with Drew Barrymore to work out a plan to have E.T. return to Earth? Ridiculous notion and rumor, perhaps yes. But I certainly expected you guys to post it. I'd like some more info. Please.

HANNIBAL LECTER HAS DINNER AND THE DINNER AT THE TEMPLE OF SKULL
by gorgomel
-
Oh, I agree she still has some star power. But her creative choices really have been erratic lately at best. If she found a true prestige vehicle she could come back in a big way. And I agree she was wise to abandon the Lecter-ology, the only widely recognized success was the first, and after Rising, the whole sad affair has become more than just a tad ridiculous.
-
just singin'

Bastard had three good books and sold out on the rest. Best thing for the series is continue without him.

-
Ridley Scott is the very definition of a promising career that has gone to shit. The best he can do at this point is a decent action film. He will never reach the heights of his early career.
-
I'd fuck me hard...
-
Nobody wanted the first 1 or 2 or 3 sequels to the movie. It was a one-off if there ever was one. I don't care if there were multiple books.
-
Just remove it.
-
Oscar winners that actually deserved to win the Oscar. Too bad they had to ruin it with the terrible sequels.
-
Just wait...they'll probably use that Benjamin Button CGI so Hopkins can play Hannibal as an infant.
-
I mean, the news stories come so infrequently that you could at least research the ones you post. For fuck's sake. I'm sorry to be a cunt, but this site is really going down the shitter.

LOOK AT THE BLOOD! *slings jizz in your face*
-
this is definitely not happening. the sames sound allll wrong
-
When he didn't include Will Graham in the story.
So let me get this straight: you have this incredible character whose is described by Starling as "the keenest hound ever to run in Crawford’s pack, was a legend at the (FBI) Academy; he was also a drunk in Florida now with a face that’s hard to look at..." and you DON'T BRING HIM BACK? This was the guy who originally caught Lector!
Fuck, they should throw out Hannibal and remake it about Starling being forced to recruit a drunk Graham to help her catch Lector. -
of gender and class. I would imagine that any further sequels would also ignore these aspects.
-
I just HATE how Hollywood tries so hard to pretend certain movie characters are still relevant. It's like we're all supposed to go "ALRIGHT! HANNIBAL IS BACK! You know this will be AWESOME!!" Give me a fucking break!Nobody gives a shit about this "Hannibal" dude. NOBODY!!And why is this a "story"??
-
Never. And i'm 44. My wife and friends think this is strange. Should I watch it? And if they do make a sequel then I sure as hell hope they don't have Drew Barrymore in it! She is so fucking ugly and the bitch can't act either. She must suck a lot of dick or something.
-
It'll make you puke.
-
...was she a great big fat person?
-
DOESN'T THAT MAKE ANY FUCKING SENSE?
-
Watch I'm Not There. She is frighteningly good. Otherwise I'm hard pressed to find a female film actor as good as her. Perhaps Kate Winslet.

Quint calls me "dickish" for pointing out his poor reporting? I'd be upset if my email wasn't admittedly dickish. Here's what I said:
"Subj: Hannibal story was legit... 9 years ago.
Somehow a news report from the early stages of "Hannibal" preproduction has been picked up as a new story.
Check out this article from January 12, 2000:
http://www.hollywood.com/news/EXTRA_Hannibal_to_Feast_Again_Studio_Says/311840
Look familiar? Cate Blanchett, Ridley Scott, etc. It's all from this report. Even the quote about Scott and Hopkins being "very committed" about the "revised script" is in there.
So yeah, if you're going to post this as news you should probably start publishing "news" about "Attack of the Clones" and "The Matrix Reloaded" while you're at it."
So yeah, if you're gonna post crap like this you probably deserve dickish emails. -

The only way I would want to see Hopkins play Lector again
by continentalop
Is if he was in the new Batman movies.
Hannibal Lector is imprisoned in Arkham Asylum but he is giving secret messages and instructions to an insane killer named the Scorpio Killer.
Meanwhile, the mysterious crime lord Keyser Söze has decided that Batman has got to go, so he has hired hitman Anton Chigurh to eliminate him.
Make it happen Nolan! -
That is all.
-
...who gives a fuck.
-
Too coked up to notice anything? First that Cliffhanger rumor had me laughing and now this. Like as if there were movie fans just waiting for this news. I tried to erase Hannibal from my mind it was so horrible. I mean just horrible. I'm down with what the one poster wrote. Have starling finding a hun over Graham to hunt down Lector and beat him to death... since the character itself has been beaten to death already.
-
They should make a Ring Raiders or Dino Riders movie. Those would be really awesome.

