FANBOYS continues to expand! Minneapolis, Baltimore, Miami, Pitt, Orlando, Indianapolis, KC, Providence, Greensboro, Memphis+

Published at:  Feb 24, 2009 6:22:56 PM CST

Hey folks, Harry here... This is kinda of remarkable that this movie just refuses to go quietly into DVD. Instead spreading like a virus infecting new areas weekly. Again, there's no real marketing campaign to let you folks know this is playing in your area, other than Ernie Cline personally emailing expansion news from time to time to his favorite websites... but here we go. This is where you can see a really geeky fun flick...

ANBOYS INVADES ELEVEN MORE CITIES THIS FRIDAY!

FANBOYS will expand (again!) into its largest release yet, adding 11 new cities for the weekend of February 27th! In total FANBOYS will be showing in 24 cities on 46 screens.

The new regions include: Minneapolis, Baltimore, Miami, Pittsburgh, Orlando, Indianapolis, Kansas City, Providence RI, Greensboro NC, Memphis and Cleveland.

You can see the FANBOYS trailer and find local show times (via the downloadable widget) at fanboys-themovie.com. Fanboys features Kristen Bell, Seth Rogen, Carrie Fisher, and William Shatner!

    by toadkillerdog

I have friends who want to Join AICN, but there seems no way to do so at the moment. Several months ago Mori mentioned a new system was going into place that had frozen all new accounts. Any word on when that might be finished?

    World Premiere

    by movieman742

I work at the Marcus Theaters Pickerington. Last friday the Lennox in Columbus had the "premiere" at the 9:50 showing. Some friends and I went and we had a great time. The 501st was there as well as the writer, director, and 2 producers. They had a Q&A after the screening also. There were a few questions that I found enjoyable. One of them was about getting Mark Hamil to do a cameo. One of the producers took the mic "Some people are greedier than others" hahaha great stuff. He then said that their was just a mis understanding about what they wanted Mark to play. Mark didn't want to play Luke again and he thought that was what he was gonna be doing. Actually, all the cameos were just random characters that the group meets so there were just a mix up with who he was gonna play. Another great one was when a person asked a question and mentioned the Weinsteins. I watched on the producers put his head down and like was grinding his teeth a bit and shook his head a little. very subtle but it looked like there was still some "issues" between the two camps.

Overall it was a great experience. I took some pics so when I load them to my laptop I'll send them into harry if he hasn't already received some from the screening.

    by hallmitchell

That's what counts. I'm glad it's expanding. Yet this movie I guess would cost around $6-10 million minimum.

Saw this last night in Minneapolis...

    by 2dope

They only released it in 3 theaters here, and the one I bought my tickets for called me 2 hours prior to the showtime (9:30) and said they still hadn't received their print! I got my refund and called one of the other theaters to verify they had their print, and all was right in the galaxy. Got to the theater and there was maybe 20 people in there. I can honestly say that this is one of the funniest films I have seen. If you're a Star Wars fan, it's simply a must see. My wife, who likes Star Wars enough to go with me, said she loved it and wants to go see it again tonight! Hits every note just right, has a touching side story, and is, in the end, the perfect fan film. If you haven't gotten the chance to see this yet, I couldn't recommend it more.
