Live in Chicago? Wanna see David Goyer's latest THE UNBORN? Capone has the details!!!
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here with the first ticket giveaway of 2009 for residents of the Windy City.
I've got a few tickets for a screening designed to whet the whistle of Chicagoans before I make a major screening announcement in a few days about something going on next week (with guest). In the mean time, I've got 50 passes (each god for the winner plus one guest) for David Goyer's latest, THE UNBORN. Since I know these tickets are going to fly out the door, I'm only keeping the contest open for one day. So, 24 hours after the time code on this posting, and this contest is over.
I saw a whole lot of truly freaky footage from this film at ComicCon last year, much of which showed up in the trailer. And Goyer is usually a guy you can trust, especially when you look at his screenplays/story credits: THE DARK KNIGHT, BATMAN BEGINS, DARK CITY, the three BLADE movies, and the upcoming X-MEN ORIGINS: MAGNETO, which he is also slated to direct. And while I wasn't a huge fan of his last film as a director, THE INVISIBLE, I did think the film has a great vibe that kept it off my Worst of 2007 list. THE UNBORN was shot in Chicago last year and features the likes of Gary Oldman, Jane Alexander, Carla Gugino, James Remar, and Odette Yustman in her first feature since CLOVERFIELD.
The screening takes place Thursday, January 8 at 7:00pm at a theater in downtown Chicago (the exact location will only be given to contest winners). This is NOT an exclusive AICN screening, so winners need to arrive early to guarantee admission. In fact, this is the only pre-release screening of this film in Chicago, which means I'll be there even though I won't be running the shindig. I am expecting this to be oversold, so if there's even a chance you won't be able to make it, don't enter.
Here's how to secure a pass good for you and one guest. Send me an email at capone@aintitcoolmail.com with the subject line "I LOVE MY UNBORN TWIN!"
I need your name (guests' names are not required), and, in the body of the email, tell me why you love your unborn twin (I'm assuming you all have one, right?). Limit your answers to 75 words or less. I'll be judging these on creativity, shock value, and possibly some kind of swimsuit competition.
Winners will receive an email from me soon. Good luck, everyone! And hope to see you there.