Hannibal is one of the worst flicks I've ever seen
by i_am_not_the_droid_you_are_looking_for
Ridley Scott has one of the best (alien) and two of the worst ever (GI Jane and Hannibal).
-
would involve Clarice tracking down Will Graham... and Hannibal assisting with the profile.
-
a few years back with Drew's involvment. Why her over Elliot? E.T. was Elliot's friend, Gurdy had a few moments with him but real the story was about E.T. and Elliot. If i remember right the plot had something to do with Greenpeace or some shit like that. Like E.T's homeworld was dying and thats why he was there the first time to get plants and crap to fix it... The film doesn't need a thoughtless sequel. E.T. would be cgi now, and the CGI double in the re-re-release looked awful, granted they make CGI characters differently now then they did then. With programs like Zbrush and Mudbox around, but still... I don't like the idea very much of a E.T. 2.
-
Trash all the others sequels as if they never really happened. Brody is dead, his wife is dead, Quint is dead, the only one still alive is Mr. Hooper. He's a modern day Jacques Cousteau/Crocodile Hunter. He has a reality TV show where he saves and studies ocean life- including sharks. Have the film open with a cold cut opening where an amity whale watching ship is attacked by a megalodon shark. killing all onboard except for a small child who manges to find something to hang onto. He is carried by the currents back to shore. Wheres the shark come from. The climates changing the currents reaching the antarctic are warmer. Maybe there was a frozen embryo Meg that was thawed by these currents and eventually following the warmer currents while eating brough it to Amity. So niow Amity has a new shark problem on their hands. A really big one and Brody's son Michael- well Michael's little son reaches out to Mr. Hooper after watching him on TV. Something like that.
-
I'm not saying Hannibal is a "good" flick by any means, but you've clearly not seen enough movies.
-
I've always wanted to see Starling's best friend and fellow agent Ardelia Mapp take up the hunt to rescue Starling and either capture or kill Lector after he made off with her in the BOOK(just fucking ignore the ending of the Hannibal movie) Hannibal. I like the concept a lot, as it was Hannibal's getting his sister back from the universe by taking Starling that ended his killing. OR, Ardelia gets killed and Starling and Hannibal come out of hiding to get her killer, with the drama being will Starling break Hannibal's brainwashing and bring him down as well? I think this project will be to put the series to bed, so it has to end with either Hannibal dead or back in jail or he manages to elude capture AND keep Starling and they liver happily ever after.
-
You're right. Foster is smart.
-
Not really by definition, but the only somewhat justifiable news of this sort, is that it was Jodie Foster returning to the role. That was what 100% was missing, as much as we love Julianne, from Hannibal.
-
Guts in or guts out? I'll decide for you shall I?"

Whatever its title was - that piece of shit in which he gets everything, including the mask, at the age of 15 or so - didn't it flop miserably? And they still want to rape this sad corpse?

Series. I did hear a rumour that scott had a different ending to the one that was in the movie and there was going to be a 4 hr tv movie show split over two nights. Scott filmed the books original ending. But I think that was vetoed by Dino De Laruentis and his daughter. nothing matters more to Dino De Laurentis then money. So scott was ordered to shoot the ending that we saw. which hinted at a fifth film. The first hour of hannibal I thought was a very good film. but from the moment of pozzis demise. It got bad really quickly from then I quckily disliked Julianne Moore. Foster seems to be slumming it recently. Nims island looked Cheap and tacky. not sure about this film she is doing with Jim Carrey. which she is directing and co-starring. Flightplan was so stupid a movie you wondered why she did it. flightplan had a good concept but a lousy delievery.
-
the book got massacred by all the reviwers and was one of the most reviled books of the year when it was released. My older brother has read everything by thomas Harris and thought Hannibal the novel had the bones of a good story but for whatever reason Harris screwed it up.
-
hannibal was the better movie between "silence" and "hannibal"
-
And if ever Scott decided to make another Hannibal Lecter movie,i would drag him out of the set and put him doing "The Forever War". That's the movie he has to make. After his Robin Hood, nothing else matters.

