April 2, 2009, 5:59 p.m. CST
Except for that one still shot from "Fairly-Odd Parents." Wicked cool!
April 2, 2009, 6 p.m. CST
thanks Harry for the heads up! are there any other great deals your keeping from us! just set it, and forget it!<p> you fucking whore.

If that picture doesn't get a "huh?" out of you, then good for you.<p> It took me a minute to take it all in. The "first" thing has never impressed me. You should be thanking me for not typing that, the way all the morons do.
April 2, 2009, 6:02 p.m. CST
I consider it advertising. <P> There's a place for that: it's all up along the sides and around this sit, they're called pop-ups and banners. <P> Why do the articles themselves have to be advertisements.

while Harry is busy selling stuff, Yahoo news has an article about ALL the transformers featured in that new movie.
April 2, 2009, 6:18 p.m. CST
How do I profit from this? I have no stake in the gallery or any of the art. I bought one for myself - and I found something that I wanted for myself, while noting that the pop-culture nature of the artwork - that people that come to Ain't It Cool News may in fact be as amused and interested in the artwork to look at or purchase - and I don't see so much as a percentage. Hmmmm...

Just recently been watching old eps online and what a brilliant show. I don't know, Dr. DirtyD, anything related to quality like the Twilight Zone is cooler to me than whatever rat shit Michael Bay is doing now (it's all pretty interchangeable rat shit - and yes, that does include the first Transformers, aka rat shit).
April 2, 2009, 6:22 p.m. CST
Ill be sure to give my PLANT review later

Doesn't cost a cent to look
April 2, 2009, 6:31 p.m. CST
Is awesome! So many good shows in there, although Urkel is likely to give me nightmares (because of how scary that pic is, and because now I remember Urkel).
April 2, 2009, 6:32 p.m. CST
Harry's fucking sight. He can post pictures of this afternoon's BM if he wants. Because it's his site.
April 2, 2009, 6:39 p.m. CST
C'mon intellectual property lawyers...let him have it!
April 2, 2009, 6:43 p.m. CST
is cooler news than Jetfire looking like Macross in the next Transformers movie. So get off Harry's back.

Nothing on their website seems to indicate they has licensing agreements with any of these properties. They may have them, but then again, they might not.
April 2, 2009, 7:52 p.m. CST
Maybe you do since it's clear that the studio's have been handing you envelopes of cash since you started this fucking site but the rest of us plebs have little things to pay for like, say, rent, food, phone, internet, car insurance, gas, school, textbooks, you know, all that shit you avoided by becoming Hollywood’s tubby little bitch. I hope you fucking choke the next time your beard fills your trough with Twinkies.
April 2, 2009, 8:03 p.m. CST
The Twilight Zone is under appreciated. BEST. SHOW. EVER.
April 2, 2009, 8:18 p.m. CST
Just saying... <P> $400, Really? <P> Print it out and trace over it, show it to the ladies so they can see the cock noses and think your like a deep artist or something, + you save you some bill spending money.
April 2, 2009, 8:25 p.m. CST
What the hey? Some folks need to calm down. Who said you had to buy anything? Yes, they art is for same but you can also just look for the love of Mike. Like an online walk through a trippy pop art gallery. If someone took you to an art gallery in real life, would you get into a snit over the fact that the art was for sale or yell at your friend that you had no money to buy anything. No. Unless you're an ass. You'd walk around and enjoy checking out the art.

