HD SOUTH PARK!! LOST!! KILL!! MAD MEN!! BURN NOTICE!! EVERWOOD!! CHUCK JONES!! WEEDS!! HercVault!!
SPOILER ALERT !!
I am – Hercules!!

The 12th season of “South Park”
saw Cartman give Kyle AIDS, Britney Spears lose her head, Kenny and Gerald transported by housecats into the 1981 stoner cartoon “Heavy Metal,” the Canadians go on strike, Mrs. Garrison clone a new wiener, Randy battle an Internet ghost in California, escaping thieves take hostages in Pioneer Village, the gang mourn the violation of Indiana Jones, Wendy Testaburger school Eric Cartman, the boys form a Peruvian pan-flute band, Craig prove the key to preventing furry apocalypse, Barack Obama and John McCain divvy up loot, Mr. Queermo try to slap away his son’s love of sports and vampires menace Butters. Butters rules.
Bonus features (at least on the unbleeped Blu-ray edition) include:
* “Six Days To South Park”: A Day-By-Day Making of South Park. This feature uses commentary, animatics and rough-draft animation to demonstrate how the writing and animation of the show happen concurrently. It also demonstrates why these guys can only make seven or eight episodes at a time.
* “Making Boobage: Behind The Scenes.” More commentary, animatics and rough animation. Learn that while a Corvett was used in the movie “Heavy Metal,” the flying car in the parody was a Trans Am. Learn that a real half-naked model was hired to pose as the girl atop the giant bird.
* “Behind The Scenes: About Last Night.” Learn via this audio commentary over a rough cut that Kyle’s family were originally depicted as McCain supporters, but changed party affiliation due to a need to get Kyle and Stan together faster. Learn that the same reporters were used for both the Britney Spears and Barack Obama episodes. Learn that Cartman looting TV sets was originally a much bigger part of the episode. Learn that Trey Parker personally completes the final edit on every episode.
* Mini-commentaries by Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Learn that the Britney Spears show was originally intended to be the first episode, but a crisis of faith led to the AIDS episode launching the season. Learn that Cartman’s AIDS outfit was based on the one Tom Hanks wore in “Philadelphia.” Learn that Parker considers the Spears episode one of the five most polarizing. Learn that a “mini-Korea” had to be set up for three weeks to handle the hand-drawn animation employed in “Major Boobage.” Learn that the worst part of “Major Boobage” was “having to watch ‘Heavy Metal’ three times.” Learn that Parker was disappointed to learn that he wouldn’t get to participate in the writers’ strike. Learn that Parker can’t believe Comedy Central didn’t censor the “he slimed me” semen gag from the Internet episode. Learn that the original idea for “Super Fun Time” had nothing to do with “Die Hard”; it was going to be about Pioneer Village actors staying in character during a Katrina-like storm. Learn that Parker lost his voice due to flu during the Indiana Jones rape episode. Learn that Parker fears someone will someday make a cartoon featuring him raping Kyle and Stan. Learn the Cartman vs. Wendy episode was a holdover from the previous season. Learn that the giant guinea pig idea came out of an idea about testing a steroid that would make the failing economy grow. Learn that “The Startling” was inspired in part by the movie “Quarantine,” because it startled audiences more than it scared them. Learn that Parker thought “Cloverfield” would have been a lot better if it was rated “R” so the characters could say “Fuck!” instead of “Oh my God!” Learn that Parker considered making “Pandemic” in part about the Obama-McCain election. Learn that Parker intended to make a McCain-win version of the election episode (airing the day after the election) as well as an Obama-win, but ran out of time and wound up preparing just the Obama-win version. Learn that Parker likes Soderburgh’s “Ocean’s 11,” but thought “12” and “13” “ridiculously bad.” Learn that the season-finale vampire episode was inspired by an abandoned ending for the “High School Musical” episode.

I have only this to say about the second season of "Caroline in the City"
: 31-year-old Amy Pietz as Annie Spadaro.

