17 years? I hope they don't age her up. She's a good looking girl.
-
Hodges is proving to be one of the best 24 villains so far. The guy has the balls to stand up to the U.S government and basically say 'Fuck you. And I've got a bunch of weapons behind me that say fuck you too. So yeah, fuck you and i'm going to do whatever the fuck i want.'I hope he gets a suitably epic death scene at the end.
-
I'm sure that promo was cut to make us think Tony's a goner. But it's fucking Tony Almeida - the only way to kill him is to separate his head from his body - and keep them separated for evermore...
-
who's in touch with technology instead of having his minions do all the work. And he's an old fart, too. Jonas rocking the bluetooth and mugging for the phone cam while threatening the prez last week was priceless.Oh, and why no BrBad talkback? Best thing on TV right now. Not afraid to drop F-bombs either.
-
George Washington was in a cult, and the cult was into aliens, man. Behind every good man there is a woman, and that woman was Martha Washington, man, and everyday George would come home, she would have a big fat bowl waiting for him, man, when he come in the door, man, she was a hip, hip, hip lady, man.
-
...not open your own franchise!
-
Check ya later! Check ya later!
-
in a shower scene, clearly Hodges has won then!
-
As creepy manipulative therapist boyfriend?
-
7 hours left including tonight. End game for the Voight storyline has to be tonight or next week (maybe the following week, but that seems unlikely) ... so what happens in the final five hours? It seems late to introduce another plot, doesn't it? Something involving the First Lady and/or Emerson (who I reckon is still alive)? Olivia Shenanigans? One final mole?
We know Chloe is coming back (thx Ausiello), and First Lady as well. But to do what I don't know. -
That is all.
-
Hodges is the fucking man. The mugging into the camera phone as he talked shit to the prez was the best mustache-twirling moment in the history of 24. The Monarch would be pleased! Lets hope he gets some more golden scenes of villainry tonight!
-
Season 2 took place one year later. Season 3 took place four years later. Season 4=one year later. Season 5=one year and a half later. Season 6=two years later. Season 7=four years later. That equals 13 and a half years.
-
i hope he gets away this season and starts wrecking personal havoc on bauer friends and family all through season 8,with bauer never catching up to him,,never being on screen with hodges, all the way until the end of season 9,yes season 9,,the last scene of the series is jack extracting nearly 3 seasons of anger on hodges..the more you keep them away the bigger the build up would be
-
Plus whoever was incumbent during the primaries on Day One. A LOT of time must have elapsed. Even accounting for assassinations and coups, LOL. It's pointless pinning down the perpetual present to a particular year but I can totally believe that Jack's younger than his own daughter by now.
-
man that dude is too awesome, a really crazy villain played well but it didnt get personal yet with jack, thats what this show needs a little now, a face off between jack and Jonas. that guy is off the hook!
-
Tonight's episode is one for the ages, with a shocking game-changer at the end.
P.S. I, too, love Freckles Bauer. -
How ironic is that?
-

The delay between the seasons was good for 24
by christian_bale_trashed_my_lights
No idea what the original plan of the writers was, but if it involved the stupid evil Africans blowing shit up throughout, i'm glad they took some time out to rethink the storyline. The episodes after the attack on the White House (i.e the ones which involved Hodges) have been excellent!
-
He was in the Redemption movie, iirc.
-
Redemption was actually shot after episode 7 was shot. Redemption was produced after the writers strike happened. That is when they added jonas.
-
Ok, that makes sense.
-
Thats one of the funniest things I've heard on this board in a while
-
Jonas Hodges is one of the best TV villians *ever* and I love Freckles Bauer too.
-
What Craig2574 said. What does iirc mean?

Rack Bauer and Elisha make a nice combo.

Kim Bauer
Rack Bauer
President's daughter -
If I recall correctly, IIRC stands for Isn't It Really Cool. I think they're one of Harry's big rivals.
-
Grammatically correct since 1996.

