‘Now Take A Seat!!’ 24 7.14!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!
For the third time this season, Jack Bauer and Sen. Blaine Mayer find themselves in the same room together.
If you’re depressed that Jack is back in framed fugitive mode, take heart in the fact that Chloe’s foreigner husband Morris is about to take on the FBI!
Fox says:
The day worsens when a conspiracy causes key players to scramble and the politicking in the administration to escalate. Agent Renee Walker receives key intelligence, and Jack Bauer yields results from a surprise meeting. Meanwhile, at the FBI, Janis Gold and Larry Moss deal with Morris O'Brian as the pressure soars. Guest Cast: Kurtwood Smith as Senator Blaine Mayer; Tony Todd as General Juma; Eyal Podell as Ryan Burnett; Glenn Morshower as Aaron Pierce; Cameron Daddo as Vice President Hayworth; Sprague Grayden as Olivia Taylor; Ryan Cutrona as Admiral Smith; Carlo Rota as Morris O'Brian; Frank John Hughes as Tim Woods; Jennifer Carta as Presidential Aide; Jon Voight as Jonas Hodges.
In the March 13 edition of Entertainment Weekly, Michael Ausiello reveals that Olivia Taylor is so evil, Aaron Pierce should not have bothered risking his life to save her. Also? Soul-Patch Tony gets some!

I guess we aren't getting a Breaking Bad talkback?
-
You mean Juma's corpse.
-
not tood. Tony Tood is a completely different guy.
-
Does anyone watch this show who's under 40 and not in the military? Seriously? Especially after watching FTA with papa Sutherland and what a hippie he was, he didn't raise his son right.
-
i wasn't too sure.. but last weeks epsiode cemented it for me. it's a huge pity that Bill aka col tc mcqueen had to die. but this is 24 after all. Is anyone safe who knows jack?
-
In other news, humans breathe oxygen.
-
...but then they had to go and pull that stupid hospital setup...
-
Seems like they brought this guy in and went to semi-great lengths to show us just how "good" he really is. It'd be great to give Jack an equally capable adversary for a season or two. I bet we see a lot more of this guy. Or he gets his neck snapped five minutes in.
-
Will he get a drill in his hand?
-
Better than seasons 2, 3, and far better than 6. Not as good as 4 and 5. Roughly on par with 1. Works for me. Hated to see Buchanan die, but you could see it coming - his character had done pretty much all you could ask, dramatically. The most you can ask for in this show is a good death, and he certainly got that. Unless you're Chloe, of course. . . they'll never kill her, and for good reason.

