M Night is shooting THE LAST AIRBENDER

Hey folks, Harry here... I've really no idea what M Night Shyamalan is going to turn THE LAST AIRBENDER into, but whatever it is - it's actually shooting atop Mount Penn! The area's READING EAGLE seems to have been given a certain degree of access and as a result we have the first report on the making of the film with pictures! So if you care about this project - this is the first chance to get excited or discouraged... depends on your point of view...

Bad filmmaker makes film of overrated cartoon.

    by DerLanghaarige

I smell Oscars.<br> But at least I gotta give Shyamalan that a.) while his scripts began to suck harder with every movie, hedefinitely has some talent as a director, and b.)this doesn't seem to be your typical Shyamalan movie, so it will be at least an itneresting project to follow.

    by BCfreeB

    M. Night is desperately seeking success at this point. He KIND OF was with The Happening, but that one backfired (even though he made it what Im sure he thought was a "conventional thriller") He's just gotten more and more out of touch with reality, film, and his fan base. But Unbreakable was pretty great.

The cartoon was surprisingly good, and I still think M Knight is massively talented. The problem is he is also massively flawed. If circumstances conspire to negate those flaws (such as having a good screenplay), he has a shot at turning out a great movie.<p> His failures are more interesting than Michael Bay's greatest successes.

    "Cast all caucasians as asians."

    by Toonol

I don't think he did. Yes, he cast Caucasians. I don't think he cast them as Asians. He cast them as residents of another world, with no Asia or Europe. I'm not sure the ethnicity of the cartoon characters is clearly set. Yes, the FANTASY SETTING draws heavily on Eastern culture, but that doesn't necessarily dictate the characters' genetics.

Whether you like the movie or not, this scene was NOT supposed to be taken seriously. I heard the same criticisms of Unbreakable when the kid pulls the gun on Bruce Willis. Really Hideous Racism

    by ThusSpakeSpymunk

I'm amazed that nobody has remarked about the awful racism on display in the casting of the leads for this show. Boo Boo Stewart would be a fantastic Aang, knows martial arts and can act. And he's the right age to play Aang. And he's got Asian features. But M. Night, the self-professed rule-breaking visionary, goes the exact way of all Hollywood executive douches and casts an entirely all-white cast of near-twenties playing teens. Go suck an egg, M. Night.

It's a great movie. There's a simple elegance to it that's really been missing from anything Shyamalan has done since (I haven't actually seen his last two but it seems I'm not missing much). Oversensitivity...where you pretty much arent allowed to say anything anymore. <BR><BR> But with that said, this trend of casting caucasians to play asian roles is kinda iffy I think. Like that movie based off the true story off those college kids gambling...where in real life it was comprised of mostly asians (I read), and when it came to the movie version the main character and most were white. And now Goku from dragonball is white. Thats kinda....I dunno...wrong in some way....I havent thought it enough maybe, but the gut reaction is that its iffy.

begin writing their reviews before the film is even out. I think Shyamalan's films can be awkward and stilted sometimes, but that seems to be something he's working through as he tries more ambitious subject matter. Oh, and people, the conversation with the plant in The Happening was played as a joke. When you look hard for a bad movie in what you're watching, what else will you find?

    by Amy Chasing

The boredom I felt while watching it was. It arguably wasn't particularly interesting or entertaining; the actors didn't seem to know what to portray; is it meant to be taken seriously or a farce? What's worse is that bottom-line, the audience couldn't care less about it one way or the other in the end. Whatever that film set out to achieve, it failed.

The "M" in Shyamalan's names stands for monotonous.

    by Leafar the Lost

I loved M Night Shyamalan's "The Sixth Sense". I liked his next movies "Unbreakbale" and "Signs". Then, it started to fall apart with "The Village" and "Lady in the Water". The final nail in his career coffin should have been "The Happening". I don't know anything about how they do deals in Hollywood, but I am guessing that he had a contract to do "The Last Airbender" long before "The Happening" was shown in theaters. If Shyamalan does this movie that same way he has done his last three, then I am prepared for an epic disaster. I really liked the Avatar cartoon, and I thought that it was one of the better ones out there. It had a good three seasons, and the ending was an epic battle with the Firelord. However, I think that Shyamalan was the wrong choice to direct this. Basically, the Avatar show was a lighthearted, fanatsy cartoon with a little drama and some good fight scenes and no deaths. This really needed a director like Michael Bay. There really wasn't some deep, psychological subtext to the Avatar, and from some of the interviews I have read, it looks like Shyamalan is going in the wrong direction with his vision of this movie. I am prepared for an epic fail...

