UPDATED!! Here's A New HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE (Excuse Me, I Mean HP6) Trailer!!
Merrick again...
Seems the site linked in my original post is horny to install adware on some readers' systems.
If you don't wanna chance this, HERE is a link to another site - featuring the same QuickTime options - apparently pulling the trailer directly from Warner's servers.
You can also grab it (with HD options) from Yahoo (HERE).

Merrick here...
Yesterday...amidst the dizzying badassity of the new STAR TREK trailer (HERE) and fever pitched WATCHMania...a new trailer for HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE made its way onto The Net.
To answer numerous accusations, no...we weren't ignoring it. We were just distracted...and are easily distractible.
You can find the new trailer...in all forms of Glorious QuickTime...
HERE!!!
It features many nicely atmospheric shots of Gandalf fighting with Wizard Power.
I notice this trailer isn't posted on the film's official site yet (HERE); I'm not sure what this means. I also notice that the film's official site has adopted the acronym "HP6" for this installment.
Ya know? Good God...

First post!?

That was the first and last time I'll ever do that...
-
HP6?
My God...my dear dear God. -
That link just lit up my AVG antivirus like a Christmas tree. What was that?
-
Me too. I had some pop up adware trying to install
-
Still distracted are we? ;-)
-
seriously, with each film they saturate the colors more and more and add blue filters to the point where it makes dark city look like heaven. Why don't they just get on with it and make the last two black and white??
Seems like they are also tossing out the great Williams HP theme. :( only faint notes of it here and there. -
those HD Quicktime trailers man! That's some good looking shit.
-
. . . wait, nope, you don't have one.
-
Seriosuly. It's useless for video files, yet people still zip them up. So annoying.
-
No adware, good links and whatnot?

Hope this turns out better than the posters were making it sound. Love the series.
-
I overlooked it there earlier. Thanks for the heads up.
-
...the music continues to suck. Seriously, why involve him in the first place if you weren't going to have him score all seven films? Instead, the guy who turned in the worst post-Williams piece is scoring the rest of them. Gag.
-
HP7 and then subsequently HP7:II

It would be nice to see this series end on a strong note, especially given how underwhelming it has mostly been. Hard to believe the franchise has survived this many films, considering how dull the characters are. With THE LORD OF THE RINGS, I actually worried about all the members of the Fellowship. With the HARRY POTTER films, when I'm honest with myself, I have to admit I don't care who lives or dies. I keep wanting to feel the same fervor as others do for these films but I consistently forget about each one as I exit the theater door.
-
Voldermort, you shall not pass!
-
and i hate the series.
-
Atrocious. At least Patrick Doyle, with "Goblet of Fire", had the excellent and absolutely beautiful track "Harry in Winter".
-
Don't tell me HP6 is not the long anticipated sequel to ID4!
-
it's called irony mate-i guess the stereotype of Americans not understanding the concept may have some truth to it ;-) Though i'll admit-it's hard to tell sometimes when just reading text, so fair dos. Next time I'll be sure to include a vocal tonation recording and a flow diagram. (damn it!-there i go again...) ;-)

Is Voldemort in this one? Pass if not.

Where's Voldemort? You're kidding, right? He's all over the trailer.

