Glad the suits decided to step out of the way.
-
I've been waiting for this one a long time, it's been in quite an interesting level of development hell.
http://www.dipassaggio.com/ -
awesome awesome image. Love it.
-
is gonna get you
-
...rushed to be first...blank posted...and wasn't even first. My god.
-
this just makes me happy. i hope it is amazing. i really hope.
-
Should be fun.
-
Unlike the one for TAKING OF PELHAM, which you slammed.
-
when do we get some definitive answers on this movie in regards to it's production? We'll we see Spike's version as intended or do we have to wait for some kind of Criterion Collection version? I know the studios squelched rumors about Spike losing control of his production, but what about the rumors of him being told to tone it down because he was scaring some test audience kids? I WANT ANSWERS!!!
-
I'll eat you up!
-
bravo sir.
-
as a five year old. What parent would let their 10 year old wear a fucking wolf costume around the house?!? Your kid would grow up to be a social retard.
-
It looks like the kid is screaming "bad touch".
-
or an AICN talkback poster...
-
that poster begs the question
-
Where The Wild Things Are... in my *pants*!!!
-
I mean it makes you think...I'm not sure if it makes you think the right things...healthy things...but it makes you think...
-
Or is it Polanski?
-
Holy shit, and I thought I was pathetic for having a "RuPaul" fan blog...
-
And the best part is Jim Carrey's face isn't anywhere on it. This is definitely on my top 3 anticipated movie list.
-
Poster looks great. Can't wait for the trailer.
-
How can anyone not be excited by this film?
-
This could be something special....... could be lol
-
It sure ain't here
-
Not really, I just wanted attention.
-
I mean it. I like it a lot. Really looking forward to this. Love the old-school (with apologies to Harry) MAN IN SUIT technology.
-
got it in one
-
fucking amazing, cant wait for it.
-
Every site on the internet has posted this image and Aint It Cool is just now getting around to it. Next they'll be showing the teaser poster for The Phantom Menace.
-
I wanted to write this movie since I was a child, but never gave it go. I can't wait for this flick to ruin everything about the book.
-
I sent a scan of the poster via email to Harry three days ago! now someone else puts it up, and THEY get the credit! maybe I did it wrong, does anybody know how to get an article published?
-
It's not like it's a fucking novel. It's a kids book. It's a fucking short story. The cat in the hat movie sucked balls but it's not like it ruined the book, not that the cat in the hat is in my personal library.
-
And the best part is, this film opens on my Birthday!
*Animalistic howl of delight* -
Sorry, I'm still fired up from all the morons in the Tintin talkback...
-
Hopefully we won't get a mutilated version of it since studios love fucking up things that are already good.
-
I have NO faith in this working. Sorry. Hollywood is the one that keeps proving that not me. Hope for otherwise but will not see it opening weekend.
-
So AICN is right on time w/ this. You bitches on the "this is late" bandwagon are a bunch of douche-bag tools.
-
kids moviezzzzZZZZZzzzzZZZzzz
-
What the fuck are you trying to say...ignorant ass?
-
With his supper waiting for..."and it was still hot." (Sorry I read this book to a toddler almost every night).
-
Shouldn't this movie be on DVD by now?
-
poorly executed. Bad compositing. The boy looks like a cutout. That's a shame.
-
Denise Richards really didn't age well.
-
Carol ain't wearin' pants. And he's voiced by Tony Soprano.
Double ick. -
definitely looking forward to it.
-
Did, not tried.
-
Really, all you people that think of molestation first thing when you see this poster need to be watched. Anyway, I think it looks cool, I'm pretty excited about this one hope it doesn't suck.
-
...can't wait. I hope it has the same feeling as The Fall which Spike Jonze "presented" whatever that means. This definitely needs that feeling of experiencing it through Max's eyes.
-
people blowing a load all over this when there's no actual footage or anything out just need to calm down. I'm sure it'll be a fun movie, but damn guys. And does anybody know if there' a draft of the script anywhere online?

Isn't the teaser trailer supposed to be on that lame CGI movie?
by u-stu.com
The one with Seth Rogen and a bunch of other no talent losers? Is this the first sign of the studio stepping in and messing it up? They're going to try to market to kids who love Bolt and it will fail. If they market it as it is, a fantasy told through the eyes of a child which will appeal to adults that still have an imagination and children who realize they deserve better entertainment than what they have. Just a side note, my mom's a kindergarten teacher, every now and then she plays my old DuckTales VHS tapes for them. They LOVE it. They don't want the crap they make these days.
-
Hence the screaming Max. This is definitely a movie I'm looking forward to, although how they stretched the ridiculously short book into a feature length production is still a mystery.

I loved the leaked footage, it was awesome and this will rule
by proman1984
Jonze is great.
-
Should be that shot of a monster and max with their back to the camera and the sun is setting on the beach. That is a great shot.

