Mike Judge's EXTRACT with Bateman, Kunis and Affleck gets a trailer!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. The good folks at Cinematical and the dastardly Drew McWeeny at Hitfix have gotten some kind of duo trailer debut of Mike Judge's next comedy. So far the dude's batting a thousand for me. Fox royally screwed the pooch with IDIOCRACY, but that flick is finding a second life on cable and DVD, thank God. OFFICE SPACE is universally loved it seems and BEAVIS & BUTT-HEAD DO AMERICA is still hilarious. In fact, by sheer coincidence Isaac Hayes' Two Cool Dudes (Main theme for the Beavis & Butt-head movie) was on the iTunes when I stumbled across ErikDavis' Twitter update containing the link to the trailer.
There's a lot of talent in front of the camera... I think Jason Bateman's a great match for Judge's sensibilities and the trailer made me laugh, so that's all I need... oh, and Kristen Wiig and Mila Kunis are pretty. That is all.
Cough up a lung at Cinematical or view the embed below courtesy of Hitfix! It's good for ya'!

Where did it go?
-
Might also enjoy this.
-
Apparently he can even persuade Kristen Wiig to actually be funny. And I don't want to come off like a dickblood here, but Judge > Apatow.
-
I can say that because I'm obviously asian
-
Am I the only one?
-
give me some more of that!!! this gives hope to comedy
-
... you know what to slide in. lol.
-
I quote that shit atleast once a day, mainly because it's the most prophetic movie ever, secondly if we can't laugh at the fact that that shit is actualy happening we are doomed.
-
That's the hardest I've laughed at a trailer since 10,000 BC.
Looks good. And nice to see Affleck back in front of the camera. -
I also want to be in and around Mila Kunis's mouth.
Strangely enough... Batemen too... weird...
Kidding aside, (I wasn't kidding), Bateman is perfect for a Mike Judge movie.
Any President Camacho in this, btw? -
was fucking hilarious. the smoke was coming out still on the second round of coughing. sign me up for this one.
-
Sorry. Love me some Office Space, King of the Hill, and Beavis and Butthead, but Idiocracy was fucking horrendous.
-
Kunis's hottest + Bateman's awesomeness X Judge's genius - Studio interference= Fricking Bitchin' flick!!!

The sweatpants... how hilariously true to life... I laughed all through that.
-
and idiocracy was brilliant take a look around...we are fucking living idiocracy
-
If this has anything near Judge's typical humor, it will disappear quickly at the box office and live forever as a rental. Always happy to see him make another film.
-
they should give him a special academy award
-
Ten million idiots on the Internet now think they have some sort of deep insight by referencing Idiocracy whenever something they think is stupid is reported.
-
Maybe they can get him to direct the upcoming Judge Dredd movie. Or better yet, he could direct a Pink Panther/Black Panther crossover! Clouseau goes to Wakanda? Huh? Anybody? Martin/Snipes team-up? Yeah, ok.
-
Looks funny as hell good casting.jk simmons rules
-
For serious.
-
gets whats going down. He's so smart, the corps don't know what to do with him. So they fuck up his shit. "Like, his shits all retarded and gay."

More on par with Office Space, and heads above Idiocracy

Didn't laugh...at all.

Yannowutimean?
-
I've always been a big fan of The Judge. I'm just now getting ready to watch Idiocracy for the first time. Not a huge fan of Luke Wilson, but I think it'll be rad.
-
Ben Affleck is in a movie that I actually want to see!
Is it the 90s again?
-
but it will still be funny
-
"CGI Bong smoke" Ya, you called that one, eagle eye. considering it wouldn't really be humanly possible for someone to inhale a lungful of air and blow smoke(at least without hurting themselves) it would pretty much have to be CG, wouldn't it? it's very charitable of you to still give it a chance, despite the ghey special effect smoke. I hate it when stuff is fake in the movies, don't you?
-
idiocracy was awesome. Some of my friends hated the hell out of it but i loved it.
-
come one who didnt laugh at the notion that if you spend your last dollar at taco bell they take custody of your children. Or that taco bell sells fries
-
... you haven't seen it. Or you need to see it again and then a second time after that. It's an amazing comedic accomplishment. Office Space ain't exactly shabby either.
-
Idiocracy was like a burrito filled with comedic genius, covered with retard sauce.
-
there were five people in the theater, two of which were myself and my friend. if it weren't for the "FOX doesn't want you to see this!"-style post on AICN, I never would have gone to see it. I own the dvd and make everyone I know and care about watch it. I can't wait 'til our money says "Haulin' Ass Gettin' Paid" on it.
-
The second coming of Affleck continues. Behold his awesomeness.