Him going rogue is only stupid because
by guy who got a headache and accidentally
It's always undone 2 episodes later at the most. Just KEEP him that way for once. Christ, that was the most interesting thing to happen these past couple of seasons, Jack actually getting outmatched for once. And then there's something about a badass in a suit on the run from cops that just works for me. I can't believe you people are saying this season is good so far though. Tony has been wasted, the attack on the white house was laughable. If this is what they came up with, having a whole year to think things through, then this show is fucked. The season is inbetween 4 and 6 on the shittyness scale so far, dipping into 6 levels with that white house bullshit.
-
cool, I just noticed the invisotext in Herc's post...good stuff...Olivia Taylor is hot...looks better then she did on Jericho...by the way when is Kim Bauer returning to the show?...I know she signed on for the 2nd half of the season and was wondering when she's gonna show up...hopefully more then the 2 episode cameo appearance she made a few seasons back
-
has been infinitely more enjoyable, if more dumb in part, than 6, but I could forgive that if it were building to something... Jack going hostile in series 8.
Seriously. After years of being fucked over by countless administrations, saving countless lives, losing his family and loved ones, being locked up countless times and no-one ever believing him to the point where it isn't remotely plausible it makes PERFECT dramatic sense that he'd get tired and ultimately resentful.
They won't do it naturally but as a conclusion to the series it would be beyond epic. -
I hope she doesn't return. Her two episode cameo where they were locked in CTU was pointless and she just felt shoehorned in.
Even in terms of eyecandy shes redundant, as Freckles has a mature and sexy allure -
The dirty bastard.
-
Episode 14 already?...this season's just flying by...only 10 episodes left after tonight...the strike actually helped this show...maybe they should air 24 only every other year...since the writers need the extra time to come up with good stories
-
If anything, I'd be considered a far-left wing peacenik, but I'm still watching 24. Kiefer was raised just fine.
-
Has anyone else thought there's a resemblance between her look in 24, and a young Dana Delaney? Maybe it's the hair.
-
Be interesting to see how they keep up the Voight-tension for the remaining 11 episodes now that he's in the mix. The better series leave a big reveal, or the entrance of the big player to nearer the end (like Dennis Hopper in S01) so hopefully there's still a big surprise up the writers sleeves.
-
This series is absurd. It should have been cancelled after season 5. Attack at the White House? Seriously? Moles? Toture? Come on now. What have they done this year that puts it "back on track?"
-
Far-left Canadian, under 40, never been in the military, or had any desire to be. Love 24. Some people can live an entire productive life with a railroad spike embedded in their skull. So having a stick up your ass may seem like a bleak prognosis now, but with a few lifestyle adjustments I'm sure you'll make it.
-
We lost BSG 3 weeks ago with Gaetas last Words: It stopped....... Yeaah it did.........
1 down 2 to go and no successors in sight....
-
Be careful, Tio's watching!Who do you think will have the goofier looking kid, Chloe/Morris or Kim and her shrink?
-
Now I have no clue whats going to happen tonight.
-
JUMA'S ALIVE?!
-
AWESOME
-
Live-blogging is for losers.
-
She now can go Rogue!!!
-
36DD
-
So Freckles can torture him by forcing him to watch as Jack gives it to her like a real man. -
They bring him back to almost never use him?
-
Because they don't want to reveal that he kept Emerson alive yet
-
Spoilers in the title AGAIN! Someone SITS DOWN tonight! And
now you've ruined it for me! You
bastard! -
Or at least they're trying to make him seen that way.
-
for Breaking Bad. Last nights episode amped up the danger and suspense moreso from the second season opener. Ding-ding-ding-ding.
-
I don't think he's a mole. His attitude during the First Lady's disappearance clearly demonstrated he was not in the loop. Then again, he wasn't on the list, either, so maybe he is Voight's inside man?
-
Call in Ethan Hunt!
-
is an idiot. You're right...theres no way a liberal could possible enjoy a fictional entertainment show with right-wing tendencies. Fuck you. Your a shmuck. People are more complicated than their political leanings. Everyone likes watching Jack Bauer kill motherfuckers. Everyone.
-