According to Paul Avery Elisha Cuthbert is "Sloppy Seconds"
by xiphos_2
The fucking NHL suspended him for saying that, well that and bunch of other things, but still c'mon NHL.Chesty Freckles was looking particularly fetching last week.
-
If this site has cool news, and IIRC has really cool news, I think we need to nuke the fridge and ask Herc, WHO ARE YOU WORKING FOR? Damn it. We're too late. I told you this would happen. Let's go home kid.
-
IIRC uses Apples and Blackberries, whereas AICN eats apples and blackberries, with a nice bit of custard. And IIRC waterboards moles, but AICN prefers its moles barbecued. Nice and crispy.
-
I thought it was more in the thirteen range.
-
They really dropped the ball with that amnesia plot line. They could have tortured Terri until she remembered who she was. Amnesia is no match for torture. Yeah. That's why Jack Bauer would kick Jason Bourne's ass. Bourne would give up his identity in a heartbeat and there wouldn't be any sequels. That's right.
-
How many uses of the phrase "copy that" this season? How many "DAMMIT"'s? Tell me now. You're running out of time. I want immunity. I AM A PATRIOT!
-
The terrorists figure if they all have amnesia then Jack can't spoil their day but then Jack gets out the blowtorch and proves the terrorists don't know Jack shit.
-
would put the year in the 24-verse at 2018. But guess what? If you freeze frame the clemency agreement the President signs for that guy who works for Starkwood, it says the year is 2007. So, looks like 24 sucks at continuity, d-bags. Just kidding, but seriously, it should be like 2018 in that world. Where are the hoverboards?
-
They could say it is 1954 for all I care.
-
Has fantastically slutty dirty eyes - I want to sex her.
-
Palmer served 4 years. Following Palmer, there was Keeler (incapacitated when Air Force One went down), Logan (revealed as traitor, quietly arrested) and Gardner, who finishes the term. Wayne Palmer is then elected, and his term is finished by Noah Daniels, who is subsequently beaten in the next election by Allison Taylor.
That's three full terms, so far-- (1)David Palmer (2) John Keeler, Charles Logan, Hal Gardner (3) Wayne Palmer, Noah Daniels-- and now we're at the start of a fourth. We know it's the fourth, because it follows pretty close on the heels of "Redemption". Including the primaries of Day 1, therefore, we've had a maximum total of 13 years-- not 17. -
And how the heck do we discuss lesbian threesomes without mentioning Naked Mandy?
-
Jack's set up a CTU spin off running children's parties for kids. Of course, Jack's running out of time, playing follow the leader, with the little terrors, on the perimeter of a bouncy castle, shaped like the White House. One boy shoves a little girl to the ground, in the Oval Office, and snarls at her "Copy that." The girl starts crying, so Jack pleads with her "Tell me what you want? Do you want immunity?" and the kid sobs "I want my mummy."
-
get exposed to prions and have to get showered and scrubbed down "Silkwood" style? When? When?
Please God. -
IIRC is an acronym - if I recoil correctly - which originates from New Jersey in the summer of 1999 and a conversation between Paulie Walnuts and Christopher Moltisanti. Recoil is the the backward kick of a gun when it is fired - or, more specifically, a force equal to the time derivative of the backward momentum resulting when a gun is fired, where the backward momentum is equal to the mass of the gun times reverse velocity, and with the backward momentum being equal, by the law of conservation of momentum, to the forward momentum of the ejecta of the gun - that is, the projectile, wad, sabot, propellant gases etc. Provided that enough information is known about the mass and velocity of the ejecta, it is possible to calculate its momentum and thus the recoil. In practice, however, it is often easier simply to measure the recoil force directly, such as with a ballistic pendulum. In most small guns, the force of the recoil is absorbed usually by the body of the shooter; in heavier guns, such as mounted machine guns or cannons or bazookas, the recoil is absorbed by a mounting system. For small arms, the way in which the shooter perceives the recoil, or kick, can have a significant impact on the shooter's experience and performance. For example, a gun that "kicks like a mule" is going to be approached with trepidation, and the shooter will anticipate the recoil and flinch in anticipation as the shot is released. This leads to the shooter jerking the trigger, rather than pulling it smoothly, and the jerking motion is almost certain to disturb the alignment of the gun and result in a miss. So,chrth, next time you ask Kim Cougar, Naked Mandy and Rack Bauer to tell you about "IIRC", make sure they have a decent mounting system to cope with your ejecta, or they'll kick you like a mule.
-
Finally got Turn Coat from the library, and knowing me I won't be able to sleep until I finish, so I'm postponing House and 24 to tomorrow. Have fun y'all!
-
Wait, so I have to chat this up by myself? Oh no!
-
But I'll only add comments about Rack and Kim's tits.
-
Let's see, attack on the white house, attack on President, planes crashing, biological weapons.
-
Voigt makes a good villain, but what I'd like to see is Chuck Norris playing the BB.
What sense would screaming "Put down your weapon!" make to a guy who's kicking you in the face? -
Will it come to this?
-
The Save Kim parts were the only things worth watching. The Imperialist Propaganda bits have always been terrible.
-
he's lame. he was lame from the very beginning. "we have this magical device that can bring the world to a chaos". "we have this magical plans that can put a team of soldiers inside the white house and take the president hostage". "we have this magical missiles with this magical biological weapon, let me show you them with my magical video-phone". It's ridiculous. what the point? just so that they can have "bigger stakes". "the lives of millions are in danger" instead of "the life of some hot teenager and her friend, and some black dude running for president are in danger". I cared more about kim being eaten by a cougar than I care about millons of imaginary people being killed by some magical device.
-
Remember Season One, when we only cringed at the horrible acting of the mom and daughter? How things have changed.
-
I bet that's in the description of every damn episode. I miss the first seasons of 24 where they actually understood how to BUILD UP to events.
-
it sux dong
-
Voight fills the role as with an "I deserve an emmy for this" performance every episode. It really bugs me when shows stunt cast with the entitlement attitude that they are doing something special. Take away the long shots, drawn out speeches, and low slow music when he's on screen, it's a pretty lame overall performance.
-
Damn fine job sir.
-
Hopefully, Freckles gets Kim stem cells by, like, totally lezing out for two hours. That's how it should be done. Oh, and I know why they swapped out the old dude for the president's daughter as a white house VIP. Because having the old guy fuck the reporter would have been kind of an awkward scene. Probably pretty funny, though.
-
Jack is on the moon now?
-
But I can't blame him, she was holding onto information about a doomsday device, and was trying to overthrow the government.
-
24 rocks.
-
I thought Kim despised Jack and never wanted to see him again after she shacked up with that creepy therapist guy. Now she loves him again and says "I can't lose you?" After she already thought he was dead once? Does she have retrograde amnesia or just blonde-itis?
-
Tony must be using Octo-Camo at the moment. Although Jack's storyline mirrors that of Solid Snake's in Metal Gear Solid 4 at present, it's definitely Tony who's bringing the Foxhound skills to the fore out in the field.
-
Judging from her line delivery in the promo, I'd say Kim was suffering from blonde-itis. Still.
-
24 has always had a bit of an MGS vibe, but Jack infected with FOXDIE kind of seals it. And the african germ warfare test is straight out of Resident Evil 5. I just realized I used a hell of a lot of nerdy abbreviations in that subject header. Cool.
-
Chloe-itis. I hope she and Kim meet up this week, if only so they can discuss old times, like when Kim was a brainy computer tech at CTU, despite being dumb enough to be easily convinced that the world was ending by crazy survivalist man. Just remember, this show has always had ludicrous plot holes from Day 1...but some are easier to overlook than others.
-
I salute your use of nerdy abbreviations. There's definitely a Japanese action game vibe to 24 and I think it's all the better for it. Jack could do with a bandana, especially one that would give him infinite ammo for later hours.
-
come on freckles. I thought Jack was going to bitchslap her.
-
if this dumb bitch flip flops one more time this season, the joint chiefs are going to stage a coup
she has actually been the worse president on this show yet -
This lady makes Bush look like a great decision maker.
-
Symptoms of Chloe-itis: excessive scowling and slightly sweaty underarms?
-
"madaam president, we have a clear shot at the terrorists, however they are threating to untuck your sheets and mess up your pillows if you do not call of strike"..................."STAND DOWN , STAND DOWN!"
-
That line made me laugh far more than it should have.
-

isn't that scientist the guy from dancing with the stars?
by raystevensonwarzone
Epic explosionz

You're fucked now.

Press button...BO...THIS IS A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY BROADCAST SYSTEM...ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME?!?!?!
-
hahahahahahhahahahahahahahahahah
-
Enter the Vice President!
-
Betcha.
-
Seriously, I didn't get to see but a milisecond of the explosion.
-
He should have grabbed a bottle of Vermouth and swung blindly.
-
1. Tony
2. Emerson
3. Dubaku
4. Juma
5. Starkwood/Hodges
6. ???
It seems like every other episode it's like, "You may have caught me, but I'm only a small cog in a bigger machine! HAHAHAHA!" -
You NEED me on that wall!
Jonas Hodges is trying out for A Few Good Men 2: A Few More Gooder Men. -
the true bad guy can not be revealed until jack is yet again framed and on the run from the fbi

Take his, uh, who am I talking? Terri? Is that you?
by raystevensonwarzone
Terri's dead?!?! AAAAGGHGGHGHG
Why have you aged 17 years Kim? What happened? -
Where EVERY other WORD is EMPHASIZED like SO!
-
But we are 100% sure you cannot spread it...we think
-
us the intimate moment when Rack and Kim meet? I needed something to spend a good 2 minutes on later tonight.
-
With Kim having actually looking for Jack all day.
-
Pretend that was English and you know what I meant.
-
I agree... I'm looking forward to more Elisha hotness.
-
It really is. Right down to the handy injections that suppress the spazzy side effects and the fact that it's probably not going to kill Jack in the long run. Bit of a dead-end really. And even if it does get worse Jack can just hold on to furniture or hide behind plants, Michael J. Fox style.
-
Wats with her new cleft chin?
-
I can't decided if it's more of a turn on or turn off... maybe we need to hear Rack say it a few times?
-
She's always had that.
-
It's probably a hockey injury.
-
...w/o makeup and overweight, she does nothing for me these days. And she didn't look all that hot tonight.
-
Seriously - had it on DVR - went to watch at 9:20 to ffwd commercials - I ffwd for 23 mins to Voight and prez in white house and "an explosion has just occurred at the compound" WTF! I have been in real time ever since - i assume Tony blowed it up real good. Torrents, here I come!
-
it isn't new.
-
Is ridiculously inept. That's what I've learned this season.
-
I bet she's a hellcat in the sack.
-
Everybody could just watch that shit live...
-
OH FUCK NO... Why make him the bad guy again!
-
I did not see that one coming.
-
6. TONY
-
ITS ON
-
Wow.
-
DAMN!
-
does NOT fuck around in bed, and she don't care 'bout your needs... oh no... hellcat? Hellcats look up to her, brother.
-
did not see that coming...

