RACE TO See The New WITCH MOUNTAIN Poster...

A few weeks ago, we got our first look at RACE TO WITCH MOUNTAIN via THIS trailer. And...it looked surprisingly unsucky.
My man Buzz Lightbeer just sent a message providing (what may be) our first look at the film's poster. His message appears in the blue highlight below; you can see the poster after that.

Hey guys, was driving past the Walt Disney studios in Burbank today when I saw them putting up the new movie poster for Race to Witch Mountain, had to turn around and get a 2nd look and it looks pretty damn cool. To be honest I wasn't so sure about this flick's potential after seeing the movie trailer, but this poster on the other hand looks pretty bad ass, even stopped traffic to get out of my car to snap this picture (apologies to the lady in the Blue Toyota), enjoy.

has become too risky in the eyes of Hollywood executives. Why take a chance on an unproven product when the American public has already proven it will spend more money on a regular basis on recycled goods. Maybe I'm wrong, but in my mind this is the only theory that makes sense. How else you do explain things like Nutty Professor 3 (in development), Big Mommas House 2, or Cheaper by the Dozen 2? Those weren't even sequels anyone was asking for and yet, if memory serves me right, 30 million dollars worth of morons paid to see Big Momma's House 2 on it's openning weekend.

If you take into account indies & films in limited release you're probably not too far off on that ratio. However I'll use my neighborhood multiplex as an example to counter. With 14 screens they are currently running 10 films, 4 of which are sequels (Quantum of Solace, Highschool Musical 3, Madagascar Ecape 2 Africa, and Transporter 3). Incase you're bad with math, that's 40% of the films playing.

Cool poster. Reminds me a bit though of Close Encounters' Devil's Tower shot and for some reason, The Amazing Race.

Disney's not even subtle about it. The cab has a Space Mountain ad on the roof. Like anyone else who's ever been to Disney World I've ridden it despit the urban legend, which could be true, that somene stood up on it, and decapitated themselves.

...and a pretty damn good one. But if you look closely at the bottom/center where the little support bar comes up you can see the photo-shop lines around the edge and where the "1" meets the frame. The image itself maybe "real" but I don't think the sign is. Maybe someone with more knowledge of this kind of thing can correct me though...

is it a remake/reboot or a sequel? because some places say the original kids play the same roles and are these new kids parents or something, but other places simple imply they just have cameos and arent playing their original roles.

It means 1) the poster's a fake or 2) it's an unfinished version without a final billing block. Either way, the whole thing should be taken with a grain of salt.

1. This is a REAL poster. 2. Anna Sophia Robb has all the earmarks of being one of the hottest girls in the near future. 3. What's wrong with REMAKES? I thought BATMAN BEGINS was a good remake of previous Batman films. 4. What's wrong with SEQUELS? I though TDK was a good sequel to BATMAN BEGINS.

But you've got me thinking. I think it was Sin City that, about a month before it was released, the TV commercials had a tag at the end stating "this film is not yet rated" meaning the MPAA had not yet signed off on it. Which would mean any posters for the film before that time would not have had a rating. However, I think the posters simply lacked the rating, and didn't (like the one above) have a blank box where the rating would be. If it is real, I think perhaps someone goofed and released the version that would eventually contain the rating instead of the intended version with no hint of rating.<p>Shermdawg, Dwayne Johnson can not be Superman as he must be Kraven the Hunter in Spider-man 4.

