Virtual Press Conference with JJ Abrams, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto happening in the morning! You can watch live!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. You may remember a while back I took part in a virtual press conference with Zack Snyder and Dave Gibbons for WATCHMEN... which took place on the PS3. I found it to be a very odd experience, personally, especially since I'm not very comfortable with the press conference format. But I did have fun. Now the same people behind the WATCHMEN Q&A are doing one for STAR TREK.
I'm sitting this one out (holding out for our own chats with some of these guys), but since the reception on the last one went over well I figured you guys might want to check out the live stream of the press conference, watch various PlayStation avatars ask questions of JJ Abrams, Chris Pine and Zachary Quinto.
It all begins 4pm GMT... If my understanding of time zones isn't completely off-base, I think that's 8am PST, 10am CST and 11am EST... someone please correct me if I'm wrong on this. I've added the ustream embed below, but you can reach it at this site if something goes buggy tech-wise.

How about lumping ALL the trek Posts into ONE Post per day, instead of board topping one every two hours? I know ya guys are in love wit it, and I know you say nobody is on the payroll....but Jesus...this is like a marketing campaign.Plus..I am beginning to feel a bit guilty flaming Orci on everyone of them...but just a bit you understand.

At the moment those two are by far the least interesting summer movies this season. I'm pretty sure I'll skip Wolverine, I'll wait for the reviews on Star Trek and then decide if I'll go...

How does this help the JJ trek movie? This stunt didn't help WATCHMEN: from the visionary director of 300. This trek is a gimmick from the start, this film will not be the biggest movie of the summer. It will fall fast in the waste side as real blockbusters like Transformers 2 rock the box office.

sorry to bring this here,but since there is no new t4 talkback,and the first issue of the comic movie adaptation is out,i would like to make some comments:
first of all,one quick comment about STAR TREK.the 4 issues of the comic prequel for this movie are out,and from what i have read until now Orci and the other screenwriter have no fucking clue conncerning the star trek universe.not only that but they also disrespect the iconic characters and use illogical,outrageous and out of established characters/facts story situations.and Nero,i know JJ has mentioned it,but does he have to be so much KHAN lookalike? no creativity here,no originality? the same stuff recycled again and again? and the irony is tha Nero doesnt possess super intellect, which makes it ridiculous when he defeats jean-luc and worf. a fucking miner defeats these legends. what the fuck?
now on the T4 comic adaptation.its too early to criticize the movies story based solely on one comic issue,but jesus christ there are things that i dont already like:
unfortunately there is a continuity with T3.i was hoping they would have ignored this piece of shit of moive,but connor does have his wife from the previous movie who is now pregnant.
but connor isnt the leader of the resistance.no.he is a soldier who follows orders,everyone else think that he is the soon to be the leader of the resistance,although his superiors think otherwise.
why i had the feeling all these years from the first three movies,that u know,connor was someone unknown who came from nowhere and acted from the beginning as the leader and savior of the human race?
why they have turned connor so much a pussy and unconfident with his future role as the leader of the resistance? they did it in T3,they continue his pussification with T4.
how the fuck everyone knows that he is the true leader and since they know it and they have proves of it (it is mentioned in the comic),why they dont give him the position from the start? wtf? should he pass some test like they do in the college brotherhoods?
and what the fuck is with that
female kid? does she have precognotion,telepathetic,or whatever powers and knows when terminators are due to attack and she warns the rest of the soldiers who are unaware of the impending attack?
and how the fuck does Skynet knows that kyle reese is connors father?!!?!!?? his father didnt know it,his mother didnt know until he met him,connor knew but how skynet learned it? and why is he the first priority to kill and conoor is the second priority? if he is the first priority and we are talking about events before the first time travel,then why the fuck arnies terminator in the first movie was targeting sarah only and not both,kyle and her? WHAT THE FUCK?
anyway thats all,i have small expectations for both star trek and T4,i just hope they will be good entertainings. -

In EVERY interview this pain-in-the-ass goes out his way to mention how he never liked Star Trek, never got the fans, and basically explains how he turned the previous, "sucky, dorky" version in a sick, badass 2000's iteration for the 12-year-old brain-dead gangsta twits. And "Cloverfield" was the stupidest thing I've ever seen. I actually miss Berman and Braga at this point, (who, if they'd made the exact same movie, the fans would be planning on assassinating as we speak). Just fuck off, Jar Jar, fuck off...

He think's he's something special to the film world. His ego, and the arrogance of his importance is one of the reasons why he should of never had anything to do with Star Trek. He think's he bigger than the franchise.

I say again...HOW DARE YOU mock the Great and Powerful Oz...uh, I mean JJ Abrams? This man literally spent minutes of his incredibly busy and talented life remaking "Star Trek." But he wasn't just remaking it into how he felt it should be. No, he remade it to synch up neatly with the attitudes and mores of the typical nineteen year old "What the heck is Star Trek?" moviegoer. See, he has his finger on the pulse and up the ass of the average pop culture consumer and he did "Star Trek" better than anyone anywhere ever. So stop dissing the man, man. By the way, I trust you're well versed in the fine art of sarcasm.