Tony is undercover+undercover+undercover+undercover
by raystevensonwarzone
He is in so deep he doesn't even know what he is doing or why he is doint it.
-
Holy Shit is just right.
But it's "Holy Shit" just for teh sake of saying "Holy Shit" I think. -
Tony!?!?!?!?! SOULPATCH!?!?!?! DAFUCK
-
Thats the sound of my head as it it explodes! HOLY SHIT!
-
that Tony is dead (again), either by the end of this season or next. Dammit!
-
they're in the middle of killing you...
-
Triple agent? Quadruple agent? The famed Quintuple agent?
-
We don't know what's what yet. MAYBE this will make sense somehow. Maybe?
-
doesn't even get a silent clock
-
Just when you thought it safe to assume he was indeed a goodguy.
-
FINALLY- a 24 twist I couldn't predict!
-
I'm with Sherm I think... this is not a good development.
Chloe's boobs on the otherhand, have a very maternal look to them now. -
Dammit!
-
kim ends up having super stem cells. jack heals miraculously and ends up having a mano y mano fist fight with tony on top of a building, tony geths thrown off the building after being shot 8 times, yet ends up not being on the ground as dr loomis looks over the edge and screams NOOOOOOOOOOOO!
-
ALL THE TIME. IT NEVER FAILS. WE GET THE BEST SEASON SINCE DAY THREE AND THEY GO AND DO THIS STUPID LAME AS HELL GARBAGE SWERVE....
-
doesn't mean it's good, or makes sense
-
I'm Canadian and we don't get the previews..
-
I guess I missed the memo.
-
Funk dat. Not near enough time to jiggle my genitalia.
-
that Tony was going to go bad again, actually...right after that bullshit line about being "ready to pay for what he's done". He had a really weird look on his face.
-
TONY DESERVES A FUCKING SPINOFF YOU PRICKS!!! YOU RESURRECTED HIM BECAUSE OF OUR OUTRAGE, AND NOW YOU DO THIS!?
-
The ONLY point I will make about Tony is that THIS season, he's never been about helping the government, but ONLY about helping Jack. Everything he's done that's been good has been out of a dedication or loyalty to Jack, not his country. The point where he asks Moss how Jack is, and gets the notice that he's not well, only serves to reinforce Bad Guy Tony.
I will admit it's lazy writing and POOR story plotting to make him the endgame Big Bad, only because they blew the Jonas Wad too early. -
I'm out.
-
Dope.
-
Fuck you, writers of 24.
-
Well, if that twist doesn't kill the show, I can't imagine what will. Bleah.
-
"As a matter of fact - - it was!" "Whats going on out here?" "Call the Sheriff!" "what?" "Tell him I shot him! Six Times!" "What is this?" "Tell him he's still on the loose?" "I've been trick or treated to death tonight....." "You dont know what Death is!!!"
-
There's gotta be someone else...
-
doesn't make much sense, but I guess we have a few more ep's to hear an explanation for it. Plus, it reinforces the suspicions some of the other talkbackers had concerning Tony's loyalty.
-
...I DON'T GIVE A SHIT.
-
"there was nothing in him, neither conscience nor reason , that was even remotely human...im talking about the real possibility that he is still out thereeeeeee!"
-
Please don't come back. Your bitching about everything has gotten old.
-
and then kill him quickly.
-
Seriously - that's just Sick with coolness. If it has the same level of logic as Nina then they did what they haven't been able to do since end year one - utter shock the shit out of me. That was incredible!
-
First he's bad
Then he's good
Now he's bad again
My head hurts
There better be a good explanation for this shit.
I still love this season though. -
Explosion? Decapitation? Bullet to the brain? Step right up, place your bets!
-
Or is it possible that "dying" caused Tony to go crazy?
-
I think I might start watching the first season again. Just fastfoward all the boring parts (anything involving amnesia mom).
-
Go back and watch season 1 again... KNOWING that Nina is the mole makes that season even better.
-
and the first daughter...yay-er!
-
I wanted Tony to be the main attraction next season what with Jack dribbling and shaking all over! I don't think I can face Tony dying again, good or bad! Writers of 24 are evil bastards, lol.
-
"What is it - you fellows fire a warning shot, right?" POW! right through the front window of the helicopter and the pilots head exploded!
-
I mean you fucks have been complaining all the time about how unrealistic it is for Jack to put his neck on the line so many times and constantly get railroaded for it.....then you complain when Tony shows he is the bad guy b/c of all the same shit happening to him by the government???? Fuck....
So, I think this is awesome....didn't make sense to ME that Tony was playing all hero...made sense to me that he wanted a little payback. Not sure what his endgame is but he is the perfect foil....he knows all the procedure, he's in deep, he has Jack himself fooled and has Moss set up as taking the fall to give him the time he needs. And let's not forget the ultimate end-all battle to the death between Jack and Tony we are gonna get....how can anyone NOT like that??? -
Just rewatched season 1 the other day. First 12 hours are godly. Stephen Hopkins needs to come back and direct more 24 episodes.
-
because the one man who can stop him is dying...of course, now Jack will undergo the experimental stem cell treatment in order to stop him...and I bet Kim dies during the surgery.
-
.. the season ends with Tony NOT dying, but escaping to fight again another day? Then they can devote next season (presumably the final season) to Jack hunting for Tony. Devote a whole season to Jack vs. Tony, which is what we were expecting this one to be. Tony's practically the next best guy to Jack, so its really like a "Good Jack vs. Evil Jack" scenario. I hope he doesn't just get killed off like a chump 6 episodes from now. Keep him around for the final season!
-
How often have I "bitched" about this season? Rarely.
-
You're winning me round... As long as Jack vs Tony is like the punch up at the end of MGS4 then it will indeed be worth it.
-
*are* actually working together, that's gonna be a mindfuck of an explanation for the writers to come up with.
-
so presumably, he'll live to smother another day.
-
when the big touted fight between Jack and Tony was hardly a tussle that Jack dominated (now obvious Tony didnt give that fight 100% as he wanted to get caught). So, NOW we get our money's worth
-
That I could believe.
-
The writers even had a clue that Nina was the bad guy a few eps before it was revealed. Kim is in the police station. She tells the detective to call her mom at CTU to confirm who she is. The detective comes back and says that she is free to go, that he confirmed who she is. Kim asks "Did you talk to my mom?" and the detective answers yes. Later, Mom is in the conference room and she has no clue what anyone's talking about. Either shes the mole or the only other female - Nina - is. It was so nicely hidden yet right in front of your face if you were keeping track.
-
even better, as it would be really good for 24's final year to build from hour one to that type of showdown, minus the hokey twists and plot holes that have slowed down previous seasons.
-
The season had me until tonight. I bought the Tony was a bad guy, but really a good guy, bit once. Now to have him turn into the bad guy again is a complete cheat. All the work he did, to DETER the supposed bad guys, like blowing up the launch missiles, among the many other things, only for HIM to be a bad guy in the end???? Idiotic!! Idiotic in the sense that it's going to once again (how many times has it been now?) PISS OFF the legions of fans who love and adore Tony, but it's also idiotic as a plot device. Like I said, a complete "jump the shark" moment. I'm not saying I'm done with the show like others are already screaming, but I can tell you I "MAY" be done with it after this season. This better make fucking sense in the end, that's for damn sure!!!
-
Go. Be Free.
-
...is that now Agent Walker is available to hook up with Jack as his new love interest next season. Seems like they've been subtly hinting around at that this season between the two of them, but Walker seemed to have some kind of history with Moss. I totally had a feeling they'd kill him off at some point if their plan is to pair her up with Jack. It's a good match, and much better than Audrey. :)
-
Not this talkback.
-
Killing Walsh was the way to show that anyone could die on 24.
-
Again, good point. This then makes Day 7 an interesting watch back through like Day 1 was when you had the knowledge of the turn. You can look out for details. I'll admit I've not been entirely convinced by Tony's allegiance and there have been some questionable looks and on his face throughout (good job by Bernard) but the writers had fooled me enough during the last couple of eps that I was worrying for Tony's welfare and what might happen to him come the end of the day. I was working on an assumption that Jack might let Tony slip back into the shadows, but clearly, it's going to have to be an epic punch up! Okay. I've recovered. I'm down for that.
-
So, I only have to skim your comments this one last time. I think I can live with that.
-
Tony only went back to the side of the angels when he thought innocents were going to die. At this point, we don't what his motivation is.
-
RE: Season 1, the Keycard was my favorite part.. we KNOW she's the mole, but because Jack trusts her (even though dead guy told us the only guy to trust was the other chick), we condition ourselves to trust her and allows her to run amok.
And we learn that in the first few hours, if I recall. -
...time? Don't be silly.
-
from his disease, and will have to fight Tony blind-master style...with flaming katanas.
-
Just when I thought the President being behind the whole thing was all Stallone like (Over the Top, BITCHES), they go and do something that makes absolutely no sense.
But just as season 5 turned me into believing that the Pres could do it, these brilliant salesmen will once again work their magic and have me saying "why did I ever doubt them".
Just you watch! -
At this point during production (6 episodes left), the producers shut down filming for a couple of weeks and ordered the writers to come up with a new angle for the finale. This has been the best season in a long time, and I have faith the season will end as utterly cool and badass as it started.
-
But from the moves Tony was pulling off tonight, he sure as hell is.
-
The one that sounded like Phillip Seymour Hoffman?
-
There's too much going on there, too much good this season to write it off yet. I'm going to ride it out, see how they explain this.
-
I'm a huge Tony fan and was dreading his return this season if the writers weren't going to bring their A game. I don't want to see him die again or particularly be an out and out bad guy so, yeah, I am a bit taken aback at yet another CTU agent swinging wildly to the darkside late on in a season BUT I've still got faith in the writers this year. They didn't blow his return and if they are going to keep him for Day 8 then there must be more to this twist than meets the eye. Fingers crossed.

