‘You Don’t Have A Lot Of Time!!’ 24 7.15!!

Published at:  Mar 23, 2009 4:21:03 AM CDT

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

Blaine Mayer foolishly tried to mock Jack Bauer during a Congressional hearing. A few hours later, the world thinks Jack Bauer killed both Mayer and Mayer’s chief of staff. I bet the other 99 U.S. senators are going to be a lot nicer if and when that hearing reconvenes. I bet Nancy Pelosi thanks him for all his bold efforts and offers to fetch him a snack.

Fox says of 7.15:

Perilous circumstances lead Jack Bauer and Tony Almeida to a shipyard, and back at the FBI, Agent Moss needs complete cooperation from his staff when the stressful situation takes an unexpected turn. Meanwhile, First Daughter Olivia Taylor (guest star Sprague Grayden) becomes increasingly involved in the politicking, and the administration reels when a high-ranking official delivers devastating news. Guest Cast: Jon Voight as Jonas Hodges; Michael Rodrick as Stokes; Kevin Fry-Bowers as Cooper; Connor Trinneer as Carl Gadsen; Glenn Morshower as Aaron Pierce; Cameron Daddo as Vice President Hayworth; Sprague Grayden as Olivia Taylor; Rory Cochrane as Greg Seaton; Stephen Jared as Greer.

9 p.m. Monday. Fox.

Terminator: Sarah Connor Trainwreck...err ... Chronicles. Don't you remember? He was the plot device/twist/woman-beater. In addition to Stargate: Atlantis, I think he played an alien of some sort in another series. I can't recall which one, but he was made up with latex, so you wouldn't know it was him anyway.

By the way, Scott "Archer" Bakula is playing "Chuck"'s father this season.

Personally, at this rate, I hoping that Jack Baer can get everyone in both houses bumped off so the country can start over and get competent people this time around. Doesn't matter which side of the isle these people sit. I don't know if there is a single brain in the entire House of Representives. There might be a brain and a half in the Senate. Sorry, enough politicizing.

    Minority

    by nudeandaroused

I realize that I am in the minority here. This season has been absurd and really silly. Nothing, nothing at all is original, except for one thing. Jack's dilemma. Does he go too far? That is when the shows have some depth. Otherwise, there has been nothing in this show at all that is original or the least bit entertaining. I usually watch "Top Gear" instead of this or "Heroes."

24 and lost in ireland killed by bad scheduling.

    by emeraldboy

24 and lost were shown in Ireland back to back on a sunday night. On sky one. That was fine and dandy. On rte Lost was shown on Monday night. and was like that for years. It was very much a regular thing something that irish viewers got used to. Then it all changed this year. Sky moved 24 hours to a monday night slot. at 9pm. Why they did this I have no idea. However the most irritating thing is that RTE moved Lost to the sunday night slot up against Lost on sky one at 9pm. I think this is utter lunacy and make no sense whatsoever. Two shows on at the same time on the same day is just nuts. I wish that Rte would also show 4 at a reasonable time like say ten pm. This is why I am loosing at on both show that I have watched since their inception. GRRRR

Hmmm let's see 1. Guy named Jack. Check 2. Freckle-faced babe. Check 3. Bug eyed villian (Papa Jolie used to be a bit bug eyed in his Deliverance moustache days). Check. Now all we need is to get Tony to die his hair blonde and not shave. To bring back Edgar and get him to gain some more weight and not shave too often. And get some Irish/Australian/Canadian accented guy to call Jack Laddy/Mate/HowsitgoinEh every once in a while. Then make Chloe blonde, pregnant, Korean and an Other.

    by maelstrom_zero

There's no way Jack is exposed. What was probably in the canister was just some sort of cooling agent to ensure optimal stable temperature. It's nothing but a cheap way to raise dramatic tension. Because, you know, the writers of 24 aren't ballsy enough to actually have Bauer infected.
That being said, I kind of wish that Bauer was infected. Not that I want him dead, but it'd at least add a certain amount of personal desperation that would make the rest of the day interesting.

    by bullet3

Ok, this season is just blowing me away now. Its now #2 in my book behind the perfect season 5, and who knows, if they keep this pace up it might become my favorite. Its like during the writer's strike, the writers decided to ditch the usual conventions and boil the show down to everyones favorite parts.
They keep changing things up every episode, you never feel (like in the begininning of this season) like you're waiting for a predictable arc to play out anymore, now, every episode they're just tossing new shit at you. And they have fantastic action sequences again. And they have tony and jack kicking ass together. And they have an awesome female sidekick for jack. And they Jon Voight as an awesome villain. Everything has really come together now, I guess they realized they had something to prove after season 6.

Unless he's Charles Logan 2.0, because he got the clueless dolt down pat. Obviously clearing Jack didn't benefit Starkwood, so if Moss is moling for someone it has to be whomever is "after Quinn" (I'm presuming it's not going to take 9 episodes to deal with Starkwood).

This Season Is Starting to rock pretty hard

    by crow3711

I'm a big, big fan of all this inner-turmoil, actually questioning yourself type of theme they are going for in this season. it's about time Jack has to really look at some of the things he does. The scene last night with the innocent security guard did a great job of this, even if it was a little "video-game" style to choose between letting him die and shooting the henchmen. The way he just said thank you and ran off and disappeared seemed like a choice in Grant Theft Auto to me, but it still worked. I'm glad Jack refused to let him die. Some of the politico, white house stuff is less itneresting than other seasons, and the First Daughter is the most annoying character since Kim (in a different way), but 24 is back in a big way. I'm just pissed Rack Bauer is stuck in a holding cell for 3 episodes. She is so hot, but she nothing to do! Lame.

Atones for his softness in saving the security guard which lead to his potential exposure to the bugs, Starkwood's continued possession of the bugs and acceleration of their planned use, and Tony's beatdown and coming torture. Bottom line: it doesn't pay to be a nice guy. Hope Moss appreciates the effort. Maybe he'll offer Jack his extra tampon and a DVD of Beaches as an attempt at bonding.

    Raiders of the Lost WMD

    by jack burton

Anyone else catch the "Raiders" like moments in this episode? When the crane is first lifting the container the music is ominous and sounds a lot like the Desert Chase theme in Raiders. Then Jack shoots the crane operator who appears to slump on the controls and the crane starts spinning and smashing into stuff (like the Flying Wing in Raiders), and finally jack boards a truck and throws the driver out in a shot that looks identical to when Indy did it. All that was missing was for Jack to get shot in the arm and thrown out the window (I'm guessing they left that out due to budget).

Just thought this was more than coincidence.

Good calls. When the dock cue played, I was like, "good music", then "where have I heard that before?" It took me about 10 seconds to tell my wife it sounded like the Raiders truck chase music. Then when the crane started going nuts, I said, "Wow, that's like a Spielberg set piece". And then the truck... well, you know. Glad I'm not alone.

A few episodes back, the composer lifted a dramatic cue from James Horner, one that he used in Apollo 13 and other films.
