Merrick here...
Sunday's Super Bowl broadcast brought us our first tease of the LAND OF THE LOST movie that'll arrive this Summer (see it HERE).
Now, a full-length trailer for the film has been unveiled over at the website for Subway (yes, the sandwich shop).
You can find it...

Maybe?

in 2009!

This looks cute and amusing enough.. I don't have anything but vague memories of the old tv show, and it certainly is not some cherished canon or anything, so twisting it around this way is probably ok.
But it is giving me the feeling like I watched this movie already a few months ago in Journey to the Center of the Earth.. -
What is this shit? This whole crossover marketing whatchamadoo thing is just dumb. I don't mind advertising in stuff as long as it's not tacky or overdone. Seeing Tropic Thunder Posters in Rainbow Six 2: Vegas was kinda cool in a way. It made it feel a little more real, but this is just a company stamping their seal on a movie. Boo.
-
cool imagery in that trailer. Just wish it wasn't a Will Farrell buffoonery vehicle. Still, I've always wanted to see Sleestaks on the big screen, so I'll go see it, and I'll probably laugh a few times, like I just did at the walnut gag. Will it fuck my eyeballs? If it does, it better give me a cigarette after.
-
FUCK THIS, go watch my movie Avatar. It'll make your bitch MOAN.
-
Sleestacks!!!
-
I got the same vibe - I remember enjoying it when I was a kid (particularly the Sleestak/Pylon/SciFi elements) and I have one DVD around here with like 4 EP's on it, and they're fun in a low-budget, kitchy sort of way (and the WAY over the top dramatic moments!). I think most people will just plug in a few memories ("Oh yeah, the Marshal, Will and Holly show with the monkey kid, dinosaurs and lizards...") and much of the success (or failure) will be on Ferrel - not sure where he currently stands on the box office draw meter.
-
...needs to deploy some extra bandwidth...I hate when non-media sites host video.

and I'm English.

I am SO disappointed by what I see here. I mean the supreme idiocy of the line 'are we in the past' or whatever the fuck when the trailer shows a ruined Golden Gate Bridge is a perfect example. They might as well have cast John C. Reilly and made it a film all about one-liners. Oh, and dinosaurs wouldn't evolve in the future at all probably, least of all in such a nearby future where the ruined Golden Gate Bridge is not only still recognizable, but still RED. Count me out. My childhood will be raped enough this summer. Ahem, TF2. Soundwave is a fucking ghetto blaster, not a super tri-jet whatever the fuck. LAME!!!
-
trashing my scene? Why? WHY?
-
The Today Show stuff was amusing. I don't think this was the best choice of vehicles though. It might be mildly funny; but the best this thing can hope for is GALAXY QUEST. And I'm not sure it's got the goods for that.
-
I really hope that this isn't Will just butt-fucking a classic. I mean he has the potential to be hysterical beyond comparison and Danny McBride hasn't done anything that hasn't made me laugh my ass off. And yet for some reason I get the feeling that this is going to be a joke... clown shoes.
-
And this is no exception. You can tell from the trailer that the film is an utter waste of everyone's time and money, and will destroy the property's image.
-
The full trailer didn't quite live up to my hopes, after seeing the teaser. But then, I haven't seen the movie.
-
MATT LAUER CAN SUCK IT!
-
I bought 50k shares of Land of the Lost on HSX a few years back for $4.
If they hadn't turned it into such a crappy, unusable mess, I'd actually log-in to check how much it's worth now. -
Journey to the Center of the Earth
-
Jon Hamm in Earth Stood Still. Anna Friel in this. Once again the lure of the big screen turn the best television actors into ground hamburger (pronounced hamburhber ala Steve Martin).
-
Please for the love of god... never quote that farse of a film again.. Steve "I have ruined the Pink Panther" Martin is no replacement for Peter Sellers.
-
Just reinforcing the idea of the lameness of some (most?) big screen "entertainments".
-
Wonder what sort of product placement we'll get. "I'm sick of dinosaur eggs! If only I had a delicious 6" Subway Club! It's lower fat than a fast food hamburger, and two for one combo meals on Wednesdays. Look out, sleestaks!"
-
makes me laugh so lous i snort.
-
Hopefully it didn't show the funniest parts in the trailer
-
Can't wait for my huge Land of the Lost Plastic Useless Sell-Out Subway Tumbler to go next to my Happy Gilmore one. Talk about a hole in one!
-
this generations "Ghostbusters".
You mean like that, Mooseboy? -
But that last comment still looks awesomely condescending.

Fucking Subway? Fuck right off!
by i_am_not_the_droid_you_are_looking_for
This movies fucked.
-
as he munches on a cheeseburger (at least he wasn't scripted to say Whopper), Justin Long's character mentioning an Arby's that could be stopped at in Die Hard 4. I can handle a character in a movie drinking a Coke or Pepsi, but dialogue and scenes like the ones mentioned take me right of the movie, even for just a few seconds (So Tony Stark enjoys BK over McDonalds or Wendys, or that was what was on the way...??)
-
Seriously I just can't get into the guy. He plays the SAME character in every movie he is in, and it's wearing thin.
His two best movies are ELF and Stranger than Fiction. -
I remember when the Cod Cut Combo(now Trio) was an ideal luch/dinner/breakfast. Now it seems
their food has gone down hill especially in prics. $5.oo for the CCC?? Your kidding me. I swear it was under 4 bucks not to long ago. Sigh, everything is expensive now. -

Dear fatties: eating ham sandwiches will NOT MAKE YOU THIN
by arcadiands
stop being fooled but Subway - they're selling fatty lunchmeat sandwiches in thick loafy CARBO WRAPPERS with SUGARY SODAS to drink.
You'll gain the same amount of fat eating that as you would eating a McDonalds hamburger. -
I want to make sure I got it.
-
Allow me introduce you to Speed Racer, 2009 edition.
-
I will see this on video, if not by sneaking in at the theater.

im a bit embarrassed to admit it but i want to see it
by jimmyjoe redsky
will ferrell will save this - and that pyro tech guy from tropic thunder - he is funny too
-
Hey, maybe Subway can sponsor that long-awaited sequel to MAC AND ME.
-
Seriously, is there no shame to this guy? He'd let Subway brand his ass. And anybody who thinks that Matt Lauer being in a movie makes it more interesting has no taste. Matt Lauer? The Mad Men are laughing at America. Resist sheep!
-
It's worth $113.37, Squasha. You internet rich.
-
I am looking forward to seeing this cause i really loved the 90s version that played on ABC.(mainly do to christa)
I do have to say while i think i will enjoy the movie, the sleestaks in the 90s show look more better than the ones in this movie. But thats probably cause it looks like they are basing this as close as possible to the original. -
I couldn't agree more. I think as a serious actor in Stranger Than Fiction he was awesome. But you're right.. hes starting to wear thin although there are some things he has done that were pretty funny. I mean I still think he was the best part of the Producers. Some scenes in Step Brothers were priceless. He needs a new agent I think.