Motoko Kusanagi is the most badass motherfucker in the world
by dr sauch
He sleeps through kids movies, because he's tired from being so fucking awesome all the fucking time. Instead of making this drivel for those little half pint faggots who can't even DRINK, they should give more money to Motoko Kusanagu to fucking pork hot babes.
-
More so than usual.
-
a while back and it needed a lot of work. The kid is just an annoying brat. Hope they were able to turn it around.
-
Blown up to a 2 hour movie filled with superflous backstory, contrived relationships and manufactured conflict. Great idea, because flooding a beautifully simple tale with all that unnecessary shit always leads to a masterpiece (Seuss, Van Allsburg, etc). Critics and audiences will love the look of this movie and shit all over the basterdized story, as well they should.
-
just died...liam neesons wife. wow.
-
Totally - check it out.
-
And by "poster" I don't mean you worthless illiterate slime, I mean the imagery promoting this film.
-
Consider it done.

Fuck Transformers, Star Trek, and the rest of the summer garbage
by my_blue_penis
...THIS is what true fans of film should be looking forward to. Another Spike Jonze flick? Sign me up.
-
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
-
good book - but unfortunately one that is LOVED by ugly people like Sophia Coppela, Spike Jones. Fuck this movie
-
There really isn't. It is a great book. The movie will share the title and some names of characters and the "look" but it will not have its soul.
-
Just saying.
-
I wonder how long it will be before that site is up. I typed it in and it just went to warner's page.
-
or Goggles!
-
Fucking ruin the surprise for me in my favorite magazine. May as well cancel my subscription now if Harry is just going to go ruin all the cool surprises.
-
Will be the next big budget film made from a kid's book. Directed by Tim Story. Can't wait.
-
Will it be like the last chapter of Pyramids of Mars and be worth the wait? Hope so. I'm counting on Spike!!
-
a movie poster that's not just a bunch of photoshopped floating heads?
-
I agree, I would HATE to be a kid growing up with today's "entertainment". My daughter loves all the old school movies and cartoons from my day. She loves Neverending story, princess bride, the last unicorn, and the muppet show, Tom & Jerry, etc. She still will watch Disney every now and then, but the repeat viewing are from my library. I feel bad for her.
-
it was too short and simple for my childhood tastes. And, I always imagined the Creatures would smell nasty fierce with those big assed feet and heads.Still I hope Spike Jonze can pull a movie out of his ass considering the small amount of material he had to work with.
-
is there you weren't allowed to adapt it from something else?
-
no shame in being to dumb to use ones own pc... im just no good at it :p
and for this first & last and always thingie here... who cares?
-
Shame as it was an opportunity to show something cool!
-
... that this will be, at best, a mishmash of what Spike Jonez wanted and what goober-drool studio executives wanted, with no hope of anybody ever seeing the REAL movie that was made - ... well, it's going to come off like DTV crap. Guaranteed.
-
and have read it to her many times over the past 3 years. Reading it as an adult, I have come to the conclusion that Max is one of those bratty little assholes you see on "Super Nanny" and "Nanny 911". I still love the monsters though and I fear that this movie will neuter them. I am on record as stating that this kid is waaaay to fucking old, distractingly old, to be wearing a wolf suit around the house - you know I am right. If the Watchmen sadly fails to excite the masses, I can't see how an adult take on a classic children's book will create box office magic. Oh and the poster is boring as shit! I think Max should be sailing in his boat at dusk with the island where the Wild things are in the distance: at the top of the poster it would have read "And he sailed off through night and day to..." and under the boat written over top of the ocean water it would read "Where the Wild Things Are" - or something to that effect. For me that would be much more interesting than what was produced. Just my two cents...

"Waahhhh!!! Spike Jonze is gonna make this movie suck!!!"
by mrmysteryguest
-
I do NOT like Spike Jonze movies. However, everything I've seen of this shows that, *technically*, it's been done perfect justice. What concerns me is how the spirit and tone of the film will be conveyed. Neverending Story, Dark Crystal, Legend, Labyrinth... those were the children's movies of MY day... and besides Coraline and Lemony Snicket (to different extents), I long for the return of "kids movies" that don't talk down to kids. Remember those?
-
It is aimed at adults that read it as children. That is why it will fail.
-
I remember reading a review on this site about a year ago telling us the movie was a one of kind childrens film that was scary, magical, and most importantly not pandering.
Hopefully, come Fall, we will see that movie. -
Clearly not aimed at kids. Though brave, inquiring young minds will be intrigued I'm sure!
The tag line is clever. The average adult will recognize the imagery, but the line will make them want to dig a little deeper into the story.
I think it's a striking image. Simple. Provoking. Fun. And a little dark. Very very nice.
I think Spike may have snuck another masterpiece below the radar! -
...that tagline would have a whole other meaning, judging by the expression on his face. Do you think that's the non-kid friendly element the studio took a disliking to?
-
I honestly am not sure how I feel about this film. It was my favourite book as a child (partly because my name is Max) and I can't imagine how this could possibly capture the the feeling of the book. I think this will probably be unintentionally terrifying, a la Polar Express.
-
If they would have stuck with the vintage fantasy look of the source material, and just added a little Spike Jonze quirkiness, it might appeal to more people. I'm so over Hollywood taking creative license to "interpret" something that's fucking obviously successful at its original conception. Don't get me wrong, I'm still stoked to see this.
