    Recap

    by rei-ginsei

My girlfriend never watched "Lost", so over the past five weeks we've plowed through seasons 1-3 (currently watching 4). It's actually been kind of nice, because a lot of the episodes I've forgotten about. I'm glad that they decided to pick an end point - while season 3 had some really awesome moments, it also had some obvious fluff (coughjackstattooscough).
So do you think the next two seasons will be a series of progressive reveals, or do you think they'll string us along until the final episode and give us one BIG reveal?

I have been rewatching the entire series myself on G4 (currently nearing the end of S3), and while I don't deny there are some "fluffy" episodes, I still can't understand why all the reviews for the S4 DVD keep calling S4 LOST's "comeback" season. S3 moves along at a great pace, and as you said, features some awesome WTF moments. I mean, come on. We got psychic Desmond's "You're gonna' die Chaaalie....and he does, in one of the most moving sacrificial death scens on TV....we get Locke pushed out of a building....we get Goth Claire....naked Kate....crazy patch-eye Mikhail....and finally "We have to go baaaack... My point is, why are reviewers hating on S3? This show has never lost steam or gone off track for more than an episode at a time in it's entire run. I can't believe I have friends who I still can't convince to watch this show. They just don't know what's good for them.

...also being mindf**ked by abc makes it even worse, all these trailers are devoid of actual info. The only reason they're being made is to suck more ppl in.

My guess is that Desmond is off the island and is planning to go back to the island as well. How Penny deals with that would be interesting to see.

... the big reveal isn't likely to come until the very end, but they've already raised enough questions to address at least one significant point in each of the remaining episodes. I wouldn't be surprised if they somehow tried to make sense of the tattoo episode.

S3 really did open up the show - I mean, we got to finally see how the "Others" lived, the DHARMA purge, Jacob (whatever the hell he/it is). I wouldn't really consider S4 a return, because it mostly focused on the folks who made it off the island and how they did it. If S5 is them trying to get back on the island and S6 takes place entirely on the island, then S6 is what I'm REALLY waiting for!

There won't be a BIG reveal!!

    by performingmonkey

I don't know what you're all waiting for. OK they MAY tell us what the smoke monster is, but what good would that do us? The drama is the important thing, not some crazy reveal. We can work all the 'mysteries' out right now with little effort. e.g. we will probably see someone go back in time and set everything up so the right people get on flight 815.

    by deejay

I still wonder why it is that the Others have so many resources off of the island. Remember Mr. Friendly's sweet apartment? Heck... with the Island's healing powers, you have to wonder if a bullet would be any more effective on Mr. Friendly than on Keamy...

    by fivezero

oops. double post. i bet that's the Nigerian drug plane! you ever snicker at the ironic way they smuggled the heroin? inside mary statues. they say religion is the opiate of the masses, right? the creators of the show infuse a lot of spiritual themes, but it's clues like the heroin filled mary statue that shows us where they truly stand on religion! haha!

Interesting "breadcrumb" notion. Kind of reminds me of the first season of the rebooted Dr. Who where they kept encountering the "Bad Wolf" mntions everywhere, only to find out in the finale that it was Rose's doing the whole time to lead them to the crisis point in time necessary to save the day.