Will Senator Dumbass reveal that Kelso's punking Jack?!?
by mrmysteryguest
-
The fact that some members of the FBI know that he was set up detracts from the premise somewhat. I wonder what Jon Voight's mystery weapon is - hopefully there will be a giant picture of it that Jack uncovers while trailing some henchmen.
-
Yes because if Jack Bauer used the tactics you'd like him to use the show would have already been over due to the bad guy winning.
-
http://ausiellofiles.ew.com/2009/03/burn-notice-exc.html (remove spaces). I've never watch Samantha Who? so I'm not familiar with this actress. Anyone with insights?
-
and get this Robocop casting bug out of their systems for good. Not complaining mind you, I always have enjoyed Kentwood Smith.
-
Is of course season six DVDs he's going to use a device to magically broadcast them on tvs throughout the country causing the American public to go crazy en masse from the shittiness of it all. -
Preferably in an undergarment and running. Thank you 24 producers in advance.
-
She needs to do the Robocop/24 transition!
-
Ok in 24 redemption hodges call dubaku on a satelite phone and began the conversation with 'this is hodges'. So that means his name is bound to be on dubaku's list of traitors. So why isn't jack taking a closer look at that list instead of intterogating the senator's chief of staff in the hospital?
-
I've been thinking the same thing myself. I can't see Voight's 'weapons' being the only plot thread to see out the rest of the season.
I still think there's something edgy about Tony. I'll bet the last few episodes of the season will be a showdown between him and Jack. You heard it here first. ;) -
Contrary to earlier reports, I will not be live-tbing tonight's ep. Two reasons: since I plan on live-tbing the BSG finale I need to conserve my energy for Friday, and I'm really enjoying the book I'm reading so I'll be reading it during commercials. Lest you fret too much, I may check in now and again with thoughts.
Back to your lives. -
Remember him calling the 16 yr old secret service agent traitor who tried to kill the first husband? Ethan was calling for him to bring the President's husband back to the White House and had no idea he was being deceived. That's a whole other loose end they need to tie up.
-
If Ethan's only contact is via Voight, he may have had no knowledge of any of Dubaku's/Juma's plans (except to get out of the White House before Juma attacks). And, in fact, it looks like the First Lady assasination attempt was a spur-of-the-moment thing anyway. That would explain why he wasn't on the list, and give Voight his own in that's not dependent on other assets.
-
But his earlier behavior is not a proof either way
-
REGRETTING NOT FOSTERING A BETTER RELATIONSHIP WITH HIS DAUGHTER?! THERES NO TIME!!!
-
this year has been so slow.
-
Remember the episode jack and bill and rack went tot he white house to tell the president of the conspiracy? In that episode after dubaku calls to say he has the first gentleman ethan said that secret service agent was found by other agents with a paralyzing liquid on him and that it confirms what jack just told them about a conspiracy. That's how he knew so its not a plot hole
-
Seriously, the guy was a drag since he first showed up in S.4 and was basically just the guy who said "Jack, go here!" and Jack said "Copy that!!" for 5 seasons. Who was calling him a fan favourite? He really SHOULD have died in the previous episode when Juma had him cold. But it was kind of a shocking death and he went out like a champ, so that's okay. Certainly not the most lamented death on 24 ever. I just thought he was kind of a useless character by this point. Apparently, the writers did too.
-
Bill was laid out like a pig roast in Memphis, with one eye looking all white and gimpy. Least Jack could have done would be to close his eyes out of respect. Disappointed in him.
-
Although I wished he had turned out to be a the real CTU villian this season. When I first saw him with the white o'clock shadow, I thought they he was going to turn out to be off his rocker.
-
...I thought the writer's were going to write Bill as off his rocker this season.
-
Wasn't he targeting an area called Batavia? In that case he might want to take over the Tevatron, the US's version of the LHC, in Batavia Illinois [google it]. And do some havoc or other.
-
Jack did close Bill's eyes, right before he stood up. You must've missed it.
-
the SciFi article? I'm going to have to live-tb this one just to get us in the top 10, aren't I?
-
...find out who Juma's working for. Er, get our post count up. *blows up*
-
The senator must see the error of following the 'constitution' all the time.
-
Needs moar spoilers in the title
-
Are we going to see him again? Is he still in surgery or what? And I relish the thought of the President's daughter being a totally over the top Machievellian schemer ala Sherry Palmer. And when is the promised Chloe/Janis smackdown catfight?
Like most people here, I agree this is better than Season 6, but it still has some of the most idiotic plot-holes ever seen on TV. I wish I had one of those magic drills that Juma's crew had that can bore through concrete in two minutes. How handy would that be? -

Argument against Ethan being a Voight-only mole.

Morris first thing... And who the F leaves their MacBook in their car? Wouldn't they need that at work?

Neat little subtle plot point. Steal a "classic", becuase you can hot wire it, the newer cars have the anti-hotwire nonsense.

Isn't it a toy like a litebrite or etchasketch?
-
O face is fantastic.
-
listening to Jack, and now you're no longer listening? Women, am I right?
-
Meet Jack Bauer. It was nice knowing you.

to pack your pajamas and your toothbrush, you fucking DO IT

You're such a smart, smart man. But don't keep Morris waiting, if you know what's good for you.

PMCS! DAMMIT! Starkwwood is planning an attack Larry! I don't care! Find Jack!

Pretty soon, even HE'LL start listening to Jack. :)

Suppose Tony's getting his pajamas ready? Hope not.

now this is some juicy 24 conspiracy. The best way to help your case is kidnap a senator!

Red Foreman needs to get offed. I don't need his convoluted attempt to help Jack.

Did NOT see that coming!

you dumbass

Jack is having one shitty day.

I was just starting to like him.