    Why It's Racist

    by ThusSpakeSpymunk

The reason the racism is especially galling is that we all know this is based on a show primarily for kids, of all races - and we can easily see that the reason the casting went the way it went was because the executives in Hollywood WOULD NEVER ALLOW a movie featuring non-white heroes to be prominently displayed. Heroes in Hollywood are either white if the movie is serious or black if the movie is meant to exploit the black marketplace. It's hideous. It's racism. It's ugly and wrong, but in this case it's especially bad because this is a show featuring Asian / Mongolian characters (albiet through a lens of a fantasy world) and when push came to shove they didn't have the guts to cast the chracters as they ought to be cast - Asian/Mongolian - and instead made an entirely-white cast that REALLY pisses off those of us who don't fit the mold of white America.

    your comparisons

    by sokitome

Morgoth, Your attempt to belittle the protest of this movie with comparisons of Godzilla, Letters from Iwo Jima, and Magnificent Seven. None of those movies attempted to have Caucasians playing distinct Asian Characters. These Characters are immersed in Asian clothing, mythology, writing, and cultures. They may appear caucasian to ignorant asses like "FeralAngel" but have been acknowledged Asian by their creators. M night did not change the names or the settings but just rather the races. None of the movies you mentioned did this. They completely changed the setting and characters, with exception of Iwo Jima. For your comparison to be valid Clint Eastwood would had to have Kevin Costner play the Watanabe role. If I were just one person protesting this movie then I believe I could be considered a whack job. The reality is Fans, The East West Players, and MANAA all have denounced this movie and what it is doing to the image of Asian Americans in media. That is why I believe your comparisons and attempt at sarcasm are ridiculous and stupid. P.S. You're right I am an asshole.

    by morGoth

Did you ever contemplate for a moment that I made "stupid" examples to illustrate how hyper thin-skinned people like you are? By that I mean pulling up the "racist" card at the drop of a hat. It's become so widespread and politically correct that it's just a mindless thing that people jump to conclusions over. Of course the examples were stupid, that’s the point. Do you honestly think I didn’t know the Japanese were merely defending Iwo Jima, part of their homeland, instead of the other way around? Sheesh, OK, you don’t find my humor funny but you’re the clueless one here. Maybe pulling that stick out of your obviously micro-diameter sphincter would help.<p>No sport, Clint would’ve cast Kazunari Ninomiya as “Iggy” in Flags. But then those were true-life characters and this subject concerns, at the source, a cartoon, yes? Are you picking up my drift? At any rate, those were two movies that were originally Japanese productions, remade and cast with Caucasians…get it? How racist!! Where were the protests then and now? Lawks, Godzilla was even moved to the US…horrors! There will always be some group getting their respective noses out of whack over, at times, perceived (and real, of course) racial slights. That doesn’t necessarily mean there was actual racial intent on anybody’s part though. Yeah, parbly stoopid examples of my typically stoopid humor...happy now?<p>But, please, keep implying that the dark-skinned Indian-American M. Knight is a racist (But, oh my, that would be impossible, yes?). Has anyone talked to the entities making the casting decisions? Is it M. Knight?<p>I notice you didn’t say anything about another poster referring to this move as “whitewashed” or another using the term “whitebread.” But that’s quite OK for you, because unlike the vast majority of people on this very planet, I’m sure there’s not a shred of racism in your body.<p>I have to ask then, are you proud that you’re an admitted asshole? That’s not exactly a desirable character trait to carry around in life but you may do as you please, obvously.