You're supposed to win something for commenting first, right?
What's that.....no? Then why the hell is eveybody so happy when they post a comment 1st? What's the big deal? -
NOT!!
-
Mainly important to people who like to see their name written down somewhere as if they didn't write it themselves. Like sitting on your hand before a private session.
Coincidentally, they also like it because it means they don't have to scroll down, which is good as that aggravates the RSI in their wrist. -
I'll replace those two, but there's no way I'm replacing my South Park collection with Blu-Ray, should they start pumping out the old series in that format. I am but a man.
-
If I had a time machine I would travel back, show Trey & Matt the shit episodes that came out over the last few seasons (Don't know exactly when it began to suck completely. I guess 'Good Times With Weapons' was the last good episode.) and would tell them something like: "It's a fanmade parody of your show. This is how it would look like if two complete douchebags would make it."They would probably write an own episode about this afterwards, where they make fun of it, not knowing that they mock what they will become in just a few years. Then a temporal paradox appears and destroys the whole fucking universe. But that's okay, because I don't wanna life in a world where it's more important for the SP creators to please fanboys with making millions of "Look, it's ______, winkwinknudgenudge" jokes per episode and making them feel smart by saying: "____________are crazy, but we are crazy too, so the whole world is crazy, hahaha", instead of being funny and finding interesting views on the craziness of this planet.
-
Great show.
-
Son of a lady dog.
-
I'm buying that. Provided our economy hasn't totally collapsed, riots aren't filling the streets, and I've still got electricity.
-
Now that's how crime drama should be done.
Where's my wallet?.... -
are absolutely some of the worst Tom & Jerry cartoons ever. It's jarring to see, really. If you want good Tom & Jerry just watch the old school ones.
-
That is about 2 years longer than it should have taken. I have purposely NOT bought the DVDs waiting on the Blu. Happy Happy! And before you poor ass motherfuckers start bitching about Blu and the prices, I can afford it, I got a job. And $48.99 aint bad for a season of TV, on DVD or Blu. SO, fuck da haters.
-
I agree. I respect the hell out of Chuck Jones, but his Tom and Jerry's were the worst ones to watch. Pick up the three volume set of originals instead. Loving those.
-
Needs more coverage on this site.
-
AKA The Starter Wife
-
Those were some of the best of those cartoons. While on this topic does anybody know if WB has any plans to release character themed sets? I'm talking a complete Roadrunner & Coyote set, a Foghorn Leghorn set, a Bugs set, and most important, a Daffy set.
I love the Looney Tunes Golden Collections but they're a chore to sort through and find your favorite cartoons. And sometimes you just feel like a Daffy Duck marathon, know what I mean? -
i have it in my shopping cart but undecided as to whether or not to get it. but yeah, its been 11.99 since i placed it there many weeks back.
-
i have seasons 1 and 2 but shortly after i got em they announced the show would end in 2010 and all so i havent bought seasons 3 or 4, instead waiting for the eventual full series collection. but now with blu-ray, i'll just get that full set when it eventually comes. i'm not patient often when it comes to series and all but go me this time, especially since season 1 and 2 were xmas presents anyway.
-
Was not very funny at all, but the Fred Quimby era was super-hilarous.
-
Please tell me they're using that as the cover art. MILF indeed!!
Also, being released in June, Season 5 should be out about then too right?!? Can't wait. -
ever in the history of the bbc. absolutely appalling. Two of the finest actors of thier generations drowning in shit in a weekly basis. ugh.
-
zoe wannamaker, daughter of the legendary Sam Wannamaker and Robert Lindsay is the other actor.
-
robbie coltranes finest hour. suberb stuff. I had an argument about cracker with a friend. I said it was my favourite cop show. and he said its not a cop show. I maintain that is a cop show. he said otherwise. Best cop ever written. is cracker.
-
It was the first time that I had heard of Lorcan Cranitch. easily one of the best irish actors of his generation. Really great. if you are not shocked by the demise Chris Ecclestone, then nothing will. easily the finest hour of british tv that I have ever seen. Truly magnificent.
-
I think the show is still watchable (for the most part) but, you can mark its decline - the moment it "Jumped the shark", to use that stupid pop culture phrase - with the Imaginationland episodes...it's a cool concept, it was fun seeing all those cartoon characters in the background, and the themeof the episode was interesting and smart...but, unfortunately, there's a fatal flaw...those episodes are not fucking funny. They're just all concept. And that's almost every episode of last season...a cool concept, but not particularly funny. The Britney Spears episode: genius concept, makes a great point: not funny. The heavy metal episode: great concept, cool animation: not funny....These guys have gone from being punk anarchists to the type of Syd Field/Joseph Campbell enamored douchebags who call Roland Emmerich movies "solid". It's ironic that the more their writing "improves", the less enjoyable the show is.
-
Imaginationland not funny?? With Cartman's code name for Butters and the dream of Cartman's testes turning to dust?? Crazy talk.
-
Been downloading HD epsiodes on my 360 but it's about full
We need Blu -

