-
Already?!? Feels like they just started up again.
-
not for the season. Fucker.
-
south park is huge in terms of influence and pop culture. even if you hated the fish sticks(dicks) episode you probably heard at least 5 of your friends say "do you like fish sticks?" after the episode aired.
Sometimes I wonder if trey and matt come up with weird sayings and ideas just to see if people will jump on and try to be cool by reciting something south park said. after the manbearpig episode aired I couldn't believe how many people started saying "I'm super serial" instead of serious and shit like that.
i'm looking forward to tonights episode. there hasn't been a bad south park in my opinion. just ones that aren't as epic as others. -
Why is that capitalised in the press release?
-
Nice one Sir Spells Alot
-
You know it's true.
-
on the scree... wait, brb, got a great idea for this application I'm working on...
-
Speed Racer and Fast and Furious parody.
-
Hopefully the October run is better.
-
I think of Battlestar Galactica - which Trey and Matt loved, btw. Nothing would make me happier than South Park tearing the BSG finale to shreds.
-
... we've got a lot of work to do on the car, so I'm going to pull you out of school for the next couple of weeks.
-
This season has been great!
-
they give the slot car steroroids.
-
couple of years ago, at peabody awards, matt and trey said that BSG is off limits.
although, in go god go pt.1 miss/mr/whatever garrison was behaving awfully a lot like six when around dawkins. now this isn't exactly tearing or making fun of galactica, but I guess it might mean that it isn't off limits, so the emphasis on "plan" in promos might be a sign that they're gonna blast battlestar finale tonight... -
so far. i though last season was a 5 and the previous season was a 8. i really think it "jumped the shark" with last season. ummm i dont think anyone cares though. so uhhhh yea
-
might have been funny once, gotten reaaaallly old now
-
I can only watch South Park stoned. After toking the show is genius with its social commentary and pop culture attacks. Clear eyed, it's a bad running joke thats been running for 10 years.
-
I never won and everyone seemed better at building their car then we were. I'm not sure that I learned much that was useful in BS. I was led to believe it would be fun. It was more like an extra hour of gym class except with voluntary studying involved. Like kids don't have enough of that in school where it's actually important. False advertising.
-
The Troubled Rebel Princess was seen stealing the magnet... so good.
-
He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay. He's okay.
-
I think they covered that plenty with the raping of Indiana Jones last season.
-
I agree, this is already amazing!
-
I've thought they were doing a typical "Randy gets competitive" story, and then I decided they would be parodying "Angels and Demons", then I figured it'd be "Star Trek"... now we've got an alien Al Capone with a pelvis for a face. I quit. I'm not gonna try anymore.
-
I was really hoping they were going somewhere with this ridiculous plot, but the ending sucked as much as the rest of the episode. Wow...
-
Can anyone think of a worse South Park episode than this one?
-
That seems to have become a new trend with the last couple seasons, but with just one more episode left for the first half of this season, it looks like we're not getting a really good 2 or 3-part story. Tonight's episode seemed really lazy and uninspired, which doesn't bode well for next week's final episode.
-
I was really hoping they were going somewhere with that. It was just weird and bad. Hope the finale is better.
-
Wow. That was awful. What really sucks is I didn't see one thing that would have stopped this episode from being aired on Fox. Matt and Trey need to step it up.
-
This one is really funnier the second time around. Finland!
-
Nowhere near as bad as y'all made it out to be.
-
Skewered the whole "Day the Earth Stood Still" (original 1951 version) liberal-guilt-we-deserve-to-be-punished-by-superior-beings-mentality. The ending was simply brilliant/stunning/jaw-droppingly depressing all at the same time. Stomach punch ending rather than easy laugh!
-
I think it would be better if we all forgot that episode.
-
worst than the towlie/oprah episode!! only funny part was the end! everything else was god-awful!! r.i.p. south park!
-
Or Ecuadoran giant gerbil bagpipe boy band or whatever it was. That one spread suckage over two eps.
-
That episode was hilarious. This season has been really strong.
-
ManBearPig was horrible the first time it aired too, but now what do we think of it? That episode really did feel absolutely awful the first time, but it has grown extremely quotable and hilarious. heh, that all being said, I missed tonight's episode. *sheepish grin* But i'm still holding out hope
-
and how many Alien species have visted Earth nowand wasn't the "South Parkverse" already an alien reality show/sitcom (100th ep right, where Kenny takes the pictures of the ailen tv execs), shouldn't that have been reason enough for the aliens NOT to allow earth in?am I thinking way too hard about this episdoe?