We are in for some truly lame shit when Mel Gibsons divorce comes through!Like it or not we will get Lethal Weapon and Mad Max sequels to replenish his bank balance.Expect Braveheart-the next generation as well.Just as long as theres no sequels to What women want,Signs or The Patriot.Say,why doesnt Ridley Scott reunite Mel with Anthony Hopkins for a reboot/prequel to The Bounty?!!!Wouldnt be any more preposterous than yet another Hannibal movie
-
Anything other than sequel that re-teams Anthony Hopkins with Jodie Foster as Clarice will be a waste of time; A fart in the wind IMHO.
Jodie Foster owns that role and if she won't do another movie, just forget about it. -
Not sure if you really want to subsidize that with your money.
-

-
If Thomas Harris has anything interesting left to write with Hannibal, I don't know what it could be. The novel Hannibal was a mess. Going without a Harris idea might be the best move. But like the other novels, they need a great second villain played by a great second lead. And it wouldn't hurt to introduce another main protagonist to work alongside Starling. (Like Starling replaced Will Graham in a sense).
-
...I'm guesing in this chronology, it's Ed Norton as Graham but nevertheless, to see Starling and Graham team up to take down Lecter could be an awesome premise especially if they managed to nab Blanchett.
-
Hopkins is too damn old. Surely there's plenty of other talent out there that can do Lecter. Same goes for Scott. And I have no more respect for Harris after he wrote that Hannibal Rising shit. They need some fresh young talent.
-
I swear, if not for rumors about more Lector/Starling movies, I would have thought Flora Plum was long since dropped. I don't even know what it's about! I'm picturing Foster with flowers in her hair eating plums real slowly!

-
Only Hannibal Rising was, but I found both to be VERY compelling nonetheless.

I saw this rumor elsewhere and I thought it was bizarre that Jodie Foster would bow out of two different sequels of the Silence of the Lamb to direct the same actress in the same movie. I figured it was bullshit from the start.

The William Peterson movie that really launched Lector and was sadly and mistakenly remade.

Do you really expect originality from them?

The series I mean. Hannibal was the last nail in a coffin that was way past six feet under already. Hopkins is past his prime to be doing the Hannibal shtick. Blanchett has better things to do one would hope. And no one cares anymore, except money counters.Re-make or re-boot it in another ten years staring future Oscar winner Dakota Fanning or something, but just let it go for now.

Silence of the Lambs and Red Dragon.
I particularly admire Red Dragon because it shows you can still do a great story without having to resort to rehashing the cannibal crap.
-
thought Red dragon was actually pretty good and way better than the avearge hannibal..still cant believe they actually filmed taht fuckin scene with liottas brain hanging out at the dinner table..propestorous !
A new film is a terrible idea though. I think the character has lost a lot of the magic now and i still think the best dialogue lecter had was in lambs. Hope they dont make this..a sequel no-one wants. -
This thing is being milked to death, enough already.
-
fuck manhunter..brian cox is no match for hopkins
-
I love Manhunter, but as fas as faithfulness to the Red Dragon novel goes, my vote is for Red Dragon the film.
-
... but even I dislike Hannibal. Silence should have stayed the only Hopkins/Lecter movie out there. The more they tried to explain Hannibal Lecter the less interesting he became. He lost that eerie sense of mystery and pure horror that he had in Silence of the Lambs.
-
The movie definitely DID NOT leave the hand thing to interpretation. It was very, very clear that he cut off his hand to get away, hence him covering up his stub while on the plane at the end.
-
Right off the bat, I'll just say RED DRAGON isn't a pimple on MANHUNTER's ass. Not only did Mann make a far, far superior movie, but it more or less ensured that William Peterson would have a post-MANHUNTER career when he came back to trod some of the same ground in C.S.I.
HANNIBAL could have actually been a great movie, if they hadn't lost their balls and actually kept all the plot elements from the novel, like the Margot character, placing the movie's ending in the middle (with Hannibal still in possession of both hands), where it was in the book and, of course, the book's actual ending, where Starling and Lector went off together to Europe to continue killing. The movie didn't satisfy fans of SILENCE, because Foster didn't return and what they kept from the novel was basically a warmed-over rehash of SILENCE, and it didn't satisfy fans of the novel, because it made so many compromises.
And did anybody actually watch HANNIBAL RISING? -

I had the pleasure of enjoying a pint with him about two years after Manhunter was released (at the Royal Exchange Theatre bar in Manchester, UK). Very humble and willing to pass on his knowledge to anyone interested in the finer points of acting. 'Manhunter' remains my favourite of the Lektor movies by a long way. I remember the palpable disappointment upon leaving the cinema after seeing TSOTL. I felt like I'd just watched a B-movie in comparison to Mann's edge-of-the-seat-of-your-pants class act.
-
It's like a long episode of Miami Vice without Crocket and Tubbs.
-
Hannibal being my least favorite. And if you have to recast Clarice, why not get Gillian Anderson? From what I've read she was in the running for Clarice in SOTL, but the X-Files schedule prevented it.
-
Great idea, fanboy 71. But there's no way she was unable to be Clarice in SOTL as the movie came out in '91 and X-files didn't even premiere until 1994.