season 12 sucked, but not the seasons before
by supercowbell4therequestformorecowbell
but the good to bad episode ratio was rising then it hit its limit in season 12. 9 is when it declined apparently but it had hilarious episodes in there. the losing edge anyone?!?! awesome.

Bring back the funny, South Park.
-
Unless you are one of these simple minds who laugh when they see a character from their favourite movie or cartoon in the background. "Look, it's _____________! Hilarious!" Isn't this pretty much the same thing that Friedberg and Seltzer do in their movies?
-
awesome
-
c'mon...the Saving Private Ryan bit with Ronald McDonald? FUNNY!
-
Rumor has it Universal will issue the entire series on Blu-ray July 28.
-
Hope they do entire seasons and not the asshat 2.0, 2.5 ect
-
Although the Chuck Jones T&J are SO Chuck Jones its kinda hard to get over
-
You know, the new Spectacular Spider Man isn't great, but why the hell do they have to volumize it instead of releasing season sets? Grr.
Also, I'm trying to remember the name of a series. It was like CSI in the Old West. It was only on for like one season a couple of years back. I know that's not much to go on. The main guy was British, I think. -
In a very non-homophobic way, but could the guys on the cover of the PARKER LEWIS CAN'T LOSE box look any MORE GAY??? The answer is clearly no.
-
I thought the Heavy Metal episode was a total blast - but I am biased because of the nostalgia factor. It also gets extra WTF credit for Cartman's hiding of cats as a parody of Anne Frank, saving Jews, etc. They still have their genius moments. The Breast Cancer Show Ever where Wendy beats the shit out of Cartman was a keeper too, but yes, the quality is down overall. The Britney episode has a fantastic point to make and a funny parody of "The Lottery", but it's still very hard to watch. As time has gone on, their lackadaisical (or sometimes ignorant) view of politics has begun to bother me. I especially hate the ManBearPig episode where they equate global warming with some myth that Al Gore just made up. WTF??? How much did the Republicans pay them for that one? Are they THAT stupid?? I have a feeling they'll be embarrassed by that and a few other episodes. How about when they basically said that there was no difference between the douche and turd candidates?? Oh yeah, four more years of Bush didn't make any real difference at all. Kerry would have been just as bad. In what fucking reality?! Matt and Trey are funny as hell, but they are stunningly obtuse on the last 8 years of Hell. I guess money buys that sort of indifference.
-
AGREE. The only reasons to watch "Caroline in the City" was this hot woman sporting her cleavage and legs. Sort of a trashy Marisa Tomei clone in her prime.
-
really enjoys being the meat in a man sandwich.
-
in the sense that we are going to cause the destruction of the world is a myth mate
-
...but thankfully, there WILL be more MAD MEN.
-
You know, now that we finally have Parker Lewis coming out, I need to trun my attention to getting The Maxx on dvd. I loved that series!!
