The Brit article those photo's came from or are related too was about how fit Stallone is at 62. Well if I had his money I could afford the good steroids and plastic surgery too.
Anyway the funniest part was them talking about Stallone doing some stunts like jumping in the water. I believe one of the lines was Stallone can jump in the water with the best of them.
I guess his penis enhancement surgery never made the grade with Bridgitte. -

Way to go Mr. Stallone! You are going to have the most awaited action film in 2010 with THE EXPENDABLES! You make Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson look like a bunch of pussy ass mother fuckers. You are a ripped tank ready to show the world once again there is NO ONE that matches you in the action genre right now. Not to knock your pal Jason Statham, but you even make him look like a small little man next to you. THE EXPENDABLES is going to be CON AIR times 10 in macho shit and box-office grosses. Once again Mr. Stallone, I must stress that you "must" give ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER some decent screen time scattered throughout the film. Even if Arnie shoots for 2 days, why not make the most of it and even if it's 5-10 minutes of screen time, scatter his scenes all over the film so he shows up here and there so his presence is felt. Make Schwarzenegger's role iconic with guns, bad ass lines and Arnie looking as pumped as you. STALLONE + SCHWARZENEGGER is what will sell THE EXPENDABLES all over the worldwide box-office.

help but think that if someone else made that movie today they would have CGId the ribs breaking in the meat locker. It is too hard for Hollywood to come up with good screenplays and filming today without using CGI. Look at Charlton Heston in Ben-Hur. Today they would have CGId the whole chariot race. Chuck actually learned to drive a chariot, proving that he's a real man, and most action actors today are pale immitations.

Please don't use CGI in this movie and ruin it! CGI does not "enhance the storytelling" it's just a terrible tool that film makers use when they are lazy. CGI will forever look like shit. I loved Rambo but it was obvious CGI was used. Please please please! NO CGI! I haven't seen a good old school action film with no CGI in...forever.

I read in many placed he used HGH, which is not the same as Steroids. Yes, they are considered "performance enhancing drugs" and are generally frowned upon in the sports world, but HGH is legal to purchase, so Sly was within his rights.

As far as I know, none was used in Rambo. And that was pure hardcore actioning from just himself. With the cast he's got, and the massive balls each actor possesses, I doubt they would tolerate being CGI'd.
ABking is partly right - not only will The Expendables own 2010, it will own the decade and the genre for time immemorial. The only thing greater will be Christian Bale's movies. -

They're supercolorful and his artwork is usually very colorful. Anywho this is the stuff that rolls around in my head. I'm also wondering why most of these shots are paparazzi shots. Does the publicist lady not have a camera? I was expecting stuff like this in the tweets but so far it's been verbal tidbits. At least a photo to go with the interviews and stuff. Pretty please. :D

While I seriously hope that The Expandables will be as old school as possible, people should stop blaming CGI for everything. Yes, when it's done wrong, it can ruin a scene or even a whole movie (But this applies to everything, from acting, over cinematography to stuntwork and "handmade" special effects), but when it's done right, you don't even notice it! That's the reason why CGI has such a bad reputation: People don't notice the good CGI work so they think there never was some!
Anyway, please Sly, give us the old school action movie that you promised us! -

I'm pretty sure there were some cgi touch ups to the scene where Rambo cuts the general MOSTLY in half near the end. Also, the mushroom cloud explosion I'm almost positive had some elements to it. It's been awhile. I might have to have a beer and watch Rambo again after graduation... yeah... that would be nice. Oh right! Homework! Later!

The extended pinky in the first picture made me laugh. I love everything about this except Stone Cold. I hope his scenes get cut and don't even make it to the DVD / BluRay. My only hope is he's rarely credited when The Expendables is mentioned. Also, anyone remember The Expendables books? Does this have any inspiration from that?