Cate Blanchett? Euuuw. Was Roseanne Barr unavailable?
Now, Jennifer Love Hewitt or Jessica Biel as Clarice Starling -- *that* I would pay to see. -
I wish I hadn't. Both of those ideas are horrible.
-
way better than jodi lespo foster!
-
Why can't it be clarice's daughter or something? That would add an extra creepy element to the whole thing.
Thta said, I don't think there'll be another movie until some jerkoff reboots the series and reimagines lecter as a woman in a powersuit -
Is a poor mans Tilda Swinton.
-
I"m on a trip in a hotel and flipped over to showtime and imagine my surprise that Manhunter was on. It was a really awesome quality broadcast. I hadn't seen it in about 10 years. It holds up pretty well. It has a few hollywood cliches that drive me crazy like "insane driving police cars" but that was a requirement in the 80's along with black guy/white guy cop partners so its forviable. There were many instances where I think if they could have reshot the scene they would have. You could see a great deal of creative editing that was only necessary because film is expensive.
All in all I thought it was good. -
How do you compare Manhunt to Bret Ratners Red Dragon? Did you know Cox was offered Silence but didn't want to get type casted.
-
I think I'd like to watch them back to back to see. I believe the DP was the same person for both movies and you can see some interesting parallels in the two. Cox was/is very very good as Lecter (Lektor I believe it is in manhunter ), but it's hard to compare the two because Hopkins was just so great in Silence that he practically steals away the role.
I can say I liked Ralph Finnes better as Dollarhyde... I thought it was much creepier for him to be able to masquerade as semi normal at times.
As for the rest of the series...
Hannibal was such a disappointment and Hannibal rising was just a sad joke.
What are your thoughts? -
See Julianne Moore for reference...
-
But as far as Red Dragon and Manhunter I have to say point to Manhunter. While I've read Red Dragon (none of the other books though) I think Red Dragon the movie tried to hard to stay close to the book. While Manhunter had its own path, mainly speaking about the capturing of Lecture. While Red Dragon showed it Manhunter just had CSI talk about it to his son in a Piggly Wiggly. Plus I think the acting in Manhunter was just better, Petterson has talked about how after Manhunter he had to take a break because how getting into that role stuck with him so much. Also Dragon tried to hard to make Lecture a more important part of the movie (because of Silence) while Manhunter kept him as a secondary character. I need to go back and watch both again as well, I own Manhunter but not Dragon. Also I think Cox was playing Lecture more along a real life serial killer not Hannibal Lecture the character. Cox performance is more like watching Jeffrey Dahmer or Ted Bundy where as Hopkins made him an over the top character. I do agree though that Finnes character does come off creepier because unlike Noonan he doesn't already look like a serial killer.

In my favorite sequence from Silence, Hannibal -- using just the clip from a pen -- unlocks his handcuffs QUICKLY, with his hands behind his back, and wreaks unholy havoc.
Toward the end of Hannibal, Lecter finds himself handcuffed -- in a nicely equipped kitchen, with more time to spare. Plenty more to work with than a little piece of metal. So what's he do? Cuts his hand off.
And I'm guessing that stopping the bleeding would take more time than picking the lock would have.
And that is when I stopped believing in Hannibal Lecter.
Maybe they'll bring him back with a wicked-assed robot arm.
-
William Peterson as a serial killer (Will Graham)... cool night vision goggles... then have Anthony Hopkins and whoever track him down.
-
Cate could pull it off. Even though Button drove me to drink.
-
Top five reasons Harris fumbled Hannibal:1.Tried to `take back` his caracters.2.Very homophobic (main reason Foster passed?)3.The time perspective 10 years .4.Threw realism out the window .5.supression of disbelief failed.

I just wanted to say that

just like everything else in Hollywood...lets go back to well and pull out some more shit..when is it going to stop?