Well played, 24 creators. Well played indeed.

And I can't fucking believe it. Definitely SHOULD have seen that coming.

Better late than never, I suppose. No silent clock for YOU!

Hasn't every Robocop alumni been on 24 now?

He must've been cloned from some of Jack's sweat stains.

Now, WHO told the assassin that Jack would be there, hmmmmm?

ok... thanks.

WCME, I assume the Anti-Jack found where Jack was...
by theghostwholurks
By monitoring the FBI's alert channels. He heard when the FBI notified its agents on Jack's position. And was that Trip from Enterprise I saw on the 24 preview for next week???
-
No doubt.
-
eating some tacos jack, you want something?
-
They had an outstanding cast with that one.
-
...when Senator Dumbass got whacked, and when Jack knocked over the portable with a fucking bulldozer. God, I love this fucking show.
-
I think he was right, too. But does anyone else think the writers have written themselves into a corner now? How the frak are they going to get Jack off (heh, "jack off") from a "killing the Senator" charge?
-
I must've missed it during all the times he was painfully wrong.
-
Was able to argue and portray the argument this season is having against itself MUCH better than during the hearing, and through Agent Moss.
It was a legitimate argument (being so far gone, you've forgotten what you're trying to protect) that is something of the theme of the season.
This was a really, really solid episode. And it included Tony eating Tacos. -
Man, what happened to this show?
-
Awaiting the death penalty......but is bailed out when some crisis occurs.
-

Except this whole season has proven the Senator WRONG
by theghostwholurks
Whereas, Jack, for all the instability The Powers That Be have incorrectly attributed to him, has been proven RIGHT at every turn. The country NEEDS men like Jack to protect it from the ugliness it doesn't want to face.
-
Jack never loses 1 vs 1. If only Jack was near a wall, he could have done his awesome swinging-wall run-neck breaker move from season 2.
-
So Renee can subject to a sexy, excuse me, harsh interrogation. -
I think so. Double agent still? I don't know.
-
You'd think after 7 seasons, the bad guys would learn by now. ;)
-
should have threatened to put his foot up Quinn's ass instead of Jack's. Otherwise he'd still be alive.
-
I agree that Jack's been proven right in these cases. And where the argument for the opposing side was weak was in the characters of Moss, Rack Bauer and Senator Red Foreman. What the last testament of Red did, though, was put a coherent and cohesive argument forward as to why what Jack has done throughout the series might not have been best way for Jack to live. He lost his sense of purpose (protecting the government and the people). The line "Let the government who've worked so hard to protect help you now" (paraphrase) worked when laid out in the argument. It's also what made Senator Red's death that much more shocking.
-
It's a fallacy to assume that just because Jack's method was right means that any other method was wrong, or wouldn't have gotten similar results.
-
Reading the posts, seems I wasn't the only one that got surprised when the senator got plugged. WOW, looks like it really hits the fan next week.
-
In the scene where Tony is talking to Jack, Tony is getting in a vehicle with someone else. His double agent days aren't done. He must still be working for Starkwood in some capacity in order to keep them from suspecting him in Emerson's murder.
-
Jack through a flathead screwdriver through a flak jacket and into Quinn's heart, then used the screwdriver as a key with absolutely no problem. What an arm!
-
Tony was hanging with some black ops guys at dinner, ya know.
-
You figure he'd be holed up in a warehouse, not having coffee al fresco in the center of the city.
-
Just like Madeline in the season finale of Burn Notice
-
And speaking of, BURN NOTICE deserves it's own TB already.
-
I love how she is a computer wiz in this show, yet she herself talks about how little she knows about technology and doesn't even own a computer. Is this show just all about walking contradictions?
-
And, of course, this could only mean that Clarence Boddiker actually was going to become an ally to Jack. That's virtually an automatic death sentence as well. This show is so much fun.
-
I think that Morris is the one who designed the encription software. That is how he had the backdoor override code. Another amazing episode in a great season.
-
Seriously, this if this keeps up, we're looking at almost a season 5 level of perfection again. That whole bulldozer fight was awesome, and then next weeks ep looks even more badass. That writers strike really kicked them into high gear, its like every week pays off with a huge action scene now.
-
24 is allowed to suck every few episodes, as long as they have scenes that involve construction machinery and flat head screwdrivers. That was ALMOST as good as Jack putting bullets in a can and shooting them from 20 feet away.
-
Having Janeane turn out to be evil (well, that's not so hard since she is a idiotic shrew in real life) and then having Jack kill her will create a YouTube miniclip for the ages! Millions of hits for years to come!
-
his final words should have been "I've idolized you since season one, Jack...I wanted to BE you..." cough sputter cough.
-
needs its own spin off.
-
when Clarence got whacked! I never do that, even during LOST...
-
Let me get this straight -- you have a sitting U.S. Senator, which means he'd OBVIOUSLY have SOME sort of round the clock security detail assigned to him. He lives in a house where we CLEARLY see that he himself is cautious about his own safety, given that he turns ON the security system for the house even when he's inside......And yet with all of that, you're telling me the assassin rings the friggin' door bell and the Senator just OPENS the door without looking through his peep hole to see who it is first? Or far more laughable that the assassin can wait RIGHT outside the door with a fucking machine gun???
-
Was tony the fugitive in hiding at the fucking outdoor patio of the god damn olive garden?
-
Putting more effort into finding tony if all the main terroists are dead and the one left that they know about is tony? Why did they forget about him and are fixated on jack, is it because moss knows jack and rack are gonna fuck when the day ends and is jealous as fuck? Why don't they check the olive garden!!
-
who can tell me what kinda car that was?
-
Why the fuck would there ever be a backdoor into an encryption algorithm? That defeats the whole point of an encryption algorithm, as it would easily be discovered by hackers looking for exploits. And how does Renee have some ultra-secret encryption on her laptop that's too strong for the FBI to break? Come to think of it, that whole scene was really fucking stupid.