Everyone in the Avatar cartoon looked White not Asian!

    by Leafar the Lost

It isn't Hollywood's fault that all of the characters on Avatar looked like white people dressed in Japanese clothing. Night decided to cast a bunch of Asian people to fill the roles of white looking people.

    by wixmmm

if you demand so many asian-movie stars, then watch real, epic and beautiful to look at movies like Hero or House of Flying Daggers or tons of other fantastic movies from overseas. Do they cast white people in Bollywood? Do they cast white people in Asian movies? Airbender was an american show and had american voices and the only thing asian about it was its anime influence and the shade of the characters skin tones... demand asians for Cowboy Bebop or other asian-made anime... but just because airbender had a plot like an anime doesn't mean the characters need to be asian. Its an american show, with american voices so get over yourself. if you want asian stars and heroes then do your homework and go out and watch them, instead of complaining about racism because of casting... and yes, people of all enthnicities are 'american' so don't think by american i mean white... what i mean is an american show developed into an american movie has no obligation to cast stars of non-white ethnicities... it has an asian anime influence... there is SOOO much asian material out there, be it movies, tv or anime... this is one movie... if you so passionatly want asian heroes that do justice to asian media, then watch asian media. Hero and House of Flying Daggers are masterpieces of cinema that destroy Hollywood in virtually every way--beautiful color/cinematography, an EPIC AND I MEAN EPIC story, complex characters, situations and dialouge, insane action scenes with the actual ACTORS doing the fights which aren't the trademark mtv-generation'se use of quick cutting to mask a shitty moviestar s fighting and stunt incompetance, and (above all) ORIGINALITY--they don't have to rip off or reimagine every book or comic or old and now dated movie for ideas ... and a little tiny fact that the anime selection at barnes and noble is like 3x as big as the american comics.

and i wasn't going to say it:

    by wixmmm

I wasn't going to say it, afraid of the fury that would ensue, but since Leafar the Lost just said it, i'll back him up-- The characters in Airbender were in no way distinctly asian. The show had an asian INFLUENCE, but you absolutely cannot tell me why those characters look asian without making a kind of racist statement yourself (about asian features). And the voices are american, and you cannot distinguish any particular ethnicity because americans of all ethnicities (except for the recently immigrated) have the same accent, and there is no room for debate on that.

    MOrgoth and WIXMMM

    by sokitome

I'd rather be an asshole than a moron like you. You still don't get it. The context of the story and characters and what M Night is doing is the crux of it being racist. Your idiotic examples are nothing more than transplanting Asian stories to American cities or Caucasian settings. HELL, that is still better than the crap these producers are doing. JUST BECAUSE people complain of racism doesn't make them overly PC ASSHOLE! Some shit is about RACIST Attitudes, and this practice yellowfacing Asians has been going on for DECADES. Just look at this other idiot WIXMM who says just because there are ASIANS in movies in ASia it's ok to put white people in AMERICAN made movies as Asians. Ummm HELLO. Asians are Americans too so are native americans. Your blanket statement of the country being overly PC implies this country has solved all its race issues which is the furthest thing from the point. PLUS it is just a CARTOON and aimed toward kids which makes it even MORE DAMAGING. Children's views toward the world have not be formed yet. Unfortunately movies is where they first learn race roles and such. I'm sick of HOllywood placing Asians in the background, even when the roles are supposed to be ASians. If this movie was about African mythology we wouldn't be having this conversation. Your idiocy astounds me as you think it is ok since every one is a little racists then a movie can alienate an entire race. How old are you 16? 17? My guess is not that old considering your ignorance on race issues, history, and logic.

  • April 3, 2009, 6:12 p.m. CST

    by sokitome

there are a ton of dvd extras and interviews with the creators of the show and executives from Nick that completely contradict your ignorant statement.

