FRIGHT NIGHT Remake Gets Staked!

Beaks here...

Though Screen Gems' planned remake of FRIGHT NIGHT was to have as much to do with Tom Holland's original as "quality" has to do with "J.S. Cardone", it is nonetheless a tremendous relief to know that one of the best horror films of the '80s will not be footnoted by a Clint Culpepper PG-13 special. If only the same could be said of THE STEPFATHER. As ShockTilYouDrop's Ryan Rotten reminds us, the Screen Gems redo of FRIGHT NIGHT more closely resembled Tobe Hooper's THE FUNHOUSE in concept (which raised the question, "Why not just remake THE FUNHOUSE?"). Now that Holland's classic is safe, it appears that Culpepper and Co. have targeted another '80s horror fave - one that, thankfully, wasn't any good in the first place. To learn more, check out Rotten's story. And for future reference: do not fuck with Peter Vincent.