Still bothers me janis didnt get caught when she interfered when
by levidtinker
i really had been hopeing Janis would have gotten hers, for screwing up earlier in the season while jack and rene were trying to track down dubacku. looks like she doesnt get into any sort of trouble for impeeding the investigation by snooping around when she was afraid, chloe was being brought in to replace her.
-
Loved this episode, one of the strongest of this season thusfar...It had Red Foreman finally taking a sip of the 'Jack Bauer kool-aid'. It really was heartfelt that someone older than Jack tried to reason with him, and show him 'balance'. I sort of gasped when Quinn hit him, like, how bad of a day can Jack have(oh, right....duh). Very creepy how Jack pops up like Jason Voorhies in peoples homes(ala' Senator Raines at the end of last season). Gotta love Tony chilling & having an latte at cafe-le'-fu-fu when he got the call from Jack(you see someone in all-black at Starbucks, you know you have a problem). I still hope he's not rouge, and he's still down for the team. Also, I loved Moss's pep talk to the tact team warning them of Bauer's skills("He's got more training than anyone in this room, including me.") Gotta love the GTO(yeah) that Jack cuffed and drove off in. I won't even mention the dope hand-to-hand combat with him and Quinn, we all know how ill that was.
But if you don't enjoy the show anymore due to plot holes, moles, etc...DON"T WATCH! These characters deal in a (say it with me now..) 'alternative version of our present', where a female is pres, and not a Brother. They deal with int'l terror, so it makes *sense* that every season revolves around a similar theme. Have fun with it, enjoy the wonderfully talented actor that Sutherland is, and move on. -
Listen to your wife! This was a good ep. I'm glad they gave Sen. Boddicker some depth and didn't leave him as just another government blowhard. The scene with the loader tipping over the trailer was great, as was the smackdown. And yes, backdoors are used in cryptography, put in by government directive. Agent Moss needs to leave the dammits to the master, however.About Burn Notice--Esposito usually does comedy, but since BN has that laid back vibe, I could see her kinda pulling it off.
-
Uh, you can seperate fact from fiction right? Or do you think the real life america actually does need real Jack Bauers running around to fight the constant nuclear and bioweapon threats our major cities face every day, from all those well organized and outfitted terrorist cells out there. Just like how the communists almost took over, and the anarchists before them.
-
I was losing faith after it seemed like the season was losing the steam for several episodes but the last couple episodes have been excellent.
-
It looked like a late 60s or early 70s mustang to me, but admittedly I'm not much of a car man.
-
throw a screwdriver through a bulletproof vest!! Jack must have the same condition as that kid from "Rookie of the Year". Funky Buttlovin!!!!!!
-
She didn't bug me half as much last night. I don't know if she's starting to grow on me, or if the writers are writing her a little different, or if it's merely the removal of Sean.