-
i just think these past two seasons have been weak. theres some really solid episodes this season but this one was just god awful, along with those hamster ones. i still watch every week because i still like the show, but awful episodes like these ones still pop up every now and then, and i just comment on them you know...because i can. hopefully next weeks is good.

yea i thought it was star trek for a sec too
by supercowbell4therequestformorecowbell
but then it just got weird...
-
...that this was the worst episode.
-
It was making fun of the world as it is now to using the idea of money as a substitute to real value. They used space money to represent the worthless amount of value any paper printed currency is.
-
They took a cool concept/good message and somehow fucked it up really bad. Oh well.
-
And I wondered if Matt Parker had a thing against our President, but then when the final revelation of the plot came, I realized that he simply didn't want to make this episode seem like a political message by involving the President (regardless of who he is and which party he represents). Then I laughed.
-
They are not making fun of pop culture. Terrible episode. Just awful.
-
Five words: "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina".
That is all. -
...making fun of pop culture. They made fun of cop movies and alien movies, and star trek.
Decent episode, just not enough Cartman. -
ended up predictable. Called the "it's all a test" twist half way through. But the first ten minutes were solid. Best bits were princess marsh, hollis' end, his son's reaction and finland.
-
they really are stinking up the joint this year.
-
HELLA LAME!
-
Maybe not brilliant like the Earth as reality series concept, but even less than great episodes have funny things to take away from, and Matt and Trey do layer the parodies atop each other...Star Trek, Day The Earth Stood Still, Star Wars, '30s gangster films..etc.
-
This is why I love the internet.

whats wrong with Garrisons Fancy New Vagina?
by supercowbell4therequestformorecowbell
hilarious episode...
-
When listing the sources referenced, don't forget A Simple Plan.
-
Uh, they were.
-
Aside from the first episode that made fun of the Jonas Brothers/Disney, this season has been weak. Randy was one of my favorite characters and now even he isn't funny.
-
Jonas Brothers, The Coon, and Fishsticks were all stellar. So far this season is a vast improvement over the last one. But yeah, I do agree, this episode sucked the dick.
-
The Oprah episode was pretty bad.
-
Was it season 4 or 5 when they started to say "fuck it" and abandon what made the show's animation special? I'm not asking for a return to paper stop-motion, but there is a line and they crossed it last night. I'll admit to the occasional chuckle at something unnecessarily detailed and realistic on SP, it can be funny if done right. If they now have to have a 3D model for a god damn pinewood car, even if it is the focus of the episode, it's gone too far. There is hardly any charm to the animation anymore. The characters and writing are keeping the show strong, but they do not warrant these epic productions and complex animation.
-
It started off strong and kind of dragged toward the end, but overall this season has been a huge improvement from the last. Each week, the show has been consistently funny. And even as lame as last night's ended up, I'd still give it a 5 or a 6
-
..for a show that's in it's 13th season, they still come up with some crazy ideas. This episode wasn't laugh out loud funny, but it was interesting enough. I'd like to see anyone have a show like this for 13 seasons, and still come up with something half as good as this episode.
-
If Peter Griffin stated, "Remember the time I had to steal that whatzit disguised as royalty?", and cut to a Princess Leia gag, people would fall all over themselves complaining about another stupid non sequitar pop culture reference. South Park does the same thing, and its brilliant..of course the difference is all in the execution, but you get the idea.
-
Did you guys see on Kayne West's blog that he went into a Cheesecake Factory and the server brought him a plate of fishsticks? Haha classic.
-
Hits a little too close to home though. We truly are a planet of morons.
-
I hate the Randy-centric episodes.
-
Hey so I just started watching SP regularly starting from this season (late bloomer) so I just wanted to know which episodes i MUST SEE and which i should avoid. When I was a kid I watched some of the episodes from its earlier seasons and thought it was retarded as shit but after watching the WoW episode, More Crap and Guitar Queer-O, I started to love the show. I just love how it pokes fun of everything going on today... so I guess which episodes are subversive yet really awesome?
-
....know that there will always be some that liked the Ep more than others, as well as those that hated it, and some that post just for the fun / hell of it?
Maybe if he spent a little less time in HIS MOMS BOX......
-
And this one was solid....solid man.
It's timed perfectly with that Keenau shitfest Earth Stood remake release on dvd....hmmm.
I kinda wish Kevin hadn't already done the "this film sucks" with Jay and Silent Bob......about the message board haters....because all these peep here who show up relentlessly and trash South Park,...need an episode.
And it too,..would be gold.
But wildly misunderstood in the real world.....kinda like the "hatebackers".
