Kate Winslet seduces underage boys and may be a Nazi death camp warden for children. THE READER has a trailer!!!
Hey everyone. Capone in Chicago here. THE READER is most definitely on the end-of-the-year radar as far as awards consideration goes. In fact, there's talk that its star, Kate Winslet, might get both a Best Actress Oscar nomination for REVOLUTIONARY ROAD, and a Best Supporting Actress nod for this film. I'm always rooting for Kate, who has never actually won an Oscar before. She's mesmerizing to look upon, she's smart, great at selecting worthy roles, and has a great sense of humor about her career and image. And then we get Ralph Fiennes as the grown-up version of the young man that Winslet apparently beds repeatedly in this movie before being arrested years later for being a Nazi war criminal who decided who lived and who died among the children at a concentration camp. Yikes! The film comes courtesy of director Stephen Daldry (THE HOURS; BILLY ELLIOT) from a screenplay adapted (from Bernhard Schlink's novel) by award-winning playwright David Hare, who also adapted THE HOURS. I remember her face when she lost. You saw the ego front and fucking center. <P> That is the one thing I'll never understand about the celebrities. <P> You know theres lots of us here on earth who just want the chance to be something to someone. Not for the money or the fame or the recognition. To feel a sense of self worth and accomplishment. To know that all the work and the effort we put in everyday trying to be that something. to finally see it get us there. <P> Immensely Humble and Content in tears, cause you just can't believe you actually got in that it actually happened. <P> Those are the people who deserve that thing. And they would never cry about not winning it. Just to be nominated for it is an honor!!! One of the greatest you can get.

for aesthetic reasons. This is a kind of drab and gloomy movie, so nobody is being made up to look like movie stars. Kate and Ralph look pretty fucking beat down, and I think it's for a reason, not just age. Then again, I could be wrong. Age does suck.

Other than that, I think the trailer looks nice and David Kross (the younger version of Fiennes) looks like he acts better in this one than he did in "Krabat". Reading these talkbacks I get really disgusted. I thought this is a site for movie lovers. Why do people always only walk about if you can see an actor or an actress naked in a movie?