you better be!!
-
They rewriting the ending this late in the game? That doesn't bode well...
-
No, in the very first episode (the first 24 Boss Casualty)... fuck if I remember his name, but I think he was played by the guy who played the head of the Secret Service on West Wing.
-
It is Michelle. She's been built. They have the technology.
-
It seems like Tony was only doing everything to help Jack out of loyalty. Once he found out Jack might not make it, he went back to evil Tony.
-
Senator Heller (Audrey's dad). He's out for revenge after what happened to his daughter, and Tony is working with him. :)
-
President Palmer! He would have a beef against the government, too!
-
better fucking be Charles Logan. He wants revenge after getting a fork lodged in his shoulder.
-
They had written themselves into a pretty bleak corner (Jack on the verge of death, Tony's switcheroo, etc.). That's when they recognized they needed a new angle. To me, the order to halt production and do a re-write shows they care enough to give the fans a quality show. They could've easily had the attitude of, "Oh, well, fuck it. We'll make it up to the fans next year."
-
President Curly Bill was more interesting.
-
Zombie David Palmer, wielding nothing but a baseball bat, would be... AWESOME.

Okay, yeah... Bringing back Charles Logan would be the coolest
by shabbyblue
Evil ex-president back for revenge! We still haven't seen definite confirmation that he died from that stab to the neck, so it's certainly possible. Maybe his surviving that attack is why his wife went completely off the deep end (as hinted by Aaron this season). Logan being the mastermind would be the coolest, most insane way to cap this season in the last few episodes. There's no way Tony is the head villain, and if Hodges isn't lying about being a small cog in the wheel, then I want to know who the REAL main villain is. Seems too late in the season to introduce some new character, so it's gotta be an old villain we all know and love. So bring back Logan! :)
-
Was it created during Logan's administration? Maybe Hodges is still secretly working with Logan. Hmmmm...
-
because Tony's not running this show all by himself. And I hope they don't kill Kim during the operation because let's be honest, that will be the only way to make it interesting...
-
How does Tony being a good guy, only out of a sense of loyalty to Jack, make sense? So, now that Jack may die, let's honor everything Jack stood for by stealing a secret cannister that Tony had stashed, because he knew ahead of time he was going to blow up the biological weapons. Why blow them up then? Did he blow them up, because "HE" wanted to be the guy to do it. Of course he ONLY decided that AFTER he knew Jack was probably going to die. Great theory guys, makes a lot of sense. You guys are all reaching, and IF that IS what the writers are going with, then the best season in a loooooooong time, just went down the shitter in my book.
-
I'm split on this Tony twist.
On the one hand, I don't understand the logic of working with Bill and Jack all day, blowing up the rest of the bioweapon when you were really just going to steal one and be the big bad anyway. I think it's a last-minute rewrite and it's going to need a good explanation to be plausible.
However, I think it sets up a nice dramatic ending for the season. Jack vs. Tony can be emotional and it's probably more entertaining to see the two of them fight than it would be to see Keifer Sutherland fight Jon Voight. ... Maybe Tony just decided once Bill was dead and Jack on the verge of death that he needed to think fast so he called one of his old cronies because he knew it was jail for him. That might be a weak explanation but I'd buy that before I'd buy that he was the bad guy all along.
Really, though, I hope they build up to a classic cliffhanger...what if Tony killed Kim? -
Obviously the guy was in his crew, maybe they were instructed to take down Starkwood by any means necessary, and to get a cannister of the shit. They were just working on different sides. But if Tony knew that there was someone above Jonas, he "switched sides" once again, to take em down. Moss was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. That better be the case.
-
No confirmed death. It's felt like his kind of plot throughout the season, to be honest. They just distracted me with crazy, evil, scene-stealing Hodges and military compounds and bioweapons! Perhaps Tony needs to turn to get closer to Logan?
-
to Hodges, if Hodges original plan had worked. As the president indicated, Hodges would have had more security clearance and power than even the vice president, and potentially Logan could have been secretly calling the shots. It would be like Logan working as a shadow president, maybe waiting for the right moment to reclaim real power. Heh heh... it's funny how we've built him up to be the ultimate sneaky genius, like Senator Palpatine. I doubt any of this would pan out, but it's fun to think about. :)
-
I'll say this much. I've always tended to be a lurker on these talk backs, not saying much, but tonights episode has really got me going....
-
I think it's worth giving it one more week (or the rest of the season) to ponder it and see what they come up with.
-
Jonas standing over Kim, gun drawn, wearing his West Canaan Coyotes jacket. "Your daddy was a no-talent pussy, but at least he listened!" Bang.
-
Key to 24 is that Jack and Tony will do whatever it takes to get the job done. When Jack chose to save the Port Authority supervisor and jeopardise the mission despite Tony's protestations, it showed that one of them was starting to question the ethics of their decision-making. Tony could really be doing, at this point in the day, what Jack would do, killing whoever was in the way if it meant moving forward towards an end game. That doesn't explain stealing a canister of the pathogen, admittedly. But perhaps Tony wants to use it against the person at top of the tree, so to speak? Especially if that person turns out to be Logan...
-
that would be such a total mindfuck. Two people he trusted the most and didn't think were capable of stabbing him in the back - Nina and Tony - end up taking away the two things he holds dear to his life. Hell, at this point, I'm hoping the writers do go with it, and have Tony escape. That would make the Jack-hunting-down-Tony-dream season 8 so raw. 24 had its best seasons when Jack yearned to put a bullet in Nina's dome.
-
There's nothing in Tony's behaviour that's any different from classic Jack behaviour at this point during a day. Also, despite my shock at the twist, the writers are clearly not calling on cheap shock-tactics like they were last season with Palmer's bluff, Milo's death etc.
-
Is that Tony wouldn't and shouldn't be working for him. Surely he knows Logan is ultimately responsible for Michelle's death, so it wouldn't make sense for him to side with the guy. Unless he's once again playing double agent, waiting for the right moment to strike at his boss Logan. Or maybe he plans to personally use that gas on Logan. Ah well... probably wasting our time with all this speculating. I bet Logan won't even show up. That's just a bit too cool for the writer's to come up with.
-
...his wife's death... Ok, maybe I'm back in.
-
I'm guessing she hasn't see Jack in like 4-5 years now. Not since before the Chinese kidnapped him and kept him captive for a couple years. And how much time has past between the end of season 6 and now? Isn't it like 2-3 years later? When she showed up tonight, I was almost expecting her to tell him she's married with a kid. Guess what Jack, you're a granddad! Hehe...
-
Tony killed Moss. That's unforgivable. And yeah, you'll hear someone say "Well, Jack killed Chapelle" but the circumstances of that were very different. Tony could have plugged Starkwood Agent #50 and told Moss "I gotta take this here cannister, adios compadre!" and run off. Nope, the writers mean to make Tony batshit evil. And it's such a terrible twist. I reject it with all of my 24-loving being.
-
Evil soul-patch is not a riveting game-change. I felt like I was watching Heroes.
Looks like I finally found my moment to give up on 24 after all these years. -
If the producers intention is for Walker to hook up with Jack next season. Moss, who seemed like her secret lover, had get out of the picture so she'd have no problem moving on to Jack. :)
-
You make a good point about the best seasons having the shadow of Nina cast over them, definitely. She was a brilliant character and it totally consumed Jack. It would be interesting if they enabled Jack to rebuild his relationship with Kim over a couple more hours before having Tony do the unthinkable!
-
Stabbed Logan??
-
A much better death- a warrior's death.