  • April 3, 2009, 6:59 p.m. CST

    by wixmmm

first-- i made it clear that asians are americans too. i said that we all talk the same, and i also used the term 'ethnicity' instead of race, beause even i believe that race has all sorts of negetive connotations and only older ignorant people use it, or an uninformed idiot. You WISH i had not made the point about all different ethnicities are american, but just because it's a great counter-argument to mine, you only wish i didn't say it. Mythology is subject to interpretation--no one country owns it, and because they are myths, they are endlessly subject to interpretation. Movies shouldn't alienate anyone... no matter who plays the roles in this, or what ethnicity those people are, it doesn't matter, because a) its ONE movie and more importantly b) it has NOTHING to do with an asian identity. It's about a kid with superpowers who needs to save the world which is four continents with each one having a specialized superpower. What about that is definitivly asian property? It has nothing to do with an asian identity. It is influenced by asian media-movies, anime etc. but wasn't kill bill even more blatant about ripping off asian media? and didn't that star a white chic? Your argument doesn't hold water, for me, because this movie, as a STANDALONE story, has nothing to do with an asian identity. I would whole-heartedly agree with you had Gran Torino cast a slightly asian looking but ultimately white teenager, because THAT movie is very much about the asian identity. Howabout you throw out more examples of movies that cast white people when they should have been asian and thus alienated an entire ethnicity. Just because Airbender was influenced by asian media, there is nothing in the story itself that demands the characters should be asian... NOTHING. Influence doesn't count... it probably would had this show been made overseas. And if this decision to not have asians play the roles alienated anyone, then THOSE are the overly sensative ones. The whole point of my argument is that the STORY AND STORY ALONE does not, in any way, call for asian characters. But I understand your point, and i'm far from ignorant, but there isn't anything IN Avatar that says the characters need to be asian. But to be completely honest, if it were up to me, I actually would have casted asians, specifically asians who have had real martial arts training that the movie could showcase, even though most of the fights are with superpowers, but those that aren't would kick serious amounts of ass had competent actors been hired. I just don't think that this decision to cast white kids is a racist move... because the most important thing regarding ethnicity is how it makes up one's identity. Gran Torino was about an asian identity. Airbender is not, even a little bit, about the asian identity. The story is a fictional world where everyone is the same ethnicity... its rediculous to say that just because a story draws upon asian influence, it must have an all asian cast... eventually, when an influence has been built over such a long time, someone else will take that influence and turn it into whatever they want to do with it... stealing an influence in no way requires casting relative to the influence itself... it just doesn't. Don't call me ignorant--i'm not... i just think its ludacris to call the casting of this movie a form of racism.

ETHNICITY AND RACE ARE DIFFERENT! You cannot interchange the two because you like one word over the other. A race can have several different Ethnicities within it. MYTHS are an integral part of a culture they are not interchangable. A myth is another word for religion and represents the hopes and aspirations of a culture. To say it is ok to interchange people from another race as the hero of its own myth is absolutely absurd. IF a movie had to appeal to everyone then WHY THE FUCK WAS LORD OF THE RINGS ALL WHITE! IT's not a real world. No one in the FUCKING BOOK SAYS It's EUROPE but yet is perfectly acceptable as an extrapolation of Medievil Europe. I had no problems with LOTR. To say AIRBENDER is not ASIAN is COMPLETELY UNTRUE! THE CREATORS themselves purposely ignored EUropean mythic elements to create something NEW! THE INTENT of the producers of this film was to cast CAucasians as Asian mythic Heroes. IT was purposely done. to call it clever marketing is just another term for racism.

So how is the petition against the casting going BTW?

    by Amy Chasing

Since people obviously seem to still feel passionately about this. It just seems to me that if the petition was meant to raise awareness, maybe it has maybe it hasn't but it probably was mainly preaching to the choir. It certainly didn't seem to change anything. <P> Bottom-line there are legitimate arguments on both sides here and neither side seems willing to listen to the other. Because of the gray-area that is trying to raise racism awareness using a fantasy animated show as the basis, I think playing the race card on this will either be ineffective (because most people don't know the show, let alone the creators intentions) or counter-productive because calling racism on a fantasy animated show adaptation seems a little petty when individuals are being undeniably race-discriminated against in the workplace. The casting of Airbender is not an open & shut case. If it were there'd be no argument here. <P> Don't get me wrong, I think it'd be nice to have Asian & Inuit looking people in Airbender. But it'd be nice, that's all. I previously posted about half a dozen reasons why Airbender isn't the best vehicle for racism awareness. I can post it all again if you like, but like I said, no one seems to be listening to alternate views.

