The Lucky 100 Hundred heading FAST & FURIOUS to a movie tonight in Austin!!!

Published at:  Mar 31, 2009 1:37:36 AM CDT

Hey folks, Harry here with the 100 folks that'll be seeing FAST & FURIOUS with me tonight at the Highland Galaxy theater in Austin, Tx at 7:30. I'd recommend getting there no later than about 6:45, just so we have a nice and smooth process for the theater. When you come tonight - remember your number and give the rep your name to check off the list. I'll see ya there, even though my back is friggin' screaming at me. Pulled something last night just sitting still. DOAN'S is my current friend.

    Fuck Fast & The Furious

    by seppukudkurosawa

Without being hyperbolic, that movie's been directly responsible for dozens of deaths. Ever since that movie got released, thousands of disaffected youths all over England have organized little get-togethers in their imported Japanese/European tripped-up rides, running their own F&F style racing tournaments on Friday and Saturday nights. And these boy racers have caused the deaths of dozens and dozens of people by speeding through narrow streets at night. If the movies were better, I might take the: "How can you hold a movie responsible for what impressionable idiots get up to?" stance, but it ain't, so I hope this one tanks. If only so I can walk down the fucking street without having to jump out of the way of some out of control Toyota.

    this movie looks awesome

    by indyabbey jones

i love the series, and this one just looks amazing
also shut the fuck up with all this "the movie is responsible for race related deaths" bullshit..what are you 4? People make their own decisions in life, a movie or Tv show is in no way responsible for the actions of a person, and besides if someone kills themselves imitating something they saw in a movie, then maybe they deserved to die

It's not about them killing themselves

    by seppukudkurosawa

If all these boy racers 'sploded themselves trying to install NOS turbo boosts in their cars, I wouldn't bat an eye. It's the fact that they're killing others that irks me. Or at least making it a complete hazard to walk the streets at night.

I suppose it'd be more on target if they just brainless young fucks.

and your flimsy promotion veiled as anti street racing PSA (that was going on LONG before these movies). you even managed to screw up what would be a cool nick by adding more letters than needed. seppukurosawa would have been ballaaah but newp ya tried too hard. or not hard enough?

How come fun movies are always bashed?

    by rand92

Not Schindler's List? Why does it have to be? These films and others like them are mindless fun. Believe it or not, it is okay to make and watch a movie like that. You don't have to be able to examine the position of every blade of grass in a film and contrast it to the lighting choice to see how existential the placement of the blade of grass is and how it tells us all something about the human condition. Sometimes is it okay to have mindless, fast action; scantily clad women for no reason at all; and lots of explosions. It takes our mind off the world and how it seems to be going ever closer to pure chaos. No, it isn't Schindler's List and thank God for that!

In the 4th movie, they got rid of "the" in the title.

    by polyh3dron

In the 5th it'll be called Fast. Furious.