Oh right... I forgot Hodges was a cannibal. Wait... what?
by shabbyblue
-
I can't defend Tony killing Moss either. I'm trying to rewire my 24 loving brain to accomodate this twist as best I can but that is always going to be a sticking point, you're right. I'm still not convinced Tony's all the way evil, I do think it's more a case of any means necessary but I'm not entirely convinced myself. At least it's given us something to debate even if it has violated the show for many also.
-
I mean Travis the Chimp was no cannibal. Wait...

Yeah but if Hodges bit Moss' face off, he could have survived..
by shabbyblue
Just look at Mason Verger. :)
-
This is bullshit. I've been watching 24 since day 1 and this is the first time I feel like I want to stop watching. The writers always write Tony like he has multi-personality disorder. First he betrays the country for Michelle in some ridiculously contrived blackmail scheme, I could forgive that. Then they kill him unceremoniously like he was a stupid rookie punk, I could barely forgive that. Now, after risking everything and going out of his way to save the country, he turns on it again and starts killing FBI. Unforgivable. Don't those stupid fuck writers know that we want someone to cheer for besides Jack? Every time they give us someone, they kill him off. Now what, kill Tony twice? Just fucking stupid. Maybe they can end the season with Teri Bauer, back from the dead, as the leader of the underground, ordering Kim to strangle Jack to death, which she does. The clock ticks down as Terri has a 3 way with naked Mandy and Sherry Palmer. At this point, why not? Fucking bastard writers.
-
out of my brain. Thanks for undoing hrs of meditation and therapy!
-
Or did Tony make him unconscious to fool the black dude ?
Like a triple cross of a double cross kinda thing ? -
But probably not. Renee is getting the "Paul Raines" plot device #7 from the 24 writer's playbook.
-
So even if Tony only made him unconscious from the Bauer neck pinch, he'd still be dead before he wakes up.
-
Super-evil traitor/murderer Tony was nice. But I hereby now present MY invention...MY theory of 24...a theory that is mine...that I will now relate. As he dies, respirating bubbles of chest-wound blood brought down by Rack B. (yes, she gets that kill)...Tony will somehow be in the position of 'pulling the trigger' on a big attack (if not THE big attack). In that moment, he will do the right thing and not be the dick & save the day. You heard it here first...sorry to be the spoiler.
-
You have to last more than one season to get that honor. And even then, it's not always guaranteed.
-
because you made all of that shit up just now, right?
-
Do you think?

by shabbyblue
I seem to recall 2 or 3 big ones, certainly as important if not more so than Larry freakin' Moss! He's a secondary character that we've only known for 18 episodes. Hardly a fan favorite, or worthy of the silent clock treatment.
-
That was because his death was a total botch on behalf of the writers apparently. I was hoping Larry would head up CTU next year so hopefully he will still be alive to do just that!
-
If they were to make honorary postage stamps, Buchanan, Mason- those guys get the full stamp. Moss gets the 1-cent stamp. It's not to say he sucks a dick, but he does not rate anywhere near the heroism of those other great characters. No silent clock for you, Larry!
-
Where the writers have actually been given time to stage their twists and turns and revise them if they've forced the plot into corners, according to Carlos Bernard, sooo they're either all over this and will revive Larry and ensure that Tony is still fighting the good fight, or they have indeed just gone totally Season 6 on our asses.
-
Mason also.

We got a silent clock when Renee was getting buried alive
by shabbyblue
So there's hardly a science to all this. The producers just use it to signify an especially intense moment.

The doc told Jack he was going to start experiencing hallucinations. Hes already in a hospital bed and everything we have seen since is a "Bobby Ewing Dallas moment"

Damn subject limits
-
Since halfway into this ep, he found one on a desk at FBI headquarters and has been staring into it the whole time. :)
-
Who knows how this will play out, there could be plenty of reasonable explanations.
Tony is obviously working against both the FBI and Starkwood, so him helping the FBI to take Starkwood down is still consistent and makes sense.
Also Im not convinced Moss is dead. It seems like Tony killing him was staged, and he wasnt really hurting Moss and trying to get him to play along and play dead. -
Doesn't look like there's help coming for the seemingly unconscious Moss. He's dead. Accept it.
-
forgot he got shot like 3 times with a shotgun
-
Ha ha
-
William Shatner was a fucking asshole to most of the STAR TREK cast.
-
Is Tony challenging Marwan for the largest number of bizarre contingency plans in a single season of 24? This shit makes no sense.
-
There are bigger forces at play here.
Tony is not the big bad guy. It goes much deeper than that. I predict this season will end in a cliff-hanger with the ultimate villians not revealed this season.
Look at what Tony has done today helping Bill and Chloe. Look at his face when he "finished off" Moss. He doesn't want to do this but it will blow his cover. I don't think the other guy is Starkwood. This will all tie together and Tony will not be the big bad guy. -
Called it weeks ao tony was still a baddie. 5either tony is head villian now and was thinning out the competition or is 2nd henchman to a major twist like logan or other characters we thought dead who still live out for revenge. Like tony/ michelle, wayne palmer. I bet barooooooze! is the main mastermind
-
and the fashions are the same?
ugh! -
Tony is doing what he has to do, by whatever means necessary... to get to Logan. this is all about Tony killing Logan. it was already brought up earlier in the season when Tony & Jack were talking about Logan briefly... the implication was that Logan was still alive & that Tony was pissed that he got off so easy. Tony is on a mission to kill the man ultimately responsible for Michelles death.if that's not it, then i'm REALLY depressed at this switch back to the dark side. this episode left me so bummed out.
-
The writers have a theme this season. Do whatever it takes to take down the ultimate bad guy, even if it means killing civilians and FBI agents, or go with Rene's and Larry's point of view. Jack started seeing things from Rack's perspective and almost got Tony killed. Oh WAIT. What about Jonah's sidekick, you think he freed Tony because he works for someone else? Jonah seemed very surprised by his "genius". My mind is doing jumping jacks! No pun intended.
-
How much I hate fake blonde hair with black eyebrows. In the year 2009, is it really impossible to dye eyebrows? And does the average American male really hate brunettes so much? Also, was it just me, or did Rack look especially jiggly tonight running down the aisles of the FBI offices? Of least importance, if Tony is really such a bastard fucker, does it make sense that he blows up all the bio-weapon missiles in order to just let one canister go? I'm inclined toward the "going for the bigger fish" theory.
-
I watched the West Coast feed. Sorry. A little late to the party.