    oh come on

    by wixmmm

I JUST TOLD YOU--and i quote--"i made it clear that asians are americans too. i said that we all talk the same, and i also used the term 'ethnicity' instead of race, beause even i believe that race has all sorts of negetive connotations and only older ignorant people use it, or an uninformed idiot." <br><br>I KNOW THAT RACE AND ETHNICITY ARE DIFFERENT. Your argument clearly relies too much on the fact that i don't know the difference between race and ethnicity. I re-read my last post and NOT ONCE did i say race where i should have said ethnicity. Now, i may be at fault on this, but it is because of how i was taught--i went to highschool in mexico, where i was taught that 'ethnicity' is the correct term for different groups of people within the same country... so maybe i was taught wrong or contrary to what they teach in american highschools. Stop attacking me for things i made very clear in my above post--form a real argument based on what i said and not what you wish i said that would help you discredit me.<br><br>And you're just completely dead wrong about myths--myths are built upon older myths which are built upon even older myths, not necessarily blatant ripoffs, but mythology is not subject to its country. Read 'The power of myth' if you don't believe me. And i didn't say myth's are interchangable--that's just stupid. I said myths are and always subject to interpretation, NOT that they are interchangable. This is your second big point that you have made in response to my post where i did not say what you think or wish i said. Did I, EVEN ONCE, say myths are interchangable??? I didn't...<br><br>Lord of the Rings is EXACTLY the same as whites in airbender. I keep making and and making it very clear that the issue of airbender is that its INFLUENCED by asian media, but THE STORY AND STORY ALONE has nothing to do with asians... nothing. I said it a million times and you continue to ignore it--the issue at hand is not where they looked for inspiration, it was clearly inspired by asian media. But THE STORY AND STORY ALONE of airbender has ABSOLUTELY NOTHING i'll say it again ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to do with the ASIAN IDENTITY. When a movie or book requires the characters to be asian, it is because the ASIAN IDENTITY is being used on the plot or characters and to a certain extent sheds light or commentary on what it is like to have or know someone who has the ASIAN IDENTITY. NONE of the characters in airbender have ANYTHING to do with what it means to be asian. Don't call me ignorant when you spend half your post attacking me for things i never said, and ignoring things i made clear.

who said anything about appealing to the fans? did i say they decided to go with whites in order to appeal to the audience? i didn't. yet another point you make in your attack on me that was no where in my argument.

all we r saying... is give us a chance

    by mazuzu

this was our chance!!!!! this was the perfect opportunity... WHY TAKE IT AWAY FROM US? so even if it's not racism.. it's still FREAKING UNFAIR... unless hollywood is going to cast John Cho as the next James Bond... or the next Michael Bourne... we will probably rarely ever see an Asian American as the MAIN CHARACTER of a movie... thank god for Harold and Kumar...

  • April 3, 2009, 8:08 p.m. CST

    one more thing

    by wixmmm

You said: "WHY THE FUCK WAS LORD OF THE RINGS ALL WHITE! IT's not a real world. No one in the FUCKING BOOK SAYS It's EUROPE"<br><br>What you're saying here is EXACTLY my point-- Airbender is NOT A REAL WORLD. No one in the FUCKING BOOK SAYS ITS ASIA! You have ignored my whole point which was in order for the movie to REQUIRE asians, it needs to be related to the ASIAN IDENTITY. You're completely ignoring this... again, like i said, if Gran Torino had a white but asian looking guy playing the teenager, then that would be a travesty and yes, a bit racist. But the reason that kid NEEDED to be asian is because that movie shed light on the asian identity, experience, spirituality and all sorts of things about what it means to be asian. Airbender is a FICTIONAL world, no where in it is there anything remotely asian. George Lucas drew inspiration from all sorts of myths, but being influence or drawing upon inspiration has NOTHING to do with the ethnicity of a character, or the fictional world they live in.<br><br>Also, you said this: "say it is ok to interchange people from another race as the hero of its own myth is absolutely absurd." AIRBENDER IS NOT AN ASIAN MYTH! how do you not understand that? it DRAWS UPON asian myth and influence, but ultimately, its one of and infinite amount of american stories that DRAW UPON other myths. That does NOT make it an asian myth.

  • April 3, 2009, 8:09 p.m. CST

    re: myth

    by Amy Chasing

Airbender is an American myth. It is full of American ideals, attitudes and even characterisations. <P> Just because the look of the world is Asian, don't for a moment think this is an Asian myth in any way.

  • April 3, 2009, 8:14 p.m. CST

    by Amy Chasing

The point is it isn't the perfect opportunity to fight racism. There is a gray area that needs to be addressed. If you think it's unfair, I feel for ya, but don't make this a fight against racism if there's the slightest doubt that the situation is actually racist.

