Cause the 4th season sucked hard. One of the worst seasons of any show in recent memory.

Michael J. Fox on Rescue Me!

    by MaxCalifornia.

I think we're in for some classic Rescue Me style "Oh they can't make fun of this...oh shit they just did!" antics.

    by Charlie_Allnut

Last season sucked, after three season's of brilliance. I hope it comes back to old form...

Kinda suprised by lack of Damages TB

    by Jubs

Considering Damages was supposed to be Herc's "favorite" FX show, or one of his favorite shows, and it was the season finale tonight, which by the way, tied things up very nicely.

  • April 2, 2009, 2:43 a.m. CST

You guys are all idiots for not watching Damages...

    by DanielKurland

That finale was a piece of art. In spite of showing you SO MUCH of the finale through the flashforwards all season, they still really showed you NOTHING at all and genuinely surprised me. Everyone goes on about Glenn Close, but Rose Byrne is really doing an incredible job as Ellen.

  • April 2, 2009, 5 a.m. CST

    Yeah, Leary owes us

    by The McPoyle Clan

after last season. I hope the good stuff they held back after effing around can fill the 22 eps we're getting now.

As for Damages, they had a lot to live up to with the 2nd season compared to the 1st, but I don't think they did. It was still entertaining but I don't think it flowed as well, they could have put the guest star power to better use, and there were too many balls in the air at times. They payoffs also could have been better constructed.

Damages is too good a show for Talkbacks

    by TheLastCleric

Seriously, they waited for what, six years to give The Shield it's own talkback? And that remains one of the very best shows to ever grace the medium. And yes, the Damages finale was outstanding, as is the entire show.

  • April 2, 2009, 12:45 p.m. CST

Damages hooked me this season with

    by skimn

its first few episodes, but then lost me when it was explained that Close's son was fathered by the Bill Hurt character. I thought, are we really going down this soap-operaish route? And I gave up on it. Should I re-visit it on DVD, and why?

  • April 2, 2009, 1:28 p.m. CST

Skimm, why did that bother you?

    by TheLastCleric

We knew in season one that the father was not in the picture so the revelation that it was Hurt's character didn't bother me. The whole reason behind him dragging Patty into this mess was because of their lengthy and rocky past.

  • April 2, 2009, 1:42 p.m. CST

    Skimn: revisit ###Spoiler-ish####

    by MGTHEDJ

    You've been warned
Patti's whole life blows up, including her relationships with her son and the William Hurt character.
The case has a pretty good wrap up.
New angle after this season is the theme. The line "Before I'm through with you/there won't be anything left" refers to Rose Byrne's plan for Patti.

Deadliest Catch and Mythbusters! Can't wait.

  • April 2, 2009, 3:56 p.m. CST

I'll go on record and say

    by Jubs

that Damages season 1 is better than season 2, but thats only because the Walter Kendrick character didn't have the same menace or gravitas as Ted Danson's Frobisher. I just didn't feel threatened by Kendrick at all, whereas Frobisher's infleunce and power was more apparent when he was the "villian" in season 1. But even still, season 2 still made for excellent television.

  • April 3, 2009, 1:21 p.m. CST

I liked a lot of Rescue Me's fourth

    by mr.underwater

I mean, as usual, it was crazy uneven. When it's good, it's easily the best show currently on TV. Unfortunately, when it doesn't work, it really falls flat. My only hope for season five is that they tighten the consistency. But, with the number of episodes doubling, I doubt that's going to happen.

Regardless, I'm sure it's going to offer some gems, and I'm excited for it's return.

  • April 3, 2009, 1:24 p.m. CST

Gents, I'll betcha FX runs an all day marathon