Big big baddie.
-
From the explosion in Season 5.......Stuff like that will change your personality, or so I've heard.
-
They sure know how to use people to attack the country!
Starkwood came off kinda lame with the whole "we want a seat at the table" stuff. I wonder if Jack will get to interrogate Jona? -
I can't believe that I posted all of that in caps. Tony, you son of a bitch...
-
Jack said tonight he was starting to hallucinate. Maybe the rest of the season all takes place in Jack's warped mind. The final scene of the season will find Jack in a dark room. "Tony," he says, "must... stop... Tony." He hears a woman's voice from behind him. "Jack," she says. "Tony's not evil. It was all only a dream. Oh, and Kim never came to visit you. That was a dream, too." The woman steps into the light. "My god," says Jack. "Nina... you're alive!!!!" "No," says Nina, "Not alive. You had a brain hemmorhage, Jack. You're dead. Welcome to Hell." Cue the closing 24 clock-- tick, tick, tick, tick-- then the numbers catch fire and burn out the numbers "666." End of series.
-
The best thing that can happen next week, is that its explained somehow that moss is alive, and it was all a scheme to get tony closer to whoever the next main bad-guy is.
Otherwise, this just doesn't make any fucking sense. Its been established that Tony has been working with chloe and bill for awhile now undercover to figure out who the real bad-guys were, to the point that he even killed his good friend emerson. It doesn't make any fucking sense for him to switch sides. And if it was a snap decision, like he changed his mind, then why the fuck did he risk his life to destroy the missiles?
You're telling me after destroying the missiles and almost being killed (and having moss tell him he respects him), he suddenly had a change of heart and decided to be a bad-guy again?!! It doesn't make any fucking sense......argh 24 writers, you were doing so well.....good luck writing yourselves out of this corner. -
Does he work for SPECTRE (or QUANTUM)?
-
holy shit.
tony -> emmerson -> logan.
calling it now. tony isn't working w/ hodges, it was a ploy for him to get his hands on it from the minute they raided the shipyard. the second jack called tony for help and told him where to meet him, tony looked suspect. -
I'm hoping there's more to it...
-
My days with that show are over.
-
When Jack called him about the shipyard meeting, he seemed really annoyed by it, like he knew about the shipment and didn't plan on jack figuring out where the shipment was coming in. So maybe he was working with bill and chloe to find out where the virus was being held, and then he figured it out during those 4 hours when he was off-screen. That would also help explain why he was so pissed at jack for saving that dock-security guard and starting a fire-fight. So I guess its possible he's been a bad guy from the start, but still this is so ridiculously convoluted.
-
...NO fucking sense, do we really expect his life after death to make any sense? I expected Tony to run for the sake of his own freedom and Jack to have to chase him, but his being utterly evil (and - sorry - suffocating Moss like that was EVIL, in spite of whatever equivocations y'all are spouting above) is just complete fucking bollocks and entirely preposterous. It's inconsistent with everything we've seen of Tony in season 7 and everything we've seen of Tony in the prior seasons. Prove me wrong, 24 writers.
-
...and suck the life out of him thus renewing Jack to full health and ready to torture with a Bic pen again for his country in season 8!
-
Bring back George Mason! I'll bet even in Jack's imagination and offers a token protest before shrugging and going along with Jack's plan.
-
If you look at one of the shots of Tony's hand on his mouth, you can see that he isn't gripping his mouth that tight. Moss recognizes that Tony isn't really trying to kill him and plays along.
Of course, that doesn't explain why the Starkwood guy trusts him on sight and seems very familiar with him.
But I can't believe Tony is truly bad. -
With Jack potentially having hallucinations, it could be a fun opportunity to do some cameos of dead characters for an episode or two, kind of like The First Evil in Buffy season 7.
-
Perfect way to bring back David Palmer again, if only for a single episode. Or Jack's wife, or Nina...
-
first assumption. tony has always wanted the bio weapon. Either when he was with Bill, or before, his motives were to secure it at any cost. For what, we dont know. We have to assume he couldnt follow thru on this with his own crew, and decided to use Bill and Chloe for intel since they were good CTU peeps.
So Jack finds out his "cover" but not his real cover, which is why Tony ended up letting Emerson live, off camera, so Emerson could go find out more details.
So Emerson or Eddie Winslow contacts Tony to let him know where the shipment will be coming in, but he needs to be able to secure it himself, so he uses Jack to go after it.
when jack and tony were together, tony didnt know he would get caught. he would have been okay with letting the security guy die and then taking the truck with jack, and having to either kill jack or kick him out the truck when he got them.
but jack threw a wrinkle in those plans and tony had to rely on his starkwood mole, eddie winslow. so at some point he contacts him and tells him that its up to him. since now they cant get the entire truck, he wants winslow to just smuggle a cannister or two out.
ok, so Tony definitely wants starkwoods bio weapons destroyed at this point since he cant get all of them. he doesnt want someone else to do damage to the country, because he has his own motives. So he wants the FBI to destory them. at this point, we have to assume Eddie Winslow already has pulled out one of the cannisters on his own and is looking for a way to get off base with it, and that Tony knows this.
So the weapons are destroyed and Winslow is quietly sneaking out when he gets detected. Tony is supposed to be out of the loop, and even if he was, Winslow still escapes.
So Tony's motives of getting control of the cannisters himself still holds up throughout the show. if he didnt have all of them, he at least needed a sample. the ends justified the means. the only questions are:
WHY does he need a bio weapon?
WHO is he working with/for?
HOW were Bill and Chloe involved? -
but he has always had his own agenda here people. getting revenge on President logan for killing his sweet ass wife is his main motivation here. i feel he has a deal made with someone that he gives them the gas they tell him where Logan is hiding that is what my gut says. Hodges is not done yet either i feel he will be out next week also. it was nice to see big tits bauer tonight someone talking a 3some earlyer got to add Claudia from season 3 to the mix also
-
that's really Tony? Muhhahhahhah!Kim's visit seemed pretty short, considering the time, distance, and "missed" opportunities. She looked ok for being "sloppy seconds" but Naked Mandy remains #1 in my book. I do agree that we won't get the real big bad reveal until the finale.
-
Tony slowly suffocating Moss instead just using a gun or knife made no sense - so I say Moss is still alive and Tony is working his way up the food chain to the big bad. Please no more episodes with Jack and Rack stuck in the office, it is getting tedious.
-
Didn't you guys watch next week's preview? It was OBVIOUS!
-
If Jon Voight keeps chewing scenery at his current rate, the last couple episodes are gonna take place on an empty soundstage. When he left the Oval Office, I noticed a lamp and a throw rug were missing.
-
Thank heavens the emotional centerpiece of the entire season fell on the capable shoulders of the great Elisha Cuthbert. Because any actress worth her salt will tell you that when you're playing someone who hasn't seen her father in years and now he's slowly dying before your eyes, the only way to play it is totally expressionless. Like you're talking to your optometrist. Someone send that tape to the Television archives.
-
therefore Tony was doing good. there's still a mole to be revealed in FBI, no?
-
Tony asked Moss if Jack was going to make it and when he found out he wasn't, he realized he needed to play the Jack role. He suffocated Moss to establish credibility with the guy who had the bioweapon. Did you see the way he raised his hand at the bad guy while he was suffocating Moss, as if to say, "I got this. I'm on your side." Tony re-moled. He's trying to find out who's behind it all. The guy with the canister was the same guy who left the truck to do the perimeter sweep when Tony was setting the charges, right? So some bad guy wanted to get the bio weapon and get Hodges out of the way as well.
Tony's not the big bad. In the end, he'll sacrifice himself for Jack to save the day. Although it is awful late to introduce a new character.... -
The final episode will be everyone peeling off masks to reveal they are Tony Todd clones...ever since Detective Morris from S3 reinvented himself as General Juma I've had my suspicions...
-
The FBI mole was Billy Walsh from Entourage. Doesn't mean there can't be another mole in the FBI but that would be weak. I think we have to accept that Tony is evil. You don't smother a wounded dude in cold blood and still be likable NO MATTER WHAT the end game is. right now I just understand what his motive is since he helped destroy the rockets. Obviously it must have to do with whatver Hodges was referring to when he said he was just a cog in it.
-
I agree. This is one instance where the writers "not having a plan, seeing how it plays out from week to week" unleashes complete dumbassery.
-
Big Bad is EDGAR. Faked his death in season 5 and now he and the Russians are going for the bio weapon. That other president is involved too, the one who got stabbed last season by his crazy bitch wife.
-
Called it weeks ago! XD And whats this about Logan being the big bad? Are you forgetting he got butch'd up and became a good guy in S6?
-
This series has had so many constant shocking twists and turns over the seasons that I'm really never that surprised anymore. I mean, you just shrug and go along with it. "Oh. So now Tony's bad again. OK..."
-
The thing is, everyone's shouting 'that doesn't make sense!!' - and I think you're wrong. See, the people he worked for (in this case, the gov't)/risked his life for, ended up taking away EVERYTHING he loved. Why does it seem so hard that this man would be hell-bent on revenge? Some people are really destructive in trying to do what they think is justice...to be honest, I see this ending as a big Batman/Joker finale as Tony seems to be the only one remotely in Jack's league--and obviously as Jack's had similar trials (re: his loved ones) I think we're to think that Tony is just slightly weaker and unable to make the choice to not go nuts on the country. Does that make sense?
-
1. Suffocate Agent Moss
2. ????
3. Profit! -
this time around rather than a little soulpatch? That's a dead giveaway folks...
-
Jonas told the president "you have no idea how far this goes." Obviously, it's an alien invasion. Tony was actually dead when we thought he was a few seasons ago, and this is just his evil alien clone. The head alien is the cougar that tried to eat Kim, although now he wears a spacesuit and helmet and speaks in a pompous British accent. Naked Mandy sits at his feet on the bridge of the mothership, wearing Leia's gold bikini outfit from "Return of the Jedi" (which I guess makes her Semi-Naked Mandy.)
-
Remember the episode where Jack and Bill leave to go to the White House and Tony says he has 'something else' to take care of? Followed by a lingering shot of him giving a menacing stare after Jack? Or the scene a few episodes later with Tony and Jack on steps where he breaks the news of another imminent attack.... followed by another lingering shot of him giving a menacing stare? Tony being bad has been signposted ALL season and it has been the writer's End Game ever since the writer's strike gave them more time to flesh out the season. And, as someone mentioned above, it also gave them more time to go back and re-shoot the last episodes as the producers didn't think they were up to scratch. The writer's know what they're doing. And I'm hoping for an epic double episode finale with Jack and Tony going apeshit at each other like Stallone and Banderas in The Specialist.