Notice what I said also about how they don't let black people be heroes unless they're playing to the "black demographic." That's true with Denzel, Will, etc. Every time a black hero IS cast, it's an example of a character who says "Aw, HAYL NAH!" or gives a speech about "the man" trying to keep him down - it's baiting, and it's disgusting. When something is MASS-APPEAL in design (as opposed to many people liking something unexpectedly going mass-audience) it's got white heroes, nearly 100 percent of the time, if it's a pure Hollywood product. Same is true with other races for other genres - martial arts? Asian or "brown people from below America on the map." Romantic comedy? British dudes and American women - white, of course. Ford Prefect was black because Douglas Adams described him once as black. You want to understand this crap? Go watch HOLLYWOOD SHUFFLE. Meanwhile, I'll still be trying to figure out why the hell Hollywood didn't cast Boo Boo Stewart as Aang, which is the most perfect casting ever.

  • April 3, 2009, 10:54 p.m. CST

You want your whole argument ruined? OK. Aang is lighter-skinned than Zuko. But in the movie? They're both the same lily white. QED.

    to all

    by sokitome

FIRST AMY CHASING: But it isn't filled with American ideals. The creators have said themselves the ideas behind Avatar were mostly based on Eastern Philosophies that just happen to coincide with American ideals. Fighting against tyranny is not just an American ideal. ANd yes to Wixmmm: you didn't say it was about marketing, I said Hollywood was treating it that way. But you're missing my point. The story arc of Avatar is Asian to me and Asians. Your interpretation of it is completely different. The intent of the creators was based on Asian Story arc. LOTR is a perfect example of my point. You argue it's a fantasy world yet there was no problem with it being cast with all Caucasians. How ridiculous would it had been if it were cast with Asians and a Black guy as Legolas, Aragorn, Gandalf, and Frodo. NOT ALL MYTHS are built on others. MYTHS ARE religions in most of the world. The word "myth" is a Christian based "tag" to different and detriment other religions. Tell a Native American his myths can be substituted with other ones to make it more palpable to a wider audience. YOu keep denying it is ASian but yet the again I say the CREATORS and NICK executives themselves have said it is Asian. It is VERY MUCH part of the ASIAN Identity. Just google the creators of the show. Read the interviews they gave before the announcement of this movie. It's all there.

I kind of understand what you are saying this is somewhat petty since it is a children's fantasy show. But again I would just like to point out unfortunately children of this country let movies and pop culture influence them a lot. I just believe this would add to further alienation of Asians in this country. I'm sorry but anytime you have Caucasians dressing and acting "asian" in films is a bad thing. No matter how M NIght spins the racial makeup of the nations he is going to have to put on some make up to make them kids look the parts and they will still have Asian names. YES they are Asian based names, I know Asians with names like in the show including my own.

  • April 3, 2009, 11:02 p.m. CST

    by ThusSpakeSpymunk

Thanks for giving me a good laugh with your name. Aside from that, I don't think it's as simple as that. It's more insidious. It's done because they honestly don't think over at Nickelodeon Studios (and M. Night seems to agree) that an Asian-looking cast would attract kids to see the movie. They think it would turn off parents. they think it would cost them money. It's as simple as that. If they thought for a minute that Asian cast would make them more dollars than an all-white cast, they'd do it. BTW - here's a link of the person I think should be Aang, sinc I've mentioned him a few times.

    Nick Fury - the Difference

    by ThusSpakeSpymunk

Difference with Nick Fury is that the CREATORS of Nick Fury recast him in the comics AS SAMUEL L. JACKSON for the ULTIMATES line of comics (different versions of the original characters) before the movie ever even got properly conceived. THEN, they got Samuel L. Jackson to play a role designed for him. If the creators of THE LAST AIRBENDER had halfway through the series rebooted everything and made the entire cast white, then I would have no problem with the movies casting whit people (though I do have to say I'd be pissed at the creators of AIRBENDER). BTW - GibsonUSA, -great- post. What do you think of my casting idea?

What's also disturbing about all this is that it's obvious from THESE casting decisions that the people casting the other roles - the "lesser characters" - will also be cast as white, because they're certainly not going to cast all-white leads and surround them by Asian/Inuit actors ... like they should all be.

no one seems honest enough to tell you this. you fluked your first film, somehow convincing large parts of the world that a padded out episode of The Twilight Zone was a good, "twisty" film. you then made a statement along the lines of "only Spielberg and I can make good story films", and have since proved that, at best, only 50% of that line is correct. you are a plank, a tool and are wasting valuable Hollywood $$$$ that could be spent on better projects. and "better projects" compared to your films would start with "Guttenberg's reunion Police Academy film" idea as the benchmark. kindly stop humiliating yourself and wasting our time - please fuck off, basically.