I stated in my headline "only a tiny bit" of CGI was used in RAMBO. READ BEFORE TYPING!!! And to CherryValance, TRUE LIES is one of the GREATEST ACTION FILMS EVER...I expect the same from THE EXPENDABLES. Sly is up there with CAMERON and SPIELBERG. Although BAY is good at action, that HACK can learn a lesson or two from SLY!

About this AND T4....think about the kick ass action films from years ago...The Dirty Dozen, Where Eagles Dare, hell, the Indiana Jones series, the Bonds, the Bournes..Yes all the Rambos were R rated, but maybe thats not the direction Stallone wants to go in. We definately know he can deliver a hard R. Action films DID exist before the ratings system.

Cliffhanger is ok, but John Lithgow is one of the best movie villains ever in it. Even as a kid, I knew he was eventually going to kill his female lieutenant. And it was so awesome when he did.

All of the best 80's action movies are a hard R (with Top Gun and Raiders being the only exceptions) This movie needs to be balls out awesomeness where anything can happen. With PG-13, you're shackled since we know you can only go so far with the violence. Lets get one thing straight here..ARNOLD is not in as bad a shape as some of you would believe. Those photos that some idiot keeps reposting are old and some were photoshopped. More recent pics of Arnold on the beach came out several months ago and he looks good for a man who is not an action star at the moment, but a governor. Over the hill? PLEASE!!! As for CLIFFHANGER...that movie is one of the BEST ACTION SPECTACULARS ever made!!! The action, the stunts, the cinematography, the score, the bad guys and the special effects were 100% TOP NOTCH! CLIFFHANGER is a movie that was nominated (Best Special Effects, Sound effects and sound effects editing) for the seemless effects it had. If THE EXPENDABLES is gonna use CGI...please do it the way CLIFFHANGER did! As well as the way CLIFFHANGER did the trailers...those trailers KICKED FUCKING ASS!

... how about some old-school, blood packs hidden under the clothes? In the 80s and 90s, blood looked real. Nowadays it's the same CGI bloodspray crap that doesn't look real one bit (Unrated DH4 anyone?). And even in JOHN RAMBO... it was obvious the blood in the final battle was all CGI. It was spectacular, but still looked pretty fake at times.

to expand sets and to blend matte lines, unlike nowadays where every inch of the screen is digital, with a virtual stuntman doing the stuntwork. Sorry to see Renny Harlin given B-movie assignments like the latest WWE movie with "actor" John Cena. Say DH2 was the weakest of the series if you must, but, I watched it recently and its still damned entertaining.As far as digital effects on a low budget, I'm still amazed that The Descent was mostly shot on set.

He said IF he was in T4, it'd be a very brief cameo. He didn't want the film to be sold on his name. Same for The Expendables, he mentioned something like he is walking out of a building and he and Sly run into each other, or something like that. It'd be a day of shoot. Just one scene. Unless Sly manages to convince him...

Honestly, I've always preferred Arnie's movies to Sly's. There are several Sly films that I love-Demolition Man, Tango & Cash among others-but Arnie's movies are so much fun. Well, other than the last five or six. It looks like Sly's about to flip the script on me tho. Beetle Out.

If it turns out as hoped, The Expendables will be a perfect melding of Predator and Rambo. Sly leads a team of mercenaries to assasinate an evil dictator in South America. Action ensues.

I know this puts me in the minority, but there was nothing memorable about the last Rambo. And I dig Rambo, everyone likes first blood, and I dig the second and third a bunch too, they were great, big, fun spectacle, but the 4th was just lazy, there was no energy to it. We just got a lot of violence and blood instead of any decent gripping action, it was mostly watching guys shoot and watching other guys fall down. I will say the best part of that movie was the mercenaries, and since this film is all about mercenaries, that's already a plus. I just hope we get some decent action with these guys, instead of just watching an army of guys running into bullets. And ohyeah, holy shit Stallone looks ripped, no wonder he's been praising HGH (though I don't care what you take, HGH, steroids, etc, to get your body into that kind of shape, especially at 60, takes an extraordinary amount of effort and discipline).