Wasn't there a giant scary company in the first two seasons?
by drewlicious
I distinctly remember at the end of season 2 that a big company was pulling the strings in order to take control of the oil supply of a couple of middle-eastern countries. I'm assuming this is the big machine Jonas is a part of, either that or their his competition. Either way, at least they're setting up a consistent mythology. To be honest deranged terrorists are scarier, its less of a paranoid fantasy and more of a reality.
-
I meant ASSASSINS. Fucking alcohol.....
-
Tony is still working for Emerson, who is still alive, and he's going to trade the bioweapon for the cure so he can save Jack. Nailed It.
-
Has the Cubs Mug put in cameo this season yet?
-
writers sittin around a table going "well, Jonas is behind bars, missles all 'sploded up, and we gots a few hours left to fill. Whadda we gonna do now to make people go 'WTF?'"It wasn't plausible that Tony could have planned to be on the scene like that, much less just him and Moss with the starkwood guy--if he is really even deeper undercover and trying to do some good, no reason to kill Moss. This smells like some lame-ass shit to set up a confrontation between Jack and Tony.Jack, btw, looked like he had an instant cure somehow in the previews for next week (i.e. One Hour Later). Kim's Stem Cells must be some fast-acting cure-alls.
-
He had the same "pump up my emmy reel footage" vibe as Olmos did with all the drunken, drooling scenes in BSG.
-
When you come back from the dead, you come back EVIL. There was no "wonder injection" that saved Tony, just an Indian burial ground!
-
That makes little sense and further pisses on the character of Tony. I was rooting for him, and thought that was a great episode. The twist was the worst thing about it.
-
No WAY that Kim would just walk away after a 2.3 minute encounter with Dying Daddy--we are to believe she had been looking for him for months (years), just missing him each time she got a new phone or address for him, had been trying to contact him all day long, without knowing he was infected, and then, after 2 minutes will just leave? Plot Device #57 "Gratuitous False Emotion Scene With No Story Value" from the 24 Writer's Manual, #57 directly attributed to Braga. The first 56 items in the manual are all about Moles.

Of course his motive to avenge Michelle makes sense. What does not make sense is the logistics of Tony's day as a whole. What sort of convoluted ridiculousness is this? At a certain point, triple-crossing or quadruple-crossing or whatever the hell is going on is not something that could feasibly be planned; it's just something you manufacture for the sake of a "plot." If you can explain Tony's plan to me that takes that into account, I'm all ears.
-
and they make zero sense: He planned to get a canister of the bioweapon, but he directly contributed to actions that should have destroyed all of it. Or, his buddy inside Starkwood calls him on the cell, says, Hey Soulpatch dude, I just happen to be holdin a canister here that was not in the 'splosion--what should I do with it, you think?""Oh, coolness, man! You kill some FBI guys, take their easily tracked SUV and run with it. I will get myself arrested, de-handcuffed, and in the helicopter that I know will find you first--we'll have a firefight in which you for sure won't get shot cuz Moss can't shoot well, and you'll shoot his ass. Then, when we are sure he is dead, you will run off with the canister which was just sittin on the backseat of the SUV, on the fire-fight side, because no way are we worried about any bullets hitting it, exposing both of us, because that would never happen, no way--not to US, maybe to Jack, but not to us. How great is this plan, do you think, man?!?!""Whatever."I was just starting to think the writer's had returned 24 back to goodness, if not greatness, even with all the moles and silly daughter-prez side stories. And then they pull this stunt.
-
I can't wait to see the explanation behind this one. Kinda sad that he isn't on the side of the angels here. Well we all know he's dead by the end of the season. For real this time.
-
Who gives a shit? Just enjoy the ride. Either that, or watch Heroes, and who wants to do that?

