Want WOLVERINE Premiere with Jackman and the other mutants to be in your town?
Hey folks, Harry here... This is a very ironic and bizarre day for all of this to have happened. Earlier today, I was talking to John Palermo, one of the producers on X-MEN ORIGINS: WOLVERINE - and he wanted me to let all of you know that if you want the official World Premiere to take place in your city - to go to X-MenOrigins.Com and mark your city with an X and the most cities with an X will host the official premiere with all the whiz bang that comes with that. Personally I feel that's really cool.
I am hoping for the best with this film - mainly because I know the next one is supposed to be the Japan storyline for Wolverine, which is my personal favorite Wolverine story. Now what I'm worried about is that if the Box Office on Wolverine tanks because of this leak online... that the attention will be spent on security, instead of STORY. This is a dark day for WOLVERINE, but perhaps if enough folks in some cool city out there vote - they'll get the opportunity to see the real finished product in the best possible way. That said... I can't find the map on that site to mark AUSTIN! Dammit! Any help?

Or do you believe that nobody downloaded TDK or even "Paul Blart: Mall Cop" instead of seeing it in theatre? And I'm sure that these movies weren't available in advance and maybe only in crappy quality.
But it WILL tank if the movie is bad and the word-of-mouth spread arounds (so yes...maybe it will tank because of the download.)

the difference between this and every other movie available online is that this the first time a summer tentpole film has leaked a month before its release date in high quality. these movies live and die by their opening weekend, and the opening weekends come from the buzz leading up to that date, and the buzz for this movie effectively ended today.

About a street away - we even got a flyer in the mail saying `We're filming Wolverine down the street, so that's why you might see crew/vans/Hugh Jackman/etc'. I didn't see the crew or vans but I did see Hugh take his kid to the local markets. You don't see that every day kids!

The online leak is far from "high quality". Yes, it's a workprint, and yes.. the quality is good. But it is a WORKPRINT, and there is so much unfinished work in it that I can't understand why anyone would want to watch it that way. Who cares if they get to see it early? It's not done. Low res CG environments, greenscreen, wires, cheesy placeholder FX.. you name it, it's there. I'm not watching the shitty online version, that's for sure.

...the finished film could be a very different beast once the 're-shoot' footage is intergrated and the film tightened to a leaner, meaner 90 mins. It has potential based on what I've seen and fans of this franchise should wait and see.

Nope, i wouldn't. And it isn't a black day for Wolverine because it leaked. It's a black day for Wolverine because the movie is shit. Not because the effects are missing. 20 minutes of reshot footage? This piece of shit needs 120 minutes of reshot footage to be saved. It's ridiculous from the first second. Just totally laughable. I didn't finish watching it, but the pre credits sequence with the kids - baaaad acting, stupid directing - a joke. The credits sequence - alright, so these guys are psychopaths who like only one thing: going to war and killing people. Okay, sick, but why not. But why have they got to do it in the most ridiculous way possible? Liev Schreiber (another actor who should be embarrassed for quite some time) jumping along Omaha beach like an extra in cats
The next action sequence with the "crew": "funny" "cool" Samurai sword guy, token black guy with dreadlocks and the hobbit who can make elevators go WITH HIS MIND!!! - how can you seriously expect people to pay for this bullshit? It's baffling.
Now don't get me wrong. I feel bad for Huge Ackman, he seems like a nice fellow passionate about his craft. But he seriously needs to stop doing shit like this and Van Helsing. Is it just me or does he look close to tears in that video above?
I don't know what to say. If anything this thing was leaked by the Fox executive responsible for greenlighting the film, so that he has an excuse why it bombs and noone has to face the fact that they produced an utter piece of shit. -

I don't want this shitfest of a movie to even show in my hometown, and I definately don't want it to premier there either. I don't want Tommy Rothman or his wife Jessica Harper (the star of "Phantom of the Paradise") to be anywhere near where I live. I would smell Rothman's stench for weeks afterwards.

Haven't seen the pirated version and probably won't but I am looking forward to seeing it one way or the other. I know it's not truly Logan from the comic but I think it's a decent to kick ass presentation of Wolvie for the first 2 films but with all of the fox antagonistic (right or wrong) bullshit, the leak, the rabid critics and usual madness...I gotta say that from a purely "Neverending Story mentality where fictional characters actually exist" point of view that I'm actually saddened for these film characters by the latest turn of events.Hard to articulate better than that without writing a novel but perhaps you get what I'm saying...

It's not shite. It's actually a laugher it's so bad. The Blob and Gambit were the only interesting parts. As I said in another thread, it's not the acting that kills this, it's the fact the story is so predictable and contrived it's unenjoyable. Jackamn is Wolverine, Gambit is solid, The Blob is good! The story is just without soul or eomtional content, in shor tit is Teh Suck.

Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe it'll end up premiering in the biggest city in Omaha, Nebraska, but the most votes are either going to be on the coast in New York or L.A., or in Austin anyway, the same place that EVERYTHING premieres in.

the film is fundamentally flawed in every possible way. jackman simply is not wolverine and has never gotten it. why/how on earth would a japan sequel be good? not sure if it will bomb as people generally embrace garbage, but i sure hope it does.