At least thats what they shouldve called that bullshit prison that Hannibal was held captive in the first movie.
It was hard to take that movie serious after seeing him behind the glass---Yet his next door neighbor was able to slime Clarice with his love juice.
That prison was straight out of the comic books. When Hopkins was saying his lines--I was expecting Bale-Man to pop up behind him--
-I'm sorry Keaton-Man--- -
instead of 'old folks home for cannibals'.
-
Show a baby in a crib chewing on a juicy piece of rib for two hours. Use a computerized smile on him. At the end have his first word be Clarice. The saga begins.
-
I don't care who might play the leads, a new Hannibal Lechter film is a BAD idea. Let the series die, for God's sake.
The first film was classic, one of the best, most quotable serial killer films of all time. "It puts the lotion in the basket." "Put the fucking lotion in the basket!"
Unfortunately, the other two or three or four movies (I lost count) have been absolute tripe, including Ridley Scott's "Hannibal." The facial ticks and sucking noises Anthony Hopkins made to ultra-creepy effect in "Silence of the Lambs" became the property of that film (or the studio), and therefore couldn't be used in the following films. Notice how Lechter is completely neutered, thus not scary in other films? Along with Julianne Moore not channeling Clarice Stark in any kind of compelling way, it's a huge reason the stories after "Silence of the Lambs" have been dud films.
Let the series die. Quietly, peacefully, without the Chianti. -
the only thing they can do with this franchise now is turn it into a canibal rom-com. And yes, that means Mathew McConathy has to play Hanibal.
-
I ate his applesauce with some jelly beans and a nice juice box.
hahahah I kill me. -
Everytime he would breast feed he would bite off a nipple. Also, love your idea MurderMostFowl. That was good.
-
on Showtime.... I never realized that Chris Elliot was one of the investigators.
-
I know Hopkins isn't getting much work in high profile movies these days, but talking about 'beating a dead horse'. I don't think any of this is true, and if it is. It's sad.
-
Jesus better not be rude.

you have to watch this remix of one of its most famous lines: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JziE11E1zSY

Harris must be running out of $100 bills to light his cigars by now. Hannibal Rising was the laziest, most unapologetic cash in piece of shit that I have ever seen and have no reason to believe why a propose new film would be any different. Let it go, let it go.....
-
suffered from franchise fatigue. Mostly obvious, Hopkins was too old to play a Lecter who was meant to be relatively vital at that point. Also, Norton couldn't half match Petersen's Will Graham. Norton just seemed tired throughout, which is exactly what Graham should seem. After I saw it, I thought some recasting could have helped. Rotate Fiennes into the Lecter role, make Norton Franic Dolarhyde, and find a new actor for Graham. Maybe someone like ... hell, I don't know. William Petersen? Kidding.
-
Fucking lack of edit button. Which is exactly what Graham should not (NOT NOT NOT ... fucking lack of edit button) seem.
-
Francis Dolarhyde. Sorry, no caffeine or food so far today. *shoots self, slumps, dies*

I haven't seen the Kenneth Anger film since college, but I remember it being interesting (of course I was stoned at the time).

cannabizzle

cann
-
right
-
This is some straight up bullshit. no fucking way Ridley would touch this shit.
-
The only thing I remember is that Anger must have been ripped off his tits the whole time (like you apparently!). And that I thought the title must be a euphemism.
Now I think of it, another movie I can't really remember that I know I watched is Deep Rising. All I really recall is that Famke Jannsen was hot and that it was goofy fun and by far Stephen Sommers' best film. So maybe that one counts... -
....What's Eating Flora Plum?

Yes, that's right, garbage. Sensationalistic POS. Silence of the Lambs was a masterpiece of suspense thriller, and Hannibal is a poor man's direct to video schlock. Please, no more Hannibal Lecter movies. Ridney Scott and hack screenwriters ruined the legacy like hack novelist Thomas Harris ruined Lecter by turning him and other returning characters from Silence of the Lambs into grotesque caricatures. Future Lecter movies with Ridley Scott directing in flashy gore imitating his hack brother Tony = guaranteed trash
-
is that wrong? num num mmm really hte best part of the human body.

No Movie

"So, it has been brought to my attention (in a dickish way) that this rumor seems to be a recycled one from back in 2000"...If you don't want people posting in a "dickish" way asshole..maybe GET YOUR SHIT STRAIGHT...wow Quint..just ...wow

Your a fucking idiot. He never said it was fact or vouched for it. Specifically said that it was a rumor. He has his facts straight. Go fuck yourself nerd