The Writers CAN'T make SoulPatch Mr. Real BAD-Man! That's what they did with Christopher Henderson for the finale in season 5! He just had turned out to be a good contribution for following seasons as some kind of pal for Jack. That's what they did with Pa Bauer! He just had turned out to be a good contribution for... well y' know. We CAN live with plot holes - we WAIT for tragic deaths to appears almost every second. We MAY argue over methods or ethics regarding Jack. But those JTS-Moments killed the suspense AND the quality of the last two seasons. And that's something the writers DO know! We (the audience) want BELIEVABLE finales of a great show that's called 24! Not just some fine minutes - even seconds - in between. That's why we possibly buy the DVD's! We want shows like 24 being made for the history books of TV! not some crap out finale twist just dripped from freshly inked fingers. The writers Do know this... don't they? I'm with Tony's made a horrible mistake by sacrificing Moss - but still works for the good - our's and Jack's - side.
-
I think the writers will make sense of the Tony thing. The black guy is probably the one who told Tony about the bioweapon in the first place. He needed help getting it out of Starkwood.
There's probably a bigger terrorist out there (think an Osama-type) who Tony knows is looking to buy the bioweapon. What's one dead FBI agent if Tony thinks he can take out one of the world's biggest bad guys? Besides, Moss was dead anyway. He'd been shot. He was unarmed, and he had a shotgun pointed at him. He was dead whether Tony killed him or he let the other guy do it. This is a classic Jack move--do the unthinkable to convince the bad guy you are on his side. Think back to earlier this season when Jack shot Rack. Lucky for Rack, Jack was able to get away with pretending to shoot her, but does anyone think he would not have shot her if that was the only way to avert a terrorist threat?
-
He was shot at close range multiple times by a shot gun. Tony just put him out of his misery early so Moss couldn't blow the whistle on him. Tony is still searching for the big baddie. Look at what Tony did earlier in the season with Emerson's crew. He wouldn't do that if he was totally bad. Besides, it looked like he really didn't want to get in that helicopter with Moss and chase the other guy because he knew he may have to take Moss out. I think the bioweapon is going to be exchanged for something, or it's to find out who's really behind all this.

Don't tell me robocop returns from the dead next week and is the real vilain.

No jokes, I have a serious "guess" as to what is up with Tony.
Tony is working for some big bad outside of Starkwood, someone who became aware of what they were up to. They wanted Starkwood shuit down and sole posession of their chemical weapon. So they bring in Tony. Tony is put in position to play the US Government against Starkwood so that Starkwood is taken out while Agent #2 escapes with the last tank of the chemical. If it went right Tony would not have had to really get his hands dirty but FBI guy goes all hero and Tony has to kill him.
But I don't think Tony is fully bad. I think the only allegiance he has at all is to Jack. That will be what saves and damns Jack. Tony will work some deal with his employer. They'll end up having a cure for the gas. Tony work things to get Jack cured. Jack lives but he lives knowing he owes his life to the bad guys, that his life comes at the expense of Larry Moss's life, giving Jack a new reason to despise his own life and for giving Racks Bauer a reason to hate him. -
Henderson may be. With the witness on the sub, it looked like a setup (since Bauer promised Henderson a way out). Logan is still alive based on an earlier conversation this season.
I honestly don't know what to make of what Tony did, and I'm not going to judge until an explanation comes. If the explanation sucks/is illogical, then I will criticize appropriately. If it works, though, it's not worth the energy to poo-pooh it now. -
I got the impression that he knew that the conspiracy was bigger than Hodges (like Hodges said to the president right before he was taken away), so he put himself undercover again by helping the black dude. Of course, he didn't have to kill Larry, just incapacitate him (it's what Jack would have done). He could still bring Larry back (3 minutes until brain damage), but would Larry be on board with going undercover after the black dude? Otherwise Tony has to escape and leave him unable to contact Jack for a while. Tony said "wait for my call", that could be after today (meaning next season).
-
Maybe he will come in to save the day at the last minute...
-
That was his own plan, huh? He had to buy time to get his own men access to the canister. Distracted both Starkwood and the government.
-
New CTU (including a new character heading it) with Chloe involved.
-
I must have a missed some episodes. Day 6 feels like ages ago.
-
I know, I know, I'm the last to realise it but damn, this is plotting by magic eightball.
-
In one of the many Season Six doofus moves.
-
The Vice President (again). Remember how he was so very reluctant to authorize force during Juma's White House siege?
I also have a feeling that Larry has not drawn his last breath.
Soul Patch still has an ace up his sleeve...possibly, as some have said, involving a cure for Jack (the stem cell treatment would just be too deus ex Jackina). -
The president, in rebuffing Hodges' demands, stated that "even the Vice President" doesn't have that level of clearance. Could it be that this fact was rankling the Veep?
-
Jack sits in traffic trying to get into the Lincoln Tunnel.
Bauer: "Dammit!!"
And obviously no one understands Tony's motives now. You aren't supposed to. They will explain, so wait a week. It may still be lame, but you don't know yet. -
After all the shit he has done, after putting his life on the line... and they STILL put his ass in cuffs and take him into custody?
At that point he feels he may never be free again if he allows Moss to take him to HQ.
Moss took a combat shotgun to the gut... he was dead.
Tony simply helped him die a little faster. He did him a favor.
-
CTU New York: 8 am to 9 am Jack sits in traffic trying to get into the Lincoln Tunnel. Some 80 year old lady in a car in front of him: "Dammit!!"
-
Genius. We have our new catch phrase.
-
If Jack gets amnesia will he have to torture himself to find out what he knows?
-
Starkwood Guy: 'You want me to blow up a load of FBI?'
Tony: 'Yeah. You got a problem with that?'
It's Tony Time! lol -
Tony's gone to the dark side of the Force. He's killed Moss, though I agree it was just to put him out of his misery. The guy he's working with just murdered at least three other federal agents. I'd love to see them try and explain exactly how he's still working for the good guys after what just happened.
-
hitting people with a shovel since season 4.
-
Freckles' excellent titties! Other than that, this is the longest, most convoluted, pointless day in 24 history
-
Only to be the Mastermind behind Season 10.
-
Now he turns back to evil and people bitch. I like how you can't make everybody happy when they do it. Yes, I got used to Tony being a part of Jack's badass crew and envisioned a Season 8 with Tony and Jack kicking ass again with terrorists, but I remember how cool it was the Evil Tony plot was when it started - and how cheap it felt when it was only 1 episode - so now he's BACK to Evil Tony and it's pretty sweet. THAT'S the dramatic conflict of the season, and frankly it should have been that all year, but it's a great twist to get us digging Tony again and then BAM! he's evil again. Awesome stuff. Does it defy some logic presented all season? Well, kinda. But I have two words for you: Nina Meyers. Same deal there and it still worked in the end. So, yeah, hate to see Tony go bad but love to watch him be Evil Tony. Screw Jon Voight, this is where the dramatic conflict is.