Moss will eventualy come around to Jack's side of things.
by stuntcock mike
10 seconds after that, he will die.
-
1969 Plymouth Road Runner
-
Because I was too busy thinking he might be playing Jack and will screw him over once he opens the door to the authorities.
-
It may be too much to ask of Moss, but they may connect the dots from what they were looking at on the Senator's computer(pics of Gordon Ramsey)to the Chef that Jack wasted(they'll find him). Again though, we're taliking about Moss.
-
I'm amazed he didn't crash into a dumpster when he typing away AND plugging the phone (or whatever it was) into the laptop. Solid episode on the whole though. First episode in a long time to specifically hark back to plot details from much earlier seasons. I had to quickly email a friend of mine who is currently watching Seasons 1 and 2, warning him to not watch the first 3 minutes of Jack's conversation with Senator Red. Now that's looking out for your friends.
-
of this season. At the end of next season, he dies.
-
Purple clothes, purple stockings, even purple glasses frames with purple tinted lenses. She's not a mole - she's Grimmis. Next week - Hamburgler infiltrates FBI HQ...
-
I don't know, seems a little far-fetched. For Jack to get out of it, they'll need something way far-fetched (to keep it in line with typical 24 SOP)
-
What the hell is Grimus anyway...?
-
Next season. In order to do so though, they need for us to still be able to emphathize with him, hence all of the reasons they are throwing out to side with him. It's one thing to side with an anti-hero for a full season, but a whole different thing to root for an out-and-out villain. He'll still end up dying though. Didn't they say years ago that it would ultimately end with Jack buying it?
-
Not with potential movies to be made
-
...came standard on the Senator's computer? Or does Jack just know a site he can download and install it from, because I don't think I have anything like that on my computer.

I think he has outdone Ryan Chappelle, George Mason, and that bitch from season 4 who was running CTU for a while with his Jack Hate! WE HAVE TO DEVOTE ALL FBI RESOURCES TO TAKING DOWN JACK BAUER!!!! What a dick! Love it though!
Last night brought us the best 1 on 1 fight of the series... the screwdriver through the chest followed by the 2x4 to the face kill is a classic, only outdone by the Hungry Jack neck bite and the run-up-the-wall neck breaker. The use of the tractor was also quite awesome. -
Iphoto 09 has facial recognition software built in. Not that that's what they were using...
-
Guarantee it. Once they planned that, any Jack Bauer death went out the window.
-
Good.

42 years old. I know that Jack is no spring chicken either, but I thought assassination was a young man's game? Jack's words to the dying Quinn brought back memories of his offering to "make it quick" to the guy who tried to inject him after interrogation back in Season 2. Jack was naked at the time if memory serves correctly. One of the best scenes in 24 (in a season that was full of them - Season 2 rocked, but maybe that's because it was my first. You never forget your first time...only in this case it was actually good).

