SORORITY ROW Remake Trailer Ready For Ogling!

Published at:  Mar 19, 2009 3:06:09 PM CDT

Beaks here...

The only thing I remember about 1983's THE HOUSE ON SORORITY ROW is the VHS box. That's it. I'm sure I rented the slasher flick at some point, but clearly it was no FINAL EXAM. Or THE FOREST. Or THE MUTILATOR.

So director Stewart Hendler can do whatever he wants with his updated SORORITY ROW. He gets points for casting Carrie Fisher as the house mother and STEP UP 2: THE STREETS' Briana Evigan as, presumably, the final girl. But whatever enthusiasm I can muster will vanish if this gets a PG-13. Fortunately, Bloody-Disgusting's Brad Miska believes the film is gunning for an R.

Below is an embed from MySpace. You can get an HD version here.

SORORITY ROW trailer in HD

SORORITY ROW opens nationwide on October 2, 2009.

Fuck, Mark Hammill, must be laughing from all that Joker money he made, fuck if it's a cartoon it's better than this dreck that looks like Mtv's The Hills. Now if only someone would film the actual slashing of the idiot Hills cast now that would be cool. Or course, Harrison smoked'em all.

Seriously, aside from some cheesy 80's moments, the original film has a great story. But maybe they used more of it and we can't see from the trailer.

Also, the Charles Band score from the original is fantastic. Look on YouTube to find the old trailer to hear it.

House On Sorority Row ROCKS HARD

    by sonnyfern

It's one of my favorite slashers. It's got one of my favorite last chases EVER (and for me, it's all about that final chase) and the killers costume is freaking super cool. It has more plot than the usual slasher too. I really don't care about the remake...no way can it dampen the original.

Any studio got the nuts to remake 'Massacre at Central High'??

    by ribbitking

Now this is an odd little old movie. But I really liked the idea behind it,... think of Heathers. Almost no adults are seen in the entire film that mostly takes place in a high school. The kids kind of 'rule' the school and even the town around them. After a new kid to town is nearly killed by the preps..he exacts revenge. The rest of the school takes his revenge as an ideology and all hell breaks loose. Not a great movie, but a great idea.

Central High is animal farm retooled as a high school slasher. Was watching Nuke Em High the other day. That would be a good one to do next. Although, its kind of similar to Black Hole (no, really) and since Fincher has that coming up, I'd rather see that. Class Of 1984 would be cool. Sort of plays like Hitler living in Saved By The Bell.

    by filmcoyote

I mean the trailer already shows that the sorority mother's involvement is different and clearly the killer can't be the same. The course of events is changed too. So really it's taken a slim part of the concept and made a whole new movie unrelated to the original. At least Friday The 13th did what it said on the tin - nudity, 13 deaths, kids at a camp!
