George Clooney And Julianna Margulies Shooting One More ER As Doug And Carol This Week??

Published at:  Jan 22, 2009 1:09:21 AM CST

I am – Hercules!!

Doug Ross (George Clooney) will next month make his first appearance on “ER” since 2000, according to an E! Online source.

Lifeandsytlemag.com adds that Julianna Margulies will return as Ross’ love Carol Hathaway in the same episode, said to be shooting this week. I’m hopeful the pair will confirm their happy ending.

Both actors appeared in the pilot episode, which centered on Hathaway's seemingly fatal suicide attempt. An offscreen Ross-Hathaway romance preceded that first episode. Clooney's last episode saw the couple reunite following a year-long separation.

Departed cast members Anthony Edwards, Laura Innes, Noah Wylie, Paul McCrane and Abraham Benrubi have all returned for the 15-year-old series’ current, final season.

Find all of E!’s story on the matter here.

    by snowpuff

I happened to have a tape of when Clooney was asked about this:

Wells: Hey can you return to ER?

    Clooney: What do you mean?

Wells: Ya know, a cameo or a little more for the final season.

Clooney: I don't understand. Are you saying this show is STILL on?

    Wells: Um, yeah.

    Clooney: Um, okay.

When Gloria Reuben's character came back, last season I think it was, none of the doctors knew that she worked in the ER.

Which just means it's been on a long ducking time, good for them. I remember when this was can't miss compelling television, maybe it still is too not trying to out it down. Just reminiscing, and all the hospital dramas that rushed to the scene after these guys. Remember when television used to be all police, lawyers, and doctors? Off the top of my head I don't think we have any lawyers or doctors around anymore.

    Benrubi

    by don lockwood

Benrubi left to be in "Men in Trees" which was cancelled by ABC. He came back a few weeks ago to ER saying that he had been in Alaska and things hadn't worked out and wanted his old job back.

For the first few years that Clooney was a big-time movie star, he had said he would come back to ER because he was appreciative of getting his star power there. If he does show up, I'll be glad to see he's a man of his word.

Eriq Lasalle showed up in a bumper before an episode this year to eulogize Michael Crichton. Lasalle has directed a number of ER episodes.

    Regardin clooney...

    by emeraldboy

there is a much darker and more ruthless side to him. There was a story that went round which went thus. He gathered the cast of oceans 11 in his lake garda villa/mansion. as well as the bloke who wrote the screenplay for the remake of oceans 11. they were all there for a couple of days and he ordered the screenwriter to come up with a screenplay. This was done and the screenplay was handed to clooney who in front of his cast fired the screenwriter. an argument flared and this guy was thrown out of clooneys villa. Clooney and pitt and the cast wrote the screenplay for oceans 12. in clooneys villa. when he got back to hollywood. clooney handed the script in and demanded that not one word be changed. That oceans 12 was a bomb was no suprise to anyone. Soderbergh said his experience on oceans 12 was terrible and by that point his working relationship with clooney had disintergrated. soon after his film company that he set up with clooney was dissolved.
