Published at:  Feb 24, 2009 9:08:03 PM CST

SPOILER ALERT !!

I am – Hercules!!

An interview with Juliana Margulies in the new issue of TV Guide (the one with “Dancing With The Stars” star Cheryl Burke on the cover) reveals details of her reunion with George Clooney on “ER.” Bullet points:

* Clooney and Margulies shot for two days.

* Their scenes will apparently be seen in the series finale.

* The original plan was to keep their return a secret, but the paparazzi that constantly shadows Clooney’s movements may have derailed that plan.

* Doug Ross and Carol Hathaway will interact with the Parminder Nagra and Linda Cardellini characters.

* The Rosses apparently have twin girls in the fourth grade.

* Longtime showrunner John Wells scripted their scenes.

Find this and more on page 14 of the March 2 edition of TV Guide (which has restored listings for the CW and MTV), on sale now.

What if the past 15 years were just the imaginations of an autistic kid? Wait, that's been done.

    Coming back for Carter's funeral?

    by eyeofpolyphemus

It would be funny, considering they skipped Greene's.

an ER post? Well, color me shocked...

    by delatao

I thought everyone just pretended this show ended 6 ears ago. I've enjoyed the show a great deal. It's not the flashiest or most exciting but I never had to stop watching it like Desperate Housewives, Brothers and Sisters, or Heroes and then lie about ever watching it. It used to be as good as Sorkin era WW but I dont feel it ever jumped the shark. People keep leaving but they kept telling good stories. And this final season has been continuity porntastic. I'll miss it when its gone.

Thanks, I needed the sleep. Clooney could appear as an egocentric ham actor whose films--exempting those supported by profitable co-players--lay ostrich eggs at the boxoffice. Flash forward to 2012 (he's cast as a starlet's father in a FRIDAY THE 13TH sequel).

the John Stamos character was supposed to get a spinoff.

    by boomers_lips

John Stamos revealed on Howard Stern that the ER producers approached him about giving his character Dr. Tony Gates a spinoff show. John was onboard but he revealed that they couldn't work out a story for his character and the whole thing was scrapped.

I'm with you. Carter, of all the many MANY characters on ER, deserves a happy ending. And they better not screw up the Ross family's happy ending, either. If they must kill off an old-timer, bring back Benton and off that humorless SOB.

Actually, they DID return for Greene's funeral. They had no speaking lines, but they were two of the people in the crowd at his burial.

I'm enjoying the old casty members returning. If they kill off Carter though I'm going to be royally pissed.

How do you bookend the series if you don't kill off Carter?

    by big jim

Didn't the series begin with his first day? Unless they end it with the closing of County forever, and since Carter stopped working there years ago, it makes sense to end the series with Carter's death. The hospital was there before Carter, and will be there after he is gone. That brief period of time in which we, the audience, witness the going-ons at the hospital, began with Carter. It would create a sense of symmetry to end our passive participation in the lives of the staff at County with the final exit of John Carter. That being said, yes, it would be nice to see him get a happy ending because a guy who's been through as much as he has certainly does deserve it.
