This is probably the wrong way to market this...

    by themarinebiologist

Don't show the unbearable scenes in the trailers... show the good ones, so that people go into the movie thinking that it's going to be good. It's probably going to be shitty anyway, but at least the audience fooled themselves into going.

Will Ferrell, you're a nice guy... you're a nice guy... but I don't fucking cut it when your bullshit and you're fucking around like this on set.

Comedians have a short shelf life...

    by conspiracy

Once you've seen their schtick a few times...well it just gets tiresome, you know the story; They start wanting to branch out, do "Serious" parts, they get a few good reviews for a role and start actually believing they actually can act...then next thing you know...they just suck..not good actors..not funny..they just suck all around. Later..if they have made enough scratch, they shack up with the pass around former playmate of the year and spend years plotting a comeback that will inevitably fail. I'm hoping that maybe Ferrell will avoid that well worn script..and have the sack to simply retire after this.

If it simply must be a comedy,

    by dingbatty

this was the wrong sort to apply to it, silliness. It would be better to play the milieu's creepy, mindbending, high concept sciffy straight, and and have a Marshall who is like Sawyer from LOST cracking wise and physically and mentally railing at his situation.

    by hipnosismag

I use to watch the tv show way back when and although it was sometimes campy, it was never this silly. I really think this is going to be the worst tv adaption yet. This looks just bad, really bad. I don't even think I'll see it on dvd....I think I'll just keep my IQ points.

    by quake ii

You guys help me out. I'm new to this whole "humor" thing. I did like the original Land Of The Lost when I was 6 and watched some Land Of The Lost recently. The show isn't funny, cute or light. It was actually dark as fuck for saturday morning kiddie fare. I know some legit sci-fi writers worked on Land Of The Lost and there was a very disturbing tone to some of the episodes. How did they come up with this silly shit for a film translation? Oh yeah, EVERYTHING that came out in the 70's needs to be spoofed and laughed at now. The 70's were campy! I totally forgot!

    by liljuniorbrown

I finaly got to see The Wrestler and for some reason there was a trailer for this movie in front of it. Probably the Super Bowl one that everyone has seen. I'm just not buying into it. I love Anchorman,Talladega Nights,Step Brothers and even got a few good laughs out of Semi Pro, but to me he's miscast in PG movies. It's kind of like Adam Sandler, you either love him or hate him,but he's more like able in an unhinged R rated comdey. Thats my opinion anyways.

Quake II: agreed on the campification of old TV show adaptations

    by nasty in the pasty

On one hand, you have the movie version of Starsky & Hutch (dumbbell 70's satire), and on the other hand you have the movie version of Miami Vice (dead-serious thriller). Imagine "whacky" comedy movie versions of The Fugitive, Mission: Impossible, The Untouchables, ect.