Idiocracy=not that great, with horrible cgi. Extract script=not
by copontheedge
Judge REALLY needs to pull some awesome improv on the set because this script did NOT have the funny on the page. And I'm a big Judge fan, even though I admit Idiocracy is nowhere near as great as most followers want to believe. Oh, and the entire plot of Extract hinges on Bateman hiring a gigolo named "Brad" to seduce his wife so he can have carte blanche to bang the jeebus out of Mila Kunis. Be good to see a trailer that shows that setup some day soon.
-
Blah.
-
Maybe the most overused song in movie trailers ever....
-
And Camacho has even invented the Austrian language recently!
-
you guys are losers.
-
Nothing brings just that right kind of friction to a dry hump like sweat pants.
-
It's basically Office Space + Nothing But Trouble + Futurama + The Day After.
-
That's a seriously awesome sight gag.
-
Has some of the best comic timing ever. And I don't think he ever ages, for some magical reason.
-
better than James Franco in Pinneaple Express, if you ask me. And cool to see Meg Griffin herself... Judge is a "must", as Parker & Stone, McFarlane, Groenig, Smith... I'm so there on this one.
-
I'm hoping that the comedy of this movie is in the details, like Office Space, and that the blandness of the trailer isn't a warning sign.

I know J.K. Simmons isn't a powerhouse name in this film
by shut the fuck up donny
but if he's in it, I'm probably going to see it. Aside from Spiderman 3, that man's got a pretty good track record for picking films.
-
...now i KNOW shit's bad right now. i know we're runnin' out of french fries, and burrito covers.
-
Any time a comedy gets reviewed we end up in the same arguements of what's funny and whats not funny. To me, Idiocracy is funny and extremely smart mainly because of the state of society today. Morons and shallow people are worshiped and adored by a large section of America, and it seems like the true ididots amongst us are having as many children as possible.
-
I loved Office Space, but I just found Idiocracy stupid and boring. I think the fact that it was directed by Mike Judge and is a movie that was so hyped by geek sites like this has convinced a lot of people that it is some kind of cult classic. I will give judge credit for coming up with an idea that seems to be coming true, but I thought the execution was lacking.
Maybe it is because I resent Dax Sheppard for nailing Kristen Bell everyday or something, but I don't get the popularity of the movie. -
do we have to wait until the fall to see this? there better be a bunch of that cgi smoke to justify the wait.
-
BUT, it was (to me) an immensely entertaining skewering of the glorification of stupidity, which is, indeed, prophetic. not that it took a genius to recognize it. First of all, Camacho was hilarious, throughout. Hell, i can't STAND Dax Shephard, but even he was funny. To me, the real weak link was Mya Rudolph. even though she definitely represented a giant part of our cultural meltdown, she just really annoyed me, especially in the completely unnecessary "emotional" scenes with Luke Wilson. and, of course, Beef Supreme was brilliant.
-
a bit of a misfire, yes...but an accurate (and funny in a sad cuse it's true way) vision of our future too. prove me wrong future, prove me wrong.
-
It had 4 things I love, the song "Free Ride", Jason Bateman, Mila Kunis, and JK Simmons. I'm so there.
-
the first time I saw it, but it definitely appreciates with multiple viewings. I find Maya Rudolph generally unfunny, but that Upgrayedd stuff is hilarious. Also, Terry Crews is amazing.
-
looks so similar to something I've written that it hurts. Looks more "Office Space" than "Idiocracy" and that's a good thing. The humor looks subtler than the Apatow stuff we've been getting and the casting looks perfect (J.K. Simmons is the new Gary Cole).
-
Terry Crews, for example. But overall, I found myself asking "This is what I waited for?"

...don't even come near the hell that is known as England. Or, as some have it, Northern France. Compared to it, the dumbest place in the US that you could find would look like Plato's university. This is modern England and a fine example of its idols and role models:

When I heard Affleck was cast I figured he was the lead and the film was doomed. Glad to see he's a supporting character and he actually looks good.

What a nightmare that would be...

So where is this wagon going?

I may be the only one, there were four people in each screening here in LA for both. (maybe the same four?) anyway if you judge a comedy based on how often you quote it and laugh, then those two movies based on that judgement are the best. I'm so there opening day for this.
-
... for complaining about awful cgi in Idiocracy. Yeah, and the framework of the story is kinda lame too but it makes possible some of the best social satire in recent memory. And the image of that rubber phallus mounted to the front of the car at the end makes me giggle like Beavis. If you haters can't find the humor in this movie, maybe you need to make a trip to Starbucks and get loosened up.
BTW I'm sure someone has made this connection by now, but I saw some of the documentary 'American Pimp' a few months ago. The camera is capturing the pimp driver(it may have been Don Magic Juan)as he is describes his views on the pimp profession, when he pauses and points at a pedestrian as they pass, and he calls him UPGRADE, one of his competitors. Must be where Judge got the name Upgrayyed. -
let me bone mila kunis