he wrote it, you uninsightful idiots. The subtext practically spelled it out for you: "The individual who wrote this encryption added a back-door if you know where to find it."
"and you know where to find this back door?"
2 second pause: "of course."
Morris WROTE it, you tards. -
anyone in the IT field who watches this show just laughs out of their chair every monday night. Like when Morris decrypts the file - and instead of an open window showing a yellowy colored folder and a file with a big Microsoft W in the middle of it, this 3D rotating, spinning, cartwheeling graphic of a photo with an address goes "zoo-zoo-zoo-zoooom" on the screen.
seriously - does anyone have a computer whose default interface settings do this? The nearest I can get is "show folder contents when dragging" in Windows XP Pro, and even then, it has to be manually dragged around, and its not a cool blue-neon interface - its just a white window with files in it that Im mouse-dragging around the screen.
The car looked like a GTO but we only saw the back of it briefly. As for the Verizon "air card" he used (nice commercial there, Verizon!), we have 8 of them here - they literally pop in and bam - you're on the internet, so that part wasn't crazy. Doing it while driving in a stolen car at 65-70mph down DC avenues? Youd be dead before the first intersection.
And kinda funny how a show who wants you to know is "going green" is driving around in classic street cars, belching out more toxins than an Iraqi military research base. I guess they all wore canvass shoes that day to balance their footprint.
I mentioned this already: I think it was suggested that Morris is the guy who wrote that encryption. I also think he was right - If it was his own brother running from the FBI, you dont send the mother of your children to prison for 15 years because of some loyalty to some guy who works at her office.
also, anyone who doesn't pack TWO TOOTHBRUSHES is not thinking ahead. When Jon Voight says to pack PJs and a toothbrush, and you only pack ONE toothbrush, you fail. And STOP CRYING ABOUT PEOPLE BEING DEAD YOU BIG SISSY. -
Set up from the beginning that Rackles trusted him, and that his dislike for Jack was based on a combination of disapproval and jealousy. But he has hindered Jack at every chance, delayed, handcuffed, etc, Jack at every chance, and will only relent when ordered. He is not jealous or disapproving, he sees Jack as a threat to his plans. He was on the phone telling someone where Jack has not been seen, change your search to here... We assumed it was field agents, but it could have been hospital assassin. After learning where Bauer was, his reaction was not fear for the Senator, but fear of what Jack could learn from the Senator. He sent Hospital Assassin there, delayed, then sent metro, and followed with his own team.He gives the Shoot On Sight Order.Agent Moss is working for Voight.
-
he did give a speech to his troops that definitely slowed them up ... you may be spot on.
-
It was actually a Sprint card, not Verizon. Either way the product placements have been pretty annoying this season, although I can't really complain too much considering I fast forward through the commercials.
-
should have knocked Quinn the fuck out immediately, if not outright kill him. I know I wouldn't be conscious if I was smashed in the face like that. Oh, and a flathead lodged in my heart.
-
First time I've jumped watching a tv show in ages. Who would have thought THAT was going to happen to Robojudge? Good stuff.

chrth: I predict a Showdown: Moss, Bauer--Rackles has to....
by chromedome
...choose, and has to shoot Moss.
-
I wonder if they can keep Voight interesting for an entire half-season, though. I would rather they killed off the Chief of Staff, say, than the senator, because he was one of the more interesting characters this season. I also think that they should have kept the assassin alive, possibly even through the end of the season, as a Nina-esque villain.
-
Go back and look at the first two episodes. When Bauer went with Chesty Freckles to "gather intel" via Jack threatening some dude within an inch of his life, and the shooter on the roof across the street took everyone out except Jack and Chesty, Moss called out an incorrect # of people dead, assuming that Jack was killed as well (as he had hoped and planned with his group's sniper in place). No one else jumped on this one. Now -- trust me. 24 writers don't make mistakes like that. 2 guys were killed. Moss said there were 3. C'mon -- someone with TIVO back me up here!
-
...these last two episodes have been absolutely wonderful and reaffirm my faith in the show.
-
The second he threw his lot in with Jack - with almost half a season left to go - he was a dead man walking.
-
I was a bit surprised at Senator Red Foreman buying it. I thought he was just going to run into the cops arms and say "Get HIM!" Else, Figured he was on the BlackStarWood (whatever it's called) mercenary dole. I was expecting cops on the other side of door, not evil-superspy.
GREAT ep. I started with Season 5. Nearly quit after 6. Enjoying the heck out of this one. The judicious use of a bulldozer sold me. -
Last I checked, 148 bit is not a power of two. And who the hell uses blowfish over twofish? And no, there are no government directed back doors put into encryption algorithms (maybe into MS Windows). Just like they wouldn't have left a backdoor in that stupid CIP module. You'd fundamentally be jeopardizing the security of the nation. These algorithms are all heavily scrutinized open source. And it's not like the government would need a backdoor in a "148" bit cipher anyway. The NSA could brute force crack that in under a minute, if not a few seconds.

calm down you nerd...
