Cute! First glimpse of Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Ramona Flowers in Edgar Wright's SCOTT PILGRIM!
Ahoy, squirts! Quint here. Now this is just adorable.

Edgar Wright's been teasing us with a photo a day on his MySpace page. We've seen everything from snow to medicine and now we get a little Ramona. If there was any doubt that Ms. Winstead was perfect for the role, I think you unfaithful might need to make some amends. Look at the eyes! Cute cute cute!

look at the hair more like...and ramona changes her hair often in the comic...are they going to reflect that in the film?
-
Not even a nostril? This movie is dead to me.
What the hell is this again? -
the biggest challenge is whether cera can be cool...we've really only seen him play the underdog, the geek etc...scott pilgrim is an impossibly cool, hot guy...cera was an odd choice imo, despite his comedic acting talent
-
And that is Michael Cera.
-
Will they change it into a galactuan cloud?### A V A T A R - FUCKING YOUR EYEBALLS IN 2009 ###

is well worth using..... I mean watching....

Guess it breaks the tension between the sex and the city updates. -
would be cute, regardless.

scott pilgrim is the funniest comic i've ever read. i for one can't wait for this movie...however miscast i think it is. all the actors are great, i just don't think they suit the roles.
-
I'd fuck 'er.
-
...this is great.

It's McClane holding a fucking book over her face...
by caruso_stalker217
What's so great about it?
-
Anyone bitching about all the Scott Pilgrim news has clearly never read Scott Pilgrim. This should be rectified asap.
Rammmmoonnnaa! I'd be her dipping sauce bitch. -
...wasn't my cup of tea.
-
If you look at the little girl that played young Lucy McClane in the original DIE HARD, I thought that then looking at Winstead, it was perfectly reasonable that looks-wise that girl could've grown up to have a similar appearance to Winstead (well and she acted it capably, too).
-
that picture does nothing for me at all...I mean theres not any indication of any I can see showing up in the finished film. Except maybe the haircut. You might as well have posted any photo of Winstead and said "yeah, she playing this one chick". But I still dont get the other complaints here.I mean, PeterWatts :dude what do you want? The site reports a wide variety of news and occasionally a Scott PIlgrim report pops up-they arent giving it overkill, and plenty of people care about seeing it. Do you want the site to be exclusive to just stories you care about? I mean I dont watch LOST but I dont complain when there are massive talkbacks dedicated to it...
-
Neat. So, uh, any Watchmen news?
-
It's distracting.
-
waste o time
-
because the CN Tower is in the background and why else (other than TIFF) would he be in Toronto...
-
???????
-
the entire movie takes place in and around toronto and is filming, did you think that might be the reason he's there?
-
Smith is giving half hour q&as twice a day after screenings of his films at the Bloor Cinema in Toronto. Someone who works there tells me Wright will join him on stage for one of them but doesn't know which one.
-
Winstead is so cute that I've been comparing all other girls to her. As you can imagine, this has been quite detrimental to my love life or lack there of.Since I'm enshrouded in an ice storm I might as well as watch SPACED all day.Edgar, I hope this is kick ass and Winstead better be treated well or... I'll only watch one episode of SPACED today instead of the whole damned thing! (this is the furthest extent of my terrorism capabilities)

whenver i see scott pilgrim listed as a *comic book* its right up there with "lenore" for the genre-humping, shittily-made comic book prize. EVERYONE HAS HUGE EYES LIKE ANIME! I USE STUPIDLY THICK INKING TO DISGUISE MY LACK OF TALENT! ... /facepalm
-
That shit is not sexy... man.
-
Curse you Kusanagi for sorta' kinda' nearly beating me to that joke!
-
Ah, damn!
-
I was trying to press delete. god damnit.
-
based on it's manga influences clearly hasn't got anything better to do right now.

I want to fill in Miss Winstead. I wanna butter her muffin.

Why this minx isn't in every single film going I'll never know.
-
is the funniest comic being published, that I have come across. Except for the new volume five, which is not so much funny as rather disturbing at times. And Cera is all wrong for the part. He's not cute, for one thing. He's not awesome, for another. Scott is effortlessly amazing.
-
does anyone know if is true that Quint is leaving the site to become a screen writer? read the news on fracking joblo and there is nothing here to confirm it, or did I miss the farewell news?
-
She has the assests!
-
to be Ramona. Ramona is supposed to be darned cute, but not particularly pretty. But I'll stop picking nits for the moment.
-
Can't anyone get any adaptation right?!!
Personally, I'm a little concerned at the complete apathy in every Scott Pilgrim talkback. As a Hollywood insider, believe me when I say that all the major studios take the length of a Talkback as a major indication of a movie's future success. We all do it. And the fact that every post here is full of "What the fuck is this? She's cute, though." comments is disheartening. The books aren't hard reads, give them a looksie. Very observant, funny and, in the last couple of volumes, quite wry, too. If you aren't down with the cutesy, overly-referential style, then fair does, but it might be worth getting over your prejudices for just a little bit for one of the most enjoyable titles out there.
Now, somebody spam the next 150 posts so that the studio looks at the the TB numbers and promotes this baby right. -
I mean, I like Edgar's stuff. But I've never heard of this book? Manga? What is it?
-
because this is a comic for self absorbed hipsters that hate comics and its being made into a movie
-
just sayin
-
i don't know why more people on here aren't reading it.
-
I just checked out her resume at IMDB. Except for Death Proof and Die Hard 4, I have never seen anything else she has done, nor do I want to. Cute though. Never heard of this book either. Is this one of those "hip comix" that are basically about some 20 something whining incessantly about their non-lives? I've had my fill of those.
