Moriarty's Sundance Pillow Talk Wrong... Stephen Chow is still on GREEN HORNET & it ain't dead yet!
Hey folks, Harry here... There's a strange world that occurs up in the frozen wilds of Sundance. Amid all the black leather and Blackberries - the very non-LA weather creates a crotchety bitch fest, where rumors start spiraling like snowflakes in the air. The big one this year was that GREEN HORNET was swatted. My sources around Stephen Chow say, not so fast Moriarty! Sure, the evil professor may have a new assumed identity, but he's still out to thwart Good and the powers of truth and justice... even under his new alias of Drew McWeeny. It seems Stephen Chow is still attached and moving forward on GREEN HORNET. Meanwhile, long time Asian Film site, MonkeyPeaches which has provided AICN with an awesome array of Asian Film scoops in the past is reporting that Stephen Chow's next foreign film is called JOURNEY TO THE WEST! How do you respond... Mo... I mean, DREW MCWEENY? IF THAT'S YOUR NAME?!?!? Will you be man enough to admit how you're just an evil doddering ol frigid fool for listening to the Sundance Bitching? Hmmm? I will be watching to see if you do any significant follow up!

I can not understand SETH ROGEN, he is not funny. He will fuck up the green hornet, like he does all of his films, by playing the same stupid stoner! AICN in the last few years has become a fucking embarrassment. 80-90% of all the stories are picked from other sites. Only CHUD is worse about that (but that shouldn't surprise anyone) Not to mention the fact that you guys have been days if not weeks behind other sites concerning breaking news. <P> Look, we all appreciate what you've done but the fact that Mori was here for 12 years, helping you build this site (that STILL has a fucking ID4 wallpaper and no edit button) speaks volumes on your character. <P> Pretty fucked up, man.

With todays CGI this should be the best film ever made. His previous Monkey films are classics but untrue to the book. If he does this faithfully but Stephen Chow it then I am a happy man.

Stephen Spielberg and Zhang Yimou are collaborating on a film version of XiYuJi aka 'Journey to the West', esentially the story of my namesake and since Chow did such a great job playing Sun Wu'Kong the last 2 times, they may have recruited him for this outing. I hope it's a more faithful representation than what we saw in THE FORBIDDEN KINGDOM and they get Rick Baker to handle the Monkey King makeups. To my knowledge, Chow is still working on the sequel to GONG FU aka KUNG FU HUSTLE. Let me check with my wife on any new Chow news.

Journey to the West is one of my favorite stories. I read a four volume edition edited by Anthony C. Yu. I highly recommend this to people who like fantasy. You can read about dragons and adventure, comedy, super-action etc. and at the same time, you get to read a Chinese national classic. I thought it was terrific.

I've really only skimmed over Moriarty's stuff, and I have liked his writing, but the rest of it is too broad-based to target a specific audience. Look at Newsarama - they went from specifically covering comics to more of a widespread base (movies, TV, videogames) and their numbers have dropped down from the format change. HitFix is a bit too "Entertainment Weekly" website, (movies, music, TV, etc. etc.) and if I wanted to go to Entertainment Weekly's website, I'll go to www.ew.com Like that Mori is writing more frequently now, not exactly a huge fan of his new homebase.

Drew had been growing away from the supposed target AICN crowd for a long time. There were a few flare-ups in the Fall (the Clone Wars review saga, Gone, ScriptGirl) where it seemed Moriarty would try to be a diplomat between AICN and the angry TBers. And everytime he would be polite and try to meet them half-way, he would get shit on. Despite his (and TBers) reasonable ideas and valid complaints, nothing would ever change. I'm told a lot of the staff feel they shouldn't bother trying to get Harry to take something seriously because he won't listen. He won't explain himself. <br>Harry has been largely absent from this site for years. You can't really argue this point. But since Drew announced he was leaving, Harry has been everywhere. I can ass-u-me there is some jealousy and immaturity on his end about Drew making it while Harry isn't taken seriously and can't get a project running. But really...that's Harry. He is an immature person and makes these type of comments to his buddies like Massa all the time. It's hard to know if he's really angry at someone. And who really cares? At this point, you are either amused by Harry and the AICN standard or you're not, and you don't really have much hope for things to improve.

...he left out of the movie??? I had to watch his director's commentary for him to say what really mattered most about the movie. The story is essentually saying that "Everything in life is fixed (shrugs shoulders). Just as long as you remember that, you can factor it into the equation (of your life, hopes, and dreams), and you don't get your hopes too high."...or words to that effect. That wise and amazing statement, should have been in the movie!!!
