AICN & FANTASTIC FEST present CORALINE in 3D with Henry Selick in Austin! You Game?
Hey folks, Harry here... At BNAT X this year, we screened a healthy dose of CORALINE to an audience that collectively wondered if there was more than just Vodka and Caviar in that Vodka & Caviar we served them during BEN BUTTON. But there were no further intoxicants... just pure brilliant stop-motion animation in 3D.
Well, on Sunday, January 25th at 7 pm at the Galaxy Highland 10, we have the great Henry Selick to bring us his 24 frames a second in Digital 3D adaptation of Neil Gaiman's CORALINE. And golly am I giddy!!!
I'm seating the entire affair and we have a ton of seats to fill, so here's the story. 100 of the seats will be going to FANTASTIC FEST Badge Holders, the rest of the seats will be going to pure AICN fans... you can be both and the 100 is an at least. Here's how you get on the list...

And in the body of the letter, let me know if you're a FANTASTIC FEST Badge Holder (I will be checking this against that list, so no being sneaky) and if you're not - do realize that there's 193 seats that aren't held for FANTASTIC FEST badge holders, but just regular AICN fans.
But in the body of the letter, give me your full name and the full names of your guests (no more than 3). The Deadline to get your emails in is this Friday at Midnight. And Saturday I'll publish the list of lucky seat holders. Ok?

This is the first Fantastic Fest event I've seen posted not happening at the Alamo. Is this just to get more people in/ number of seats?

I think the reason is probably because the Alamo isn't equipped with the 3-D equipment and the Highland was one of the first theaters in Austin to do it. I saw Nightmare Before Christas 3-D there and it was awesome...still, I'll miss the food at the Alamo...Harry, make them upgrade their s**t!

Did the studios just bring in the 3-D projection system to the Alamo South Lamar? I assumed Tim had it installed at that point. They'll need it due to vast number of 3-D films in development. That's weird. We've got at least 3 theaters here in Louisville that I know of that are 3-D ready. And the Alamo is still the best damn theater chain in the world. Tim League is God.

I too will miss the Alamo food. But more people for the screening will be great. I hope Henry Selick will give a short Q/A aferwards. Can't wait!

This movie sounds like it'll actually be a good mainstream adaptation of one of Gaiman's works. Everything else so far has been either mildly entertaining but sloppy or polished and beautiful but sort of boring.
Well, maybe except for Stardust. But we all know how that turned out. -

because every shot I've seen of the dolls has bold horizontal seams across the eyes, but all the videos they've released, those lines are just strangely not there.