its hard to tell what he's been payed for and what he hasn't. thanks to his long history of ads diguised as stories, bluray/HDDVD pushing, and positive reviews in return for access, the opinions and integrity of this site is worth exactly jack shit.
April 2, 2009, 9:05 p.m. CST
You know - people like you cause the most laughs I get. The only ADS as STORIES that I see anything at all from are the DVD column - and I'm very upfront about it. In America - there's no harm in making a disclosed profit. <BR><BR>BluRay and HD-DVD never have paid me a dime to promote their brands - I do so because they are superior products with which to watch film at home. That's not up for debate, they're the best. Far better than HD cable. <BR><BR>And as for "Positive reviews for access" - There is no statements or deals that any site that I know of makes that works in this manner. Studios grant access to sets, actors, talent, etc - because when you write those articles in advance of a film's release... the set visits are almost always positive, because at that point - the work you see is limited and always looks good. By the time you can see a film - that's the end of it all. The only "DEAL" that any reviewer makes with studios is if the studio shows you the movie early - and you like/love the movie, you can write or review that film instantly - but if you hate it or dislike it - you can review the film the day of release, like regular reviewers. This has been the "rule" going back pretty much forever. Ebert, Kael and many others have all agreed to this same policy. <BR><BR>Feel free to be a doubting Thomas - that's fine, if our positions were reversed I'd probably call you a shill if I didn't know you. <BR><BR>My money doesn't come from Studios saying, "Love this or else" - it comes from Ad revenue on AICN - which comes from a third party ad firm. And a 9000 acre ranch I have in North Texas. And that's a fact.
April 2, 2009, 9:26 p.m. CST
are you really surprised a few bitter people feel the need to bitch that you showed us an awesome art gallery? <br><br>you should even bother defending yourself. its not like the whiney bunch are going to all of a sudden say.."hey you're right, i was wrong." <br><br>anyway, if i won the lottery i think i would buy almost every piece for my gallery. (this is, of course, after i win the lottery.) <br><br>as it is, i think i may buy the second small wonder print. (although both are cool) it's only $30 for an awesome image of her destroying a suburb. <br><br>after that, i think i would save up for the 'it's always sunny in Philadelphia' one
April 2, 2009, 9:26 p.m. CST
you "shouldnt" bother defending yourself.
April 2, 2009, 10:35 p.m. CST
His site sucks ass anyway. The only reason I come here is to read the Talkbacks. I totally ignore the articles (I am a GIGANTIC film buff however I prefer many other far superior sites for REAL news)I swear to god the Talkbacks are funnier than watching Bumfights on Youtube! AICN is the Trash TV of film fan sites! The drama that plays out in TB's is so addictive! And all the while ignorant Harry Knowles honestly thinks we all come here for his "cool news". Guess what moron? nobody cares about the new painting or whatever that your buying, we just come here to ridicule you, your friends, and your poseur wife. Oh, and hows the weight loss going? Total failure? yeah, I thought so.
April 2, 2009, 10:40 p.m. CST
This site used to be great back in the days when AICN used to post all sorts of tidbits of great info and early reviews. Now Knowles and Co. can’t be bothered to update the fucking site on a regular basis, they actually subject themselves to embargo’s in the case of Watchmen and every other post is about shit that we should buy through this site which is now saturated with advertisements. Harry has become exactly like those lapdog stenographers who sat in the White House press room for the 7 years after 9/11 and took it in the ass from Bushco. because they were afraid of losing their access. Not that Harry ever had an integrity in the first place, I mean, Christ you can go back to 98 and see how he took Armageddon and Godzilla in both pipes because the studio’s threw him some attention and pwesants i.e. payoffs in the form of tickets/free trips to the premieres and freebies. But the studios aren’t that accommodating now are they Knowles? They know that sites like AICN and CHUD represent only a small fraction of the movie going audience and only stoop to waste their time with you when they have geek heavy properties like Watchmen who don’t have much traction in the mainstream. But I’m betting that Knowles isn’t getting as much attention from the studio’s to promote this summers top films like Harry Potter, Transformers, Star Trek, Terminator, G.I. Joe ain’t that right Harry? They show you a sliver of footage, let you speak to the Directors/Writers for five minutes and will send an early print to Austin which is all they need to butter up Jabba the Knowles to get a full on sloppy blowjob from AICN. They’re on to your game and know how to play you. About the only thing Harry knows how to do anymore is ban people. Fuck knows he ain’t delivering any cool news these days.
April 2, 2009, 10:53 p.m. CST
sure, if harry just got back from a studio paid trip from Miami, then told us all that "weekend at bernies 3: a whole new corpse" was a groundbreaking laugh riot.. then yeah, rip him a new one. <br><br>but whats the point of freaking out over a tiny post about some cool art that is related to Television. maybe you think its shilling, or not interested, but i fucking was. i spent a good 30 minutes looking over all the paintings that i found enjoyable. DONE. end of story. no one got hurt. anybody who didnt care could have just skipped the link.