Wait, AICN is covering a movie besides Watchmen?
by willardgreensthunderballs
Best book of the series, IMO. But the last two movies have sucked soooo hard, I can't help but be worried for this.
-
Williams was brilliant with the first three films, especially with the third. Even reading Deathly Hallows, I thought "He NEEDS to come back for this one."
Doyle was the best post Williams composer, particularly with "Voldemort" (the graveyard scene cue), and I was surprised he wasn't asked to do more of them.
Nicholas Hooper is the WORST replacement for Williams. All but two of his cues from Order were forgettable, and really that's not what the fans want for the final movies. (Come to think of it, it would have been nice if they scrapped Yates altogether after the hackjob he did with Order.) -
Hackjob indeed. I was very surprised to see him get the job for the rest of the series. What a terrible decision.
-
An entire group of smoky wannabe villains led by Mrs. Burton don't mean SHIT without Ralph Fiennes. Very disappointing. Hope he kicks major, terrifying blood soaked ass in the last 2 films. The kids are not cute anymore, and GoF was the first time since the second film that I actually enjoyed watching Harry Potter. Ralpf Fiennes shows up and starts picking off these bratty little bastards and it SAVED the franchise.
-
So why do I fear disappointment?
-
I seriously CANNOT believe where the series has gone after the brilliant Alfonso Cuaron delivered something truly special with Prisoner of Azkaban. I'm guessing the fact that Prisoner made less money than the first two Columbus flicks set the alarm bells ringing at WB so they decided not to make any more decisions based on credibility. Because David Yates had only directed TVMs before doing Order of the Phoenix WB probably had more power over him, so told him to deliver the shortest movie. IMO Order is the worst movie, the worst score, maybe even the worst acting (the kids focussing too much on 'ACTING' actually had an adverse effect IMO. Cuaron got better performances out of the main three in Prisoner)
-
And their acting has sucked since PoA, which is by far the best movie (see what happens when they get a real director??). Ralph is great, but it's not like he's carried the series or anything. This movie series has been nothing short of underwhelming.
-
fuckin awesome...the second best book in the series...hopefully too much doesnt get cut out. ootp was pretty good, but so fuckin much was cut. but hey that book was alot of fuckin filler. but it still pissed me off when kreachers role and ron playing quidditch was cut. 3 is the best flick so far. then 4. would be the best if they didnt cut outta that one to. i was cuaron would come back for deathly hallows though. he is perfect for this series.
-
Well said, brah.
-
Did you actually watch this trailer?
You can't go by the IMDB listings all the time, the only incarnation of Voldermort listed is the 11 yr old Tom Riddle, and well the people who have read the books will also know that we will get to see several different age incarnations.
You're right these are getting darker, and while I wasn't too keen on OotP when I first watched it (screaming kids should not be allowed in a cinema ^^) I have got some enjoyment from it in recent viewings, although GoF was the best filmed book so far.
The best thing I am forseeing with this film is getting rid of Gambo, although he better act his socks off -
Gambon* cause yea I fail at typing ^^
-
Just brilliant. There are at least 4 cues/tracks on that soundtrack that are on my all-time favorite list. And overall, Williams did a great job giving the entire soundtrack a medieval feel.
-
just as a Tom Riddle in flash backs, but don't worry he's in the next one.
-
The wait for DH will be harrowing
-
that better mean Hermoine gets eaten out.
-
To... uh... Cher... or somebody?
-
"I'm a big girl now" car exiting critch shot? Honestly...from what I've read..this just might suck the worst..as supposedly they have substantially changed things.
-
...onscreen. Visually it's a completely different beast than it was six movies ago. I'm looking forward to seeing this progress to its ultimate end, although I'm really feeling the absence of John William's score now. I hope they bring him back to cap it off with the last installment. And there's something about HP in the summer that just doesn't feel right. WB, bring back the holiday releases!!!

in a far superior film trilogy?
All you Potter fairies, start your
vibrators. -
I gather they open the movie with scenes of London under siege rather than with the muggle Prime Minister being visited in his office. That's a bone head move.
-
While a composer has not been officially announced, John Williams has gone on record saying he wants to return to score "Deathly Hallows." And really...if David Yates passes on the legendary John Williams in favor of his buddy Nicholas Fucking Hooper, then Yates is a fucking moron.John Williams for Daethly Hallows! Yes, We Can!
-
after all, he bared it on Broadway, right?
-
No, we won't see the PM from what I understand, but they have added a battle scene at the Burrow (Weasley's house). Williams would be nice, but when asked to come back previously, he had scheduling conflicts. Haven't heard anything about him coming back. Would be awesome! This one looks to have a lot, and for the last two I think they'll include everything if they can. Mild sensuality is for kissing scenes. Just a bit over 4 months! Can't wait!
-
I now have no interest.
The ending was too lame for me. -
bunch of uglies.
-
Bui this was my least favourite book, so we shall see.

I wish they'd go back to releasing HP movies at the end of the y
by sifodyasjr.
They feel more like Christmas type movies than summer ones. I've been very happy with this series post-Columbus.
-
If they can't get Williams back, Broughton would be a SPLENDID replacement, and it's a shame he hasn't scored a theatrical movie since **1998**.
-
And finish the last two with Williams. The last film was color graded to death, this one also has that color grading that makes it look cheap like a scifi channel movie. I don't get the approach to these films, they need humor, the books are hilarious. Yeah the book gets darker but the darkest movie in the series is still chamber of secrets and it had some humor at least. David Yates mad a snooze fest out of OOTP, the one book that had an excellent set up t make an exciting action picture out of one Harry Potter book, but instead it was conversation after conversation explaining what is happening. So far I've felt like I've been watching a lot of scooby doo. This one I will probably skip and watch on DVD as a rental even though I've seen every one in the theatre. Sadness.
-
You are dead right about the colour grading - I don't know WHAT they have been thinking but I've always been told that it's good in the grade to make skin tones actually look like skin tones. HOWEVER I disagree about Columbus - I genuinely hated his movies, and I think the films only got good with Cuaron's episode. Mike Newall struck gold too with a very engaging ep (though less 'arty' so it will always been regarded as less good than Azkaban). OOTP wasn't up to the standard of those two - let's see what happens this summer...
