This Apatow train is running out. I'm a huge fan, but shit...this looks like they took some of my favorite comic actors and made a stupid fucking movie with them. Damn it.
-
this looks funnyish
-
I wanted to laugh, but it just kinda existed.

I cuold about ten good chuckles out of only 2 minutes of that
by Kirbymanly
I'm in the seat.
-
I thought that I had read on this site that the movie was a steaming pile of shit. I remember reading a test screen review at how bad this movie is. Oh well, Role Models was good.
-
That was funny.Did you all leave your sense of humor in your mother's ass?
-
The movie is gonna come off like one big sketch, but I'm sure it'll get some laughs.
-
and had professional costume designers make their outfits. I like the humor, but the look is something along the lines of made for TV or DTV. I've seen what you could call set pieces from this film. Nothing really looks cruedly made or real. Then again it's a comedy not Apoco or Caveman, so I should stop nith bitching already...
-
But come on, those gags were telegraphed a mile away. And done much better decades ago when Monty Python did them.
-
saw it months ago. it can't be saved, even with the recent reshoots. they're still testing it next week. it's the worst apatow production ever. i preferred drillbit taylor. bible comedy just doesn't work.
-
i'll see it
-
by itself makes me want to see this movie a little bit. too bad they just showed me ,what i imagine is the whole scene.
-
It's just a clip. No way in hell do they waste 2 full minutes of the most expensive ad time on tv to show this lengthy clip.
-
it made me laugh. mission accomplished.
-
the sketch was kinda funny aside from the overwrought non-ending. ill watch it when tbs plugs it up their ass year after next
-
At the fumbling with arrows bit. The rest was meh.
-
I though it is funny... nothing like the comedy style in the prior films.
-
The superbowl. Isn't there a war? A financial crisis? a new, minority president? Why are we focusing on a dumb, fucking football game (which I will watch and enjoy)?
-
...but it sure smells good!
-
I didnt even chuckle, and I pretty much laugh at anything.
-
love me some David Cross. (i hope Bob shows up too)
-
But I'll have to and I'm fine with that.
-
have to agree, although its got some great comic actors and some funny moments, altogether not worth the time. no flow, no real story. bleh
-
Can you finish the war? Can you fix the economy? And didn't we already go gaga over a black guy in The House? Hell, wasn't going gaga over the guy just last week's entertainment? What good did THAT do? Just enjoy it. The world will still be fucked up on Monday. I promise.
-
ummm maybe because this is AICN and not the New York Times.
-
Nice to see Ramis back in action...this looks hilarious!
-
You have won my seal of approval, moviemen.
-
Sorry, it's the truth.
-
"tonight we feast" had me laughing

-
Even if it means I'm an idiot.
-
It looks like I'll be there opening day
-
Is that Devastator riding a unicycle? WTF?!
-
it is a coo. A highland coo.
-
it was the term that one guy used to describe terminator 2? The transformers trailer looks like the Back Door Sluts 9 (south park reference, look it up) of fx porn.
-
fx or otherwise
-
If any genre has firmly cemented itself as "wildly subjective", it's comedy. I laughed at that clip. And contrary to what a couple of you have posted, I'm not an idiot. But I also won't be calling anyone a humorless douche if they didn't laugh. Everyone, get over your sense of humor. It is what it is.
-
that's, like, your opinion, man.
-
it's on slashfilm, but not aicn?
-
Oh Shit!!!! His wheels are as big as Prime and they are fighting Tokyo???. Does Sam get his hand cut off? Looks like that was about to happen...
-
Not funny at all! What is this? History of the World Part 1 or Caveman, starring Ringo Starr?
-
I think I am going to need to see it in slow motion with a clear picture. The only thing I really made out was a robot looking like a lion or something. Everything else was just a blur. I'm sure it will be pretty decent though. Just hope the action is slowed down a bit this time around so you can tell who is who.

palpatinefuckedmydog's comment, on the other hand, is fucking hilarious.

Jack Black is playing THE GREEN HORNET's wacky neighbor!
by Bob Cryptonight
Well, it could happen unless we are all vigilant!!
-
Wow. Jack Black continues his streak as film pariah. That looks like utter shite.
-
hair
-
But what do I know?
-
Which is alright.
-
Using the "indie" aesthetic to push a conservative xtian message? Fuck you. Also, NOBODY talks like that in real life. She didn't come off as charming or witty, more shrill, obnoxious, and irritating; and I say that as a guy who would love to ride Ellen Page's hot pixie ass until the end of time. Finally, the man-hate was at an all time in the flick. So the root of all evil is the aging gen-xer guy? Fuck you again. Juno was, at best, a bottom feeding hacked out Lifetime special for angst ridden teenage girls who simultaneously hate and are sexually obsessed with father figures. The pole dancer who wrote this thing must give incredible blow jobs, otherwise this film never would have been made, and certainly wouldn't have been nominated for anything other than the cut-out bin at Wal Mart.
-
Anyway, YEAR ONE looks funny. Yeah, it looks like an American version of a Monty Python movie, but what's wrong with THAT?
-
I purposefully scanned this talkback for any reference to Monty Python, and the last one nailed it. Thanks Orbots Commander.<br> <br> Reading some of these comments makes me wonder if people get this clip. The point to make is that it seems like a SUCCESSFUL American take on Monty Python's style of humor, which is saying a lot.<br> <br> Judging by this clip, I admit loudly that I have no idea if they really pull it off. It could be a Life of Brian, or it could end up being a lesser Mel Brooks flick.
-
It made me want to vomit with rage for a variety of reasons.
-
How does that guy even get work? He gives absolutely nothing new or interesting to the movies he is in.<p>I love me some David Cross, but that didn't even get me a chuckle.
-
HypernatedWords: you must be the most optimistic person to have ever graced a TB here!<p>That's a bit like someone saying "The Love Guru" could be the new "Doctor Strangelove" after watching the trailer for it!
-
Gotta see this, looks a hoot.
-
It should be noted that Ramis co-wrote this with Office writers Lee Eisenberg and Gene Stupnitsky, who are also wrote episodes like The Dinner Party and The Surplus. They're also the guys working on writing Ghostbusters 3.

-
I just reread my comment and am saddened by how hopelessly optimistic it is.<br> <br> Thanks for the splash of cold water and slap, IAmMrMonkey!. I must have been in a really good mood last night. Jack Black ≠ Monty Python. Well, he does look a little like Terry Gilliam.
-
...but they stop permanently after you've kicked their ass and pelted them with grapes and skiball tickets.
-
means I will be seeing this, that and Harold Ramis directing