any long time reader knows you post what you post unashamedly, unapologetically. but brass tacks: no real scoops here in a long time. merrick is an awfully out of his depth writer who has no voice, wit, or even posts anything that relevant other than recycled news. the real lifeblood of the site has sadly become talkback. we're missing eloquent, passionate writing about geek love, and it's been awhile since you had a set visit that really felt like something you couldn't get anywhere else. i've been here forever, i read this site every day, but honestly lately it's getting weird. i'm not saying you're shilling at all, but there's strange mixed messages, weird posts that don't feel pertinent, and the lifeblood has become talkback, which is fuelled on anonymous powergrabs.

April 3, 2009, 3:12 a.m. CST
but isn't this akin to downloading a movie, or stealing IP? Fair use, maybe, but they are intending on making money from it...

No matter what you do. It's because they secretly lust for you and wish you were a man-whore, so one day they could earn enough to pay you for your sweet loving.<BR><br>That's what it's all about with these folks, and everybody knows it.<br><Br> BTW, don't get on the ship. To Serve Man? It's a cookbook.
April 3, 2009, 4:41 a.m. CST
well - my buds that make movies make awesome ones.
i think that's awesome. would like to see more by that artist. that episode was dope too.
April 3, 2009, 6:30 a.m. CST
Harry can be a sellout or not, but that art is pretty sweet and i thank him for showing it to us. I specially like the Saved by the Bell one with Screech going all columbine on his mates, i pissed my pants!, its weird cause i downloaded the first 3 seasons recently and i´ve been laughing my ass off watching those stoned out of my mind, how could we look up to those guys!!! hahaha slater???

April 3, 2009, 7:04 a.m. CST
I don't care. It's about stories that are product advertisements, instead of movies and TV reviews, news and scoops. You don't have to post something everyday.
April 3, 2009, 7:14 a.m. CST
Huh. That Urkel was pretty intense. I'm sure some father-hating Goth chick's going to get that tattooed on her arm somewhere so people can walk by and say, "Oh, Jeezus...you've got really horrible psoriasis on your shoulder...OH WAIT it's Urkel. I guess that's better."
April 3, 2009, 8:04 a.m. CST
i especally liked the 8-bit rendering of Screech killing his Bayside friends. And the Macguyver figure. awesome post!

Not at all biased, just like this site nowadays. Oh, that was extreme sarcasm by the way. <p></p> "In America - there's no harm in making a disclosed profit." It's too bad that you don't review these DVDs as much as provide a huge page of links to Amazon.com where sometimes you make money off of movies you've either never seen or couldn't bother to write more than a one-sentence review about. Let's not kid ourselves here that this site is motivated first and foremost by profit and not any kind of love of the medium. Not to say that you don't love the medium because you obviously do, but this site is merely a way for you to make money without much of a care for exclusives and other substantial content.
April 3, 2009, 1:02 p.m. CST
Nope, but they obviously send you free products. How many players and discs have you received? Not saying there isn't anything wrong with that, but those are players and discs that you did NOT have to buy since they were sent to you. Thousands of dollars in your pocket instead of spent on those products.
April 3, 2009, 5:11 p.m. CST
That's steep for a Ren and Stimpy style piece.

There are no copyright issues when it comes to works of art displayed in gallery settings or sold as an individual piece. Thank Warhol for helping to open that door for us!

finish that thought:<p>"and even when they don't, i write gushing reviews of their movies anyway, because I dont care what my word is worth." <p>"and the directors that won't talk to me? chances are very high I won't like your film at all." <p> there is more than one form of access, and you'll do anything for it, even sell-out.
April 4, 2009, 8:31 p.m. CST
Where the fuck else can a man express hisself, give a link for some cool artwork and then get lambasted by a bunch of shit slingers, and still allow their shit to be posted??!!?? fuckin' AICN, that's where! BTW, yeah, it's overpriced.
