    by big_daddy_nero

This looks cute and amusing enough.. I don't have anything but vague memories of the old tv show, and it certainly is not some cherished canon or anything, so twisting it around this way is probably ok.

But it is giving me the feeling like I watched this movie already a few months ago in Journey to the Center of the Earth..

    First E-Surance and now Subway?

    by xandar1977

What is this shit? This whole crossover marketing whatchamadoo thing is just dumb. I don't mind advertising in stuff as long as it's not tacky or overdone. Seeing Tropic Thunder Posters in Rainbow Six 2: Vegas was kinda cool in a way. It made it feel a little more real, but this is just a company stamping their seal on a movie. Boo.

    by barrymore yorke

cool imagery in that trailer. Just wish it wasn't a Will Farrell buffoonery vehicle. Still, I've always wanted to see Sleestaks on the big screen, so I'll go see it, and I'll probably laugh a few times, like I just did at the walnut gag. Will it fuck my eyeballs? If it does, it better give me a cigarette after.

I got the same vibe - I remember enjoying it when I was a kid (particularly the Sleestak/Pylon/SciFi elements) and I have one DVD around here with like 4 EP's on it, and they're fun in a low-budget, kitchy sort of way (and the WAY over the top dramatic moments!). I think most people will just plug in a few memories ("Oh yeah, the Marshal, Will and Holly show with the monkey kid, dinosaurs and lizards...") and much of the success (or failure) will be on Ferrel - not sure where he currently stands on the box office draw meter.

    by prague23

I am SO disappointed by what I see here. I mean the supreme idiocy of the line 'are we in the past' or whatever the fuck when the trailer shows a ruined Golden Gate Bridge is a perfect example. They might as well have cast John C. Reilly and made it a film all about one-liners. Oh, and dinosaurs wouldn't evolve in the future at all probably, least of all in such a nearby future where the ruined Golden Gate Bridge is not only still recognizable, but still RED. Count me out. My childhood will be raped enough this summer. Ahem, TF2. Soundwave is a fucking ghetto blaster, not a super tri-jet whatever the fuck. LAME!!!

The Today Show stuff was amusing. I don't think this was the best choice of vehicles though. It might be mildly funny; but the best this thing can hope for is GALAXY QUEST. And I'm not sure it's got the goods for that.

I really hope that this isn't Will just butt-fucking a classic. I mean he has the potential to be hysterical beyond comparison and Danny McBride hasn't done anything that hasn't made me laugh my ass off. And yet for some reason I get the feeling that this is going to be a joke... clown shoes.

Having the lead be a jerk kills any film

    by mooseboy

And this is no exception. You can tell from the trailer that the film is an utter waste of everyone's time and money, and will destroy the property's image.

I bought 50k shares of Land of the Lost on HSX a few years back for $4.

Wonder what sort of product placement we'll get. "I'm sick of dinosaur eggs! If only I had a delicious 6" Subway Club! It's lower fat than a fast food hamburger, and two for one combo meals on Wednesdays. Look out, sleestaks!"

Tonk Stark handing his driver a Burger King bag

    by skimn

as he munches on a cheeseburger (at least he wasn't scripted to say Whopper), Justin Long's character mentioning an Arby's that could be stopped at in Die Hard 4. I can handle a character in a movie drinking a Coke or Pepsi, but dialogue and scenes like the ones mentioned take me right of the movie, even for just a few seconds (So Tony Stark enjoys BK over McDonalds or Wendys, or that was what was on the way...??)

    by arcadiands

stop being fooled but Subway - they're selling fatty lunchmeat sandwiches in thick loafy CARBO WRAPPERS with SUGARY SODAS to drink.
You'll gain the same amount of fat eating that as you would eating a McDonalds hamburger.

I am looking forward to seeing this cause i really loved the 90s version that played on ABC.(mainly do to christa)
I do have to say while i think i will enjoy the movie, the sleestaks in the 90s show look more better than the ones in this movie. But thats probably cause it looks like they are basing this as close as possible to the original.

I couldn't agree more. I think as a serious actor in Stranger Than Fiction he was awesome. But you're right.. hes starting to wear thin although there are some things he has done that were pretty funny. I mean I still think he was the best part of the Producers. Some scenes in Step Brothers were priceless. He needs a new agent I think.
