Images From Alex Proyas' KNOWING Are Now Appearing Online...
Merrick here...
SciFi.com has a few stills from KNOWING, in which Nicolas Cage plays a man who believes he has future knowledge & sets about trying to prevent certain events from happening.
It's directed by Alex Proyas (THE CROW, DARK CITY, I, ROBOT) and should hit in March.
Swat the plane to find more...

what was that horrible one where he was a magician with psychic powers?
poor nick. -
to all the 'first'ing whores, booyah. i just scored in a nick cage T-B. ugh-i think i need to go take a shower.
-
At least his %$#&@ is interesting. And creative. (And I'm just joshing about the Jew comment...). HEY, you read this damn post...didn't you? And as I know the future...I KNEW you'd read it...
-
those pics are hilarious! classic cage- all five of his only faces, represented in those shots.
determined, pushing door open face fleeing from crowd action facebut i laughed out loud at http://www.scifi.com/scifiwire/gallery_photos/Knowing_planecrashCage_gal.jpg -in the rain, screaming as smoke seems to come off of him because of his movie respectabilty goes up in flames... -
I love Alex Proyas by default since he's the guy who made The Crow. He needs to be given a Superman movie, or some comic book franchise.
-
Nic needs a good film and this may deliver the goods
-
Must be the roids wearign off from those lame action pics he made
-
....Keep Nic Cage on a short fucking leash in this. Proyas deserves better than that....
-
take your stupid mask.
-
It looked like it was a step in the right direction for Cage, and seemed like it was going to be very entertaining. Can't wait to check it out.
-
and possibly a step in the right direction- but i can't help but think that i've seen way to many Cage movies where it's like the world vs. him and he has to convince people of something...
-
I think he's just forgotten howanyways this does look really interesting
-
in his batshit crazy roles. Matchstick Men anyone? That scene where he freaks out at the pharmacy is classic unhinged Cage.
-
Of any actor in any role, ever...
-
OH, NOOO! NOT THE BEEEES! NOT THE BEEEEEEES! AAAAAHHHHH! OH, THEY'RE IN MY EYES! MY EEEEEEYES! AAAAHHHHH! AAAAAGGHHHHHHHHHH!
-
if you like watching cage run around and shine a torch at things.
-
uh.. wait a minute
-
I didn't like it the first time when it was called Next.
-
The future is written and can't be changed. Didn't I see this on like 800 old 'Twilight Zone' episodes?
-
The day Cage and M. Night make a movie together... you just put that idea in my head... and it hurts.
'A LOT! -
...I'd go see it.
-
that cage, trying to change things, in fact makes them happen. he realizes he is the cause of hundreds of lives, so he just stays home and watches tv
-
I'm not sure he's capable of playing anything less than a caricature these days. The trailer doesn't imply any improvement.
-
Oh boy I can't wait for this one! I wish I had a time machine so I could see it now!
-
i like proyas, (i even liked i,robot) and the plot sounds interesting. (nic cage isnt physic he figures out a code from a time capsule that predicts every major disaster, with the death toll.) but man, i agree with zom-bot.com. it is getting hard to take nic cage seriously. (and after Adaptation i started to think he could do no wrong.) i hope this movie changes my mind again.
-
I didnt know there was a trailer out there. I just checked it out. it looks pretty fun.
-
I'm a big fan of Alex Proyas, so I hope he hits one out of the park with "Knowing."
His last directorial venture, "I, Robot" was a neutered, popcorny flick completely lacking real dramatic focus, but apparently the studio messed with Proyas big time on that project, so hopefully "Knowing" is a return to his classic roots.
Also, as others have mentioned, I fucking hope Cage put some effort into this role. Because he's been milktoast for a long time now. "Lord of War" was a pretty solid film, but that's been it for him. I hope he pulled on his "good Nick Cage" suit and got down and dirty emotional again.
This film could be pretty sweet. -
so willing to give this movie a chance.
-
I can't stand watching him try to act for two hours. I'll skip this one.
-
just to clarify...
-
TRZ... makes tons of sense
-
And it looks... pretty badass. Thankfully, Nick Cage isn't wooden at all.
Here's to hoping. -
of Nic Cage staring at something off camera with a look of shock and bewilderment in his eyes.
-
I didn't even other going to the site. Once I did, I realized there are no less than 6 shots of Cage staring at something off-camera with a look of shock on his face.
-
the is the title of the sequel
-
"Killing me WONT BRING BACK YOUR HONEY!!!!"
-
Damn You Michael Bay
-
It was still being shopped around at the time and honestly, it's one of the only ones I got to read that summer that i actually enjoyed.
That's not to say it's a masterpiece... It's not. Some of the character's fates, one in particular, is kind of out of left field, the ending gets a little out there and the final disaster is kind of... extreme, veering more from thriller into sci-fi, but it was a decent read and will probably make a fun film.
I told my then-boss I liked it and he agreed but said that they were looking for lighter fare (i.e. family movies). Good to know someone picked it up, and while I'm aware of the amount of changes and studio meddling that the draft could have undergone since 05, I'm actually looking forward to this one. -
anything with a sapce capsule probably has my ticket or at least my cable On Demand $4.99. i just really hope the end doesn't involve saving the entire world, as the poster implies. because i am reallllllly tired of the world getting saved in every sci-fi movie or tv show, every episode.
-
called Next?
-
When I first saw the teaser trailer, i just figured it was moron execs trying to cash in on the popularity of Next... But I like Proyas, so maybe I'll rent this after it comes out on video.
-
Anyone know when The Box is coming out? Is it a Spring '09 release?
-
is the only reason i will see this movie.
-
then I would have little interest. However, I might give it a shot.
Nicolas Cage is a real weirdo. Punching people while wearing a bear suit and all that. Strange guy. -
And there's been lots floating around on this movie on this site for years. Plot sounds cool, too bad it's got Nic Cage.
-
..the box comes out in november of 09. That sucks ball hair.
-
they'd bring back lobby cards.
-
you're obviously a man who appreciates the finer things in life.
-
Fixed.
-
but GODDAMM Cage's hair looks FUCKING STUPID!
yes
that's a very shallow observation
but... GODDAMM! -
this will no doubt be a very unpopular opinion, but I dug the hell out of the National Treasure movies - and I thought he was great in em -and his hair wasn't stupid (much) either!
sure, we're not talking high friggin prose here and I get all the contrivances and inaccuracies and blablabla - but dammit, they were both such fun rides and played with just enough tongue in cheek (for me at least) to enjoy them.
there - I said it -
Is there an online version of the script somewhere? It's a somewhat interesting premise but I'm deadly allergic to Nicolas Cage movies. hehe And I'm more curious now that my "the numbers stopped because she ran out of paper or she can't predict beyond her own death" theory is all shot to hell.

troof.

Cage in pic 2: "I WANT THE BEAR SUIT! WAAAAAHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
by the atomic worm
-
He's good or great in everything he does, minds his own business and always behaves himself. "Knowing" looks good, I'll be in line to see it. What's with his looking so gaunt?? I wish he'd gain a few pounds back, he looks a bit sickly.