Also keep in mind that many of the "original" movies that are playing each week are often rehashes of older films. Some people only consider it a remake if it has the same title. I consider it a remake if it's the same essential story. Take Cruel Intentions as an example...that was essentially a remake of Dangerous Liaisons but everyone thought it was new and original. Boy were they fooled. So, I would disagree with your assessment of there being 7 times as many original movies as there are remakes. BUT! I would also say there aren't as many remakes as we would be led to believe by most of the talkbacks on here.

ummm she's almost 30 so i think its safe to say she's hot already. but to defend the so called "perv thinking" when people say that...in my case, i never deny i think the girl is cute if not hot already, i'm just saying if she's already this good looking, then she can only be hotter when she's older. so in the case of Miss Robb, she's very very cute...more evidence that i was a teenage at the wrong time since nobody looked that good when i was her age. but anyway yeah, she's cute now and can only get hotter with time. and as for Alyssa Milano, she didnt hit "hot" til she was 16 or 17. she was a cute kid in the early seasons but there's a reason she didnt become the "it girl of 80s tv" until she was in her mid teens.

You're probably right as to their release date. However, the problem that people have when they complain about lack of originality is that they're not exposed to originality. 3 of the last 5 films to open at #1 were sequels. And as to my point of my local multiplex showing 40% sequels, you have to understand that most of the country lives in smaller markets where they are not exposed to independent films with original concepts. The gripe amongst us who wine about originality isn't that nobody is offering originality, but that Hollywood or should I say main stream Hollywood isn't offering it. Accessability to original films and film makers is often lackluster at best until films hit dvd & blu ray, and let's face it, you don't see block buster advertising the indies or the cult films too often. Do you?

Wasn't the alien aspect supposed to be the "surprise twist" in the original film? (hence the kids are mistaken for witches?) I know it was a long time ago, but the poster kind of spoils it for today's kids who never saw the original.

You're right, Batman Begins is not a remake. But, it's just another VERISON of a Batman film. Just like alot of the other "so call" remakes out there. They're not remakes or sequels, but new versions/ takes of certain characters.

I said she IS HOT. But, I also said she has earmarks of being one of the hottest girls in the future. Therefore, she's not super hot just yet. Just like Natalie Portman was hot in the professional, but got really hot as she grew older. And I can appreciate when I see a teenage girl looking beyond pretty, which equals hot. It's like if you saw a ugly teenage girl, you just KNOW she's ugly. Just because a girl isn't 18 and still a teenager, does that mean she can't be pretty or hot? That's like saying a girl can't be ugly if she's under 18 too. ANNASOPHIA wasn't desirable when she was in Wily Wonka or those other films, but NOW that she's looking OLDER, I can easily see her being the next Natalie Portman, except she won't be a bi-sexual wanna be lez like Nat is. 0_o

It actually has some artistic qualities to it. Unlike a bunch of other posters which are just photographs that were cut and paste over a black empty background.

The only reason to watch "Bitch Mountain", and I am refering to Dwayne Johnson as the Bitch, is to see Carla Gugino's tits. I must have watched "Sin City" 100 times just for that one scene. There are bigger ones out there, but I have yet to see a pair as perfect. If the poster showed a picture of Carla in some tight outfit, then it would definately increase opening weekend ticket sales. HOWEVER, a picture of the Rock and two kids just isn't doing it for me. No Carla Gugino tits equals no box office success.

Grainne, Grainne grainne. its that galway accent. and that long dark hair, the white skin and the green eyes. Complete and utter ice maiden. Considering that in most of Asia and Europe you are a consenting adult at 16 and off too college...my wife started her 5yr engineering degree at 16... there are quite a few that would disagree as to 15 being a "child". ANNASOPHIA IS PRETTY! I don’t care that she’s 15yrs old. I think She’s a very pretty girl. Does that mean I want to marry her or something? Nope. Now, My great grandparents got married at 16yrs old. For over two thousand years getting married at 15 or 16 yrs old was considered the norm. It’s STILL the norm in MOST OF THE WORLD. Including the U.K. I believe. Even Jesus’ mother was only 15 yrs old when she got married. Personally I don’t find anything wrong with finding a 15 or 16 yrs old girl attractive. If I was given a choice between finding a 16 yrs old girl attractive or finding a person my age from the same sex attractive, well I would pick the 16yrs old girl EVERY TIME. It’s more natural to find females attractive than people from your same sex.