See,...I now christen you all "Hatebackers". -
For example, a co-worker whose tastes and opinion I respect very much LOVED the Guinea Pig episodes from last season. I thought they were extremely lame except for Craig. I didn't think that Fishsticks was all that good, except for the Kanye stuff at the end. But I know there's someone out there who's a diehard fan and thinks last night's ep was the best ever. I guess that's a key to the show's lasting success. The one exception to all this being that godawful Oprah episode... that one just sucked.
-
You people are ridiculous, I just saw this episode, laughed my fucking ass off and came here to see what you guys thought. Some people are calling it the "worst episode ever" are you serious? The Finland stuff alone was fucking gold.
-
Absolutely hilarious. Everyone who says that this episode sucked is crazy!
-
A really good season so far.
-
The one with the bleeding statue and the one with the world's biggest crap. Small doses, gentlemen.
-
It was not. It's been a decent season so far, but that was one of the worst ever.
-
I've really hated this season...and I'm wondering if I've grown out of the show and am no longer part of the target audience, or if Matt and Trey's "Haha! Everybody sucks but us!" shtick has started to sour. Some of the shows from these last two seasons felt like the writers just scanned the internet and picked out somebody's mildly funny message board posts and made episodes from them....
-
While I enjoyed seeing a joke thief like Mencia get called out (even if it is about two years too late)...it's not like Matt and Trey haven't stolen jokes before.

Does this invalidate all the other episodes with aliens?
by the great fucktater
This is important.
-
Earth's leaders' and Randy's interactions with the Space Cops were awesome.
-
Has outgrown some of you. If you don't like, don't watch. I personally think some of the best television ever has come out of the last couple years of South Park.
-
I got a HUGE kick out of this episode. A space alien that talked like a 1920s Gangster? How could you not laugh at that? That was awesomely weird and stream-of-consciousness. Unlike most episodes, this had NO POINT and NO METAPHOR and NO PARODY or anything. And it was great. In fact, the alien plot really gave it an old-school South Park vibe where there were aliens in almost every other episode. Fun stuff.
-
Seriously, that was just a one-note Batman parody (nicely directed in parts, though). This one you DID NOT see coming at all. That's what made it gold. "Really? Space Jail? Space Cash? Are you people retarded?"
-
Leia was good, Nuking Finland was good, suicide dad good, but well.. that's it basically. 3 more gags than most shows but pretty dull for South Park.
And BTW don't confuse an alien spaceship landing with an actual parody of every Science Fiction Movie that has an alien spaceship landing in it.
Some people need to learn the difference between the Meet the Spartans idea of "satire" and the real thing. The Coon was a prime example of South Park falling on the wrong side of it and the plot of this was much the same and pretty meh.
Luckily South Park still manages one or two good laughs even in the drearier Eps but to pretend it's all the same superb quality is absolute horseshit. -
Has changed. It isn't John Howard any more and hasn't been for a while.
-
not great but enjoyable as always. Its been a stellar season in my opinion though, the animation has kicked ass.needs more butters though!...and clyde
-
I think its best to watch the show from the start (and you can watch 'em all at SouthParkStudios.com), because the show has evolved considerably, and its often helpful to know the back story. BUT if I were to pick the best "relevant" episodes of the first 11 seasons, I'd go with the following: Big Gay Al's Big Gay Boat Ride, Mr Hankey the Christmas Poo (S1), Sexual Harassment Panda (S3), Timmy 2000, Chef Goes Nanners, Do the Handicapped Go To Hell/Probably, The Wacky Molestation Adventure (S4), Scott Tenorman Must Die, Cripplefight, Butter's Very Own Episode (S5), Red Hot Catholic Love (S6),***Death Camp of Tolerance***(S7), Up the Down Steroid, Goobacks, Douche and Turd, Stupid Spoiled Whore Video Playset, Woodland Critters Christmas (S8), Best Friends Forever, Two Days Befor the Day After Tomorrow, Ginger Kids, Trapped in the Closet (S9), Cartoon Wars I and II, Make Love Not Warcraft, Mystery of the Urinal Deuce, Go God Go I and II, (S10), With Apologies to Jessie Jackson, Cartman Sucks, Fantastic Easter Special, Imginationland Trilogy (S11) (Yep, there's a lot, but we are talking 11 seasons here).
-
Yes - that alone makes this a top episode. If you don't know why that is so funny ... google some Finnish history. The genius of SouthPark is that they don't explain the reference material for their parodies .. they assume the audience is informed or is smart enough to get informed.
-
...I about burst at the seems.
-
That is all.
-
The resemblance is simply uncanny!
-
Baby Fark McGeezax showed up and the words 'space cash' were first uttered, from that point on it was genius. It may not have been particularly clever or cohesive, but one thing it was, was batshit, random and absurd.
-
.. and Finland. All comedic Gold.
